Button not submitting/ firing action code.

Hi All.
In Creator, I seem to be having problems with a specific page. It doesn't seem to matter how many buttons I try to drop on a page (with a number of databound controls on it), but the buttons just don't seem to fire off the backend code. according to the action property of the button, the backend code associated with that method should fire, but it just doesn't. I've tried just throwing a button on the page and putting something as simple as
log("the code in the button got fired");
return null;But even something so simple as that does not fire.
In any other page, that code works fine (obviously). I just hate the idea of having to re-develop the page from scratch when I encounter such an issue (especially after how much time it took given all the data bound controls). If anyone can point me to someone having a similar issue, or could give some feedback on this one It would help a great deal (even though this is quite ambiguous.)

you were 100% correct. I recieve the following message:
Validation Error: {0}Value is not valid
I recieve this on RadioLists that I have bound to a numerical column on an Oracle database. The String based bindings seem to work fine. Perhaps you can inform me of any mistakes I have made with the following when I expect the selection to bind to the numerical column:
Integer zero = new Integer(0);
Integer one = new Integer(1);
listYesNo = new java.util.ArrayList();
listYesNo.add(new SelectItem(one,"Yes",""));
listYesNo.add(new SelectItem(zero,"No",""));
// same error when using code as commented below too:
//        listYesNo = new java.util.ArrayList();
//        getListYesNo().add(new SelectItem("1","Yes",""));
//        getListYesNo().add(new SelectItem("0","No",""));

  • Email Submit Button not Submitting Full Form

    Hi guys
    I'm new to LiveCycle Designer, so my problem may be something very simple that I have missed.
    I have a simple form which I intend to use for my clients to book training sessions with. It will be emailed to them or downloaded from my website to be completed and the submitted to me via the email submit button on the bottom of page 2.
    My form doesn't have any fancy coding or dynamic content - just simple text fields and drop down boxes. The subform spreads 2 pages and everything is included in just the one subform.
    The email submit button composes an email with the xml file attached, but the xml file only contains the data from the tabulated fields on page 2 - page 1 is completely ignored.
    Can anyone help me out with this please, I'd really appreciate it.

    Hi,
    If you look at the Object / Binding tab and then select the various subforms and objects. You will see that on page 1 these are set to "None"; whereas you will need these set to "Normal", like the table on page 2.
    If the binding is "None" then an xml submit will not return these values. If the binding is "Normal" then the data will be returned.
    Good luck,
    Niall

  • Why h:commandlink action not get fired after upgrading to JSF-1.2_12?

    Hi,
    One strange behavior that I'm facing right now after upgrading to JSF version1.2_12, is that the action method for hidden commandlink which should get fired on changing the value of a comboBox are not getting fired. Note that I was initially using the JSF1.2_07 version and it worked fine.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Here is a sample code of what I have in my app.
    <h:panelGroup>
                   <h:selectOneMenu id="nav-menu" value="#{customBean.rowName}"
                   onchange="submitOnMenuChange(this.form,'id-link', 'nav-menu');">
                   <f:selectItem itemLabel="Select:" itemValue="" />
                   <f:selectItem itemLabel="rowName1" itemValue="rowName1"/>
                   <f:selectItem itemLabel="rowName2" itemValue="rowName2"/>
                   </h:selectOneMenu>
                   <h:commandLink id="id-link" value=" " action="#{customBean.updateAction}" style="display: none;"/>
    </h:panelGroup>
    Inside submitOnMenuChange() I'm using below technique to submit the form
    var idclValue = formId + JSF_ID_SEPARATOR + elementId;
    jsfcljs(document.forms[formId],idclValue+','+idclValue,'');
    So, ideally on changing the value from above comboBox it should invoke the updateAction method, bit it doesn't.
    Thanks,

