BW instance consolidation

Hi Gurus,
If say we have got N BW instance how could we go about consolidating these in fewer nos. Is there a standard methodology suggested by SAP.
Any thoughts.
Many Thanks
Vikash

The biggest stumbling block in terms of instance consolidation is the master data. If you can consolidate the master data then things will be much easier . Maybe you can look at consolidation with MDM  in the landscape...
Consolidating the transaction data is easily achieved if your master data is in sync.

  • R12 Upgrade and Instance Consolidation

    Hi,
We have 11.5.10 HRMS on IBM AIX and 11.5.10 Financials on Sun Solaris servers. The plan is to Upgrade the Applications to R12 and consolidate the instances into a single Instances.
Please share your experiences if first we need to upgrade the applications to R12 and then do the Instance Consolidation or do the Instance Consolidation on 11.5.10 and then do the upgrade.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of both the approaches.
Please share your experiences if someone has worked on similar projects.

  • Htmldb instance consolidation

    Hi,
I would like to know If you have done consolidating different htmldb instances of different versions(1.5, 1.6) from two different db into one htmldb instance(2.0) and what your suggestion is.
    Thanks

An Apex installation creates public synonyms for the various objects (functions, stored procedures, views, etc) that point to one specific version (FLOWS_nnnnnn.something).
So, I don't think it is possible to run multiple versions of Apex on the same Oracle instance.

  • SAP instance consolidation

    Hi,
I have a requirement where in my client wants to consolidate two instances or rather transfer plants on one instance to another instance.
Can anyone give me a high level impact from a functional standpoint. To go into further details we have two instances. On one instance there are only two plants. So my client wants to transfer those two plants to another instance and make it a single instance of SAP. What all FICO aspects should be considered when doing this?

    hi
instead of merging you can set the settings for other plants in the required instances.

  • Unable to do the restriction at Fund Center or FM Area when FM is not activ

    Hi,
we have the following business requirement:
    Background of the issue:
Field Status variant in Account Assignment category and GL:
We are in the process of rolling out one of our company codes which is
    in a different instance(server).
We already have some 130+ company codes running in a different
instance. This is a kind of Instance consolidation to bring all systems
    under one instance.
Funds Management has been activated in the company code for which we
are carrying out the rollout. FM has not been activated for the
    existing company codes.
Now, the issue is with regard to the field status variants, which can
be controlled at the company code level and which cannot be controlled
which is at the client level.
    (i)     The existing company codes have a field status variant which
has the field status groups having the fields Commitment items and
Funds center in Suppress mode in the existing instance.
(ii)     The company to be rolled out has the field status variant which
has field status groups having the fields Commitment items and Funds
    Center in Optional mode.
(iii)     On the other hand, there is yet another field status control
for the Account assignment objects like Cost center, WBS elements, etc.
in the MM-FI integration area. This is at client level and at present
the same has the status of u201CSuppressu201D for Commitment items and Funds
Center. We have changed the same to u201COptionalu201D for the purpose of
testing the proposed roll out in our existing instance.
In that case, the status of GL account assignment in above is
clashing with our client level field status as described in (iii)
above. As a result, we are forced to change the field status in
above to optional mode for our existing company codes which we do not
    intend to do.
When only one company within a group of companies is activated with FM,
    I feel that:
    (i)     At the client level, there is no option for me other than to
keep the Funds center and commitment items in optional mode
(ii)     At the GL level, I should be able to keep my field status in
Suppress mode (If FM is not activated) and in Optional mode (If FM is
activated) and SAP should be able to take care of the clash in the
field status at the transaction level in such a scenario.
The issue is we are able to control the access if FM is activated for a particular company code, where as we are unable to control the access for other company codes where FM is not activated and FM Area is not linked.
We tried to use the BADI ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST, but this is applicable for POs only.
Please look into this  issue and help us in meeting our business requirement.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramakrishna

    Hi Justin,
    Thanks for the extra points.
Copy and save this bold text some where
    /Applications/iChat.app/Contents/MacOS/iChat -errorLogLevel 7
This needs to be run in Terminal.
iChat needs to be shut down to do so.
Just paste it in Terminal after the Welcome to Darwin message and hit enter.
It will launch iChat and create an on-going log in the Terminal window.
You will see the reference to the Harware rules.plist
Further down you will see the bandwidth found by iChat, followed by the number of Audio and Video Buddies that you can support.
    It goes on.....
It makes a note of the router that you are connected to.
After that it will end up lists listening checks until you connect to a Chat.
This makes this a useful way to find out what iChat can see at it's startup.
To Stop - Quit iChat in the Normal way.
Save the Log in a Text editor of some sort. (Post here if required).
    Then Quit Terminal.
It is a useful tool to highlight some things in the start up phase, (And a reminder to look in specific places) when you think you have looked at all the settings.

