C6180 printer offline even though it's connected to the network.

My c6180 printer won't connect with my computer. I went through the network settings on the printer itself and the settings on the printer itself show that it's connected to my router.  But when I try to send a document to the printer, my computer shows that the printer is offline. How do I get it back online?

I would take a look at the document below it should help resolve your issue.

Thanks for the reply. I never get the option to "Restore Previous History" from History. I don't even have the box checked that asks to delete the history when Firefox closes. I don't know what's wrong, no matter what, I always lose everything. I have the box marked "Show my windows and tabs from last time" for when I open Firefox, but it never shows that, just my homepage. Also, when I check my History, it only shows the pages that I opened since I started Firefox, nothing from before. Even if I were to open up 10 pages now, close Firefox, and open it, the history would only show the homepage that opened this time, not any of the 10 pages that I opened 5 minutes ago.

I just bought a new pc and for our internet connection we have an airport express. My laptop can connect to it but my airport utility won't recognize it. Even though it does connect to the internet about every 15 minutes the internet shuts off. What should I do?

If you've not yet tried, unpower the AppleTV for a minute or so and restart - this occasionally corrects issues.
If not and the software update seems to have caused an issue, go to the Settings menu and choose to Restore it (this will erase all settings) to reapply current firmware.
Alternatively try to do so via iTunes:

My MacBook Pro will not open any app or program that requires Internet, even though I am connected to the web. I recently installed Norton AntiVirus and think it may have changed a setting that I couldn't find. I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help. Every time I open Safari, iTunes or any other program that tries to connect to the Internet, it crashes. Strangely enough, Skype still works, but nothing else.
    I have OSx 10.6.8.
I have tried erasing plists, and all the standard troubleshooting, ie resetting modem, restarting computer, reloading Safari from disk.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Change your router channel.  Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router.  Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.

I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help.
To properly uninstall Norton software follow these instructions - Locate Symantic Solutions folder inside the Applications folder at the root level of your HD, launch the Symantec Uninstaller application, select the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate, Norton AntiVirus & Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect entries and click the Uninstall button.
Confirm your decision when prompted and then enter your administrator password in the space provided.
Retart your computer & Norton should be gone for good.
If the above does not work, download a copy of Symantec’s RemoveSymantecMacFiles removal utility.  This utility will launch Terminal & remove the Norton components.

  • My Firefox won't let me browse the Internet, even though I'm connected to the Internet.

Excuse me, but my Firefox 3.6 just randomly stopped working. It won't let me browse the Internet anymore-- the error message it always gives me is "Unable to connect", even though I'm fully connected to the Internet. Earlier I opened up Safari and Internet Explorer 9-- both, in which, let me browse the Internet, and I had a full connection. But, whenever I use Firefox now, it says "Unable to connect". And every time I type in a URL on it, Firefox gives me the ''SAME'' error message. I don't know what to do now. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and it does the same thing. So now I am stuck with using Safari, when I really wanna use my Firefox. Why is it doing this?

Make sure you are not set to Work Offline in File menu.
There is a possibility that your connection dropped even briefly, more so if using wireless. Make sure Firefox is not set to "[v] Work Offline" in File menu just above Exit.
By default, Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 will automatically use offline mode if there is no network connection. Under certain conditions, after the connection is reestablished it may remain in offline mode without the user's knowledge. Firefox 4 and newer prevents this behavior by default. To prevent this behavior in versions 3.5 and 3.6, add an entry to the '''about:config''' options, as follows.
    * Type '''about:config''' in Location (address) bar
    * Right-click on the about:config page to open the right-click context menu and use "New > Boolean" to create a new Boolean preference. Name: '''network.manage-offline-status'''. Value: '''false'''

  • Even though I can connect to the app store, apps rarely will download.

Even though the iPad can connect to the app store, apps and updates do not download (except occasionally).
The error message is "Cannot connect to the iTunes store."  Obviously there is something wrong with that error message, since the iPad actually connects to the store in order to attempt installing an app or update.
I have tried changing networks, changing locations, rebooting the iPad, turning WiFi off and back on and downloading updates instead of new apps, but the fact is that apps and updates will rarely download.  I have gone through every troubleshooting item in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368, http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1424, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398, although I found that almost all of it does not refer to my problem.  I also tried everyting in an advanced iTunes troubleshooting document I can no longer find.  The fact that it works some of the time seems to eliminate most of the troubleshooting steps, which assume the problem is not intermittent.
This started several weeks ago. Before that, I had no problems dowloading and installing apps.  The problem started abruptly.  At first apps would download maybe 75-80% of the time, but lately, it has gotten rediculous.  The successful download is highly intermittent.  Apps and updates will download maybe one in 20 attempts or so.
This is an iPad 2 running iOS 5.01.
If anyone can give me some ideas how to proceed here, I'd really appreciate it!

  • Ipod Touch can't browse Safari, even though it is connected to the Internet with a full signal...

I asked a question a few days ago about my Ipod Touch's Internet not working and someone suggested that it was because my router has the same IP as the DNS when using the DHCP setting. So what I did was changed the IP to Google's universal IP (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) and I am still having the problem of not being able to connect to the Internet. My router is an SMCWBR14S-N4 and I updated it to the latest firmware (September 2010). I was looking at an article about iOS recommended settings for WI-FI (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199) and I did everything it told me to. I set my SSID to a unique name. My network is not hidden. MAC address filtering is turned off. My security is WPA2-Personal (AES). My network is 2.4 GHz and is set to 802.11 b/g/n. My channel setting is auto. Channel width is 20 MHz. My only confusion is the DHCP server and NAT. I believe I only have one DHCP server on my network but I am unsure of how to figure that out. I believe NAT is only enabled on my router but again I am unsure if it is or not.
    My Network settings are:
    DHCP
    IP Address 192.168.2.101
    Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
    Router 192.168.2.1
    DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
Search Domains and Client ID are blank.
    HTTP Proxy is off.
    (edit)
Correction: I am aware that the WI-FI disconnects when locked. I set my Touch to never auto-lock and have not locked it manually.
    * When I reset my network settings, it did not work.
    * When I flip the WI-FI button off and back on, it seems to fix the problem but only temporarily.
    * When connecting to Safari I get the message "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet."
    * If it were a DNS issue, I would get the error message "Safari cannot connect to the server" right?
    * My laptop can connect wirelessly to my Internet just fine.
Anyway, I am asking for even the slightest bit of information that might help me since I have tried everything and am still unable to fix the problem.

    Try:
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
Next, try doing a manual install/update using the instructions here:

  • I receive a "failed to connect" message even though I am connected to the wireless network. What's wrong?

I'm not even sure it's a problem with Firefox. Every time I attempt to connect to the internet, I receive a "failed to connect" error message. I've checked my network connection and it's connected, but I can't get any pages to load. I do not have a firewall installed, and I've run out of ideas on how to fix it.

  • The URL that was set for my homepage redirects to a network authorization page even though I cannot connect to that network.

I am no longer within range of a network that I was ''attempting'' to connect to as ''guest'' and now the guest registration page for the network overrides the url that was set for my home page in Firefox. (I never actually established a connection to the internet on that network because the guest username and password repeatedly failed.) The redirect executes whenever I type the URL, www.yahoo.com, into the address bar or when I follow a link from a search engine to that URL, or when I click the home button. How can I stop the
redirect? I deleted all network locations that contained that network and cookies that contained the network name but that did not stop the page redirection. I do not believe this to be a virus or malicious network because it was at an research institute. I looked in prefs.js for any keywords from that network but I did not find anything obvious.
    Thank you for your help.
