BUTTON FOR PRINT A REPORT

Hi Guys!!
Hey, I need to print "directly" in the local printer or in the default windows printer, a report without download it to excell or PFD. Is there a way or a scrip to create a button to do this on the Web Application Designer?

Thanx for your replies, both answers are very usefull, but i still have some issues applying your solutions, first, the pice of javascript that Arun shows it's very usefull and it works in an excellent way, but, is there another pice of JavaScript that i can use to print without the header line and the footprint and also in an horizontal way?, this is because some reports are to wide to print it as the default print option. i search on several pages, blogs and forums but i cant find something that can correctly apply on this.
And about the button with the command "[LAUNCH_BROADCASTER]". that Pradnya shows, i made the button and insert this command, but when i hit the button instead of the Bex Broadcaster wizard, it shows me an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" window. my reports are published in the BI Portal, not via Bex Broadcaster, is it could be the problem?, do i have to make a setting or how can i solve this issue?

Use dot matrix printers for printing text reports in Reports 10g

In Forms 6i, customers had the option to use dot matrix printers for printing text reports.
I believe, from 9i onwards, text based reports aren’t supported and instead HTML/PDF,DOC,RTF reports are supported which are not text based and use modern day printers.
Is it still possible to use text printers ??

Hide button for print

Hi All.
In my form I have a button and I would like to hide it when I print the form. I select the button and go to the Object > Field tab. Then in a presence dropdown select 'Visible (screen only)'. But when I print the form the the button was printed. How to hide the button for print and show for screen?

The option you set in the properties should work as expected. Not sure why the button is getting printed.
Try placing the below code in the prePrint event of the button you want to hide in printing.

Can we have a "print button" to print a massive report document (e.g 3000 page , each for a specific customer description), instead of exporting to pdf or excell before printing.. ?

You cannot have a print Button in the report, But have you tried Scheduling the report, and setting the output to printer? That might meet your requirement. You can also use the schedule section to run it immediately (once)

Dynamic table height for Printed PO Report

I have created a RTF template for Printed Purchase Order report using Microsoft Word. The template has Header and Line information. I have two questions.
1) Lines are printed in Table format. I also print header level notes in Line Section.
If the header notes are blank, I want the line information (line #, Item Number, Description, quantity etc) to be moved to line1. How do I acheive this?
I want to dynamically adjust the Table height based on the information printing in the line section. The table has two rows. One for Header notes and one for Line information.
2) Header notes field is placed in Description column of Line Table (MS word). Currently Header notes are printing within the Description column as wrapped text. I want to print Header notes in one line. How do I expand this field to print in one line?

Even I faced the same problem, however I have found a workaround to come out of this problem.
My PO design template has 16 lines, I am counting the number of lines with data and subtracting the same from 16 and inserting that many empty rows to increase the table height.
I am pasting the code so that it will be useful for others.
Paste this code before LINES_ROW for-each loop. This will give the number of lines present.

BUTTON FOR PRINTING A RANGE OF PAGES

I need to create a button that prints only a specific range of pages. So far I´ve been using this script:
>this.print (false, this.pageNum, this.pageNum);
>// print a file silently
>this.print({bUI:false,bSilent:true,bShrinkToFit:true});
But the button is doing nothing. Any help welcome.

First you should look at the click event of the print button for the xfa.host method for printing.
Also you must know, that "this" doesn't give you the Doc object. In Designer 7 you must use "event.target" to get it. As I think
event.target.print...
should run.

Dynamically set template for Print Quote report

We need to customize "Print Quote" in Quoting
As part of this we will be having 2 custom templates (will be related to data definition "Quote Printing", ASOPRT).
These two templates have to be defaulted based on the quote status - one for status "Approved", and the other template for other non "Approved" statuses.
How can this be achieved dynamically? (OAF CO customization / personilization)
There doesn't seem to be any setup for assigning different templates based on status.
Profile option "ASO: Default Layout Template" can be utilized to change the default template, but we need this template to be defaulted dynamically based on the Quote status.

Hi ADF Experts,
Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7.0 version.
I am having a Print Button. On click of this I want to open a new window? how is it possible. Note it should not be a popup or panelwindow.

