Cache problem for included stylesheets on remote server
Hi.
We are building an XSL page that includes changing named templates through xsl:includes where the included stylesheet is on a remote server.
The content of the remote stylesheet can change at any time. The problem is that the Oracle XSLT caching mecanism does not "see" this, so we get the old page..
How can we turn the caching off? Is it possible to turn caching off for selected stylesheets?
Any clues or pointers?

Lionel

You need to understand the basics of files, and networks. You can't check if a file exists on another machine if you don't have a network protocol to communicate with. The reason \\ works under windows is because you are using an invisible (to you) network protocol. You probably know it as windows sharing. If your file were not shared under it's own name, that method wouldn't work (I'm assuming your entire drive is shared without a password... a horrible security flaw...but one thing at a time)
You can use FTP protocol to check if a file exists. You can either send the raw text FTP commands through a socket connection in java, or you can use a freely available FTP java API to make it a bit more simple. You could also write a small java server on the other machine, and have it tell you what you need to know with a socket connection. In this way, you have created your very own network protocol.

Getting font problem for printing form in Production server.
Hi experts,
We are getting problem while printing form in production server. As it gives no problem in Quality server while printing the same, the print is fine. We applied packages from 26 to 28 level for version 4.7. When we moved this packages to Production server we got problem of font while printing the form for some of scripts. But the surprise is that in Quality server the print is fine, no problem at all.
Can any one suggest me on this issue.
Regards,
Sagun Desai.Hi sagun,
Please check the spool request generated on production server using tcode SP01.
Goto dispaly spool request and check the spool. If the spool too displays your script correctly then there is a problem in printer connected to production server.
The printer connected to the test server might be rightly conffigured to print the output. Please check the settings of the printer connected to the production.
Hope this helps.

Cache problem for servlet opening new browser window
Requirement:
I have JSP page say summary.jsp with link "print account summary"
When user clicks on this link, new browser open with PDF document of summary.jsp
This new browser window should not have address bar and toolbar.
Solution:
Servlet called PrintSummary which sets contenttype=application/pdf and sends the data to outputstream.
href of link is
Java script function is:
function openWindow(url){
window.open(url,'blank','toolbar=no')
Problem:
Since the URL of this new window is
http:// host:portnumber/PrintSummary
Even if I click the "Print summary" link for account2,
being the same URL (http:// host:portnumber/PrintSummary) it accesses the existing page in the cache which is created for account 1.
In href if I just use servlet url as
I get the expected behaviour but then I don't have control on browser appearance and browser window will be with address bar and toolbar.
The only option I could think of was changing URL as follows:
<% String url ="javascript:openWindow('PrintSummary? var1="+ Math.random()+"')";
So that URL is different all the time
Is there any way to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
M.I'd definitely try to use a Flex popup... but the
flash.net.navigateToURL method is a simple way to open a popup
window in a new browser. You can pass any data needed by the new
page using the URLRequest and/or URLVariables. The URL you navigate
to could, of course, be another Flex application if necessary. I
use this only when I need to open a popup window on another site,
or an HTML formatter report or something similar.
Concerning yourself with the size of the popup window may be
a bad design choice also. I, for example, have my browser
configured to open all popups in a new tab regardless of sizing
constraints imposed by the designer. If it is absolutely necessary
for you to have control over the size of your popup window, you
should follow the advice given by others and use a Flex
popup. -
How to create a file object for a file on Remote Server? UNIX
Hi all,
I am working on two servers A and B. BOTH ARE UNIX MACHINES. My java class exist on server A and executes on same server. The file that I need to process resides on server B. (Lets call it test.txt in MYTEST directory. So path will be /MYTEST/test.txt on server B) I need to do few things before I can process it:
1) Check if file exist
2) If it does FTP it to Server A. (I already know how to.)
For both of these tasks, I need a File object for that file.
My problem is that I am unable to set it up.
\\B\MYTEST\test.txt will not work on UNIX. I already tried that. (It only works on Windows)
I tried:
/B/MYTEST/test.txt ---- Does not work
B:/MYTEST/test.txt ---- Does not work
:B/MYTEST/test.txt ---- Does not work
B:MYTEST/test.txt ---- Does not work
All of these instances say the same thing: "File does not exist."
Any ideas? Please help!!!

Caching problem for iViews with URL parameters
Hi,
We have a big problem with <b>iView caching.</b>
Our objective is to use <b>SAP Netweaver Portal 2004s & External Facing portal </b> for a public Internet Portal
For performances reasons we need to activate iviews caching on the principal iviews. But the problem is that a page called with different parameters generates exactly the same html result
<u>example --> The display of a news item:</u>
/irj/portal/anonymous/index.htm?rid=/news_123.xml
gives the same cached result as
/irj/portal/anonymous/index.htm?rid=/news_456.xml
The caching level is "shared" because all users are anonymous !
The iview caching seems to be occuring on component (iView) level and not on URL level
Can someone help ?
At the moment we have performances of 10 seconds for a page, and with caching it's becoming less than 1 second, so we really need the caching !!!
Thanks
LaurentHello
I hope you get your answer since, nevertheless it could help other.
Have you tried to put the cache level to "session" instead of "user" or "shared" at the iview level?