  • Oracle RCM v. RAC for eBusiness suite

    Hello,
We're about to install Oracle eBusiness, and one strong user requirement is that OLTP is no way degraded by BATCH activity that may run simultaneously.
    The choice is currently between:
    a) 1 LPAR (4CPU/16Gb memory) servicing both OLTP and BATCH workloads, with resource distribution being managed by the Oracle Resource Consumer Manager.
    b) 2 LPARs (2CPU each/8Gb memory each) using RAC, with one LPAR dedicated to OLTP workload, and the other dedicated to BATCH workload.
The second configuration seems like wasted resources when only one workload is running, but...
    - Does RAC offer better protection against workload interference than RCM, which seems designed for this purpose?
    - RCM does not handle memory management between the different plans. In the RAC configuration, both workloads have dedicated memory (8Gb/LPAR). In our RCM configuration (with a single LPAR), the amount of memory is double (16Gb). What's the preferred configuration?
    What would your recommendation be?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Resource Manager and RAC are not mutually exclusive.
RAC provides the ability to scale more users into the application. RAC also provides the ability to separate the application into various communities (OLTP on instance 1,2,3 and batch on instance 4). As long as the I/O is not a bottleneck, RAC is excellent for such scaling.
RM provides the ability to manage resource allocation within a specific instance, allowing finer grained control of CPU, at the SERVICE level. This goes a long way towards a possible goal of instance consolidation on a server.
There is also a HA component to RAC that is not available in RM.
Depending on your needs, you may want to mix both.

  • Is it possible to list out CATALOG ITEMS GROUP in a Query Result of a Request Offering??

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to list out  CATALOG ITEMS GROUP as a result of Query Result in Request Offering ?? Because each and every Catalog Items Groups are being created as a SingleTon Child Class of System.CatalogItemGroup. i.e., Each CatalogItemGroup instance
will have its own singleton class.
Is it possible to list out all CatalogItemGroup Instances consolidatedly in the QueryResult Window??
Though the System.CatalogItemGroup class is an Abstract class, I tried to list out the Classinstances via powershell command as below, which lists all catalog group instances, Note: Actually these are instances of SingleTon
    Child Classes
    "Get-SCClassInstance -Class (Get-SCClass -Name System.CatalogItemGroup)"
But when I configured the QueryResult window with the "System.CatalogItemGroup" class, it doesn't list out any Group instances in the Porta.......
Am I missing anything, Any suggestions please???
    Thanks and Regards, Narayana Babu

Thanks Anton, I already tried that too... But it doesn't list out any Group instances in the Portal.
Since each Catalog Groups are individual Single ton Class instances derived from "System.CatalogItemGroup" class. Therfore If I specify the internal ID of the abstract class "System.CatalogItemGroup" in the tag below, it doesn't list any in the
Portal.... But if I specify ID of any one of the derived singleton class, it does displays the one instance of that particular class..

  • Question about an Oracle SID

I'm a bit confused about what a SID is. I understand that it represents a Database instance. However, as I create my database for the first time, I'm asking myself if I really understand what a SID is?
My impression of a SID is a database instance that can contain/manage serveral databases. Is that correct?
However, I wonder if I'm being miss lead by my thinking. During the database creation process it appears that there is a one-to-one relationship between a database and a SID. Meaning that a SID and database are a unique pair and that a one-to-one relationship exist only.
That being the case when it comes the environment variable for "Oracle_SID" does it support having multiple SID's. What is the maximum number of SID that it can support? When connecting to a database in Oracle do I have to supply both the SID and global database name to make a connection? I plan to connect to my databases using both Java and C++.
    Thanks

