WiFi LED is still emitting amber/oran​ge color even though it is connected to a network

Hi guys,
I'm having problems with my HP G4-1202AX's wifi LED..
The LED color is still amber/orange even though I am alread connected in a wifi network.
Any fix for this?

You have a couple of options as I see it please try these steps might help you to fix your issue.
1) Disconnect the Battery & Adapter then press & hold the power button on Notebook for 30 seconds then turn on the unit and check if the Wireless light turns on.
2) Go to Device manager then uninstall the wireless drivers from Network Adapter and restart the unit and check if the light turns on.
3) Please update the Bios & Wireless driver from HP website.
4) Click start in search type Recovery Manager then click on it select Yes on User access control then select I need immediate help then select Driver & application recovery select the wireless driver and install it then restart the unit.
5) If you are comfortable reseating the wireless card which will be on the back panel off your unit you could try this steps as well.

  • Still using an old tnsnames.ora even though it was erased

    I downloaded and unzipped 1.2.1-32.13. But it is not reading my new tnsnames.ora.
    My operating system is XP pro.
    Initially I had just the oracle client installed with it's own tnsnames.ora and added sqldeveloper 1.0.0 and then later 1.2.1. I couldn't get my connections to work at all in either one. Unfortunately this was a corporate install that had some "wrapper" on it, not just the Oracle install tool and I removed it by running Oracle install tool and then removing oracle_home from the registry - something initially fishy here because Oracle couldn't completely get rid of it.
    I then installed a full oracle 10g and put a good tnsnames.ora there. Now sqlplus and the database work fine, but sql-developer 1.2.1 still has the old (bad) tnsnames even though the file no longer exists. I did a full search of both C and D drives including system and hidden files for a file with a string that existed only in the old tnsnames file that sqldeveloper still shows and it came up with no matching files. I also can't find it in the registry (didn't expect to tho).
    My previous version of sqldeveloper (1.0.0.15.57) finds the new tnsnames.ora just fine and works well, but the new one is stuck with the old entries and I can't figure out how to tell it to get the new file.

    I have no defined connections in my sql-developer 1.2.1.No defined connections is consistent with not being able to find a connections.xml.

    I have only one tnsnames.ora and no other files named even remotely like tnsnames and no files containing the string "P902.oracledb" which is the first tns connection shown in sql-developer 1.2.1 list of tns connections. As I said I verified this by doing a Windows search of all files on both drives including system and hidden files.A Windows search for file contents only searches contents for certain file types - I can search a directory containing a tnsnames.ora file for something that is in my tnsnames.ora file but it is not found by the Windows search.
    I suspect there is a registry entry that is pointing to somewhere, so I deleted sqldeveloper ...The TNS stuff for SQL Developer is not based on the SQL Developer install but the Oracle Client install, so reinstalling the same version of SQL Developer will not change the TNS issue.
    There has got to be some other place where this information is stored, but where?Have you checked %USERPROFILE%? This the Win XP version of the $HOME and a tnsnames.ora file in %USERPROFILE% takes precedence over one in %TNS_ADMIN% (it did for me at least).

    Here is what I would do:
    Shutdown all computers connected to the router.
    Power off the router.
    Power off the modem (cable or DSL).
    Wait 30 seconds.
    Power on the modem. Ensure all lights are lit and the modem is online.
    Power on the router. Ensure it's communicating to the modem.
    Turn on your Macbook Pro first (the one experiencing the issue. Check it's connection. If it's still having issues, removed the networks it can attach to, turn off WiFi; then turn WiFi back on and reconnect to your WiFi network.
    Turn on other Macs in household. Check their connections.
    Sometimes "rebooting" the modem and router fixes connectivity issues.

    Flashing is asking for your attention.. the actual issue could be trivial.. or major.
    Open Airport utility.. look at status.. click on status or the amber led.. it will list the problem/s

  • I have a 5th generation iPod touch that is suddenly "unable to connect to the server", not entirely sure what this means but I'm unable to connect to the internet even though I'm connected to Wifi. Can't connect to iTunes on my pc either. Any input?

    I have a 16GB iPod touch that suddenly stopped connecting to the internet last night. Everytime I try to get mail, or access anything with Safari I get a message saying that it can't connect to the server. Also I've plugged it in to my home computer but it won't connect to iTunes either. I haven't updated to iOS8 yet as I didn't have enough space for it and I had planned on deleting all my music files, updating the software and putting whatever music I could fit back on to the device afterward, but now I'm hesitant to do that as I have no way to get any of the files back onto the device. Could this be because I haven't updated to iOS8 yet? I've been having other problems such as apps crashing unexpectedly lately as well, for example my music shuts off randomly and apps such as Twitter and Tumblr and a few others crash on launch. I'm definitely not a genius when it comes to technology by any means, so I have no idea what's causing this problem or how to fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
    Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iOS device connect before?
    Try the following to rule out a software problem:                
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
    .- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network      
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • FireFox still identifies pdfs as Foxit documents even though I'm opening them in Adobe Reader and uninstalled the Foxit trial and FF plugin years ago.

