Business area cannot be selected at discoverer plus??

hai,I have create one EUL and i have created one business area with one table from database at Discoverer adminstrater.
Problem is i cant get selected this business area at discoverer plus even i get connected with same database user..
Plz can any one help me out of this..do i have to set any configruation on this..or any permission setup for this..
ITs urgent now..

Log into Discoverer Plus, cancel through the Create Workbook page and then choose Tools/Options, EUL tab and ensure that you are connecting to the correct EUL.
Also, in Disco Admin, ensure you have granted the Disco Plus logon account access to the Business area.

    This is my issue:
    With Discoverer Admin I've created an EUL and a Business Area and I granted the right privilges to a user XXX. When I launch Discoverer Desktop, I connect as user XXX and I can see that I have access to that Business Area. When I launch Discoverer Plus, I create a connection but I do not see the EUL that I've created, so I can not choose it for the connection.
    Anyone an idea?

    I found the problem...
    On my laptop, I have a Discoverer Admin. 10g installation, connected upon a 9i db and created my EUL. Created a Business Area and gave the correct privs/security to my user xxx. When a started Disco Plus and created a private connection, I did not see my EUL appearing in the list of values. Solution: I used a discoverer Admin 9i version, connected upon the 9i db, created the EUL, created a Business Area and gave the correct privs/security to user xxx. Then I reconnected via my Discoverer Admin 10g to that EUL, did the upgrade (forced to do it) and then everything worked out fine. So the trouble is/was, that I was working with two different versions of Discoverer..

  • Controlling access of Plus users to other Business Areas

    We are starting to roll out Discoverer Plus/Viewer on our campus. The following scenario concerns us. We give the Registrar the create/edit query privilege in the administrator, and he works in the REGISTRAR business area. The HR director, who works in the HR business area, decides to build a workbook with a nice report about student employees which she shares with the Registrar. Since the create/edit privilege seems to be associated with the user (Registrar), when he opens the workbook he also has access to the rest of the HR business area, by creating a new sheet and grabbing items from anywhere in the HR business area.
    We had hoped to have something that worked more like this. Power users could create interesting workbooks and share them across campus to folks in other areas, and only be sharing the contents of the sheets themselves. It appears that they would also be sharing their entire business area with any other Power User (someone with create/edit query privilege). In other words, we want some users to be Power Users in their own business area and just a Viewer in any other BA.
    Are we missing something? If not, then why isn't the create/edit query privilege associated with a business area? How can an organization with multiple business areas use the workbook sharing facility without compromising BA data?

    Hi CDA
    You're not understanding the way Discoverer works. The lowest level of security control that can be applied inside Discoverer is at the business area level. Thus if a user has access to any part of a business area then they have access to the whole business area. This is done by your administrator using TOOLS | SECURITY from the Administration menu bar.
    The privileges that can be set using TOOLS | PRIVILEGES control what a user can do with the data that they have access to (remember that access itself is at the business area). Thus if a user has the Create / Edit workbook privilege and they have access to two business areas then they have that privilege for both business areas and create or edit workbooks to their heart's content in both of them.
    Further, and I think this is where you may be getting confused, you have to understand that an end user cannot grant the privilege for another end user to have access to their business area simply by sharing a workbook. The act of sharing a workbook does not share the access rights. In order for one user, aka the Registrar, to be able to run a workbook that was created by another user, aka the HR director), the Registrar must already have been granted access to the HR business areas by the Discoverer administrator. If a user does not have access to a business area but does have access to a workbook from that business area then they will not be able to execute the workbook.
    It therefore sounds like you do not have security under control.

  • GR/IR Automatic Clearing for Different Business areas items

    Hello All,
         we have different business areas, and some times we create a PO for all business areas and invoice it in a specific business area
    in F.13 automatic clearing:
    for GR/IR account
    Documents with different business area cannot be cleared.

    I've tried such a solution with more parameters ( EBELN, XREF3 and EBELP)
    but in F.13 :
    - the document cannot be cleared when >>> selecting GR/IR account special process.
    if we treat GR account as a normal GL account, I mean without selecting GR/IR account special process.
    the document can be clear
    i want to be able to clear the document with selecting GR/IR field ( is it possible )
    and if it is not allowed, do we will face a problem by clearing GR account without selecting GR/IR parameter ??