Thanks for you help. However, My question is about
the "Oracle_SID" environment variable. I fully
understand that a SID helps identify resources to
    manage a database. However, a server/machine can
have any number of database residing on the
    server/machine.
The installation instructions talk about the
environment variables for a machine with the
"Oracle_SID being one of those variables. Based on
what you are telling me a server/machine can have
only 1/one database residing on it based on the fact
that the "Oracle_SID" environment variable can only
accomodate one/1 SID. NO. That is NOT what I said. I said - One SID will equate to One database instance.
You can have any number of SIDs.
BUT you set the SID as an environment variable to tell the software which instance to you wish to connect. ORACLE_SID can only be set to one value. That represents the database instance to which you are about to connect. A tool such as SQLPlus supports only one connection to one instance at a time.
    >
Is the "Oracle_SID" environment variable important
when it comes to connecting to a database remotely? Not really. The key is the SERVICE_NAME which is used to tell the LISTENER which SERVICE you want to use.
By default, there is one service that has the same name as the instance's SID.
There is a connection description file, called TNSNAMES.ORA. That file is used the same as /etc/hosts in *nix - pass in an alias and get a connection description - IP in the case of HOSTS; machine, listener port and 'instance information' in the case of TNSNAMES.ORA
The typical connection to an instance is something like
    sqlplus hans/test@ORCL
The ORCL is the alias to look up in the TNSNAMES.ORA (or other lookup technique - equivalent to DNS). The client looks up the 3 pieces of information, sends a request to the listener which is (hopefully) listening on the specified port on the indicated machine. It then uses the 'instance information' to ask the database instance for a thread or process.
Oracle8 and older used ORACLE_SID as the 'instance information'
Oracle8i and newer uses SERVICE_NAME as the 'instance information'.
Some Newbie DBAs equate SERVICE_NAME to ORACLE_SID, because one of the services has the same name as the SID. However, one can have up to 64 SERVICES managed by a single instance.
Some Experienced DBAs equate SERVICE_NAME to ORACLE_SID, because they have not spent time in the documentation to understand the difference between SERVICE_NAME and SID. As a result, they generally do not 'get it' when it comes to resource management or instance consolidation.
    >
If I'm managing a database at the server and the
server has multiple database residing on it, how do I
define a SID for each database using the "Oracle_SID"
environment variable? If on LINUX, using bash, you simply
    export ORACLE_SID=abc
or use the oraenv script to set the SID and all the other environment variables based on the SID.I give a description and example below.
    >
I'm just not clear about the relationship between the
"Oracle_SID" environment variable and access a
database when logged onto the database
server/machine.Say I have 2 databases, called 'ORCL' and 'TEST', each with a user (and schema) called 'hans'. Both are down. I want them both up. Therefore I want to start 2 instances. The pattern, on Linux (it's subtly different on Windows) is
    # set the environment to start ORCL
    . oraenv
    ORCL
    # or
    export ORACLE_SID=ORCL
    export ORACLE_HOME=some-directory-path-to-the-ORCL-database's-software
    export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    # use the tools to start the database
sqlplus / as sysdba   # note that I did not specify SID ... that was given above
    startup
    exit
    # at this point ORCL database, and all the schemas in the ORCL database, are available
    # from anywhere in the network, or on the local machine, I can:
    sqlplus hans/password@ORCL
    select * from dual;
    exit
    # but TEST is not up and
    sqlplus hans/password@TEST
    #  will fail with a 'database not available' type of message
    # now set up to start test.  Use oraenv OR do it manually
    export ORACLE_SID=TEST
    export ORACLE_HOME=the-path-to-the-TEST-database's-software-which-could-be-the-same
    export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    # and use the tools to start the database
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    startup
    exit
    # note that I did not specify SID ... that was given above and tells SQLPLUS to establish a connect to the
    # instance called TEST.  SQLPlus has special powers in the "as sysdba" mode - it can execute the
    # startup process.
    # NOW the TEST and the ORCL databases are available through the TEST and ORCL instances
    sqlplus hans/password@TEST
    select * from dual;
    connect hans/password@ORCL
    select * from dual;
    exit>
I understand that when using the Enterprise Manager I
have to specify the SID and database name but, does
the environment variable "Oracle_SID" have to reflect
a SID for each database that is present on the
    server/machine.
    The SID tells the system
    1) which shared memory segment to use - if we are on the server
    2) which instance to connect to over the network, because the SID is the same as the default SERVICE
In Enterprise Manager Database Control, the entry point for the configuration files is a special directory under the ORACLE_HOME that consists of the machine name and the SID. The purpose of setting the ORACLE_SID in this case is to tell the database control which directory to use to find the EM configuration files for that database and instance.
No matter which way you slice it:
    1) an Oracle SID is used to point to the configuration information for one database and it's related instance;
    2) an Oracle SID is really only meaningful on the machine where the instance is to run;
    3) an Oracle SID environment variable can only contain the value for one SID if it is to be intepreted by Oracle programs;
    4) an Oracle SID plays no significant part in establishing the connection for an appication;
    5) an Oracle SID MAY be used as input to environment-setting programs that make it easier to get the right environment for an application;
    6) an Oracle SID is NO LONGER the correct way to set up the TNSNAMES.ORA file to establish a connection.

