Business Scenario - Crowd thinking question

Hello Experts,
Following is the business requirement
Customer gives order for a product A. Product A is essentially made up of following bom
Item B – Assembly product that consists of Item C – motherboard and Item D – software
Item B is supplied by our Vendor as a complete assembly and made up of C & D
At our assembly we receive item B and then add value in terms of testing, loading software and then send the tested product A to our customer
Seems pretty straightforward right?
Normal SAP Solution would be
Create Sale order for A & generate Production order for A
A contains item B supplied by Vendor as complete assembly
Receive item B and issue to Production order of A
Confirm production order  for labor hours related to testing and loading software
However, here is the curve ball….
Product A is really a variable product. It will contain Item B which can be made up of item C, Or E or Z…
Essentially B is derived based on what the client needs and can be highly configurable. Going for Variant Configuration is not an option we want to pursue at this time. Hence we doing workaround solution of creating Item B as a new BOM based on customer needs.
The main challenge is arriving at true costs for Product A. The cost would keep changing based on what configuration Customer needs. Based on the costs of assembling Product A, we would add our margin and suggest price to customer.
Please send me your ideas. I would love to get thinking of our Experts.
Thanks in advance & Regards

Hi Shenoy ,
Could you try with Group BOM ,
As base of Variant Config , that could support at ease for your business requirement

  • How to connect steps in business scenario

    Hello,
After creating a project in Solution Manager, creating a business scenario in that project and creating a custom business process in my scenario, Iu2019ve defined the necessary steps that I want in my process. These steps involve 2 different logical components, a component specified for a SAP XI/PI system and a logical component for SAP ECC system.
The business process will involve interaction between the two logical components where Idocs will be exchanged. My first issue is, in transaction SOLAR01 when I click the tab Graphic, Iu2019m able to see the two separate components each with their steps but with no connection or relation between them or with any step order.  Where can I define the order and flow for the steps in the business process? After defining the flow, will the connections be presented in the graphic?
One other question, if this business process involve interfaces, should I define this as a business scenario or as an Interface Scenario? What is the main difference between these two objects? Canu2019t I have only business scenarios and define the steps as interfaces?
    Thank your for the attention.
    Best regards,
    Goncalo Mouro Vaz

    Hello,
please be aware that only business process maintained in the operations part of SAP Solution Manager. i.e. the Solution Directory, are available for Business Process Monitoring. Processes defined within SOLAR01 are in the project part and hence not directly available for monitoring. But those processes can be copied into the Solution Directory.
For BPMon only "Business Scenraios" are of interest. "Interface Scenarios" need not be maintained but can be used for additional documentation purposes.

  • Steel Industry Business Scenario  and Requirement

    Dear Experts,
    Business Scenario:
Material is procured and made Goods Receipt ,Material is issued to Shop floor.
Shop floor records the number of cycles or heats the material has under gone  and gives a report to finance .
based on report finance intimates supplier to collect payment for perfomance acheived .
for 100 heats material completed , 25 % payment made up on receipt of invoice.
for further 200 heats completed , 50 % payment made up on further receipt of invoice.
when expected performance of material reached or crossed remaining payment of material is done up on receipt of final invoice from Supplier.
Vendor is the owner of stock till final payment is finished .
    Requirement:
how to map the Scenario in sap .
whether u need to go for any specific material type to adress this issue.
what will be procurement process and payment process , standard or any work around required .
    Please advice on this scenario.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Injeti

    Dear,
So in that case, I prefer to go for Consignment scenario.
Consignment u2013 the vendor provides you with materials which you manage on your premises as port of consignment stock. A liability does not arise until the material is withdrawn from consignment stores.
The stock supplied by the vendor is in the companies premises with the company having no liability for the same.  The liability for the company will only be affected when the goods are issued from the consignment stock for use.
Create consignment info record with proper tax code, create Po with item category K, maintain output condition record for KONS, process GR, no invoice verification done, but settlement is done through MRKO transaction.
I prefer this to be done once you receive the final report from SHOP floor. I think you got the point.
The material is available in your company premises. Let the work perform by all departments. Untill you get the report with heat details for final payment to vendor. Start the process as mentioned above, create PO with conditions, goods receipt and settle the payments.
I am getting this idea, any further ideas or suggestions, share.

  • Business scenario in ID and IR

In XI 2.0 Business scenario in ID has only name to identify the config.
But in XI 3.0 how do you differentiate Business scenario in ID and IR

    Hey Gabriel,
I think you are getting confused between Integration Scenario and Business Scenario.
Business Scenario's are build using ID where are Intergration Scenario's build using IR.

