Bye bye m$ - Skype

Today I changed my OS to 64bit, and if still Skype owners are so stupid and doesnt want to release 64bit version of Skype, im saying Bye Bye.
PS. I see there is beta version of Web Skype, but its checking OS, and if its Linux than Audio/Video support is switched off. Now we see that is no any limitation of resources, or even saveing money for developers. Its policy to block Skype on Linux systems.
Im saing this again:
Bye bye Skype, Welcome Viber.

  • New number from skype

I need bye number  (Skype To Go numbers) from country: United Arab Emirates

I wish!  Although I have three verified numbers as caller ID for sms etc every time I send a text message through Skype it appears to come from some obscure Swedish mobile.  I have had long email correspondence with Skype cs and just today a whole hour chatting with them.  No result at all.  Guess texts will have to go through another messaging system until this is fixed.  Perhaps when they fix their problems with Mavericks this will go away.

  • Skype connect and bye more credit

I already paid 2 times 10 Euro each time through paypal. And in member features - I have 20 Euro Skype credit. But, when I attempt to do anything with Skype connect - my credit is 0, and I am again prompted to by more credit. But I do not need any skype services. I just need to see how Skype connect can be setup.
It is simple. For me, my country etc - there are many much better much cheaper services, and Skype can't offer nothing to beat them. But my client wants to use Skype Connect, and I have to solve his problems.
Unfortunately up to this moment, I see - Bye more credit, Bye more credit, and even I bought 2 times 10 Euro more credit, in Skype connect I have 0 credit and Bye more credit.
Unfortunately I can't see how I can send direct question to support, with all data of "bought" credit etc...
I was ready to pay something to setup Skype Connect, but it seems I am just paying to get nothing.

This is a killer for professional users. I postponed my plans to get / promote a business account until Microsoft gets its act together.

  • Like this. I hate to use Skype. Good Bye Skype. WH...

Skype can't read SMS by using Online Number. Bye the Services, all of you.

Use of Skype on a smart TV may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.  However the interface should be rather basic and easy to use.  I don't see how a class would be really necessary.   The process may even be covered in a startup guide provided with your TV.
Here's a link to a 2.5 minute video on it.  This one is specifically Samsung, but others should be similar.

  • Good bye skype

This is just to share my dissapointment.
After years using Skype I could not use it anymore.
I cannot make plain login on one PC while I could login on SmartPhone.
I can klogin on SmartPhonem but I cannot install the app.
I see many bells and whistles, but no access to basic functionality.

Lol...so now I read about ppl crying because they want a refund. RotfLmao.

  • Skype has Become Too Expensive- Bye Skype

Skype went from $60 a year last year including number and 12 month subscription to $165 a year. It seems the price increase happened as a result of Microsoft buying Skype. I just found a much cheaper solution that is not affiliated with Microsoft so there is hope. Farewell Skype, I was with you for 8 years