  • Can anyone tell me the major differences between the versions

    hi all,
what is the difference between the versions 4.6c 4.7EE and 5.0.
Atleast anyone suggest where i can get the difference exactly.
    Thanks,
    Saroja.

    <b>Difference between SAP 4.6b, 4.6c, 4.7e and ECC 5.0 Versions</b>
If you are an existing user of SAP, you will probably be aware that as from January 2007 all releases below 4.6c will no longer officially be supported by SAP. Maintenance costs for releases 3.1 - 4.6b inclusive will also attract a total charge of 21% during 2005/6.
So what are your upgrade options?
You could upgrade to release 4.6c - or the more comprehensive mySAP.com - which are both currently scheduled to be supported by SAP until December 2009. These products have been available since 1999 and already have a broad user base. Bear in mind however that maintenance costs for this release will be 19% during 2007 and 21% during 2008/9.
If you wish to avoid the expense and disruption of a potential further upgrade in 2006/7, you may want to consider upgrading to release 4.7 (SAP R/3 Enterprise). Whilst this product incorporates relatively new technology, it has the advantage of being supported by SAP until March 2012 and provides new functionality in many areas.
SAP is encouraging existing users to go beyond the 4.7 (SAP R/3 Enterprise) environment and upgrade to mySAP ERP as a stepping stone to mySAP Business Suite. However, you should note that an upgrade to mySAP ERP requires a change in licensing plan. mySAP ERP licences are role-based, so you need to assess the number of finance, logistics, HR users etc. and pay accordingly. This is a radical change from previous licensing schemes operated by SAP, whereby each seat purchased was accorded full usage of the entire SAP environment (in line with user authorisations).
No technology upgrade is necessary to move from 4.7 (SAP R/3 Enterprise) to mySAP ERP. You simply add the benefits of mySAP ERP to your installation as you go along. The upgrade from mySAP ERP to mySAP Business Suite is equally straightforward – you just add those mySAP products available in the latter that you require. The alternative strategy would be to remain on 4.7 (SAP R/3 Enterprise) or mySAP ERP and purchase mySAP products available with mySAP Business Suite as add-ons.
Please see below the current maintenance schedule for SAP products:
    SAP R/3 3.1 - 4.6b
    Maintenance extension until December 2006
    2005/2006: additional fee of 4% (17% plus 4%)
    SAP R/3 4.6c
    Maintenance extension until December 2009
    2007: additional fee of 2% (17% plus 2%)
    2008/2009: additional fee of 4% (17% plus 4%)
    SAP R/3 Enterprise:
Maintenance extension possible until March 2012, available to all customers
    April 1, 2009 - March 31,2010: additional fee of 2% (17% plus 2%)
    April 1, 2010 - March 31, 2012: additional fee of 4% (17% plus 4%)
    MySAP ERP 2003
Mainstream maintenance until end of March 2009
    April 1, 2009 - March 31,2010: additional fee of 2% (17% plus 2%)
    April 1, 2010 - March 31, 2012: additional fee of 4% (17% plus 4%)
    MySAP ERP 2004
Mainstream maintenance until end of March 2010
    April 1, 2010 - March 31, 2011: additional fee of 2% (17 plus 2%)
    April 1, 2012 - March 31, 2014: additional fee of 4% (17 plus 4%)
All of the above maintenance durations and extensions include all industry add-ons and all legal charges for HR and FI/LO.
If you are contained in say Financials and HR - then your burden to go to mySAP ERP is smaller - as you go from one system to another system.... on the opposite - if you use R/3 and use customer processes, manufacturing and purchasing processes - and you do not use yet mySAP CRM, mySAP SCM, mySAP SRM... then you not only have to pay more for the license - not only for mySAP ERP - but also for mySAP CRM, mySAP SRM, mySAP SCM... - the mySAP Business Suite may be interesting pricing option then...
But then to pricing - SAP says they will reduce the credit on your R/3 payments with the change of the calendar year... for some a big motivation to move to mySAP ERP license... but as a Gartner report from today pointed out - not many of these customers really upgrade to mySAP ERP in terms of functionality - but use it more as a license centralization for some instance consolidation - as well as only a technical upgrade. And then there are the many SAP customers who buy mySAP ERP - but stay on R/3 - but get this as they buy the mySAP BW license for all their users with it... and it's cheaper to buy mySAP ERP (as you need it sooner or later anyway) - than buying mySAP BW standalone now - and mySAP ERP in a few years...
One final argument... remember when mySAP ERP shipped first - March 2003. SAP said they would have the vertical code of R/3 by end of 2003... well they had not - all of it will be out only now in Q2 2006 with mySAP ERP 2005 --- three years later! How did SAP's world class engineering team miss dates so badly? It's tough to move working R/3 code over to the mySAP xxx world with NetWeaver! And no the secret: Is there a difference between you modifying a R/3 system -- and SAP development creating a vertical piece of code? Not really - or better - not at all... so have a very good luck at your modification...
Finally - there are some tools in the market which have a very good handle on estimating the implementation cost... take a look at them.
Bottom line: If you are using a lot of R/3 - you have major license cost and a major risk to upgrade... you should even look at alternatives to SAP then - as you spend as much in upgrading than switching... take advantage of some of the attractive commercial offerings from SAP competitors - even if you do this only to negotiate a better price from SAP.
If you are using a little R/3 only - and that is contained in mySAP ERP... then it comes back to how much license you want to pay now (or later - so it's really a financial consideration) - and your overall risk readiness. If you are happy to pay now and risk averse - you go for mySAP ERP 2004 or 2005... if you are risk sensitive and don't want to pay now and wait for others to be the "guinea pigs" for mySAP ERP 2007 / 2005 etc - then you go to R/3 Enterprise. Easier upgrade, no license cost. Sit on the fence and see what SAP and competitors do to service enable their apps.
    Hope this helps a bit...