Portability problem for XSL stylesheet
Hi,
I created a xsl stylesheet and a java program which just do the normal xml transformation. however, they works fine in my windows XP environment, but once i move them to my Red hat (linux) environment, they stop working... why this happening? from the exception error, the problem occurs when the stylesheet is loaded. some friends suggest that i should try to use different xslt processors, but how should i do this in the run time?
(I am currently using Xerces2.6.2 to vaildate xml file and do the transformation)
Thanks for any helpYou should look at the stacktrace from the exception and fix your problem based on what you see there.
Or you could post it here so we don't have to guess... -
Cache coordination for EJB on Oracle application server
I have an enterprise application using Eclipselink that runs on a 2 node clustered OAS instances. I need to set up cache coordination between the two nodes. Can someone please point me to documentation for this setup? I am using v1.2 Eclipselink on 10.1.3.3 OAS.
Thanks.185743,
In order to access an Enterprise JavaBean, you need to "login" to the EJB container. The login name and password are usually supplied via the "SECURITY_PRINCIPAL" and "SECURITY_CREDENTIALS" properties (from the Context interface).
The error message you are getting -- "Connection refused" -- usually indicates that you have supplied the wrong values for at least one of those properties. There are a number of ways to define these properties, and the one that you require depends on the type of client you are using: either a Web client, or a java client.
Since you did not supply the part of your code that is causing the problem, I cannot help you further.
Good Luck,
Avi. -
XSLT Cache problem including remote host stylesheets

The content of the remote stylesheet can change at any time. The problem is that the Oracle XSLT caching mecanism does not "see" this, so we get the old page..
How can we turn the caching off? Is it possible to turn caching off for selected stylesheets?
Any clues or pointers?

Taking old report even new report is uploaded on web - Cache problem?
Hello,
I have a problem. We are using remote server for development work.
We are working on web environment. The modules (forms & reports) will be uploaded to the unix server using web compilation links. Now I haveI uploaded (generate), a report (old) to the server. After some modifications new report is uploaded . When I run the report, it is always taking old one, instead of new.
Time stamp in the server is showing new one is uploaded.
I heard this could be because of cache problem on the server. If some one have faced the same , please let me know the solution for this?
Cheers
Ram KanalaFRM-40738 (repid is coming out null)
Looks like here it is not able to find the report
repid := find_report_object('ETOX_9ITEST');
In Forms builder confirm that you have defined a report by this name for the particular form (adding the report in REPORTS_PATH would not suffice). I think it should also point to corresponding report.
Please post the exact error messages as you see it with the error numbers.
Other comments.
2) Added a TNS_ADMIN in the registry to point to TNSNAMES.ORA in the apps directory. This Tnsnames.ora has an entry for report server name. The report server is up when seen in OEM console. But my report does not launch. <<For 9i you do not need to do this . This alias defining is for 6i. In 9i it is "auto discovery" in the subnet.
You can remove this. (You need Tnsnames.ora for DB aliases, I am talking about reports server...)
3) Same comment as above
8)Verify the Reports 9i Service properties and check the "Log On as" information. Be sure to specify on "This account" the user information with which the installation was made.
For Windows/2000:
- Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Services
- Double click on the Reports Server
- Go to "Log On" tab
- Change on the "Log On As" section to "This account" and enter the userid/password of the
user that installed Reports Server
- Ensure that the user account where the Reports Server is installed has administrator privileges
and a default printer.
- Restart the Reports Server as the new user.
(For WinNT steps will be similar)
---Workaround till your issue is solved is ....
Start report server as a standalone server
rwserver server=server_name
Thanks

If you have anwser, Please mail to [email protected]Well, once you're already using MyEclipse, I have it set up even simpler than that. Go to Window/Preferences/MyEclipse/Application Servers/Tomcat4/Launch and set the launch mode to debug.
This works if the project is successfully setup as a webproject in MyEclipse.
My problem is that I have a project that was not developed with MyEclipse and for some reason does not work when I set it up as a web project in MyEclipse. MyEclipse seem to do something funny with it when I establish the project. Now, if I set it up simply as a java project (as oppposed to Web Project) in myEclipse, then MyEclipse does not give me an option of deploying it.
Any ideas about how I would go about debugging a project that's not set up as a Web Project in my eclipse? -
Connecting to remote server slows down computer
We've been connecting to a remote server for years, and only recently have this problem:
When connected to a remote server, the entire system runs sluggish. This only happens with one remote server -- other connections don't cause this problem. The system is slow even if we are not reading or writing -- just the connection seems to cause the slowdown.
What could be causing this? You need to enable WinRM on your system. Open powershell on the system you want to connect to remotely and enable it by typing:
C:>enable-psremoting -force
WinRM already is set up to receive requests on this machine.
WinRM has been updated for remote management.
Created a WinRM listener on HTTP://* to accept WS-Man requests to any IP on this machine.
This will configure WinRM for you. Check out this technet powershell training session.