  • Add Configuration & Business Scenario in SOLAR02

    Hi all,
I was trying to add item under Configuration and also Business Scenario folder (tcode SOLAR02). And the standard imported folders when I chose SAP ERP 6.0 are Basic configurations for Configuration folder, and only six business scenarios under Business Scenarios.
Since I am not a business person, does anyone know (anyone who ever used this functionality) that the imported business scenarios have covers all possibility scenarios in ERP? The same question for Configuration folder, there was only a few configuration items i recognize from SPRO tcode, many were missing. Does it mean that we have to add our own folder for each configuration tree from SPRO tcode? Is it the way this feature works?
    Thanks

  • BPM - Restict display of Business Scenarios and Processes to Process Owners

    Hello Experts,
I have thoroughly researched but have been unable to find an answer to this question. Is it possible within BPM to filter either the business scenario or processes to the owners of that process or scenario. For example if I have BPMon turned on for Finance or OTC scenarios, I only want the people in finance to be able to view and monitor only their finance processes when they receive their alert and the same for OTC and the other process teams. Even at the process level I only want certain process owners to only have access to the processes that they are monitoring. Do you guys know if this is at all possible either through the work centers or dswp to restrict they view based on the business scenario or process?
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hello Mike,
at the moment there exists only an authorization object on "Solution"-level. So if it is an absolute must to allow views on different processes you would have to plit it into different solutions. But I don't recommend that as you might end up with an unnecessary amount of solutions.
The problem is known for some time and we forwarded it to the group which is generally responsible for the graphical display in Solution Manager, as we are only responsible for BPMon. The plan is to provide the option to create different views containing one or several processes and assigning then only these views to different users or user groups.
The shipment of this solution was targeted for ST400 SP23 but I have currently no information if it is finally within this Support Package.
I will try to follow up on this.

  • What business scenario require both of these setting

    Hi QM gurus,
May I know if system allows both the Physical Sample Drawing and Sample Determination to happen at the sametime.
In another word, I assign sampling procedure using sampling schema for the activity of sample size, and in the meantime, there is a physical Sample Type being assign to the inspection type.
Thus under the above scenario both the physical sample drawing and sample size determination will take place during inspection lot creation.
I would assume system would allow this kind of setting to happen in the system, but my question is under what kind of business scenario does the this kind of setting (ie. both functions: physical sample drawing and sample size determination) require?
    Thanks
    karen

    Hi
When you are using a sampling derawing procedure in the Task list then You have to use the Inpsection point related to physical sampling.
Now when you use Inspection point with physical sampling the sample size at the char level will only be determined by sampling procudre & sample size of the lot will be determined by sample drawing procedure.
so in short sampling procedure in applied at char level & sample drawing procdure is for lot level(sample size).

  • Solution Manager - MAM business Scenario/ECC 6.0

    Experts,
Our environment: ECC 6.0, xMAM 3.0, SM 4.0.
Issue: I am facing an issue when adding scenario related to Plant Maintenance. When I add the "Enterprise Asset Management" for ECC 6.0 which is under SAP Service & Asset Management, I am not able to see processes related to Mobile Asset Management.
    Any pointers?
    Note:
In our Dev ECC, MAM is available under Plant Maintenance and Customer Service (SPRO).
Solution Manager Path: Business Blueprint/Adding a Business Scenario.

    Hi Amit,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
We are on ST-ICO 10, which is the latest.  Still not showing up.
I have a question  on the version that shows up in the scenarios.
When we add the scenario,  under SAP Service and Asset Management/Enterprise Asset Management, I don't see the ECC 6.0 option.  i see that option for FI, HR, and other processes. I just see the ECC 5.0 option.

