C++ function templates

Is there a trick to using function templates in xcode (3)? I've got a template, and it type checks fine, but when it tries to link I get what looks like a really complicated "symbols not found" error.
I know that in some compilers, you need to do a preliminary step to get templates to compile correctly, in others you need to #include the .cpp file with the template defs into every .cpp file that uses one of hose defs, rather than just standard .h files.
Is there something similar in xcode?
thanks

If you put your code between two lines of:
{ code }
{ code }
without the spaces, it will print out nicely.
Remember, everything has to be inline. Try the following:
in PrefMaps.h
#ifndef GETPREF_TEMPLATE
#define GETPREF_TEMPLATE
template <class Pref>
inline short getPrefResIdFromIndex(map<int, Pref> prefMap, int index)
#endif
in PrinterCtl.c
typedef map<int, HPrinterInfo> Printers;
Printers printers;
getPrefResIdFromIndex(printers, getitemctl(SDPREQUESTITEM + i));
Usually, with function templates, you don't need the #define guards. They are more important with template classes. Still, it can't hurt.

  • Problem in getting the function template object from the repository.

    Hi all,
    I have created a par file. I have a JCO connection in that. I am facing problems in getting the function template object from the repository. This thing is running successfully when i try to deploy it in Tomcat. But i am facing problems when i try to deploy it in SAP EP 6.0.
    Below is statement which is giving error after being deployed to SAP EP6.
    This is executing fine when executed in Tomcat Server.
    // getting the object of function template
    IFunctionTemplate functionTemplate =
    aRepository.getFunctionTemplate("YADDNEWUSER");
    Note : YADDNEWUSER is the name of the RFC which I am calling from my JAVA Code.
    Thanks in advance,
    Divija

    This sounds like a bug in the smart upload code. I have used this stuff before, but it's probably an older version, so maybe they broke something. Enumerations aren't usually guaranteed to keep things in any particular order. I would say for now, make a method to take the enumeration and a param name to find the value. And write to the JSPSmart people.

  • JCO Server - function template definition

    Hi all,
    I'm writing a JCO Server application where I define a function template with three tables each with a number of character fields.
    It seems that I need to set the length of each field to the double of the corresponding field of the SAP function.
    For example, the field COD_ZONE should be a char(2) (valid value: B1) and then I need to set the char length to 4 otherwise a truncated value is received.
    It looks like a double-byte character set is set in SAP environment, but it should not be the case.
    Do you have any idea ?
    Thanks for helping

    Yes,
    we have unicode environment.
    That means that I can't use following definition ?
    fmeta = new JCO.MetaData("FUNC");
    fmeta.addInfo("TABLE", JCO.TYPE_TABLE, 2, 0, 0, 0, "HEADER");
    repository.addFunctionInterfaceToCache(fmeta);
    JCO.MetaData tableMeta = new JCO.MetaData("HEADER");
    tableMeta.addInfo("OBJECT_ID", JCO.TYPE_CHAR,  2, -1, 0);

    Check the RFC that connects to the BI Abap.
    Its reporting the J2EE_GUEST user in the SAP with the system nr 00.
    Is this BI java portal?
    Is the java portal a addon to Abap or having seperate SID?
    Check the connection definitions are correct and the gateway is running.

  • RFC Sender error could not create function template for...

    Hi,
    I am trying to send an async RFC to XI. Since I use IN BACKGROUND TASK and COMMIT WORK I got following error in the SM58 of the back end system
    Server repository could not create function
    template for 'XYZ'
    In the XI, I see nothing (no message, no error)
    How can I fix this problem?
    Thanks
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
      You may need to have logical destinatio types for sender RFC. (and in the refernce entry you need to provide the actual destination)
    may be some other errors also, Check this link and see if you have followed all the steps.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/25/76cd3bae738826e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
    Hope this fixes your issue.