  • CAN NOT IMPORT BUSINESS AREA AS IT SAYS - JOINS NOT FOUND WHERE REQUIRED

    We have recently migrated from Disco 4.1.48.08 to 10.1.2
    Everything looks ok - we are able to look at existing workbooks and business areas. And we can export business areas successfully.
    However
    When we try to import some business areas it returns - JOINS NOT FOUND WHERE REQUIRED and fails. This is now causing a problem with how we promote from our test/uat and prod environments.
    any ideas ?

    Here's some information from Support that helped me...
    Discoverer has many options on exporting and importing objects. Entire End User Layers, Entire Business Areas or only selected objects could be exported. To simplify the process of exporting and importing Business Areas, it is suggested that the export and import process should be done with entire Business Areas. The reason why it is not recommended that selected objects are exported and imported as a norm is to simplify maintenance.
    It is still possible to export and import selected objects, but a knowledgeable Administrator is recommended to head the procedure. The process could get
    very complex and difficult to manage.
    Some Additional Notes:
    - Join conditions are exported, but are not indicated as an object. Join conditions are only exported ** if ** the joining folders are exported.
    - If the ‘refresh’ option is performed in Discoverer Administrator on an object and the underlying object on the database is not available, the object is dropped from the EUL. It is of utmost importance that the objects exist on the underlying database before the ‘refresh’ option is executed.
    - Functions and Workbooks are not exported when exporting an entire Business Area. Functions and Workbooks have to be exported separately.
    The first bullet is what was giving me this error "JOINS NOT FOUND WHERE REQUIRED". I was unable to do a full export - another unrelated error, so I came up with an alternate solution. I created a new BA that only contained the standard folders that my two custom BA's referenced - by JOINS and inclusion in my complex folders. I exported all 3 and they imported into the new instance with no issue.

    I executed the standards reports: S_ALR_87012093 (Vendor business) and
    S_ALR_87012186 (Customer Sales), in the first screen in "Hide Dinamic
    Selection" I put "Business Area", but when the reports ran, nothing
    filter by business area was consider.
    For example:
    Vendor 123
    Business Area (BA)= 0050 > Balance = 120,00
    Business Area (BA)= 0070 > Balance = 250,00
    I try to filter by BA = 0050 (120,00), but the total of the report show
    me the total of the both BA = 370,00.

    Unfortunately, selection by business area for S_ALR_87012172 is not possible.
    Please review note 50370 for more details on system's design.
    The dynamic selection for business area does not work for reports which use customer / vendor transaction tables (KNC1 LFC1), i.e., business area is not stored in transaction tables.
    The reports that read indexes (better performance) do not read GSBER as this info is contained in the cluster BSEG. The dynamic selections are available cause this is a mask using for developing all reports no matter if they will read the indexes or the cluster.
    Dynamic selections can only be used with customer / vendor, company code or fiscal year fields.  The following reports are affected by this program design, i.e., business area cannot be used in dynamic
    selection criteria:
    S_ALR_87012082 - Vendor Balances in Local Currency
    S_ALR_87012093 - Vendor Business
    S_ALR_87012079 - Transaction Figures: Account Balance
    S_ALR_87012080 - Transaction Figures: Special Sales
    S_ALR_87012081 - Transaction Figures: Sales
    S_ALR_87012105 - List of Down Payments open at Key Date - Vendors
    S_ALR_87012172 - Customer balances in local currency
    S_ALR_87012186 - Customer sales

  • Retrieve Business Area.....

    Hi,
    There is a login id TEST123 in the development environment with admin access and the business area TEST is used to create discoverer reports and the version is 10.1.2.1
    By mistake the other developer went to the menu,
    Tools --> Security --> Select Business Area (Tab)
    and selected the business area TEST and removed from the Select Business Area and also he pressed the OK button when the warning message appeared.
    When I try to run the report error message was shown and when I tried to login into administration using the id TEST123 and i was schoked to notice that the business area TEST is not available
    I tried logging with other user id TEST1 but unable to find the business area TEST.
    All the reports developed are available only under the business area TEST
    So please help me to know who to over come this issue to again retrieve the business area TEST of the user id TEST123.

