Business area & plant validation in asset creation

Dear All,
One of my client requirement is that they have to validate the plant against the business area whicle creating asset master record since this assignment already been carried out in OMJ7 and correspondingly the setttings are establihsed. But when we creating asset master data some times user assigning worng plant against the business area and this leads to lot of conflicts and more over for a company we have 34 business area and this needs to be validated against the plant.
Have tried thru validation but still system not validating the data when we enter the wrong plan, kindly suggest me how to control the wrong assignment of plant against business area in AS01.
Regards,
Balaji.c

Hi Eli,
Have checked the validation, its generated successfully where in pre-requiste have entered the business area  BSEG-GSBER = XXXX, followed by company code and t.code, correspondingly in the check have entered the plant BSEG-WERKS = XXXX, followed by error msg. But when am entering the data wrongly in AS01, system not validating it.
Kindly suggest me is there any other alternative to serve this purpose.

  • Plant & business area validation in asset creation

    Dear All,
Am working in a plant & business area validation which will fire the error msg when wrong plant is assigned at time of asset creation. Issue is for a company we have 19 business area and each business area assigned to various plant. In order to avoid the individual step for each business area, have merged two or more business area in pre-requiste section and correspondingly plant had been validated in check section. But when am inserting two check conditions, its not even working as per the logic, For ex :
    Pre-Requiste :
    ( ANLA-BUKRS = '1300' AND ANLZ-GSBER = '1101' ) AND (
    ANLA-BUKRS = '1300' AND ANLZ-GSBER = '1102' )
    Check :
    ( ANLZ-WERKS = '1307' OR ANLZ-WERKS = '1308' OR ANLZ-WERKS = '1309' OR ANLZ-WERKS = '1304' ) AND
    ( ANLZ-WERKS = '1305' OR ANLZ-WERKS = '1306' ANLZ-WERKS = '1344' )
For the above condition system not validating as per business area since if we entering business area 1101 and entering the plant which related to 1102 business area, system not throwing the error msg where as if we put a single condition in a step its working fine.
Kindly suggest me how to overcome this by avoiding individual step creation for each business area.
    Regards,
    Balaji.c

    Hi,
I have chnaged my validation in the following way as follows,
    Pre-requiste :
    Co code=XXXX
    Check:
Business area = XXXX AND Plant = XXXX.
This condition is working fne for one business area, where as if i include more than one business area in the check section system not validating the condition, in a step its validating only one condition. Since 21 business area available for a co code its not feasible to create individual step.
Kindly suggest me is there any other alternative way to overcome this.

At the time of performing MIRO, the automated entries related to cenvat clearing account for excise in CIN  are made by system.
At the time of excise capturing the Business Area and Plant are picked up at line item for Cenvat Clearing Account.
But at the time of MIRO the Business Area and Plant are not picked at line item for Cenvat Clearing Account.

  • Some external number range are not valid for equipment creation

    Hi All,
What could be the reason even though the external number range is maintained for equipment category as a combination of ALFA Numeric, for certain combinations, system accepts while creating Equipment and for certain combination of ALFA numeric number, system is throwing error " equipment number not in external number interval".
    Waiting for your valuable inputs..
    Thanks

    Hi
As your define No. Range is :000AAA-1000 to 000ZZZ-9999.You can Not use No which Involves the Alphbatic Value as "AAA" As it is begaining of your number range .You can Check another upcomimg number which just fall after "AAA" is "ABA"it will accept.Number which come with "AAA" will not accept by system. So you need to start your numbering form the next number of your Define Lower Limit(starting point) value that is "ABA-....."

  • Business area in asset retirement

    Hi,
While retiring the asset(t.code F-92), we get an error message
"Account assignment not possible (Asset not assigned to a business area)".
But in asset master(time dep tab), business area is assigned to the asset.
    The version is 5.0.
What should be the problem. In FSV and PF BA is optional field.
Can any one help me out in this. Please
    Thanks,
    Chandru

    Hello
Assets are assigned to a single business area in their master record. Every posting to an asset balance sheet account is automatically posted to that business area. The business area for an asset is passed on to all line items connected with the asset. Therefore you do not need to make a manual account assignment for a business area at any point.

  • Trnasfer of Asset frm one Business Area to Another in same Company code

    Hi Experts
In my Asset Accounting Business Area is mandatory field and when I transfer asset from one business area to another business area system change the asset number from old to new number, the problem is that suppose asset A with useful life of 10 years already utilized three years in business area 1010 and after three years when I transfer this asset to another business area 1020 system again calculate 10 years in new asset which is wrong it should be seven years because 3 years already used in previous business area, please help me that how to resolve this issue.