  • Consolidation of data in two different instances

    Hi,
I am having a scenario that ABCD is a subsidiary of holding company PQRS. Both the systems are running on two different instances of SAP. Now the ABCD is going for SAP implementation. PQRS is interested to consolidate the data of PQRS as well as ABCD. In ABCD, let me presume that the group chart of account has been used and each GL account of operating chart of account has been mapped to group chart of account GL account. Now, the question is how the data of ABCD can be transferred / moved to PQRS. The presumptions are: 1. There is RFC connections between ABCD and PQRS 2. PQRS is consolidating using EC-CS
Please throw some light on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. If your source system is sending all the entries in a single message you can easily do this via the mapping in XI
    2. Suppose your source system is sending these 4 message separately and then you want to consolidate, then you will have to involve BPM.
You will need to collect these messages and then have a N:1 mapping that does the consolidation

  • Aging Report for consolidating Business Partners

I have a customer that is using consolidation functionality for its vendors. The BP parent it is set as multicurrency, the childrenu2019s for this parent are set with a different currency (USD, CAD, RMB etc).  My question is how I can obtain a proper aging report for this consolidated BP (by BP children currency) as for now all the transactions are automatically converted in local currency even when Iu2019m selecting the BP currency to display.
    Thank you,
    Alex Corbu

    Hi Alex
The best would be a query on JDT1 table linked to OINV for example. The problem as you mentioned is that although the document is against the sub account, it is automatically posted against the head account for balance and payment purposes. In the journal file it only keeps the Head account and not the sub accounts. In OINV (and other marketing documents) you can use the FatherCard field to identify the Head account and the CardCode the sub account. These will of course be linked by the Document number from OINV and the Ref1 from JDT1.
The above is assuming you need the information exactly the same as the ageing, as the ageing is by default pulled from the Journal tables. You could simplify this by using just the OINV table. Remember that the balance is made up of Invoices less Credit Notes, so in this instance it would be OINV minus ORIN entries.
Hope the above all makes sense, if not just ask.

  • Need help to create a login for maintenance of a single database in a multiple databases, single instance environment

