BW3.5 bex

Hi all
I assign data source using direct update method data coming from r3 properly but when i use that in bex it shows <b>no application data found</b>  when i double click on infoobject(in bex) it shows data but that data dosent shows after running the query in excel can anybody tell me how can i resolve that error
thx

Hi Ankit.
This is probably to do with a restriction in your query.  Are you restricting your query by a variable or fixed value?
Also check your Infocube to make sure it is available for reporting.  Righ click on the cube -> Manage.  Make sure the upload status is green, if not chainge it to green.
If you search 'no application data found' on sdn you will get many more solutions.
Thanks,
Nick.

  • Value set to make BEx variable faster (BW3.5)

edit> No one knows?! I really didn't think this will be difficult, come one... easy points for this one!
    Good day all,
This must be a simple problem, but I can’t find any instruction on the web how to do this.
I’ve got a BEx query on BW3.5 that has a variable as input, but when you click on the dropdown box, it takes extremely long to bring back a set of values.
I’ve been told the way to get pass this problem is to define a pre-calculated value set in Reporting Agent.
I have done this, but can’t get the query to use it.
What are the steps? It should be simple…
I’ve chosen the following options (which is not working)
Processing by: User entry / Default Value
    Variable represents: Precalculated value set*
    Variable entry is: Optional
    Valueset: Z_MY_VALUE_SET
I don’t think this is right, because this implies that the query automatically uses the value set as filter, instead of the user’s input.
What is happening, is that when the variable dialog opens up, it shows Z_MY_VALUE_SET as default value and when I open the dropdown it still takes long to retrieve the values.
    Thanks in advance
    Rudolph

  • Can't see system list in BW3.X/BI7.0 BEX Analyzer logon window

I used to be able to see our different BW system list in the logon small window when trying to open a query from a BW3.X/BI7.0 Analyzer which should be the same system list for SAP Logon screen.
But my computer was infected by virus that the operating system has to be reinstalled and then I have SAPGUI 7.10+Add-ons with SAPLOGON Customizer installed and I can see the system lists in SAP Logon screen.   Then I have reinstalled BI7.0 BEX, but when I run either BW3.X Analyzer or BI7.0 Analyzer and open query, the logon small window pops up with a blank system list.
Any idea on how to make the system list show up in the logon small window when opening query in BW3.X/BI7.0 Analyzer?  Maybe I need to have SAPGUI 6.40Add-ons with SAPLOGON Customizer installed first before I have SAPGUI 7.10Add-ons with SAPLOGON Customizer installed?
    Thanks for any suggestion!

Have you copied the inf file from another system and copy it to windows system directory?
You need to have that copied or you need manually each and every system using the server name and System ID
    thanks.

  • BW3.x - BEx - Views vs Queries

Where can I find the link between a view and the related query?
    Thanks.
    LQ

    You're right: this is cumbersome!
Opening a saved view is not possible in the ad-hoc web template!
    Two options again:
    1. in the BEx Analyzer menu: "Saved views"
    2. in a custom web template, inserting a web item "Query view selection"
    Hope it helps.
NB: You should open a new post to be able to award points.

  • Bex Report formula issue

    Hi Experts,
i have a column in my report which displays number of days the order is pending, like below
    Pending days.
    12
    24
    85
    65
    52
I want to display an additional column where i want to display a text to it for different range of days.
    like
    Pending days...........Day range
    12............................<15 Days
    24.............................15 - 25 Days
    85.............................> 50 Days
    65.............................> 50 Days
    52.............................> 50 Days
Can any body tell me how do i achieve this please.
    Thanks

    Hi Mo Ahmed,
You can always implement a solution in the BI system itself.
This would fix your issue of realising this only in the query or the report itself.
Create a new InfoObject to include in you BI flow. This InfoObject will capture the range and the text.
You can fill this InfoObject with a number like Sarah proposed. 0 when the value < 15, 1 when the value is between 15 and 50 and 2 when the value is > 50.
Now in the Master Data Text table for this InfoObject, you can fill in the descriptions you want for each value.
In the final report you just include this InfoObject's Text and you should have a solution.
If this is not what you want, can you please provide some additional information about your reporting?
Which BI system do you use (BI7, BW3.x, ...), what kind of reporting (BEx Web, BEx Analyser, ...), if you the possibility to modify the BI system or only reports, ...

