BW Document Management - transport of documents

Hello there,
i have a question concerning the management of BI Documents in BW 3.5.
Is it possible to transport Documents which were created on the development server to the consolidation and the production server?
For example i have some documents attached to infoobjects. The documents are created on the development machine, but are also needed for the end users on the production server.
In transport connection i can see all kinds of bw objects, but no documents. If i select an infoobject for transport, i can pick up all attached update rules ,info sources, etc., but no attached documents.
I would be grateful for any clarification.

Manage transports (without ChaRM) in Solution Manager?

Hi,
How do I manage transports in target systems (ECC, APO, etc.) using Solution Manager. We have the Dev systems (ECC, APO) connected using RFC to Solution Manager. Configuration (SOLAR02) will be done using Solution Manager. So the question is - how do we manage transports (without ChaRM being present) using Solution Manager?
Any suggestions/recommendations? I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

Hi,
One of the main features available with the Solution Manager is ChaRM. It has been introduced to basically deal with the diverse transports management and related control framework over the SAP lanscape. Having a Solution Manager and not using ChaRM defeats the purpose of installing a Solution Manager in the first place. A better approach would be to incorporate the features provided by the system.
In my opinion - you should configure ChaRM, else it would not make sense to have the SolMan in the landscape. You would start using one of the features which you already have !

Manage Transport Request

You call transaction STMS on your Solution Manager. If you have
created a local transport domain, you have to delete it. Menu
Overview-> Systems-> Extras-> Delete TMS Configuration. Confirm the
popups. On the Popup: TMS:Include System in Transportdomain you can
change to "Other Configuration" (F6) (second button from left)
then select "include system to domain". Enter the application server
and system ID from your domain controller. After this your domain
controller get the information that a new system wants to be part of the
domain, then you have to activate this on the controller,
then the status changed.
That should be all you have to do.
But the recommendation from SAP is that the system with the newest basis
should be the domain controller.

Records Management - transports

Hello,
i have a question regarded to Records Management.
Does anybody know how to add to the transport request more documents all at once?
We just know how to add one document and it's quite annoying if there is like 50 documents and we need to repeat it 50 times.

thank you for your response.
I haven't meant the element type definition but the documents stored in RM.
In our case we have lot's of .RTF, .DOC, .PDF documents that we need to transport from DEV to QA.
But now the bigger problem has appeared. We have lots of problems with transports (DEV to QA) that contains RM objects. I will create separate forum thread for that question.

Performance Management - Transporting "Define Tabs and Process config"

Good Morning Experts,
We are moving from Development into our PPT (pre-production test) environment and have successfully transported the Performance management category settings/values, as well as the Template itself.
Upon executing the Performance Management toolset from the portal side, I see that my tab configuration for the template did not transport. I have searched high and low for any reference to transporting this config step, but have been unsuccessful, thus this post.
Does anyone have any suggestions for transporting this configuration. As you know the IMG Personnel Management > Personnel Development > Objective Setting and Appraisals > Define Tabs and Process Configuration for Template launches a webdynpro app to make this configuration step, so saving these setup selections is the only option. How can I force these changes across ? I look forward to your responses !

All - the solution:
SAP Note 1428054, implement the corrections according to the note.
Run the report, RHHAP_Transport_tab_config which will generate the transport containing entries from tables:
hrhap_tab
hrhap_tab_data
hrhap_tab_t
Basis implemented, I ran report, transported the tabs and and all is well.

Change management & Transport tracking

Dear All,
I am not sure whether this is the right forum but I will address my questions here and if not relevant you can redirect me.
At Coca Cola Hellenic we are searching for an application/tool to cover the below functionality.
Basically STMS consists of three systems (DEV, QAS, PRD). By the moment CCH has in its SAP landscape five systems per type (two DEV, two QAS and one PRD). Five, because we use one route DEV->QAS->PRD support of productive applications and the other DEV->QAS route we use for upgrades, CCH projects and template releases. Above situation is the ideal case, but there will be cases when we'll have to deal with more than two QAS, more than one PRD, etc. It is very crucial for us to have application or tool that has to be able to keep and ensure consistency of all kind of SAP objects between predefined list of systems, no matter which is the original one(for the object).
To be able to keep track of all types of TRs import in every system from STMS - workbench, customizing, transport of copies and relocations and objects included in them, i.e. for workbench TRs - source code to be checked and for IMG - customizing to be checked. More than beneficial will be the options to compare and check versions of sap script and smartforms. Good to have grouping of TRs(not talking for merge, as it is not possible for different type of TRs) that is different, than SAP project and allows us predefined sequence of import, i.e. to be able to define TR dependences. This is needed for changes that may have as workbench objects and customizing objects also...
Same to be possible for non-ABAP objects also.
Here is an example:
Couple of change requests are created to change tone and he same object (CR1 and CR2), when they are released from development, they will each deposit new versions of the same object in the test environment. Because the last import of the object (CR2) will represent the most recent version of the object we need to make sure that CR2 is imported last and only after all predecessor changes are imported as well (CR1).
The thing we want to avoid is to have CR1 imported after CR2 which will overwrite all the latest changes and bring the object back to an old version. The object in the quality system would then differ from that in the development system and the two system would be inconsistent.
The same goes for the import of both changes from the test environment to the productive. We need to have a control over the SAP import and may be export queues which is to ensure the correct sequence of import and consistency of the objects in all systems.

