Button without action listener

I wanto to know if somebody will create
a button without action listener???.

but.. Buttons are created without ActionLiteners, you have to add them yourself...
and.. without ActionListener, whats going to happen when you click the Button?
you could use awt.Button.processEvent() in a subclass of Button, but then you would have to give that subclass some sort of access to the program class or its methods anyway

  • Custom button with action listener - will not invoke action listener

    Hi
    For whatever reason, I cannot find a concise example of a simple custom component that can invoke an action listener. The tutorials I've read so far either ignore this fundamental topic or only make the slightest make reference to it.
    The best I have come up with - in terms of a simple prototype is below... but, the action listener is never invoked.... Can someone tell me what I am missing (full code below). Hopefully, what is missing or incorrect will be obvious to you JSF experts out there.

  • Balloon message without action listener.

    Hi all,
    I want to add a balloon message without a action performed. I mean when the icon is loaded to the tray want to display it.

    hi there.. i am new at java and i have a problem with my applet..
    i am doing a virtual ticket programme..
    i have a tab that says books seats.. in the tab, i am suppose to create 50 buttons.
    i have done that already by using for (int i=1; i<=10;i++) 5 times for 50 buttons.
    but i do not know how to set an actionlistener in the for loop for each of these buttons..
    For example, if the user were to chose seat "no3" , a text area(already created) below will show something like "no3" and so on..
    how do i bind these buttons into one single action listener so i do not have to create 50 actionlisteners and buttons individually..

    I figured this out.
    Since doButtonAct() requires an ActionEvent object as a parameter, i needed to define the parameter type when I create the method binding.
    Solution:

  • Is there a way to trigger button's action listeners from key events?

    I rarely do GUI programming, especially not in Java. But now I am working on a GUI app and would like to get some help.
    Say I have a simple GUI consists of a JFrame, and a bunch of buttons on its JToolBar. The buttons on the JToolBar are for navigation of a set of documents, first, prev, next, last etc. All buttons are assigned action command strings, and their all trigger the same instance of action listener. inside of the action listener, it does the correct navigation based on the action command from the event.
    but some users want to be able to use the keyboard to do the navigation, because they think clicking the buttons are too slow.
    So is there a graceful way to receive the different key press events and trigger corresponding navigation actions (hopefully it reuses the code that is already there, e.g. the action listener)? thanks.

    All buttons are assigned action command strings,That is not the way the GUI should be designed.
    Instead you should be creating Actions. Then you can add the Action to a button and you can associate the Action with a KeyStroke which is called "Key Binding".     I have created a user login page,home page and user profile page.
    If the user provide correct username and password in the login page he will be taken to home page.
    In the home page he will be having his username and a link to view his profile.
    When the user click on the link "My Profile(user profile)" he wil be taken to that page.
    In my profile page the user can edit only his firstname,lastname and password .
    On the user profile page i have placed a Back Button(using javascript: on onclick event i have used history.back()) to go back to home page after editing his profile.
    If the user edit his profile for n-number of times then atlast if he wants to go back to home page-then he wil cilck the back button.
    Now the problem occurs like the back button not going to home page and it simply going back with the edited history.
    How to use a back button in action pages; without repeating the actions done on the page; how to redirect to the users home page?
    I simply used the hyperlink in userprofile page to go to home page but when i click onit it is displaying blank home page.
    I'm using hibernate orm mapping; cflogin and cflogout tags.

    Hi, I have a scenario that a user is Posting a Transaction and when he press the “Post” Button a, confirmation dialog box should popup asking “Do you really want to Post the record ?”.     The MII Message listener is a queue. But when I understand you correctly, you do not want to process the messages immediately after arriving in the Listener.
    Maybe the categorization of messages is an option for you (see [Sap Help: Processing Rule Editor - Category|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mii121/helpdata/en/43/e80b59ad40719ae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm]. You can enter a category for the control recipe messages. The messages will then be placed in the Listener queue. You can use the [Message Services|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mii121/helpdata/en/43/e80b59ad40719ae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm] actions to read the categorized messages and process them as you need.
    In addition to Manoj, you may also use the [Queueing actions|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mii121/helpdata/en/43/e80b59ad40719ae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm] of MII, where you can queue xml contents.

  • Action Listener Method called multiple times

    I have a page (fragment .jsff), containing a simple input text and a button called "search". When I click on "Search" the action listener is triggered multiple times. (The results are displayed in a table inside a panel collection).
    The results are actually coming back ok.
    When I debug the code, I can see the action listener method called twice.
    Do you know why is that?
    What should I be taking care of?

  • Best way to implement an Action Listener

    I have multiple anonymous classes for each button in my particular JPanel, this seems very... large and I am sure it is using a large amount of memory. Is there a better way to implement several action listeners to all these buttons so that they will still do their origional function but cut down on all the anonymous classes.

    Actually nothing of the sort. There is too much information to be able to be placed nicely on the Panel, so I have many buttons that open dialog boxes where the information is placed, buttons that perform specified tasks (adding, updating, loading, deleting, clearing all fields) on the database, and others, there is also action listeners on the jspinners comboboxes and others.
    Actually, I take back hundred, I recently extended JPanel to do my editing panels to go into my JTabbedPane cutting down on the line count in the FrameMain class (over 8K lines before the conversion) So there is only about 20 to 25 total action listeners per extended JPanel, instead of 150 or so declared in one frame.
    The biggest concern here is memory usage, as of right now it uses a ton, and by searching and reading, I belive its all the action listeners (which at the time I thought you had to have a brand new one every time you wanted it to do something different).
    Going back to the one action listener with the if/else statements obviously performace may be lost, but what is the ratio to performance lost to memory gain. Will the speed increase be negligable compared to the amount of memory usage that will go down?