  • Good-bye verizon, hello wolrd

Goodbye Verizon, Hello World Account: 012xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Customer Id Code: 11xxxxxxx Customer since 1995 with 56k dial-up But not much longer. {edited for privacy} The service I am suppose to get: High Speed Internet Enhanced 3.1 to 7 Mbps What I really get: download 1.54mbps upload 0.41mbps Wednesday 21May 2014, 01:07:35 PM Your IP: {edited for privacy} Down 1.80 up 0.56 Reboot the modem.Again. Saturday 24-May 2014, 08:12:26 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} down 1.80 up .56 just like dial up. brings back fond memories. not. Sunday 25-May 2014, 07:55:15 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} So I do my daily ”how slow is Verizon today?”. http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ Monday 26-May 2014, 07:42:19 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} up 2.52 down .78 Monday 26-May 2014, 07:35:42 PM Your IP: {edited for privacy} down 2.89 up 0.77 almost like real internet.almost. So I goggle Verizon speed test I choose the “test my internet speed” It goes to “test your lousy internet to our business zoom-zoom fios!!!!!!!” http://www.verizon.com/smallbusiness/internetspeedtest/ Down 1.37 up .71 Now that’s interesting, as the speed is half of speakeasy.net website. So I choose the Verizon speed test on the left. http://www.verizon.com/home/fios-quantum-internet/speedtest.html down 2.90 up 0.71 Now the speed is almost the same as speakeasy.net Must be a mistake. So I run the test on each website several more times. Same results. Is it possible Verizon has deliberately throttled the business site speed by 50% to game the speed??????? Tuesday 27-May 2014, 07:49:56 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} down 2.89 up .78 Wednesday 28-May 2014, 07:41:56 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} down 2.89 up .77 Thank god it's Friday 13-Jun 2014, 07:43:39 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} down 0.77 up 0.75 Speakeasy result 8/7/2014 8:53 AM 2.89 Mbps 0.76 Mbps 98.112.2.172 Los Angeles, CA 08/13/2014 Service has been sporadic or non-existent for the last five days. Again. 8/13/2014 7:59 PM down 2.46 up .76 new ip {edited for privacy} 8/15/2014 1:39 PM down 2.53 up .76 ip {edited for privacy} 8/15/2014 4:52 PM Now slowly connects to internet. Won’t run speed test. Just sits at preparing download test. 08/16/2014 Get email on my smart phone. Yes, my phone. Can’t get emails from the the dsl line, or net access. “Verizon is experiencing a service disruption”. Notice its Verizon, not the customers, who have the disruption. The best part is it tells the customer to go to a web site to check on the outage. The web page I can't access as the dsl signal is down. What does the web page say, you ask??????? “We are having a disruption of service and are trying real hard to get it back up”. Again. I have finally dumped Verizon “enhanced” dsl for charter.net cable internet access. I went from this: down 2.90 up 0.71(sometimes) To this: down 63.54 up 3.31 Sixty-three point fifty-four mbps Charter cable, internet only cable box What a coincidence, now that I have real “enhanced” internet speed, Netflix flys like a rocket. No rebuffering, no “internet service not available”, no waiting for the movie to reload if I fast forward/rewind. And the best part is……. Drum roll, Please rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.(cymbol crash)! Fri, 30 May 2014 01:31:59 an email from Verizon Dear Valued Verizon Customer, We realize you have choices when it comes to choosing your Broadband provider, and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for being a loyal customer and for choosing Verizon. In order to continue to bring you quality service and product innovation, at times we need to raise our rates. Your monthly rate will increase by $3.00 That was all I needed to switch to Charter. So I’m going from $35 a month for slow and many times nonexistent service, to $40 for service that is 10 to 20 times faster, and doesn’t demand a bribe, err, a voluntary contribution from Netflix not to be throttled. And does anyone really believe Verizon position why net neutrality is bad????? Verizon Says It Wants to Kill Net Neutrality to Help Blind, Deaf and Disabled People http://billmoyers.com/2014/06/13/verizon-says-it-wants-to-kill-net-neutrality-to-help-blind-deaf-and... Verizon lobbyists are canvassing Capitol Hill with a curious new argument against net neutrality — it hurts disabled people. BAWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA The sad fact is Verizon, and all of the copper wire providers can't wait to dump you. I also cut the satellite/cable TV plans, as 500 channels and nothing to watch. I live in L.A. and are fortunate to have FREE DIGTAL over the air TV. So I programmed my TV to the 15 stations I only watch, use netflix, or gasp, read a book!!!!!!!!! So, good-bye Verizon. Adious. Zoi geen. Adieu. Annyeonghi kyeseyo. Arrivederci. Auf Wiedersehen. Do svidan’ya.