    In the environment definition,
    -> External Application JDBC
    -> Properties
    -> Outbound JDBC Connection
You have the database URL in the "DriverProperties" field
Valid URL would be : jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/caps
!! The doc says that this field is optional !! Seems to be an error in the doc:
    Hope this helps

  • BW3.5 query

    Hi all,
I create vendor evaluation report in bw3.5 for that i use two data sources
omm_pur_ve_01 from that data source i use lifnr ,lebdt, ekorg, gesbu fields for vendor score and another data source is 0vendor_attr from that data source i use name1 ort01for geatting vendor information
Is that possible i featch data from 0vendor_attr on the basis of lifnr from( first data source)
i mean in bex suppose i drag lifnr field and name field and put the range for lifnr and when i execute that then it select all the name from second data source according to lifnr(that field present in first data source)
    thx

<b>any way for fetching data from different-different data sources on the basis on single field which is present in each data source
or should i create my own data source for full fill my requirement
    which one is right way</b>
Yes you can use different Datasources for an InfoSources. If SAP delivering, then why do you want to create new DataSource. If SAP is delivering better not create a DataSouce. Based on your requirment you can enhance it.
Also make sure where you are loading data. Cube or ODS. In ODS we have Overwrite functionality.
    Assign Points if useful.
    Thanks

  • Calling a query ( using a Button or Link) form a WAD application in BW3.5

    Hi,
I have build a web application using charts, graphs( involving BW3.5 QUERIES, views) using WAD3.5.  I however need a Button or a link( probably command URL) in the application screen,  TO CALL a perticular query or view in a separate window. Can anybody suggest how it could be done... I am using the Query Designer and web application designer for 3.5 version.
    Thanks

This will do what you need
in your html section of your WAD, add this code and make sure you create a separate template to open when you click this button.
    <FORM>
    <INPUT onclick="window.location.href='http://YOURSERVERINFORMAATION/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=O2C_KPI_LEAD_TIME_DOC'" type=button value=YOURDEFINTION> </FORM>
    Hope that helps.
    thanks.

  • Input of Multiple values in BEX Browser

    Dear All,
Can I input multiple values i.e Can I copy values from a excel or a data base which are at random and paste in BEX Browser as a input variable. is there any way to do this operation.
Note:- Values need not be in series as stored in table.

    Hi Abhijit,
I hope u are asking about input multiple values in data selection of the Query (Infact at selection screen, where u input the value for the query).
Well u can do this if u are using BW3.5 or Above. What u need to do is copy all those selection values from Excell sheet then at selection screen u have to there is a button of multiple copies which will suck values even more than 12 in numbers.
This functionality is perticularly benefial when u want to check the status BW for randon numbers of document numbers.
    Hope this works for u.
Kindly assign the points if u feel this solution workable for u.

  • How to connect BW with BEx

    Hi Experts,
I am using BW3.5. and BEx 7.0. I want to connect them.
Please guide me by sending step by step procedure.
    Thanx in advance.
    Vinod.

    Hi
To my knowledge that is not possible. For BW3.5 you need the BEx 3,5 SAP GUI ad on.
BEx 7,0 only applies for NW04s.

  • Bex Query designer withour Enterprise Portal?

    Dear BW experts,
After launching the Bex Query designer with BI7 system. After designing query, If I click on execute (Ctrl+R). It is launching internet explorer with error "Invalid Syntax error - Page cannot be displayed"
It is launching the following URL
    http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=ZCCQ20071048070001&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1
I think it is looking for Enteprise Portal server. I dont have an EP server.
What is the alternate way to execute this?
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hello to all of you,
just to make sure that I do not missunderstand:
As far as I know in BW3.5 (without EP installed) you were able to execute a query directly out of the query designer and it was shown as a web-query.
Now I tried to do the same with a BI7-System the first time and I get the same symptom as Abdullah. We also do not have an EP installed on that system.
As solution, you all describe that I have to open the query in analyzer to see it in excel - OK - BUT if I do not want to see it in excel but as a webquery (like in my good old BW3.5) instead ? Isn't that possible anymore ???

  • Missing parameters on Bex query selection screen

    Hi,
we are using BW3.5 (support pack 18) and one of our users has created a number of variants for a particular query which he executes via the Bex Analyser. The problem is, when ever he runs this query now, all the fields that he populated in his variants no longer appear on his selection screen - even if we delete all the variants.
He did not choose to hide any fields (in the variant) and he has not set any personal values in personalisation.
    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks,
    John.

    Hi Ozan.
Thanks for your reply however my problem was that the fields were no longer displayed on the selection screen thus there was no buttons to select for the personalisation settings therefore no way to turn off the personalisation.
However I discovered that if I executed the query using transaction RSRT the full selection screen was displayed and I could access the personalisation buttons for the parameters that had personalisation.
    Thanks anyway.

  • How to change color in BEx Browser?

    Hello Friends,
How to change color in BEx Browser?
My browser shows all the report description with pink color. I want to change the color.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Bhavin,
It seems the patches for BW Add-On are being kept pretty much in sync for 6.20 and 6.40 (i.e they seem to be released at around the same time, even that the patch level numbers are different).
However, at BW Add-on Patch level 4 on a SAPgui640 machine, we didn't have the "pink font" problem.
It may be that BW 3.5 Add-On patch 6 will have a similar effect for you - it may be worth trying.
Here is the link to the BW3.50 patch 6... https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~swdc/012002523100000108232005D/bw350_6-10001615.exe?_ACTION=DL_DIRECT
The patch 6 referred to above is for the BW3.50 Add-On - the SAPgui patch is typically a different number (the 11 that you mention is the SAPgui patch level).
    Best regards,
    Pat M.
