BW Master Data reporting issue

Hello,
I have such MD structure :
CHR1 has one attribute ATTR1,
ATTR1 has 2 attributes ATTR2a and ATTR2b.
All attributes are declared NAV
CHR1
      - ATTR1
                - ATTR2a
                - ATTR2b
I want to create query that show all CHR1 for specified ATTR2a or b.
But explorer hangs when try to show such query.
When there's fact data (cube) with CHR1 in dimension it's also impossible to navigate
by ATTR2a or ATTR2b (they are seen only as display attributes). It's possible to navigate
only by 1-level attributes such as ATTR1.
Somebody knows the solution?
I don't believe BW is unable to navigate from such structure.

Hi Krzysztof Wozniak ,
I think, you need to create an infoset with the cube, CHR1 and ATTR1 infobjects with inner join from CHR1 in cube to CHR1 and from ATTR1 in CHR to ATTR1.
Now before creating a query, check if you are in a correct Support pack or apply the following NOTE 1124036.
Check the note to find out what is the correct support pack for the navigational attr of infoproviders of an infoset to work in a query.

Withholding tax master data report changes in SAP FI

Hi All,
In our client according to new audit requirements improvements have to be done for the withholding tax report. According to the the requirements changes only functionality has to be added to the main selection screen of the withholding tax master data report.
Changes only functionality has to be added to the selection screen of the report, the report has to display changes made to the tax master data with in a range of period, this was achieved easily by making program changes. Only issue now is when we do it in development client its showing us properly but when we do it in production it is not working because when ever we do any configuration changes we do it in the development client and transport it to production client so the changes done to any configuration with respect to WHT are not recorded in the production environment as they are transported from development client.
So, we are unable to achieve this in production client, please help me out with this issue.

Best Practice for Master Data Reporting

Dear SAP-Experts,
We face a challenge at the moment and we are still trying to find the right approach to it:
Business requirement is to analyze SAP Material-related Master Data with the BEx Analyzer (Master Data Reporting)
Questions they want to answer here are for example:
- How many active Materials/SKUs do we have?
- Which country/Sales Org has adopted certain Materials?
- How many Series do we have?
- How many SKUs below to a specific season
- How many SKUs are in a certain product lifecycle
- etc.
The challenge is, that the Master Data is stored in tables with different keys in the R/3.
The keys in these tables are on various levels (a selection below):
- Material
- Material / Sales Org / Distribution Channel
- Material / Grid Value
- Material / Grid Value / Sales Org / Distribution Channel
- Material / Grid Value / Sales Org / Distribution Channel / Season
- Material / Plant
- Material / Plant / Category
- Material / Sales Org / Category
etc.
So even though the information is available on different detail levels, the business requirement is to have one query/report that combines all the information. We are currently struggeling a bit on deciding, what would be the best approach for this requirement. Did anyone face such a requirement before - and what would be the best practice. We already tried to find any information online, but it seems Master data reporting is not very well documented. Thanks a lot for your valuable contribution to this discussion.

Pass a reference to the parent into the modal popup. Then you
can reference anything in the parent scope.
I haven't done this i 2.0 yet so I can't give you code. I'll
post if I do.
Oh, also, you can reference the parent using parentDocument.
So in the popup you could do:
parentDocument.myPublicVariable = "whatever";

Master Data Report

Hi,
I want to create a master data report which contains just charactristics no key figures.
For excample I want to show which client has which type of rate.
How can I do this?
Everytime I get an error message that I have to determine a key figure in the report.

Thanks I understand that I have to use a workaround like this.
But can I display characterisitc values in the query like a key figure value?

Master Data Reporting........data flow model

I will be working on Master Data reporting. I heard that this can be done by loading data from a Datasource into an InfoObject. I would like to see a data model for this scenario. Can anyone help me on this?

If you want to be more specific.
Open the InfoObject in change mode.
Go to Tab - Master Data/Texts
Here, if you go down, you will see a box for "InfoArea". Open this box and pick an InfoArea.
THis will do2 things.
1) It will allow you to create reports in the InfoObject.
2) It will allow you to Update the Master Data using any InfoSOurce.

Basic question on Master data reporting on ODS

Hello All,
Recently I had a requirement, where they need to see the master data report ( with its attributes and attributes of attributes (transitive attribute)). Hence I loaded the master data on a ODS, to turn on the Navigational attributes.........
For e.g.: Requirement:
Master data : 0EQUIPMENT
ATTRIBUTE: 0SHIP_TO
ATTRIBUTE of ATTRIBUTE: 0SHIP_TO_REGION
Question: The report is working fine...... but I have a doubt whether the report (built on the ODS with no Key figures) will populate the master data for which there is no Key figures are maintained in ECC???
Please let me know your ideas and views.......

I think it will be better if u use Infoobject to store master data......here also u can turn attributes to Navigational attribute....u can activate that infoobject as dataprovider and do the Reporting as you do it now for the ods object. .........The master data approach will additionally give you the possibility to add navigational attributes to fulfil more reporting requirements..........In RSA1.............Infoprovider >> Right click >> Insert that Infoobject as Infoprovider............

Can we get report directly from master data objects or we have to send the data to data targets like Infocubes,DSO. If we have hierarchies in master data, what is the procedure.

Master data reporting in SAP BW

Hi everybody,
we are using BW for reporting on master data. The concerned objects are all customer developments. We are experiencing problems concerning design questions and the print layout of the queries:
Our consultant advised us to use info objects for the implementation of master data in BW and to build the info objects just as the datasources in the source system, meaning: 1 table in the source system = 1 info object in BW. What are your experiences on that?
Second issue is, we have several long text informations. With the limitation of infoobjects to max. 60 digits, we are forced to split the contents into several infoobjects.
How do you handle long text informations in BW? (We need a printable report.)