    Hi
If you are transferring to a new asset - You can maintain the useful life in the new asset master as 7 yrs
Else, do the settings in IMG > AA > Transactions > Transfers > Inter CO Asset Trf > Define Trf variants.... Here, you can try to configure which fields must be taken over during transfers... This is usually used for Cross Comp Trf.. however, try to use in your case and see if it works

  • Automatic Business Area Derivation Rule for Vendor Line Item in MIRO

    Hello Experts,
We trying to use Business Area concept for our client.
I have completed all configuration setting for the business are derivation like
    1. Creation of Business Area
    2. Assign Business area to Plant / Division (OMJ7)
    3. Business area determination from sales area (TVTA)
    4. Business Area by Sales Area
    5. Checked Field Status Group for Customer and Vendor Reconciliation Account
It is working for for compelete sales process and in Procurement cylce it is picking business for MIGO transaction both the line items.
    But
In MIRO (Purchase invoice posting) it is automatically taking Business area to the GR/IR line item and it not taking Business area for the vendor line item (automatically)
I comes know that there is a business area derivation rule for this to happen automatically.
Can you please propose the soulution for the automatic derivation of business in MIRO for vendor line item.
    Regards,
    Chalapathi

    Hi,
I do mot think there is a BA derivation rule for MIRO.
The best you can do is:
    1.  Use a user exit or enhancement point for deriving the BA from the GR/IR line and populate that in the vendor line
    or
    2.  You make BA as a mandatory field in the field status group for the vendor reconciliation account.  This will then force the user update the BA.  We use this option.  This is so because at times, the vendor item may need a different business area than the GR/IR line.
    Cheers.

  • MAKE BUSINESS AREA MANDATORY IN ACCOUNT ASSIGNMENT TAB IN PURCHASE ORDER.

What I've done is in dev server is made BUSINESS AREA mandatoy for"A" asset acc assign category, so that while creating a capital purchse order, one should mandatory give input at BUSINESS AREA field in purchase order.
This all setting i've done in OME9.
Till now everything is OK in PO creation except the fact that system is not asking for Business area, infact it is picking the same business area which is present in asset code.
i.e. when i give asset code, it is automatically proposing the business area from asset code and instead i want the system to compulsory ask for business area.
By this I can be sure that the asset code authenticity...
    Thanks and Regards...

go to SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Purchase order > defiene screen layout at document level
and check for the field "Business Area". to do the field as mandatory, the field should be available here.

  • Business area assignment for Tax GL

    hai,
I have one issue that business area is mandatory for all GL's. Now one sales entry was posted through SD, at the time system shows message that, Tax GL requires business area. How i enter business are in this case?
Business area, Plant and Division combination is already there.
    govind.

    Hi
i had faced a similar problem a few days back with one of our customers and it took a lot of time to find a resolution to it.
By Default, SAP will not show business area in the report FBL3N for the tax account in the entry view. however, if you see the transaction in GL view, you will see that the business area is captured even in tax accounts. This is a more cumbersome process.
Pls use the report FAGLL03 for the particular tax account. Please note that you will have to display the hidden Business Area through change layout screen (ctrl+F8) when you have got the output. You can then filter down the data on a particular field. Pls note that this report will be avialable on SAP ECC 6.0 and is not avilable on the lower versions.
If this solves your problem, please assign the highest possible points.

  • Business area not Flowing for GL

    Dear Guru's
As per Our Client Requirment We Have activated Document Splitting And New GL Concept Based On Business Area  (Plant and Division) Concept
In FB03 We are Able to See Entry View and General Ledger View with respect to  Business Area. However while posting entries with Output tax system is not able To capture Business area with Output Tax.
    Entry as Follows
Output Tax -CR (Without Business Area )
Customer -DR (Business Area Available )
    Domestic Revenue/Foreign Revenue -CR(Business Area Available )

    Hello Kiran,
It is hardcoded that Business Area is never passed to tax line.
This is standard behaviour, documented in note 199886.
If you want to get a different behaviour, then you could use the
userexit EXIT_SAPLV60B_006 (member of enhancement SDVFX006).
In form ACCOUNTING_TAX_LINE in program LV60BF00 there are these lines:
        MOVE-CORRESPONDING xvbrp TO xaccit.    (1)
      CLEAR xaccit-gsber.                      (2)
        CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '006'           (3)
           EXPORTING
              xaccit = xaccit
              vbrk  = vbrk
              xvbrp = xvbrp
              xkomv = xkomv
           IMPORTING
              xaccit = xaccit.
In line (1) the business area is copied from item billing field
XVBRP-GSBER into the SD-FI interface field XACCIT-GSBER (togheter
with all the fields having same name)
In line (2) the field XACCIT-GSBER is cleared.
In line (3) the userexit EXIT_SAPLV60B_006 is called where in you can do the coding for obtaining the required behaviour.

  • T.code MIGO: how to valorize the filed BUSINESS AREA?

    Hi All,
in a document created by MIGO, I can see valirized the field BSUSINESS AREA.
Could anyone when (by which t.code) this field has been filled in?
    Thanks

    Hello,
In MM module, While material document is creating, system get business area from customizing.
You can assign business area to your plant and division for material movement.
    Call SPRO
Enterprise Structure -> Assignment -> Logistics - General -> Assign Business Area to Plant/Valuation Area and Division
For example, you're creating an initial stock value with using 561 movement type for plant A and you material division value is 10.
System goes to above customizing and search business area plant A and division value 10. If it finds, system post document wtih this business area.