InDesign CS5 or 5.5 interactive pdfs - can I create a button for printing?

Hello lovely InDesign experts.
I am creating an interactive pdf using CS 5.5 and would like to have a button on each page that, when pushed, opens a print window (so the user can print the page, or range of pages, if they want). I know you can do this to the finished pdf in Acrobat but would prefer to keep everything in InDesign if possible.

Can we have one submit button for mutliple report regions querying same tbl

Hello,
I have a normal multiple report regions in a page with some editable in those regions, these report regions are querying the same table. Now, Is it possible to have one submit button for all the report regions to update the underlying table data?
Can anyone please help me out with this one.

First you'll almost certainly need to roll your own - the built-in stuff is fairly basic and more than likely won't help.
It sounds like your process flow should be something like:
1) Person clicks button.
2) You do a select for update in the process to get the loan id and put it in the person's queue. At this point you may want to flag that column as having been assigned so it can't be assigned again.
3) You then forward them to the form to enter data. Personally I would create my own items and processses and forgo the built-in form stuff but you may be able to use the Automated Row Fetch. If you do your own, you just reference the objects like:
insert into table
values(:P1_1, :P1_2, :P1_3)Edit - Another way would be to use a regular form and insert Stop/Start Tables - so it can look like a different section, but it really is just a label. Thats another option.

How to print a report in landscape?

I am using crystal report for visual studio 2010 and I buid a win form test application in c#. I add a crystalReportViewer1, and reportDocument1(unTyped) on the form. In the design time the report (.rpt) is in portrait paper orientation. I want to change the paper orientation to landscape at the runtime. The code snippet is as followed,

Open the report up and check on the Dissociate... option or do it in code and also.

You can use the below useful information to add Puhs Button for 'PRINT' on the output of the List which is generated.
You will have a Menu List-> Print with a Functionality(SY-UCOMM). You will have to assign the Function Code of the Print from Menu to your Push Button and accordingly whenever a user clicks on either from Menu or Push Button he can print the List.
Pushbuttons in the Application Toolbar
In the application toolbar of the standard GUI status of the selection screen, five pushbuttons are predefined with the function codes FC01 to FC05, but are inactive by default. You can activate them during the definition of the selection screen as follows:
SELECTION-SCREEN FUNCTION KEY <i>.
The numbering <i> must be between 1 and 5. The individual function texts must be assigned to the FUNCTXT_0<i> components of structure SSCRFIELDS before the selection screen is called. You must declare this structure as an interface work area using the TABLES statement.
If the user chooses one of these buttons, the runtime environment triggers the AT SELECTION-SCREEN event and the function code FC0<i> is placed into the component UCOMM of the structure SSCRFIELDS.
After the AT SELECTION-SCREEN event has been processed, the system displays the selection screen again. The only way to exit the selection screen and carry on processing the program is to choose Execute (F8). Consequently, the pushbuttons on the application toolbar are more suitable for controlling dynamic modifications of the selection screen than for controlling the program flow.

How to print a report as pdf?

To print a report as PDF I added the link to the report. But when I am clicking it nothing happens. Is there anything else other than putting the link in the report to be done for printing the report as dashboard.

Printing Crystal Report to Printer from Windows Service

Hello Support,
We are currently using 13.0.3.612 version of Crystal report. We want to print the report to the printer from the windows service. For printing the report to the printer we are using the “PrintOutputController.PrintReport” method. At our end on the Windows 8 machine this method is giving following error:
Message: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.
StackTrace: at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintOutputControllerClass.PrintReport(PrintReportOptions options)
at PMLWLibrary.CrystalReport.LoadReports()
And on the Windows 7 machine the report is sent to the print spooler, however the report is not printed on the printer. Not sure what could be causing the issue. Can you please let us know what could be causing the issue.

Thank you for your response.
We tried running the service under the domain user account as well which has access to the printer, but even this fails. Further, from the regular .net application when we try to print the report to the printer, it directly prints the report without displaying any print window. So I assume that even from the service no print window should be launched. Can you please confirm on this.
We are attaching herewith the code snippet which we have used to print to printer through the service. Can you please review the same and let us know if we are missing something here.
