BW related ABAP

Hi,
I need to work on one project that involve some ABAP on Netweaver based BPC (which sits on top of BW) as a ABAP developer.
I know the ABAP but I need to gain knowledge of BW related ABAP.

Hi Jayasunderreddy,
I have gone through an upgradation project, which upgrades from lower version to higher version, there are some problem we could find and here are they:
1) There were some syntax errors for the variables.
sloution) we should relate them with new version variables and change them.
2) There were some FM to be changed according to the version
3) There were change in BDC also if the objects having BDC then we have to check whether it is functioning well or not, or the best way is to replace the BDC with BAPI, which is independent of version change, so further no problems if at all the version changes.
Is this information ok..this is what we did for that.

How to use SET BIT and GET BIT in ABAP Programming

Hi,
Our team is currently working for an Upgrade project which is using a tool automatically upgrades when we supplly the code. fine, But now the requirement is , we need to write different test cases for the available key words in ABAP. Now we r looking for the usage of " BIT ", keyword. so , kindly provide any program or code using this key word.
Please find the description Provided and give some relative ABAP code to satisfy the given description.
The data object byte_string must be byte-type. The statement reads the bit at the bit position BITPOS of the variable byte_string and assigns its value to the variable val. A default mode can be specified if required *

What on earth are you testing? That ABAP still works? I think SAP might have run that through rigourous testing themselves.
If you want sample code, why not read the ABAP help, and work some out for yourself?

SQ01 DIsplay Problem (Can v write abap code ) Sql Query

Need help in SQL Query
I generated one sql query which has the following output in general .
Customer   name   description   amount
asrq1 sharekhan      Amount payed      10
asrq1 sharekhan     Amount Advance     20
asrq1 sharekhan    Amount due             30
but i need the output in the following way
Customer name AMount payed     Amount Advance                  Amount Due
asrq1   sharekhan 10    20     30
and iam new this sql query but came to know we can write code ..but iam unable to initiliaze to write
a peace of code as i dont know what are the select-options defined ..i saw in the include but didnt got it
% comes prefix of select-options,and iam unable to get he internal table which is displayed in the query .
can anyone help me in this answers will be awarded points.

First, I will suggest to go for ABAP report for this kinda requirement.
If you really want to go for it through SQ01, even then you will have to write some ABAP to display the records in one row. You will need to create three custom fields.
I will give Psudo for one field:
Field Name := ZAmountPayed
Select Amount_Payed into varAmountPayed from Table Where Emp# = '12345'
ZAmountPayed := varAmountPayed
Convert the above into relative ABAP code and create 2 more similar fields, and you should be all set.
You have to know the table names and any other calculations to get the right data.

please suggest me how to create a transport request to transport these old queries , one more thing is all standard area (client specific) queries are copied .

Access to Abap

Accessing ABAP temporarily or permanently via editor functions is nothing new to SAP. Infact I have heard and read that the whole concept of developer keys and even object keys is being relaxed (from a standard check perspective) and you need to use the authorization concept of your own implementation in the system landscape to control this access to programs in ABAP packages (object S_DEVELOP typically, and the status of the system components in SE06).
Whether that is a good thing or not I am not sure yet, to be honest. Probably, it is a good thing in the long run.

SAP was developed by ABAP, in which SAP AG developed ABAP and it was and is still is use ABAP to build componentes of SAP. Years to come ABAP will still move on and become more important tool to maintain SAP.

That is why we can enable the '/h' to debug screens and abap code. The underlying coding of SAP is a gargantuan piece of artwork.

Database is indenpendent in SAP. You can have Oracle, DB2 or SQL Enterprise Server to support SAP's massive or gargantuan data.... but.... SAP still have their own DBMS ... known as SAP DB.

Active Directory - Forte/UDS integration

Does any body integrated Active Directory Server with Forte ?
We are trying to integrate Forte with Active Directory Server.
Our first step is to open a session on Active Directory from Forte and that was successful.
The second step is to bind to the Active Directory server so as to authenticate the user against the Active Directory service fails.
The error message is :- "ASN.1 Integer does not begin with 0x02 at offset 0".
we are using Forte/UDS 5.0.3 and Windows Server 2000 SP4 for Active Directory.
Any help you can provide in this matter is greatly appreciated

We plan to install CRM 2007 ABAP+Java stack (dual stack).
I can tell you from my experience: avoid dual stack installations wherever possible because
- having to manage memory and resources for two engines running at the same time can be cumbersome
- you create a total dependency between ABAP + Java - means, if you e.g . run a portal and need to update the Java stack to a higher SP you have to also install the related ABAP SPs
- if you do release upgrades you have to run two upgrade processes in parallel since they will "wait for each other", you can´t upgrade separately
- depending on what database you use you must R3load to do system copies (no backup/restore)

HR Benefits: Dependents & Beneficiaries

IT0167 allows Dependents, IT0168 & IT0169 allow Beneficiaries, and
IT0377 Misc. allows one or the other, but not both!
That's my problem... we have an Insurance Plan where they have additional $1500 coverage per Dependent for one or multiple Dependents, and track name, etc. of the Dependent. They also may have Beneficiaries that are different from the Dependents.
So, we need to have a tab for both Dependents as well as Beneficiaries.
Is there any way to do that?

A small query

Hi,
I am currently working in a concern for more than 2 years now.I would like to know that "one should appear for the certification in the SAP-technolgy currently we are working only" or "one can appear for exam where they got trained/learned on-job in some other SAP technolgy".
Example:My main technolgy is SAP-ABAP.Since,I worked mostly for SD module related ABAP work,I am willing to do my certification in SD module.Is it possible to appear for the certification-exam as per the eligibility criteria for SD certification exam?