  • Interactive Reports Action Menu buttons not working

    We are running Apex 4.02 and using theme 11 (round green). We recently upgraded to IE 10 (on windows server 2008 R2) and are now experiencing issues with all interactive reports within Apex. The Action menu is displayed correctly and the options are available but the buttons to apply the changes do not seem to respond.
    For example, I can press the Action button then select Format->Sort from the actions menu. The sort by options are displayed but nothing happens when I press the Cancel or Apply buttons. There is no error - it looks like the button press is not executing the code.
    I have searched for issues specifically related to Apex but have only been able to find references to general problems with IE 10 and Ajax calls. I'm not sure whether IRs are using Ajax as part of it's core functionality and whether this is the behaviour we are seeing.
    I'm keen to understand whether others have encountered this problem and resolved the issue somehow. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    I would have set this up somewhat differently.  I'd have all of your buttons set to pause the slide in exactly the same spot about 1.5 seconds into the slide.  To set the variable for completion of a section I would have used a standard or conditional action that was executed by the button that brings the learner back to the menu slide.  This action would set the variable and then jump back to the menu slide using the button's On Success action.  You need one of these actions per separate section in your project.
    As to why some of your buttons are not working at all...
    1. They may not be set up correctly.  Check all settings again.
    2. The buttons may be corrupted.  Delete the ones that don't work and insert new ones.  Avoid copying and pasting.
    As luck would have it, I've just completed an e-book Guide to Adobe Captivate Advanced Actions that has an entire series of practice exercises that take you step by step through creating exactly the menu slide setup that you describe.  If this project is important enough to you, it may be worth your while to consider purchasing that e-book:

  • Records are not deleting in SAP CCM (CCM2.0), eventhough Action code 03 is

    Hi all,
    We are facing a problem in SAP CCM 2.0, products are not deleting from Catalogs ( Internal Catalogs)  eventhough action code '03' ( Deletion) is passing to Catalogs.
    In case of updating and new records creation is working fine , changes are updating and new records getting added to catalogs.
    Could you please advise why deletion is not working. what would be the reason.
    Is there any other way to delete the records from the Catalog.
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    There is no standard functionality for deleting items from SRM CCM 2.0.
    Very recently, we have come across the same problem that materials/items which are deleted in SAP R/3 4.7 are not getting deleted from SRM CCM 2.0 catalog.
    We have done some analysis and found the below solution.
    - You need to send an action code "04" and drop Product Category information in XML file which XI uses to send the information from ERP to SRM CCM catalog.
    For this you need to modify the XML and XI mapping for the ZACTION code(03) received from ERP.
    Once the changes are done in XML, you re-publish the catalog.
    You will find the item/s have got deleted from the catalog.
    Note: It is important to note that even for deletion, system records action as catalog items Update/Created in the logs (SLG1) but not the action as catalog items deleted.
    Hope this helps !

  • Re: [iPlanet-JATO] Re: session timeout when not submitting to a handler

    Mark--
    I know what's happening here, but am curious about your approach. You said
    in an earlier email that you were generating links directly to JSPs, but
    from what you are describing, you are generating JATO-style links to access
    JATO pages. Nothing wrong with that, but there is a signficant difference.
    Actually, it just occurred to me, I'm wondering what your URLs look like.
    The way the request dispatching works in JATO is it ignores anything after
    an initial "." in the final part of the URL path. For example, a request
    for "/myapp/module1/MyPage.jsp" doesn't actually try to hit the JSP, instead
    it tries to hit the JATO page "/myapp/module1/MyPage".
    The end result is that you may think you are accessing a JSP directly, but
    are instead accessing a JATO page. The reason the request dispatching works
    this way is because it is illegal to access JATO JSPs directly, and there is
    actually a (disabled) JATO feature that piggybacks on the use of the
    dot-delimited URL.
    So, now I need to understand your intent. I wasn't really sure why you were
    generating direct JSP/page links to begin with. This works against the Type
    II architecture JATO uses, in which all JATO requests go back to the
    controller servlet.
    If you are trying to design something like a menu page, you may have thought
    that it was burdensome to create a number of HREF children, plus implement
    event handlers for each of them. This definitely would be burdensome beyond
    just a handful of links, but this is why JATO provides other mechanisms for
    doing what I'll call here "polymorphic HREFs".
    Assuming this menu page scenario, the easiest thing to do is to simply use
    one HREF child on the page, and add a value to it each time it is rendered
    that distinguishes it from the other instances on the page. In your event
    handler for the HREF, you simply check this value and use it to decide which
    page to forward to. You can add a value to an HREF or Button by using the
    "addExtraValue()" method. Or, if you are using JATO 1.2, you can add extra
    query string NVPs right in the JSP document using the "queryParams"
    attribute of the <jato:href> tag. Thus, your one HREFchild and event
    handler become "polymorphic" because what they do depends on the context in
    which they are invoked.
    Now, I still don't have confirmation that this is what you were trying to
    do, so until I do, let me explain the exception you're seeing. JATO assumes
    that when a request comes in for a page that includes the pageAttributes
    NVP, it is a request coming from a previously generated JATO page. Because
    of the way JATO works, this means that the request dispatching code should
    send the request back to the originally rendered page. For example, if Page
    A renders an HREF, which the user then activates, JATO sends the request
    back to Page A for handling. All of the HREFs and forms generated during
    rendering of Page A actually refer back to Page A, regardless of where those
    links or buttons actually pass the request in their event handlers/Command
    objects.
    So, what's happening when you include the pageAttributes in your HREFs is
    that JATO is assuming that a request is being sent to the target page, with
    the assumption that the target page has a mechanism in place to handle the
    request. This assumption relies on the specification of the "originator" of
    the request being specified in the request. For links/HREFs, the name and
    value of the HREF is sent along with the request. For forms, the name and
    value of the button that was pressed are sent in the request. JATO uses the
    presence of these name/value pairs to decide which event handler, or which
    Command object, to invoke to handle the request.
    The exception you are receiving is saying that there was no object on the
    target page that indicated it could handle the request. This is to be
    expected, since you have not specified a query parameter that indicates
    which CommandField child is responsible the request. However, this is where
    I see the disconnect, because that is not what I believe you were trying to
    do (as explained above).
    So now, given all the information above, can you tell me what you're trying
    to accomplish, and whether or not the info I've given you has helped you to
    design a mechanism more in line with a JATO approach? If not, given that I
    understand what you're trying to do, I can offer a more concrete solution.