  • Bex Web : Functions Template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN

    Hi all,
    I have some questions on the standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN :
    1/ How to delete an entry in the favorites ? (function "open")
    2/ Could you explain "Bex Portfolio" and "My portfolio" ?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Bertrand

    Hi,
    This is a typical front end issue where you have to look at your GUI
    patch and front end patch.I recommend you deinstalling your frontend
    installation as follows:
    - Remove your frontend via 'START' - 'PROGRAMS' - 'SAP FRONTEND' -
       'REMOVE SAP FRONTEND'
    Please goto
    -> service.sap.com/patches
    -> entry by application group
    -> SAP Frontend Components
    -> GUI 7.20
    -> BI ADDON FOR SAP GUI
    -> BI 7.0 ADDON FOR SAP GUI 7.20
    -> BI 7.0 ADDON FOR SAP GUI 7.20
    -> Win32
    ->  - Install the latest frontend and GUI patch and check the installation
       again with sapbexc.xla
    Please run the front-end checktool SAPBEXC.XLA as per Note 197460 and
    ensure there are no errors.
    Please refer to following Notes for GUI patch and front end patch:

  • Template

    Is there an App that allows me to Create -Edit -Save a Template type document directly on the iphone4

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Igor.
    I have modified to meet your advice and I get
    the following compiler error:
      error C2783: 'X total(X)' : could not deduce template argument for 'addition'
    template < typename T1, typename T2>
    T2 addition( T1 t1,T2 t2){return t1+t2;}
    template <typename X,template <typename,typename> class addition>
    X total(X x1){return x1+addition(x1+5,x1+7);}
    int main()
      cout<<total(12)<<"\n";
    Well, looking at the declaration of "total", and and the call "total(12)", how is the compiler supposed to guess what the second template parameter should be?
    Note also that "total" expects a class template as its second template argument. In your program, there are no class templates at all. There is a function template (also, confusingly, named "addition"), but it isn't suitable as an
    argument for "total".
    If the idea was for "total" to always call "addition" function, then make it
    template <typename X>
    X total(X x1) { return x1+addition(x1+5, x1+7); }
    If the idea is something else, then explain what you are trying to achieve. It's not at all clear from the code.

  • How to create an array of functions

    normally I use
    repository.getFunctionTemplate(functionName);
    to get a function object.
    Is there a way to get an array of function objects for a function name.
    I am trying to execute multiple functions in the same connection to reduce calls for logging on and off for each call.
    Thanks,
    Aditya Pandit

    Hi Aditya,
    From
    <a href="https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04s/SPS7/jc/com/sap/mw/jco/IFunctionTemplate.html">JavaDoc</a>:
    <i>getFunction
    public JCO.Function getFunction()
    <b>Creates</b> a function object from the template and returns it
    Returns:
    the function created from the template
    </i>
    So, you can reuse function template to create multiple fuctions.
    Best regards, Maksim Rashchynski.

  • Templates used in the Apex application - How can we (re)used them ?

    Hello,
    when using the application builder itself, there are some page templates which can be very useful for our specific applications made by APEX. For example, the page "Report edition" (to detail a region based on report) is a very nice functional template, for these reasons :
    1. implementing a tab navigation inside a region (region definition / report attributes / print attributes)
    2. implementing a master/detail view, with multiple details and the possibility to show or hide these regions thanks to the header and the buttons on it (Show all / col attributes ....)
    Is there an easy way to integrate these good practices in our pages (existing wizards ? others techniques ?)
    Thanks,
    VF.

    Frit,
    See if the following post by David Peake helps:

  • Inline XSLT Call Template within Scripting Functoid logic needed

    In my Scripting Functoid, Config Functoid Script, Script type is Inline XSLT Call Template code is as follows.
    <xsl:template name="CanadaInformation">
    <xsl:param name="CanadaClientCd" />
    <xsl:param name="CanadaStatCd" />
    <xsl:element name="CanadaStatus">
       <xsl:choose>
          <xsl:when test="string-length($CanadaStatCd) > 0">
               <xsl:value-of select="$CanadaStatCd"/>
           </xsl:when>
           <xsl:otherwise>
               <xsl:value-of select="$CanadaClientCd"/>
           </xsl:otherwise>
        </xsl:choose>
       </xsl:element>
    </xsl:template>
    In this test case I think the Scripting Functoid is expecting 2 Parameters as input and in most cases the 2 input parameters will have data coming in, but in negative testing I have a case where the 2nd parameter is not passing any data (Value Mapping is
    coming from a Table lookup and the the input is blank, so the table lookup is not executed).
    Instead of trying to test for the length of the string of Parm 2 (which in the negative case there is no value for Parm2), I was wondering if there was a way to count the actual number of Parms being read into the XSLT. In the cases with my positive test,
    the number will be 2 and in the negative case, the number will be one.
    Or is there a way to confirm that there is something in the 2nd Parm.
    Thank you!