    The discoverer viewer 4i also works with Linux SuSe 7.2 and 9ias 1.0.2.2.
    We are facing problem with discovere plus 4i with Linux Suse 7.2 and 9ias 1.0.2.2. The applet is downloaded to IE browser but we cant get the login screen. The applet continue to show for long. There are no error messages shown. It only shows applet as busy.

    Shailesh Akhouri Check jvm version. On win2000, I had problem with jvm 1.3 and jvm 1.4, but it worked fine with 1.2.2.

    Hi,
    In FBL1N in dynamic selections you can give the business area as the selection parameter otherwise after execution of report with the help of layout you can set filters for business area.
    Go to FAGLB03 give the vendor or customer reconciliation account along with business area. So after you execute the report you can choose vendor code and business area.

    1. What all prerequisite to be taken care for activation of Business Area in an existing company code.

    3. Client requried only P & L - Do we need to activate business area balance sheet for this ?

    Hi,
    It is impossible to predict exactly system behaviour for each individual customer system after activation of Business Area, but  the best time to activate business area is at the creation of a new financial year. It is extremely difficult to add business
    area after postings to a cost center in the middle of a fiscal year.
    After activating the Business area financial statement in OB65, you have to make sure that all CO objects where a business area can be entered, have the correct one. These are for example the cost centers (ks03) and the orders (ko03).
    After activating the Business area financial statement in OB65, an entry in the table RF048 will be created for every document posted. The program SAPF180A/SAPF180 will process only the documents that have an entry in this table.
    Also if the balance for business areas is activated, the order necessarily requires an entry for the business area - how else
    could the data for the balance be collected or traced - and the business area is a required field. If on the other hand an order
    carries costs, the business area cannot be changed because e.g. CO-documents without or with another business area already exist connected with this order.
    As of the standard there is no tool to make the BA assignement to documents which have already been posted. The indicator "Business Area Fin Statement" has consequences not only in FI but also in CO, MM and SD.

    Can I add a New Folder to existing Business Area with Command Line in Discoverer (java or executable)? I am trying to do this with /load...
    /connect walkep_apps/walkep@smpdev1
    /load Visualizations /eul walkep_apps /user smp_naps_apps /object VISUAL_20K /capitalize /remove_prefix /insert_blanks
    /aggregate DETAIL /show_progress
    ... but this creates a new business area, "Visualizations 1", which is not what we want! We want to add the VISUAL_20K to the existing "Visualizations" business area. Many thanks in advance.

    I have busines area 001, 002,003.....007 in our company. Copmany opened three bank accounts for busisness area 002 ,  003 and one for other all business area.
    Company wants at the time of making payment, the invice belong to business area 002, 003 must be pay from respective bank account. other invoices that do not belong to business area 002,003 must be paid from bank account which are not restricted by busisness area.
    I configured the autopayment and defined the banks account with business area. but when I run the autopayment do not care the business area setting. system select the  the house bank /payment method from ranking order  setting.
    *Please advise,  How system will  select the house bank/payment method/account ID as per invoice business area

    Inculde means system will pick that related field invoice
    Exculde means system avoid invoice related particular field
    so there u select inculde and exclude
    inculde have you give which business area through you wnat to pay
    Exculde give resiticted business area there

    U can get the report as required by your claint, use the S_ALR_87012287-  Document Journal, form this report u can select the document type/user/business area from dynamic selection or u can create the layout as required by claint from this report, and put it as default, so ever time when ever execute the report no need to select from dynamic selection.

    In SAP ECC 6.0 we are using business area concept and Generating  financial statement reports  business area wise. Now we want to group certain business area under some group and for that “Consolidation of business area” functionality is given, we have grouped them , But no standard  reports are available wherein we can enter the  field consolidates business area as input field.
    Please let me know that is there any more activation or further configuration required for getting consolidated business  area reports
    What is the procedure to activate consolidate business area in ECC 6.0, so that we will be able to see consolidation business area as input field for future reports.

    According to standard SAP Practices Bus area is not mandate for Company code.
    But if client required the reporting for area you can able to make this as mandate in Field status afterwords you can able to get the error without Business area you can not able to post the IR.
    For your information  in Standard Operation of the MIRO its wont disturb you for business area required as mandate.