I know your pain and at least you have the choice to dump Verizon and go somewhere else. I don't have that choice because of where I live Verizon are the only internet providers. I've been having line issues since they moved me over to their "enhanced" service last year. Two months after I was switched my speed began to get throttled down so I called regular support, no help there, then I came here and Executive Appeals took over my case. Man, was that the worst decision ever because they actually made my line worse; constant dropouts began a week after they began working on my line. The original issue was only the throttling, so it went from that to my line being barely usuable but E A refused to fix the problem they caused and stopped talking to me altogther, left me high and dry. Anyway, back I went to regular support and that has turned into a nightmare. No one listens, no cares and now they want to take away the 7.1M that I've had for several years because they think that is causing the dropouts even though I have repeatedly told them that the E A caused the dropout issue and that I never had any major problems with the 7 megs. Sigh, so now on top of still having the throttling issue and dropouts, they want to downgrade my speed. They have had me at 1mbps (as a test) and I still had the dropouts, so I don't understand why they're insisting on lowering my speed permanently when they themselves (MCO) know the lower speed did not stop/correct the dropouts. This has been going on for 10 very long months and I went from having a mostly issue free, good line to an issue filled, bad line...and it continues. This November will be exactly one year since this ordeal began.
Anyway, didn't mean to hijack your post! But I'm glad at least you could leave Verizon and go somewhere better.

i think to bye imac for graphic design use purpose. kindly guide me. Is iMac best for me ?

    Hello artistsagar,
The word best is always subjective.   It is all a question of your needs, your working practice, your available space; I could go on.
A Mac (probably a 27"one) may well be perfect.  Good size screen, easily understood basic functions and a huge number of recommended programs.   Just Google Mac graphic design to see what is available.

  • Say good-bye to pirated computer games. Reasons for you to buy generic games!

    Found this article!
It is totally true. So many benefits of generic games!!
Please check its source here for more picture reference:
    http://happylifegreen.blogspot.tw/2015/01/say-good-bye-to-pirated-computer-games.html
    IT IS CHEAPER
One of major reasons for most people installing pirated games is because they want to save money. However, they are wrong! If they play it wisely, purchasing generic games can be much cheaper!
Thanks to this digital era; nowadays you can buy and download almost all games from internet. There are several major gaming platforms. Biggest ones are Steam, Uplay, and Origin.
Steam is the biggest digital platform which houses thousands of games in more than 237 countries and in 21 different languages. Uplay started with Ubisoft games like Assassin’s Creed series and now expands to a much wider range of games. Origin, on the other hand, is (currently) purely for EA games.
You can literally find so many game discounts EVERYDAY on these game platforms. Moreover, every now and then, they have big sales as well. For example, last month Steam had its holiday big sales which had more than 5554 games on sale!
It is common to see many, many 90% off, 75% off, 60% off… You need to be very self-constrained before you put too many games in your Shopping Cart! Haha!
Another good thing is that games in digital format do drop in prices.
In Steam, it is common that after a couple of months of its launch, a game will start to have discount, and then it will drop in prices. For example, when Thief was first launched in 2014, the price was US$59.99. But if you check it on Steam, its price now already dropped to US$29.99.
If you go to a retail shop and want to buy a box version of this game, the price will probably still be close to US$59.99.
On the other hand, if you buy pirated games. It could cost more.
Pirated games usually charges by number of DVDs, and one DVD costs around US$3.
Because of nice visual graphic, it is common to see games exceed 15GB—which will requires roughly 3 DVDs or more. One DVD cost $3; in another word, you need to pay $9 for one game.
Some games, for example, The Evil Within, requires more than 38.6GB of disk space. It will need, I’m not sure, maybe more than 8 DVDs? Which means US$24??
What I usually do is to add games in Wish List. When the game is on sales, Steam will send me email, and I will be able to track if I am satisfied with the discount percentage or not. Easy!
IT IS SAFE WITH NO VIRUS
This is easy. No one will argue that almost all, if not all, pirated games (or software) have malware hidden inside! There is no free meal. If you want to save money, you need to trade in something else.
I am not sure how those virus will do to me, but I don’t want it secretly downloading some funny stuff from internet, and definitely I don’t want my credit card or other personal info be stolen!
    YOU CAN CLOUD-SYNC GAME PROGRESS
Many games support cloud sync, meaning that you can go to any computer and start a game from where it left.
It is quite convenient. I have two laptops for home and office. When I go to a business trip, I can still continue my games from my work laptop.
In Steam, if you see a small cloud icon in front of games, it mean that the game supports cloud sync. The function works quite well!
    ENJOY TEAM WORK AND DLC
If you play pirated Battlefield 4 or Titanfall (and many others), say good-bye to team mode~
Quite a number of games—especially EA games— require you to connect to game server via internet in order to play in multiplayer mode.
If you want to play with friends or want to challenge other games, buy generic games!
Many games have DLC packs which allow you to equip with different weapons, outfit, or special items. Sometime, pre-purchased games give you these for free.
Well, no such benefits in pirated versions.
    EASY INSTALL AND UPDATE
How to install a game? You just need to click a “DOWNLOAD” button and then worry free. After installed, the game will update automatically; so you will always have the latest version of the game.
    HAVE A SENSE OF FULFILLMENT
Currently I have more than 140 games in Steam and many others in Uplay and Origin. I have quite a sense of fulfillment to see all those game icons in one place.
    GAMES WILL NEVER LOST
Years ago when there is no those digital platforms, you need to keep your game DVDs (or VCDs) well. Once lost, then bye-bye to the game. The same applies to pirated games that cannot comply with game platform.
If you own generic games, you will never lose them! You can change as many computers as you like; you can un-install games; you can buy-it-and-forget-it; you can keep games for generation for your grand-children. Those games will always be there waiting for you.
Once you want to put your hands on the games again, you just need to click “DOWNLOAD” button, and the game will alive once again!