    When I click on a pdf file link in FireFox, the Windows open file dialogue opens, saying "You have chosen to open [filename]

    THERE IS NO PROBLEM OPENING THE FILE. It opens in Adobe Reader, in a window outside of Firefox, which is exactly what I have it set up to do. The problem is that it identifies the file as a "Foxit Reeader PDF Document," even though I uninstalled the Foxit trial and associated FireFox plugin ages ago, and Foxit does not appear anywhere on my computer in any way, shape or form (that I have access to). No Foxit in the file associations for Windows, or in the applications associations for FireFox. There is no Foxit plugin installed, and I even went and deleted what was left of the Foxit directory. Yet pdfs are still identified in FireFox as Foxit files, so FireFox must be storing this old info somewhere. How do I get rid of it?
    BTW, files open in a browser window inside the browser in the other 3 browsers I have installed, so there is no open file dialogue, and I can't tell whether there is the same problem. When I check the properties of a pdf outside of FireFox (by rightclicking a pdf on my desktop, for example), it is identified as an Adobe Reader file. I have both Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat. I have two Adobe Acrobat plugins showing in FireFox (10.1.8.24 and 11.0.5.3). Should I have two? No plugins, extensions, or anything else by Foxit.

    Most likely this information is in the mimeTypes.rdf file, which can accumulate a lot of obsolete information which occasionally does cause problems. You can rename the file and have Firefox rebuild it from scratch with only the current applications detected (as far as Firefox can tell from the Windows Registry).
    Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
    Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
    Switch back to Firefox and Exit
    Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''mimeTypes.rdf''' to something like mimeTypes.old
    Restart Firefox. Presumably now it will forget all about Foxit. Unfortunately, it may also have forgotten some of your application preferences, but hopefully those won't take too long to reestablish.

    Hi,
    I'm currently looking at a number of users with access to sensitive transactions (e.g. SCC4).
    When looking at a combination of the AGR_ROLES and AGR_TCODES tables I can see there is currently only one active role and one active user assigned this access which would fall in line with what was to be expected based on the population I am looking at (we're not concentrating on auth object level for now).
    However when I go through SUIM and filter on users by complex criteria and enter transaction code SCC4, about 20-30 users pop up (this is how many people used to be assigned access to SCC4).
    When access was removed for these 20-30 users, it was done at 'role level' so my question is, even if roles have been removed, when looking through SUIM would a user still appear to have transactions associated with that role assigned - if so, why does this happen? I assumed once a role is removed it would removed the underlying transactions etc with it?
    My assumption at the moment is that even though SUIM is showing users still have access to SCC4 they can't actually use it as the role it was associated with has been removed.
    Any help/clarity on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Goto PFCG  -> Role Name -> user comparision
    then check in SUIM still user is having that Tcode or not .
    for detail
    Go to SUIM
    Roles by complex selection criteria -> put Tcode there
    it will give you Roles name having that tcode . and then you go to that Role and you will get list of Users in PFCG (User assignment Tab) .
    same goes with User
    SUIM - Users  by complex selection criteria - > put tcode -> Profiles associated with - > roles assosiated with it .
    But i suggest after you make any changes to Role / Profile you please do user comparision .

    That's usually a problem with the Segoe UI fonts on your system.

  • Why does the amber light stay on even though the WiFi works?

    My WIFi just stopped yesterday.
    Initially nothing worked. I then Restarted the router—then the Airport Extreme–NOTHING.  I called Apple support. He had me push the re-start button and a few other things.  I can now get on WIFi, but the amber light still stays on. Why? Although my Mac works great, my iPhone doesn't.
    Any ideas?

    I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
    Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
    Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
    Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
    Power-up your computer(s).
    If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
    Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
    While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref:Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
    After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
    Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
    Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
    In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

    so i just got a mac book pro 13 " on saturday, and everything seems to be working fine. but every once in a while the internet will just stop loading and nothing will work even the app store. My laptop still says that its connected to the wifi though. the only thing that will help is if i restart the mac. can somone please help me?

  • HT1311 im borrowing a friends ipod touch and want to add apps to it. i signed into my apple account but when i go to the app store it still asks for my friends password even though my apple ID account is signed in. any help?

    I'm borrowing a friend's iPod touch until I get another phone and I want to add some apps. I deleted all the apps that weren't needed and then I tried to add some of the apps that I need. I switched the Apple ID account on the iPod and the iCloud account to my own along with all the other apps (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, Skype, mail, YouTube, etc.) When i go to the Apple app store and try and update or download a new app it still asks for the old password. How do I get it so when I try and download new stuff it asks for MY password?

    It is showing updates because your machine is tied to the original purchase and will remain so until you wipe the drive.
    As you purchased it used and the seller obviously did not do what he was supposed to do and that is erase the hard drive and reinstall the original system, you will run in to far more difficult problems when you need to reinstall for whatever reason. The new licensing requirements are that any mac is sold with the original OS - any OS or app obtained at the app store is NOT transferable and the buyer needs to purchase their own license. That means you will not be able to reinstall the OS.
    At some point, you will need to try to get either the original install disks (from the seller or Apple) and wipe your drive and reinstall. Then you can download your own licensed copy of Mavericks and any apps you want.

    Hi there, recently I've been trying to use my macbook as a router by turning on network sharing.
    I'm sharing my connection through PPPoe.
    It worked great for my 3DS and I was able to play online flawlessly
    (unfortunately I don't have any other mobile device so I could only test this on my 3DS and ipod touch
    But my ipod touch 4th gen, while it is able to connect to wifi with a strong bar, I cannot access the internet via web browsers and some of the apps.
    It always gives me the 'cannot connect to internet' message.
    What further puzzles me is that I can receive, update, and check my mail perfectly fine.
    I've already tried the following:
    1) unplugging and replugging my modem
    2) forgetting the network on my ipod and re-access it
    3) resetting network setting on ipod
    4) tweaking with the internet sharing setting like trying different channels and different types of security
    5) turning off and on my ipod, and turning off and on the wifi on my ipod
    Anyway, I'm really stumped and I hope someone can help me figure this out.
    Any help will be gladly appreciated.

Could iTunes be corrupted?  I tried rebooting and that didn't work.
