Business Content Display Problem in SAP BW 3.5

Hi BW Gurus,
We are facing some tricky problem in BW 3.5
Details are below.

in RSA1 Trcode am not able to see Business Content tab at all,but when i click on Transport Connection tab then i could see Business Content tab but NO objects are displayed in left Frame like InfoProviders by InfoAreas ,InfoObjects by Applicaton Component ,and even when i use the RSORBCT Tcode also the same sort of display.
Has anyone faced this problem earlier and solved if YES pls help in this regard as it is very urgent for me.

#1. Check your SAP GUI version.
#2. I recently had what MIGHT be a similar problem. In using BEx WAD, my screen did not correctly display some of the components. The cause was a file that held status information on my screen properties, a file that had become corrupted. To solve the problem, all I had to do was log off all SAP components, then delete all files in the directory c:\documents and settings\[userid]\Local Settings\Temp.
Worked for me. If it works for you, email me an ice-cream cone!

    In BI7 we don't have standard Transformation(BC) so we have to install transfer rules and update rules then try to migrate 3.x to 7.0 data source after that you can create transformation manually,
    Its better to install BC with grouping only necessary object coz when you select grouping after or before it will search whether you have authorization to activate ds in source system r not then if you don't have authorization you may get errors.
                      Then migrate the 3.x data source to bi7 data source by using rsds tcode.

  • IPhone apps store content display problem

    Hi all
    I am experiencing display issues on the apps store on the iPhone only. I'm on 6.1.3 and I don't have the issue on iPad.
    Text is overlapping with pictures and descriptions. It really does look like a mess. Button "buy" or "Free" are enormous. This is impossible to browse properly. I have screenshots to share.
    It is happening for the past 2 weeks now and I thought it was an apple server problem but it persists. I have erased network settings and also all settings. Not content and settings. I don't want to have to do a restore as new just for that.
    Any ideas what to do?

    This is a problem in your phone, not the App store.  Try the following steps as needed:
    1. Reset phone (no data loss):  Press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
    2. After backing up, Restore phone in iTunes using the backup (no data loss).
    3. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup.

  • Content display problem

    Hi All,
    i have made a portlet in which i am using rich text editor for talking description of a portlet suppose i copied the content from the website and put it in description section as,
    �Kizashi�
    after click on save button it shows the content like as,
    �??Kizashi�??
    In this portlet, i have checked all of special character like single quotes and double quotes. When i put any infortion manually using single quote and double quote it works properly.
    here i have a problem how content( like �Kizashi�) changes into content(like �??Kizashi�??).
    Please help me to out of this problem.

    Looks like a character encoding mismatch i.e. your browser and server code have a different notion of what character encoding they are using.
    You may need either to change the character encoding on the page, or set it explicitly in the request object before reading the parameter.

  • Af:popup content display problem in Internet explorer 9

    Hi All,
    I have Jdev version 11.1.1.5.
    The content of dialog window has not been displayed on click of Popup. It displays fine on Firefox and Chrome browsers.
    It's displaying blank popup window on Internet Explorer 9.

  • Business content activation problem ?

    Hello ,
    I am trying to activate material movement multiprovider with data flow before and after option .
    Logically with this option , all infoobject should also get activated which is related to this multiprovider , but in my case it is not happening , and i have to activate this multiprovider separetly which is very lenthy job .
    Could you please advice me , why it could happen and how to solve ?

    Hi Akshay,
    First can u give us the error for the infoobject you getting?
    Second please select the grouping mode "before" only. I say this because in before and afterward collection mode there could be multiple of objects and dependencies on it which could create an error while activating the multiprovider.
    So please do change your collection mode and try activating MP again. You wont be able to view the standard reports on the MP but you can collect this again by selecting the grouping mode "Only necessary objects" and check the query box. It will activate & install the std queries on infobjects.
    Do send the long text for the error message if you receive any.

    As we have technical documentation for SAP BI business content BI reports on SAP HELP Portal,
    is there any link where we can find the technical documentation for business content reports supported by SAP BOBJ Rapid marts for R/3 solution like for HR module.
    I would like to know what kind of reports are available as a part of rapid mart business content and what are the measures ( key figures ), dimensions ( characteristics ) supported by each of these standard business content rapid mart reports.
    I have referred business guide and user guide for HR rapid marts but they just give an overview of what analysis can be done.But there is no technical documentation for each of the possible rapid mart reports.

    To transfer and activate a DataSource delivered by SAP with Business Content, in transaction SBIW in the source system choose Business Information Warehouse à Business Content DataSources or Activating SAP Business Content àTransfer Business Content DataSources.
    The following figure displays the DataSources in an overview according to the application component.
           2.      Select the nodes in the application component hierarchy for which you want to transfer DataSources into the active version. Do so by positioning the cursor on the node and choosing Highlight Subtree.
    The DataSources lying under the subtree and other subtrees are selected.
           3.      To check for differences between the active and delivery versions of the DataSources, choose Select Delta.
    DataSources for which differences were found in the check (for example, due to changes to the extractor) are highlighted in yellow.
           4.      To analyze the differences between active and delivered versions of a particular DataSource, select the DataSource and choose Version Comparison. The application log contains further information regarding the version comparison.
           5.      To transfer a DataSource from the delivery version into the active version, select it in the overview tree using the button Highlight Subtree and choose Transfer DataSources.
    If an error occurs, the error log appears.
    Regardless of whether data has been successfully transferred into the active version, you can call the log by choosing Display Log.
           6.      To provide the active version of the DataSource in the connected BI systems and to enable data extraction and transfer, replicate the DataSource(s) with a metadata upload to the BI system.
    and in RSA1 in businuess content search ur required cube and select all the req fielsds in the next colums and select before and after is a must..in the selection field..
    this will solve ur issue..

