dear friends,
                      my client ask me to implement business area in all MM t-codes.
can anyone give me some idea??? is it possible implement business area in all MM codes like ME21n,MMBE,MIGO etc....
plz help..................

Hi,
In Purchase Order, Business Area will get populated under "Account Assinment" Tab in case if Account Assignment category is used. This gets determined from Account assignment object (CO Object).
In POs w/o Account Assignment, Business Area can not be seen, this will get get determined during GR (MIGO) and will get updated in material and accounting docs. based on OMJ7 config. and material master plant+division.
Hi,
For your question to activate Business Area under "Account Assignment" Tab, go to OME9 and for Account Assignment Category, go to the detailed screen and in field selection, mark Business Area as Optional/Required as per requirement.

    I tried to put the business area in the opening balance of an accounting document by using transaction FB02 and line item field COBL_GSBER but it is not allowing as the field is greyed out. I have already made this field as changeable field in the document line item control of the configuration.
    Also please share the other factors to be considered to implement the BA in live environment.

  • Can we use WHO columns in Business Logic implementation

    Hi,
    Can we use WHO columns for business logic implementation..?
    From one table I need to pick up the latest record. I have a ActionDate column in the table which stores the date of the action.
    But on the same day there can be multiple action records. ie Multiple records have same ActionDate.
    Select * from action_table where action_date=(maximum action_date)
    The above query will return more than 1 record.
    Now can I use the Creation_Date which is a WHO column to identify the latest record..?
    Will it introduce any issues if I use creation_date WHO column?
    Usage of WHO column in application logic, Is it against the Standards ?

    I guess you are talking about populating the value using the history column creation_dt from EO.
    If so, you can use then. We are using them in all our applications to populate WHO columns of our table.
    Infact as far as I know, even Oracle application uses them.
    They generally populate the timestamp, so you may need to format them when doing date comparisons.

  • NEW GL: Customer/Vendor Line items cannot be displayed per business area

    Hello ECC 6.0 Masters!
    We have implemented Standard Document Splitting by Business area(BUSA). See below scenario..
    ENTRY VIEW

    However after implementation we discovered that because the Customer/Vendor BUSA is blank in entry view, we now cannot derive reports that are normally based on the BUSA of Customer/Vendor line item, which we used to be able to do prior to implementing NEW GL.
    Some of them are below:
    1. Debtor Ageing Analysis (Standard)
    2. Customer/Vendor line items per BUSA (Standard)
    3. Several other Sublegder based custom reports we have that neeed to be categorized by BUSA
    My question now is..Is there a way to derive these Business Area information under Vendor and Customer account to produce our reports? Especially for the Ageing which is key to the business process of my client.
    I hope somebody there has experienced this before. thanks!

    You will not get ageing reports based on BA after new gl migration. You need to bring the info from the new gl tables. one of the easiest ways is to get the info from the table FAGL_SPLINFO by passign BSEG-BELNR. For defining ageing reports in new gl use t code FKI3 and FDI3 for Vendors and Customers respectively.

  • Business Area (GSBER) control in Automatic Payment Program

    Hi everyone,
    I'm implementing a payment process in a company in which I have to different Business Areas and Payments are processed separately but both use transaction F110.
    How can I restrict a Business Area to create a proposal just with documents of its own and not with documents of the other Business Area?
    Authorization Objects are the only solution? Which?

    That may be an option but still depends on the user. If he forgets to settle de Business Area as an additional selection he may pay invoices of the other Business Area.
    Is there any way to default those Additional Values for certain users?
    Any other suggestions?

      Is it possible to change the business area when we post a clearing document?
      For example, we need to pay the line item that have business area 3000. Then we use transaction F110 to create a payment then a clearing docuement will be created with business area 3000. Can we configure it to change to Business area 1000 when we do the payment.
      I tried to implement a FI substitution but Business area field cannot be changed(OSS Note 42615). we can do that by changing standard program but it is not recommended by SAP.
      Any idea on how to do this? Configuration, BTE or any user exits? Point will be rewarded for any helpful answer.

    In our system  vat input tax gl n cenvat clg a/c gl enries r not showing business area wise... when i check the line items of  these  general ledgers  the business area field is blank...the problem is tha how i can identify the data for different business area...?when i m doing entries by miro in these gl  business area  field is showing blank...n when i m doing entries by other t.codes these gl line items r showing by business area wise...what the solution for this problem?documnt splitting is also activated in our system....

    Hi,
    1. Identify the document type being used for the posting. For example KZ or ZP
    2. Identify the transaction type and business variant being used for the document type found in step 1 from SPRO node " Classify Document Types for Document splitting" (SIMG_GLT0_T8G12). Most likely it would be
    3. Identify the document splitting method being used in your implementation from SPRO node "Activate Document Splitting" (SIMG_FAGL_ACTIV_SPLI) . Most likely to be 0000000012 or 0000000012
    4. Go to the SPRO node "Define Document Splitting Rule" (FISL_PS_GBEB_SPLT_DC) and locate the header item with Splitting Method, Business Transaction and Transaction Variant identifies in step 1,2 and 3.
    5. Add item category which contains your tax accounts , into the "Item categories to be edited" list for the header selected in step 4.
    6. Add "Base item categories "03000 - Vendor" for item category identified in step 4.