    Initially we tried to add the pageAttributes NVP as well, but that
    was
    causing an exception, so we stopped doing that.That's odd--what was the exception?
    Our problem now is that when the SessionTimes out it does not go
    to
    onSessionTimeout method as in processRequestMethod of the
    ApplicationServletBase it looks for pageAttributes. If it is notnull
    then only onSessionTimeOut method is called.This is sadly the only technique for determining if a session hastimed out
    and a new one been created, versus the initial creation of thesession.
    Is there any work around for this? Maybe you can suggest how topass
    the pageAttributes without causing the initial exception?Definitely--let me know what the exception was and I'll be able tosuggest
    something. However, it shouldn't really be any harder thanappending a
    "jato.pageAttributes=" empty NVP on the HREF.

    OK, here's what I'm trying to do: We have, like you said, a menu
    page. The pages that it goes to and the number of links are all
    variable and read from the database. In NetD we were able to create
    URLs in the form
    pgXYZ?SPIDERSESSION=abcd
    so this is what I'm trying to replicate here. So the URL that works
    is
    pgContactUs?GXHC_GX_jst=fc7b7e61662d6164&GXHC_gx_session_id_=cc9c6dfa5
    601afa7
    which I interpreted to be the equivalent of the old Netd way. Our
    javascript also loads other frames of the page in the same manner.
    And I believe the URL-rewritten frame sources of a frameset look like
    this too.
    This all worked except for the timeout problem. In theory we could
    rewrite all URLs to go to a handler, but that would be...
    inconvenient.

    thanks for your reply but I need more specific operation.
    maybe I am not very clear about the problem one. I mean when I run the code in standard mode, if I click the browse button, a window will pop out and I can choose a video file from my local harddisk. but if I run it in "web start execution" mode and "run in browser" mode. the browse button make no response when I click it.

  • Buttons not working, all of a sudden?

    Nothing has changed, no editing was done, and all of a sudden, buttons not working.  I trued exporting from Flash again, with the same pblish settings.  Bit Action Script seems to give me a message now saying it wont export as a button.  Tried AS 2.0 and 3.0, but i made original files in 3.0
    thoughts???
    thank you!

    Either convert that symbol to a button symbol so that you can use the code you showed, or assign it an instance name and place the following code in the timeline...
    yourMCName.onRelease = function(){
         getURL("page2.html","_self","GET");
    Where yourMCName is whatever instance name you assign

  • Button Not Working On Website

    I am somewhat new to Flash and have been teaching myself through tutorials. I am working with Flash CS6 and have created a movie and exported it as an SWF onto my website. In the testing area in the program it works and the buttons link to the web pages but when clicked on the website they don't go anywhere but still make the sounds and do the appropriate button up and down actions. Something shows up on the tab that is unfamiliar to me when the button is clicked: #.Uii5-4zD-Cg, I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not. Also, here is the code for each button:
    on(release){
          getURL(http://www.momandpopsmedicshop.com/ems_trousers.html);
    The website that the flash is on: www.momandpopsmedicshop.com
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    try:
    on(release){
          getURL("http://www.momandpopsmedicshop.com/ems_trousers.html");