So long, and thanks for contributing, in your way.

  • Good bye to this piece of junk

this is the most unreliable product I've ever encountered...yet more problems were experienced...and probably my fault for some rule not provided in the user guide..went to go workout and guess what ???? no music...the f'r is not working and apple support requires my paperwork to help...hmmm..it was a gift...I beat the crap out of it with my hammer then i cut up the installation cd into shreds..and shredded the paperwork...another 4 hours wasted trying to get this junk working...bye bye...I feel so much better now...I am running out to best buy tommorow to buy another brand...any brand of product...except apple what a ripoff....I hope microsoft buys em...thought I'd never say this...they're software is more reliable....ahhh..I feel better now...signing off of apple forever.....what a feeling...to the rest of you good luck...i hope you have hours to sit in front of your computer to make this sorry excuse for a product work..

So long, and thanks for contributing, in your way.

When you complete your current contract, Verizon has options on which incentives you would like to take.
You can sign a new 2 yr service contract by purchasing a new phone at a considerable discount(~$400+).
You can also choose to purchase a new smartphone on Edge at full retail cost for which Verizon will give you either a 37.5% or a 62.5% discount(depending on your data allowance) on your monthly line access fee when on the More Everything plan.
If you choose to simply continue using your current phone on the More Everything plan, Verizon ALSO offers the same 37.5%/62.5% discount(depending on your data allowance) on your monthly line access fee.
Of course, as with anything else, there are some which always want more of a discount than what is offered.
Hopefully, after you get used to the rates with your new provider, you won't then want MORE which they likely won't be willing to give you.
Good luck with the new provider.