Hi Kathrin,
It's OK to build one datasource on one table in the source system and load it into one infoobject. The main thing here that if you need to link these IOs that you load appropriate attributes into IOs to be linked.
Not knowing details it's hard to tell if this approach is the best.

Master Data Reporting (DATA MODEL)

Hi,
I need to bring 15 to 20 more attributes of 0material/0matplant infoobject from R/3 to BW through 0matplant_attr/0material_attr extractors. Right now this extractors is brings 20 feilds and i dont know still how many i have to bring. So i need to take a decision wheather to enhance those feilds to the master data extractor or create a view on those tables and then generic data source out of it and load it to the infoobject.
Now the issue comes here, i need to do a reporting of those newly added attributes. What should be the best design, wheather to do a reporting on the infoobject or create a ODS on top of infoobject to do report. Daily we are loading these inforobjects as a full load and its around 2 million records.
Please help me out, Your input will be highly appriciated.

1. creating a view and use it for creating the generic datasource and do the loads. y cant you go for delta instead of loading full loads daily?
2. make the material and matplant as infoproviders(insert char as data target) and report on them. this is because ods will have to do activation and reporting on ods is not advisable.

Master data deletion - Issues

Hi Experts,
0WBS_ELEMT info object data was populated through 3.x transformation, my client has loaded 400+ incorrect data which appear now when selecting the master data during reporting. At this stage not intending to delete entire data set as the volume is huge, In parallel there is a process chain run happens. Following are the issues:
1. Deletion of one record takes nearly 15 minutes.
2. Used the program RSDMDD_DELETE_BATCH which will delete the data selectively.
3. Timeout errors occurred due to wp_run time was set 600 seconds --> Basis to increase the time.
Please advise is there any other way we can easily delete the erroneous data without impacting the system in large?

check the with the your source team modify the in source side.
before deleting the master data first delete the transaction data with reference master data.
be aware the deleting the master data.

there is no standard report for that...
go to SE16... enter table KNA1 -- for all customers please note this gives all customers in your client
                                    KNB1 -- for company code wise list
                                    KNVV -- for sales area wise list..
after entering the table press enter ... give the selection criteria.. and execute.. this will fetch you the list of customers

Master data report on 0MATERIAL

Hi Guys,
I am trying to create a report which is purely based on material master data IO ( 0MATERIAL).
There are several navigation attributes for 0MATERIAL. In Report i am using the following.
'Material Category'
'Assortment Grade'
'Active Flag'
Material Category will be in 'Rows' section of the Query Designer.
'Assortment Grade' and 'Active Flag' will be in 'Columns' section of the Query Designer.
There are only 4 types of assortment grades in BI. Eg: 1 ,2 ,3 ,4
There are only 2 values for Active Flag IO , like 'Active' (A) or 'Inactive' (I). For ever Assortment Grade there will be either active material or inactive material status maintained in Active Flag.
So Report output should look like
++++++++++++Assort. Grade |--1|2|3|4--|
+++++++++++++Active Flag | Active | Inactive|| Active | Inactive|| Active | Inactive|| Active | Inactive|
CATEGORY1 +++++++++++++ 2 | 1
CATEGORY2 ++++++++++++ 3 | 2
Active or Inactive columns should show the count of the materials which falls in to those categories.
could any one please tell me how can i achive this.
Please note that i 've already marked this IO as info provider.

Create a structure in the column.
Create a new selection in your column structure, In the new selection insert characteric Assortment grade.
In properties (calculate tab),calculate single value as 'COUNTER for all detailed values'.
Insert a new slection and in the selection choose characteristic Active flag and in calvulate tab , for field calculate single values as choose 'COUNTER for all detailed values '.
Now run the report and check.

Master data automation issue

Hi ,
I have automated master data which pushes member data from BW infoobject to BPC member sheet. Now i have a requirement to add 300 rows which are constants or fixed members and the constant valuess are available only in first 3 columns ie
ID EVEDESCRIPTION PARENTH1
My issue here is , I have few transformations in transf file which adds a prefix to the company code say for ex :US01 to be added as G_US01 in member sheet. I have constant values at the end of other dimension members and the G_ is shown up in the respective company code column, I wanted to know if we can hardcode in transformation file so that i dont need to manually add these members to master data dimension manually.
I am using IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER & HIER for loading master data and hierarchy data.

Thanks for your response. I think my question confused you.
I did get the prefix members correctly, Apart from the BW info object data i do have few rows of constants which we used to manually add during the file prep process.
Now my question is i have to add few members say 200 rows for the first 3 columns ID , EVEDESCRIPTION and PARENTH1.
for these members i do not want the transformation to be applied. i have maintained these 200 rows in a table and i am calling using a select statement and inserting at the end of the member sheet(after the info object data).
In simple terms i have constants added in the BW info object .
Currently my company code is mentioned in transformation file as below and it works fine for all the members.
HIER_PARENT=*STR(G_)+0COMP_CODE
Fo the last 200 members in the member sheet i dont want to apply this transformation, i want the company code to be left as blank.Please let me know if it is possible.

Taking all those fields from HRP1000,HRP1001.......etc these are all the tables of Organizational master data which is one of the HR structures where HR people will design the organizational structure of the define and in that organizational structure they define org unit (org id which is represented by object type O),
Position id (position which is represented by object type S,
staffing is when they do the reporting then who is subordinate of whom
if you see tcode ppome (r/3) you can see all these fields this belongs organizational master data. i hope i cleared your doubt
So my question is if i extract this data by developing a custom defined data source based on view to which object (Org,Position,Staff) i need to lood this data