SAP Solution Manager Change Request Management has an optional function, called Cross System Object Lock. You can customize if you get a warning or an error when the same key (customizing or workbench) is written to a transport request. SolMan is checking is there already a key for the same productive system, which is so far not imported in production. If yes, regardless if this is another dev. system or not you can block this change.
I agree a consultant would be good, but you can start looking in the IMG searching for CSOL or Cross System Object Lock.

Change Request Management - Transport Request reimport

I have read in a forum on SDN about the following behaviour of Change Request Management in case of a Maintenance Project: after completing import to production environment through Normal correction, when the same maintenance cycle
is used again, ChaRM reimports all the TP's imported in the previous run.
In case of an Implementation Project with Normal correction I guess that this can not happen for an import to Production environment, because it's not possible to use again the same cycle, is it right?
But if we consider the import to Test environment: for example, during a Project cycle, transport request TR1 is imported to Test environment, then cycle status is set again
to "In development" and a new transport request TR2 is created. Is TR1 re-imported, when TR2 is imported to Test?

Whenyou import a normal correction as per the recommedations from SAP they are asking to de select keep for further imports options,so that when we import other request it will not import the older request.

Upgrade to ECC - Can we keep our Version Management & Transport History?

We definitely do not want to loose our Version Management and/or Transport History during our upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0
Is it possible to keep the Version Management and Transport History? Can this be imported and applied to ECC 6.0 client after/during upgrade?

Hi Adrian,
The modification adjustment of the ABAP Dictionary objects is performed before downtime. This
is possible since the complete version management is available in the shadow system.
Even the upgrade guide details this.

We want to use the CHARM functionality of Solution Manager to improve our transport operations. We have several customers and expend´s a lot of time making tranports to different systems.
I don want to activate CHARM completely. Which activities do i must perform, and which activities do i must leave ?

This is the Business Scenario: Our company is using SAP Solution Manager to perform monitoring and administration activities for over than 30 customers.
Dayly we espend over 85% of the basis team time making transport for all of the customers. We decide to set some internal politics to bundle transports, stablishing several releases of them, at specific hours of the day. So we want to use SOLMAN`S change logistics instead of CHARM Scenario to control and improve this activitiy, releasing time to perform other activities.

What is the procedure of transporting XI objects within Solution Manager 4.0?

I think as in all SAP systems it will be through STMS, you need to define target system group. and configure your transport route. Hope it was useful.

How to manage transport groups in SLD

Hi all,
I am facing some problems while trying to create/assign transports groups to the Business systems in my SLD. (i am using PI 7.0)
I have only 2 XI boxes (one for DEV and the other one for PRD) BUT my R/3 landscape consists of 3 environments (DEV, QA and PRD). I created 3 groups in the SLD but i had to assign every group to a Integration server, so i couldnt
Could you please give me some help about how to handle this kind of scenarios??
Any ideas or examples?

Do you have 1 central SLD or local on each XI?
What is the issue you are having specifically?
Have you tried creating the 2 'true' XI groups and assigning every DEV system to the DEV group and all PROD systems to PROD group.
You can choose to assign your QA to DEV group - your only QA objects should be the backend - this is not mandatory.
Make the promotion (source-target) assignment for the groups as follows DEV --> PROD
Since you are moving IR and ID objects across these groups then it will work correctly.

Managing Transports during EHP4 Installation

Hi,
Appreciate some help. We will soon be installing EHP4 in our DEV ERP system. After the installation, DEV ERP will be with EHP4 but QAS and PRD will not. Those will be installed after tests and checks have been completed. Can changes be transported across to QAS and PRD from DEV? Thanks.

I am not able to understand by installing EHP4 but not activating.
E.g.- If you are upgarding your SAP_Basis package to 701 then you don't need to do some extra step to activate it.

Supply Chain Event Management: Transportation visibility scenario

Hello, we're trying to set up a transportation visibility scenario based on R/3 LES 4.6C and SCEM 4.1.
We would like to generate an Event Handler for every shipment and then report events related to expected events like outbound deliveries assignment to the shipment, start of shipment, ..., end of shipment.
Has anyone already implemented such a scenario?
Is it possible to create an EH without assigning a delivery? When I assign a delivery, a new EH is generated or I can simply generate an event and update the shipment EH?
The standard function module for event data extraction /saptrx/xet_le_road_tra10 is available as of 4.7 but not in 4.6C. Is it possible to use it in 4.6C?

We are also trying to create a similar process of creating event handler for every Outbound Delivery. What we noticed is No EH is getting created inspite of maintaing all the settings mentioned in the CG. I wanna specifically ask is there any particual extractor we need to copy and change code to suit the scenario. Does it require any Extractor to be written in EM. The problem here again for our scenario we have OBP10_Deliv as one extractor... but we also need to mention the Cntrl, Info, System, Tracking Id, Query ID extractors.
Is there something SAP directly provides with the package as lot of Demo Delivery Scenarios just suggest " Package comes all ready we just need to put user specific logical systems etc.."