  • Re: BYE-BYE! BEST BUY

I completely understand your issues with this but I in turn just bought a computer from best buy, did not purchase the protection plan, had a broken screen 18 days after it was purchased and no one was willing to help.  It had a small gash in the very side of the screen and ONE small crack in the corner.  After speaking to the manager they said they would send it off for repair and we have the option of having it fixed or returned "as is" as we were out of the 15 day policy.  Reluctantly we had it shipped to see what the cost would be.  After waiting a week ,the price to fix the screen was more than half of the price of the computer, so we opted to NOT have it fixed as it was still usable...the touch screen feature was just not available anymore.  The computer came back and it looked as though someone had thrown it around, stepped on it and put a piece of cardboard over it to ensure it would not be seen when it was picked up.  When I returned home and took the cardboard off I was absolutely mortified to see the state my computer was in.  I returned back to best buy to let them know this was NOT the condition they received my computer in...HOW ON EARTH can you return it to me like this.  The answers I got from geek squad... the very unknowledgeable, very unfriendly, very not customer service oriented people I dealt with was...sorry... I understand but we can't guarantee what happens in transit.  WHATTTTT??? Did you tape a piece of cardboard to the screen and throw it on a truck to be sent out??  Sooo...No I didn't get the protection plan, as obviously a freak accident was not forseen on my part that the screen would crack...but even if you don't have the "plan" you are pretty much out of luck.  If "in transit" is not guaranteed...had I gotten the screen fixed...they couldn't guarantee transit on the way back...could I have gotten the computer back broken again after it was fixed due to no guarantee of transit?? REALLY???  I am, by no means, a rich person but it would seem that a little help in this situation could have saved a lot of disgruntled customers.  The manager was not friendly.  Geek squad was not friendly.  And when purchasing such a big item some kind of CUSTOMER SERVICE would have been appreciated.  I think a big company, such as this, should back their products and do something to KEEP their customers happy ,but in my opinion they are such a big company, they employ zombies, anyone who is not friendly or helpful, and are people who should not be in the customer service field.  All in alll...You can't win with this company.  My computer is an "all in one"... if I send it out am I going to get a whole different computer... if I send it out will the screen be fixed and the computer be junk because of "not guaranteeing transit"??  I believe that is a complete cop out...they should have taken better care of "their customer", "their customers item" and returned the item "as is"...as we were told.
I stand behind you in saying BYE BYE BEST BUY...as I will never purchase anything from there again!!  And I assure you they have not heard the last from me!!
    Best of luck to you!!

    Hi toofunnee,
As a previous Geek Squad agent myself, I don’t like to hear of experiences like the one you describe. You should feel confident knowing our agents are taking every precaution possible to ensure your computer arrives back to you in the same condition we received it, so I apologize if this wasn’t the case with your new computer.
When a computer is turned in for service, we should be performing multiple tests to narrow down all issues the computer is having. One of these tests includes a physical examination of your computer so that we may know its condition at the time of check-in to ensure you receive it back from service in the same or better condition in which you turned it in under.  As you agreed to send your computer out for an estimate, we should process your computer for shipping to one of our service center locations by packing your computer up with the upmost care before handing it off to UPS for delivery. The same should have occurred with your computer when shipping it back to your local store.
Clearly, something went wrong if your computer arrived in a worse condition than documented, and I’d like to help to see if we have any available options to us from here. Unfortunately, I’m unable to locate your computer’s service record using the email address provided to register on the forum, so I’ve sent you a private message to collect further information from you. You may view it by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
    Thank you for posting,

  • I want to communicate a RS485/2-wire device through COM1. I tried Instrument I/O Assistance to write to COM1(hex string with or without end bye:0D0A), something happened on the bus, but is not defirrential signal, and device didn't recognised them.

I am new to LabView, so please bear with me...
I tried to communicate with an RS485/2-wire device through COM1.  I used Instrument I/O Assistant (and Advanced/Basic Serial Write and Read examples) to write command (HEX string) to COM1,
tried writing HEX strings with and withour end bye (is 0D0A the correct end signal for HEX string?).  Both didn't get device's responce.  Looks like the device didn't recognize the command.
I monitored the transmitted signals on the bus, they were not differential as supposed to be.....
What is the possible reason to cause this? Please help...
The hardware connection is OK, because I am able to communicate with the device through COM1 (with the same command) using different software application.

How are you sending the hex? Is your string control set for hex display or normal? If it's set for normal, then if you send something like 'AD', then you aer sending the ASCII characters 'A' and 'D' and that's not the same thing. I don't believe the I/O assistant can send hex but you can modify the basic serial write and read to do so. Just right click on the string control and select 'Hex Display'. You can also enter the data in a numeric control (set for dex display) and use a type cast or an array of U8's and use the Byte Array to String function. Hex data usually doesn't use any kind of termination characters such as CR/LF.
If communication is working with another app, then as you said, the hardware is okay and it's not a problem with differential signaling.

Odd... either iTunes games in the store go away when you own them, or they don't carry Peggle anymore. I mean, yeah I own it, but still what happened I wonder?