  • Intercompany reconciliation by business area (ICR)

    Dears,
    Our consolidation process is based on business areas (one reporting entity in our consolidation tool corresponds to one business area in SAP).
    Our target is to adapt SAP ICR to this configuration : currently,  in transaction FBICS3, SAP is retrieving partner company code from trading partner code via field T001-RCOMP, we would like to retrieve it via specific tables.
    We have not found any BADI for this. Shall we insert a custom user-exit for this ? Is there anyone here who is using ICR tool in this configuration?

    There is no way to adjust the screen fields to use different field labels.
    What you could do is implement BADI method MAP_COMPANY_IDS. That way you could specify your business areas as companies to be selected and the mapping logic would then translate this to the company ID. That way the corresponding open items would be selected and the company ID would be overwritten with the business area.
    Alternatively you could add business area and partner business area to your ICR DB and implement BADI method CHANGE_DATA_TABLE and exchange the company ID with the business area and the partner ID with the partner business area there. In that scenario for data selection you would specify the actual company IDs but the data would be stored using the business area and partner business area.

  • Financial statement by business area

    Has anyone encountered implementation of running balance sheet by business area and it only balances at company level but not at business area level?  What are the likely causes and rectifications?
    I noticed we cannot post a reclassifcation entry where we debit from BA1 and credit to BA2 as the balance sheet adjustment posting will balance it.

    Hi,
    The objective of business area is to get the financial statements for internal reporting purpose. So at the business area wise it has to balance the line items, other wise it cant be called as balance sheet.
    The objective of company code is repoting to the external authorities i.e in India as per the comapanies act 1956 all the registered companies must submit the financial statements. The company code level financial statement includes the transactions posted at the business area level also.
    For the internal reporting you can use either business area or profit center.

    I have configured the Business area wise balance sheet in OBY6 setting and i have made configuration in OBXM for the balance sheeet adjustment.
    When i am running F.5D and F.5E, it is not balancing the Debit and Credit Indicator in Trial Balance. We have implemented Business Area in running business this fiscal year. There is no business area past data (2004 to 2010) data.
    Kindly suggest what could be the reason for the same.

    It is a misconception that Business Areas are not recommended by SAP.
    Business Areas and Profit Centres serve two different purposes and Profit Centres are NOT a replacement for BAs nor vice-versa.
    We have just implemented ECC 6.0 using Business Areas and there was no indication at any stage neither from SAP nor its consultants that BAs will not be supported. There is no SAP written document that these will not be supported and if there is, I would be interested to look at it.

    If we Implement Business Are from the began of a year, how the Opening balances will be assigned to Business area?
    i.e. How to assign  Vendor, Customer, Assets and GL Opening Balances to a newly created business area to arrive business area wise financials.

    First, in your field status groups you define business area as required entry, so whenever you post to vendor, customer or asset the business area field will be a required entry. Which will capture the values posted to the line items.
    Also check whether you have maintain business area financial statements in OBY6, and try to split your document settings based on business area if your using new gl.

    Here is some information about the "Standard Setup" for ICR. Depending on your individual requirements you may have to vary these settings:
    Field Movement
    Create a new field movement using transaction GCF1.
    Receiver Table FBICRC002T
    Sender Table ACCHD
    Receiver Field  Sender Table     Sender field
    DOCDT             ACCIT_GLX        BLDAT
    GSBER             ACCIT_GLX        GSBER
    RACCT             ACCIT_GLX        ALTKT
    RASSC             ACCIT_GLX        VBUND
    REFNR             ACCIT_GLX        XBLNR
    Note that this will result in the field XBLNR not being changeable any more. This is SL standard behaviour because this means that if you changed XBLNR in the original document you would not get an update of your SL copy of the document. If you want to be able to change XBLNR in the FI document you could leave sender field for REFNR blank and implement an exit populating the field with XBLNR when the document is first posted.
    Posting Indicator
    I recommend setting this to 3. You will have to build up the initial set of data at some point using GCU1N. And you also want new postings to be transferred.
    Check independent of posting
    NO! You should not set this indicator. This is only relevant if you set posting indicator to 2 and you have implemented e.g. validations.
    Write line items
    YES!!! You need line items as the basis for your reconciliation.
    Required posting
    NO! You should not set this flag.

      Could you please explain more about assignment and substitution? did you implement this before?
      I am in doubt because OSS Note 42615 said that GSBER (Business area) must not be substituted. Therefore, if you implement it and there is no problem, I will do the same.

    You have subsequently activated business area balance sheets for a company code that is relevant in the network/WBS element. If there are already actual costs for the network, network activity or WBS element, the business area is then no longer ready for input. In the detail screen of the assignment data, the system generates an error message in the case of an initial business area, although the corresponding field is not ready for input.
    SAP does not recommend you to subsequently change the business area in an object (network, network activity, WBS element) that has actual costs.
    It is the case, for example, that CO documents written before the subsequent change do not contain the business area and therefore deviate from future documents with business area.
    During the subsequent implementation of the business area balance sheet, the correct procedure is to close existing networks and projects posted to without business area and to create new networks and projects with business area to which the future postings are made.
    Now the business area is still maintainable once for networks, network activities or WBS elements that are already posted with actual costs. This is then set to 'No longer changeable' immediately after the entry of the business area.
    1. The corrections of Notes 507457 and 514782 are a prerequisite.
    2. Implement the attached program corrections.