    I don't think there is a way count the number of parameter in XSLT (or even in any programing language's procedural calls). Where would execute the code/XSLT to check the count-With in your above "CanadaInformation" template?. What your looking for
    is something at engine level, i.e. is count the number of parameters being read and pass the control based on the number of parameters being read/passed.
    Or close option for this if you have something like overloaded functions/template. In XSLT we don't have anything like overloaded functions/templates.
    If you don't pass/link two parameter, you would error as "The number of inputs to the scripting functoid does not match with the number of inputs expected by the xsl:call-template"
    Your above code shall do the check for value of the parameter. Your code shall handle if "CanadaStatCd" is passed in or not. If you're considering other ways, you have some as follows:
    You can have "<xsl:when test="not($CanadaStatCd)">"- Which is same as parameter not being passed. So your code can be something like:
    <xsl:template name="CanadaInformation">
    <xsl:param name="CanadaClientCd" />
    <xsl:param name="CanadaStatCd" />
    <xsl:element name="CanadaStatus">
    <xsl:choose>
    <xsl:when test="not($CanadaStatCd)"> <!-- parameter has not been supplied -->
    <xsl:value-of select="$CanadaClientCd"/>
    </xsl:when>
    <xsl:otherwise>
    <xsl:value-of select="$CanadaStatCd"/>
    </xsl:otherwise>
    </xsl:choose>
    </xsl:element>
    </xsl:template>
    Have a default values to your parameter and check whether the values are differernt from default values if values are passed in otherwise if the value are still default value, then no value are passed in. Something like:
    <xsl:template name="CanadaInformation">
    <xsl:param name="CanadaClientCd" />
    <xsl:param name="CanadaStatCd" select="'SomeDefaultValue'" /> <!-- SET default -->
    <xsl:element name="CanadaStatus">
    <xsl:choose>
    <xsl:when test="$prefix != 'default-value'">
    <xsl:value-of select="$CanadaStatCd"/>
    </xsl:when>
    <xsl:otherwise>
    <xsl:value-of select="$CanadaClientCd"/>
    </xsl:otherwise>
    </xsl:choose>
    </xsl:element>
    </xsl:template>
    Have another scripting fuctiod before you call the above XSLT-template. Do the check at this scripting function and call the template based on the validation you do at this scripting functiod.
    If this answers your question please mark it accordingly. If this post is helpful, please vote as helpful by clicking the upward arrow mark next to my reply.

  • Subvi waiting to run (objective function)

    Dear Users,
    I have an optimization process using unconstrained nonlinear optimization and an objective function. The only place I use that objective function is in a subVI (let's call it Optimise.vi), where I supply that to the optimization subVI (which is LabVIEW native). After running my whole program, the Optimise.vi stops and is in the idle state. But the objective function and all of its subVIs are in a running state, and their run-arrows display "SubVI waiting to run" or "Run" (always with an arrow inside an arrow). I could check on the state of the two VIs using a VI by Marche at http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/SubVI-Waiting-to-Run/td-p/49432.
    The execution of the Optimise.vi and the objective function is set to "shared clone". If I set the execution of the Optimise.vi to "non-reentrant", then the objective function also ends in the idle state. But my program runs longer, and I would like to avoid that.
    Is this behavior bad? Should I care about it?
    Cheers,

    Dear ghighuphu,
    I really like to help you with your issue but some more informations are necessary.
    I assume you use this optimization function:
    Constrained Nonlinear Optimization VI
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/gmath/constrained_nonlinear_optimization/
    Did you create the objective function from the template located here: labview\vi.lib\gmath\NumericalOptimization\cno_objective function template.vit ?
    In the template the execution settings should be right.
    For further troubleshooting a screenshot would be nice. Feel free to come back to me.
    Kind Regards,