  • Tighten inspection business scenario in DMR setup

    Hi all,
I have the following two scenario on DMR, hope you can answer me. Appreciated.
    Sccenario A
May I know when the tighten inspection incurs as a result of dynamic modification rule, normally, what will the consequence on checking in term of business scenario, let say for example, we would like the the tightening inspection to be something likeu2026
Sample size: increase to 10% compare to current level of stock quantity.
The reject number of failed stock must be lower compare to current level of reject level.
    Question 1
My 1st question is do I have to set this kind of tighten inspection in sampling schema?
    Scenario B
Currently I have sampling schema setup with the following Inspection level/AQL value:
    Inspection Level --------------------------------- AQL value
    1 u2013 Inspection with Sampling Schema --------------- 1.00
    2 u2013 Reduced Inspection ---------------------------- 1.00
    4 u2013 Normal Inspection ----------------------------- 1.00
    6 u2013 Tightened Inspection -------------------------- 1.00
This sampling schema is assigned to a sampling procedure, with the ADDITIONAL DATA value (i.e. additional data reference to sampling scheme) to inspection severity 4 and AQL value 1.00.
This sampling procedure is assigned to an inspection plan with material A, and plant 1000. Further I have created a DMR and assigned it to this sampling procedure in Tcode QDB1 (assign sampling procedure) table.
Next, an inspection lot is created and is rejected on usage decision. My DMR machanism kicks-in and update the next inspection stage as the u201CThighten Inspectionu201D stage.
    Question 2
    Thus, my 2nd question is:
Does the system going to perform the valuation (i.e. to reject and to accept a result recording) based on the above inspection level of 6 (i.e. Tightened Inspection) sample plan specified on the schema BECAUSE the new inspection stage now is u201CThighten Inspectionu201D stage??
If not like what I said, I am wondering how R/3 going to perform the logic on the new inspection stage when the DMR kicks-in for the next inspection lot?
    Thanks
    YY

    Dear Yong
Tighetened inspection represents its literal meaning of tightening the insepection.
    1) Tighetened can be done in many ways for eg
    a) You increase the no of inspection for this material
    b) Increase the sampling size and acceptance number for the material
This is all based on what you define in the system. It is not mandatory that you have to mention tightened inspection but it is more of a functional need
    2) System will valuate based on the acceptance number and AQL value which you have mentioned in the sampling scheme if the stage mentioned is Tighetened
    Hope this gives some idea
    Regards

  • Outbound Certificate with following business scenario

    Hi
My client (components industry) has the following business scenario:
    1)     Quality Inspection at Goods-In for raw material
    2)     Quality Inspection at Goods-In for semi-finish products
    3)     Quality Inspection during Production (first and last PP operation with MIC)
    4)     Quality Inspection at Delivery to the customer for the Finished product*
*Finish product contains raw material and semi-finish product inspected in process 1 and 2.
A Certificate Of Conformaty is required to be attached on the delivery with following information:
    u2022     Results of point 1
    u2022     Results of point 2
    u2022     Results of point 3
    u2022     Results of point 4
My question is, what is the SAP solution to cope above business scenario taking into account the batch management and serial number are not implemented? or more precisely how the system track and tight the MIC recorded in each stage (goods-in, production, delivery) described above and put together on COC with the corresponding results?
Possibly this topic has been broadly discussed but I am getting hardly confused. Not sure if the batch management is mandatory for this business scenario. If it is needed further details please let me know.
    Thank you

    Batch managemnet would be required.
You will want to report the results from the batch for point 3, (finished goods inspection), use the certificate functionality of resutls from the production chain to pick up data from points 1, & 2, and report the data from master inspection characteristics from the type 10 inspection lot, (delivery inspection).

  • Creating a Business Scenario for CPM BPC 10

    Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to create a Business Scenario within my Solution Manager (TCode: SOLAR01). But I've don't see any option related to our version of our Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC 10). The only option I see that is close enough is "SAP BusinessObjects Business Planning and Consolidation" but it shows an older product version "SAP BPC 7.0 FOR MICROSOFT, SAP BPC 7.0 FOR SAP NETWEAVER".
To be clear, the ff is what I'm trying to do.
    Steps:
    1. TCode SOLAR01
    2. Project >> Business Scenarios
    3. Source = Business Process Repository
    4. Add Scenario Name (F4)
Our SAP BPC software has been installed within our "SAP Netweaver AS ABAP 7.31" as the following Software Component:
    Software Component: CPMBPC
    Release: 801
    Level: 0001
    Highest Support Package: SAPK-80101INCPMBPC
Description: CPM Business Planning and Consolidation
So my question is, how do I properly add the business scenario that matches my BPC 10 software component? Is there anything I must do/check first?
Apologies if this might sound very basic, but I'm new to Solman.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,
I have the same scenario in my environment consisting of Solution Manager 7.0, "SAP Business Objects Business Planning and Consolidation" but it shows an older product version "SAP BPC 7.0 FOR MICROSOFT, " Only
But in Solution Manager 7.1 System it is showing both ""SAP BPC 7.0 FOR MICROSOFT,SAP BPC 7.0 FOR SAP NET WEAVER".
Please Suggest is anything needs to be done in Solman 7.0 System  ?