  • Business Content Installation

    Hello to all,
      I have a problem while installing Business content.
    As per SAP Documentation...I selected the Cube and selected Before and After grouping option. Ex: 0CSAL_C01.
    I checked the dependent objects under Info Objects for 0CSAL_C01. For some of the objects it's selected MATCH (to prevent overwrite and this is set as default).
    Then I installed in back ground mode option.
    Once the installation is done the 0COSTCENTER is overwritten (even if I selected Match option and it de-selected Install).
    Can any one please explain me why this is happened? Any documentation on it?
    Does background mode not recommended? Does it always overwrite???

    SAP recommends you use the Install in Background option, because installing a large number of objects can take a long time. Modifying objects that are already active can take an especially long time. Make sure that when you install objects in the background, the versions are not matched; the delivery version is always installed. They are not matched against any available customer versions.
    Does it mean that even if I select match, will it overwrite?

    Hi Sridhar,
    In the main menu of the SAP Business Information Warehouse select BW Administration ->Administrator Workbench.
    Select the Business Content function area using the corresponding pushbutton in the left-hand navigation window or by Jump -> Install Business Content
    With the pushbutton  Navigation Window On/Off on the application toolbar in the Administrator Workbench, you can show or hide the left-hand navigation window. We assume that the navigation window remains hidden in the following section.
    If you want to assign source systems, select  Assignment Source System. The Select Source System as Default dialog window appears.
    Select one or more source systems by setting the corresponding indicators in the Default Assignment column.
    The assignment of source systems is only relevant for transfer rules, file DataSources and InfoPackages. If there is more than one source system, only those objects assigned to the specified source system are collected for the transfer. Objects that have not been assigned to the specified source systems are ignored.
    If you do not select a source system, all source systems are automatically assigned.
    You can subsequently change the selection you made using  Source System Assignment .
    Change the required settings in the following selection list:
    Grouping
    Choose the objects that you want the system to consider. The groupings summarize all the objects of an area.
    Grouping
    Information
    Only necessary objects (standard setting)
    Only those objects that are really necessary for the action, that is, the transport of the selected objects, are taken into account (minimal selection).
    In data flow before
    All objects are collected that submit data to a collected object.
    In data flow after
    All objects are collected that obtain data from a collected object.
    In data flow before and after
    All objects are collected that both submit and collect data.
    If you change the default setting ( only necessary objects), the new setting will be used as a standard for the user.
    Collection Mode
    Select how you want to collect the objects:
    Collection Mode
    Information
    automatic collection (standard setting).
    The data is collected directly when the objects are selected.
    Start manual collection
    The data is only collected when you select  Collect dependent objects.
    Select an Object Type you want to transfer.
    You have various selection options in the navigation window in the Business Content function area of the Administrator Workbench.
    When you select an object type, the arrangement and selection of the existing objects are displayed in the tree structure of the central screen area as below:
    Object Type in the Administrator Workbench Navigation Window.
    Display objects in the tree structure in the central screen area.

    List of InfoCubes and ODS objects by InfoAreas.