    Hi,
We are in the process of consolidating several databases on a single instance of SQL Server 2012.
Databases are developed by outside vendors; they have to be able to install and support their databases but they shouldn't be able to do any thing with the other databases.
When I tried to migrate the first database, the vendor told me that on the former server he used the sa account in some batch.
    On a previous thread
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/dc1f802f-d8de-4e2b-87e5-ccb289593fb7/security-for-multiple-applications-on-a-single-sql-server-2012-instance?forum=sqlsecurity
it was suggested to me that I create a login for each vendor and that this login should map a user in their respective databases.
To test, I simulated the process in a test database:
1 - I create the login and I scripted the command:
    USE [master]
    GO
/* For security reasons the login is created disabled and with a random password. */
    /****** Object:  Login [M02_Test]    Script Date: 2014-12-02 16:23:58 ******/
    CREATE LOGIN [M02_Test] WITH PASSWORD=N'ÈS^y¡¶=Å€"+y¤j|úªhÖféÎЕœEu
    c', DEFAULT_DATABASE=[M02], DEFAULT_LANGUAGE=[us_english], CHECK_EXPIRATION=OFF, CHECK_POLICY=OFF
    GO
    ALTER LOGIN [M02_Test] DISABLE
    GO
2 - I create the user and scripted it
    USE [M02]
    GO
    /****** Object:  User [M02_Test]    Script Date: 2014-12-02 16:29:41 ******/
CREATE USER [M02_Test] FOR LOGIN [M02_Test] WITH DEFAULT_SCHEMA=[dbo]
    GO
    Questions:
What should we do with te scrambled password: is it saved as it was entered and should it be kept somewhere in a safe place?
Would that do the job for the vendor who used sa before?
    Thanks for your advice

I'm not sure why you would save the script. Why not create the login, in one way or another give the vendor the password. Keep the login disabled until needed.
I don't recall exactly what we said last time, but it occurs to me that the application setup things on server level. Jobs is the prime thing that comes to mind, but there could be other things.
Now, here is an important observation. As long as the vendor's application was alone on the server, that was OK, and it was OK to give the vendor sysadmin rights. In this situation this is less OK, and as we said, you should only give the vendor db_owner
    in the database.
But the vendor will need to tell you what they do on server-level. They should know this - unless they sell their app as a "alone-on-a-server application". (And there are indeed such applications out there, even from Microsoft.) But there is a
risk that they will bill you extra if you make their installation more difficult.
Maybe you will have to give some vendors sysadmin for the installation, but in such case, you should ask them why they need it. If they don't, give them db_owner, and they will have to find out their hard way. (And you don't pay them for learning
    their own application.)

  • How to use POwn, PCon or PMin in Consolidation

    Dear all experts ,
Do you know how to differentiate consolidation from one account with another? The condition is :
    Assets : PCon
    Liabilities : PCon
Account (NCI, Capital Reserve, etc) : POwn
Is this possible? Actually when and how to use PCon, POwn and PMin?
    Kindly thanks for your attention

    Hi,
In order to do what I have described, you have to set ConsolidationRules = "Y" and implement the code to proportionalize accounts in the Consolidate() section of the rules file. Account types cannot help you, because typically equity accounts (capital, reserve accounts and NCI) are defined as of Liability type. Instead you will either test the Label of each account in the DataUnit or test some UserDefined attribute of the account in order to decide which percentage you will use. Note that an account can be proportionalized more than once, for instance:
    If vAccount = "Revenue_Reserves" Then
    Call Hs.Con("", vPCon, "")
    Call Hs.Con("V#Elimination", -1 * vPCon, "")
    Call Hs.Con("I#" & vEntity, vPOwn, "")
Call Hs.Con("A#NCI", vPMin, "")End IfThe above code does the following, only to the Revenue_Reserves account:
    1. first it proportionalizes the full amount into +[Proportion]+ (destination is the same account Revenue_Reserves)
    2. then it proportionalizes the inverse amount to +[Elimination]+ (destination is the same account Revenue_Reserves)
    3. then it proportionalizes the part owned to +[Proportion]+ but using the ICP member representing the calculating entity (destination is the same account Revenue_Reserves)
    4. finally proportionalizes to a different account, the NCI using the minority percentage (destination is the NCI account)

  • How to change Instance Number of an existing 4.6C System ?

My customer has DEV and QAS systems running in separated boxes and having the same instance number of 00. Now I'm consolidating these two SIDs into a new box. So, I need to change the instance number of one of them.
I found note 127351 on how to do this but noticed that the note only applies up to release 4.0B. Not sure if it still is valid for 4.6C.
I'd appreciate your help on how to do this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Satid,
if you want to move 2 systems of 2 boxes to 1 box, you have to copy at least one system anyway and therefore need to change the hostname of that system.
If you are doing this, this is a homogenious systemcopy which could be run with R3setup as described in the SAP documentation. I'm using an bit easier approach with more or less just savlib/rstlib - if you are interested, I could mail this to you.
With a homogenious systemcopy or my approach you have to "re-decide" for the instance number - so this is just no problem at all.