    List of objects by type (InfoArea, application, InfoObject catalog, role, workbook, query element, InfoSet query, Crystal Reports template, Web template, Web item, saved query view, MultiProvider, InfoCube, InfoObject, InfoSet, Classic InfoSet, ODS object, update rules, InfoSource transaction data, transfer rules, source system, InfoPackage group, InfoPackage, process chain, Reporting Agent, report/report interface, currency conversion type
    Objects in BW Patch
    List of installed BW patches including list of objects newly delivered or re-delivered with the respective patch.
    Package
    List of packages in which there are SAP objects.
    Select the object(s) you want to transfer in the central screen area and transfer them into the right-hand Collected Objects screen area by drag and drop.
    Using  Search for Object, you can also search for objects by a string (for example, 0CUST) or by pattern (for example, 0CUST_*B).
    You can display a value help for every object type: By double clicking on  Select Objects in the tree structure of the corresponding object type, the screen Value Help for Metadata appears. Select the required objects. Choose  Transfer selections.
    You can only use Business Content DataSources of a source system for transferring data in BW, when you have transferred these in their active forms and then copied them into the BW system.
    The system displays the selected object(s) and all dependent objects in the Collected Objects screen area. To reduce the time taken to access the objects when wanting to use them again, the collected objects are stored by default in the Repository Cache.
    When transferring the objects to the Collected Objects screen area, the objects are added at the same time to the tree structure of the corresponding object type in the central screen area and are saved for the respective user. This personal object list is available every time the program is restarted.
    To remove objects from the personal list, select the object in question and choose Remove Object from Display via the context menu or via .
    Objects that are listed in several tree structures are only displayed as changeable the first time they appear. Each time they are listed again, they are highlighted in gray and are not ready for input.
    Check the following columns in the Collected Objects screen area:
    The following Business Content objects are highlighted in the Transfer column by default:
    Objects transferred for the first time
    Objects delivered again in a new version from Business Content.
    When the SAP delivery version and the active version can be compared, a check box is shown in the column Compare (X) or Copy.
    There is a check mark in this checkbox by default. In this case, your version is compared with the new SAP delivery version and complimented.
    If you remove the indicator then the new SAP delivery version is copied in its entirety.
    Date symbol: The object is already available in an active version. However, the active version belongs to an older Content Release. We recommend that you adopt the new version
    Gray Selection : There is an active version in the system, but the object status is given as inactive. The object has to be subsequently edited.
    In the Active Version Available column, there are the following display options:
    Indicator
    Meaning
    No Indicator
    The object is not available in an active version.
    The object is available in an active version. You can decide whether to retain this version or adopt again.
    Change the required settings in the following selection list :
    Transfer Type
    Information
    Simulate transfer
    A test is made to see if errors are likely to occur during the transfer. The most important objects can be checked in the simulation. However, this does not include all dependent objects Therefore, only use the simulation as an orientation help to be able to recognize errors and remove them.
    Transfer
    The selected objects are transferred immediately.
    Transfer in background
    The selected objects are transferred in the background.
    Transfer and transport
    The selected objects are transferred immediately and then written to a transport request in the connection.
    We recommend Transfer in the Background, because transferring a large number of objects and especially changing already active objects can take up a lot of time.
    You can find out if errors have occurred during the installation of Business Content from a log, which you can request using the  Log pushbutton. Repair the errors in the respective maintenance transaction. Try to transfer the Business Content again.

    I would like to know the infosource of 0SR_C01 procurement overview(aggregated) cube. while on help.sap it shows 0SR_MC01 as a multiprovider for 0SR_C01. But could not find the infosource for the same.

    DataSources
    New DataSources have been created for NW 2004s BI Content Add-On 2 and SRM 5.0. These are described here, along with their extraction logic.
    The following graphic shows the data flow from the DataSources to the DataStore objects
    Structure
    Each DataSource has an extraction structure and a data extractor. Generally, this is an RFC-capable function module.
    There are two types of extraction: Specific extraction and generic extraction:
    Specific extraction is strongly oriented towards the data model of the BI System and the necessary extract structure. It executes DataSource-specific processing steps.
    The logic contained within the generic extraction is implemented centrally and can therefore be reused by the specific extraction modules. The generic extraction deals with access to the SRM database and is similar for each DataSource.
    Generic and specific extraction
    Extraction logic in detail
    Data extraction involves the following six function modules:
    InitLoad
    InitLoad is called as soon as an initial upload is started in the BI System. In other words, it is executed when data is loaded into the BI System for the first time. The module can restrict the data extraction according to filter criteria that were defined in BI during extraction (for example, extract the data for a particular timeframe). InitLoad packages the data before it is transferred to the BI System.
    DeltaLoad
    DeltaLoad is called when a document is modified in the SRM System. The module writes data that has accumulated since the initial loading to a delta queue.
    Data Collector
    The Collector reads the required data from the database in the source system. For performance reasons, the data is then buffered in system-internal tables. The tables have the same structure as in the database. This saves time and effort, because data conversion is kept to a minimum.
    Data Consolidator
    The Consolidator groups data that belongs together from a business point of view. The consolidated data is stored in internal tables and is prepared for further processing.
    Data Normalizer
    The Denormalizer prepares the source data for the BI System. It calculates key figures that are required for the report but are not contained on the database and converts data types in the source system to data types of the BI System. Depending on the BI data model, the system now decides how each row is filled with data.
    Data Mapper
    During mapping of the data, the system defines which fields of the denormalized data structure are assigned to the fields of the extract structure. In this way, flat and one-dimensional lines are generated from the data.

    Iam having a reporting requirement, having fileds vendor no(0vendor), PO number(EKPO-EBELN), Item no.(EKPO-EBELP),Material No.(0material), Material Description(MAKT-MAKTX), Tracking no(EKPO-BEDNR),Order quantity(0 PO_QTY (OR) 0ORDER_QUAN), Received Quantity(0GR_QTY), Date Received ( ?), Price(0NETPRICE).
    I found these fields for infocube Purchasing data 0PUR_C01 and Infosource  2LIS_01_ITM.
    Could u plz advice me the infoobjects I got correct r not and some info. Regarding the other infoobjects which I couldn’t able to find it.

    I think it will surely have PO number,Item number etc in it.
    If u see that some required infoobjects arent in the std one,u may have to enhance the cube.
    Search in other BC cubes to see which suitable infoobjects u can use.
    Copy out the BC cube and enhance the copy.Name the copy as 'Z(BC cube tech name)'.
