  • WEB u2013 I cache issue.

We have BO XI 3.1 PF 1.7 and SAP BW 7.0 SP 18
We are facing strong caching issue  with WEB- I XI 3.1 , what we observed is it cache previously fetched data and does not recognize data been updated in BW Infoprovider ( in our case we have BEx query on Direct update DSO )
    I have tried u2013
    1.     I made caching inactive for that BEx query in BW side.
    2.     I have check caching setting in BO , they are not helping me much to in active cache in BO
On executing BEx query in BW, I have checked RSRT cash monitor; the query result is not getting cached, and get up-to-date data. Query works perfectly file.
Also observed Events in RSDDSTAT_OLAP table, I could find very well Event 9000. This shows me that BEx query hits database and bring data back.
When I execute BO report on the top of same BEx query, I do not get up to date data , it shows me previously fetched data and does not recognize data been updated in BW.
Now question is where this data being getting cashed , and how to make that inactive to make sure I do get up to date data in WEB-I .
Many thanks for your kind response.

    HI Ashutosh,
This would be stored in the C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Data\servername_6400\storage folder.  Try renaming this folder and then testing again.  If this allows for updated records, then that proves that the Webi Processing Server is getting the cached data from this directory.
There are also a few settings you can try to disable in the Webi Processing Server settings within the CMC:
    Disable cache Sharing (Checked)
    Enable Real-Time Caching (Unchecked)
    Enable Document Cache (Unchecked)
Cache Timeout (1 min) - sets the cache to expire after 1 min.
Try playing with these settings and see if that resolves the issue.
    Thanks

  • WEB Proxy issue after Mountain Lion Update

I had MAC OS X 10.6.8 on  my Mac mini before I updated it with MAC OS X 10.8. To connect to Internet we have some proxy setting in our company for which secure web proxy server is mentioned for web proxy and secure web proxy options in advanced setting of network preferences. Now after update I can only access safari web browser. For other browsers like Chrome and Firefox popup asking for authentication keep on popping up even after entering correct details. It's become quite irritating not to be able to surf on chrome. Please tell me how to solve it.

Hi no real idea on this, but many Network connectivity issues have been solved by this...
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK.
    Also, turn off IPv6:
    System Preferences » Network » AirPort » TCP/IP tab » Configure IPv6
    Or whatever Interface you use.

  • IPlanet Web Proxy Server 3.6 and emptying out the cache.

    Hello.
I'm wanting to empty out our proxy server's cache in an attempt to resolve one of our users help desk problems - a web site they are accessing is not loading correctly when going through the proxy server, bypassing the proxy server works.
The problem is that the technician who implemented our iPlanet Web Proxy Server 3.6 has left the company and no one else is aware of how to do this. Can anyone advise of what has to be done to achieve it? Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    Jimmey.

    Hi
This as per the HTTP/1.1 RFC (RFC2616)
The Connection general-header field allows the sender to specify options that are desired for that particular connection and MUST NOT be communicated by proxies over further connections.
The Connection header has the following grammar:
    Connection = "Connection" ":" 1#(connection-token)
    connection-token = token
HTTP/1.1 proxies MUST parse the Connection header field before a message is forwarded and, for each connection-token in this field, remove any header field(s) from the message with the same name as the connection-token. Connection options are signaled by the presence of a connection-token in the Connection header field, not by any corresponding additional header field(s), since the additional header field may not be sent if there are no parameters associated with that connection option.

First of all, is there a reason why you are using jRockit?
Since the issue appeared after upgrading the windows, the issue would potentially be in the interaction between JVM and OS.
Also, there were some issues related to memory leak that were fixed in AS 8.2.
May be you should try with a Sun JVM and AS 8.2.

  • Validating XML offline: is a web-proxy and cache the solution?

Is implementing a web-proxy and cache, the solution to offline XML validation?
Our application uses XML to store data (local, and remote: it's up to user), but needs to work even when offline. This is a problem for the validated XML, since it's DTD may be located on a remote server. To complicate things, we would like to allow others to extend our application with data-formats (DTD's) of their own.
At the moment, the DTD is stored in the applications jar file, but this is going to be a problem. In the data files, the URL for it's DTD includes the jar file's system dependant path name. If data files are moved to a different system (where paths are different) this will no longer work. As you can guess, simply using relative URL's (using the data file or the even the Application jar as Base URL) will also cause problems.
Before concerning ourselves with offline editing, we ran into the problem of firewalls. This we could circumvent by setting Java's global HTTP proxy (thanks to http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javatips/jw-javatip42.html for the tip)
      if (userNeedsProxy) {
        System.getProperties().put ("proxySet", "true");
        System.getProperties().put ("proxyHost", userProxyHost);
        System.getProperties().put ("proxyPort", userProxyPort);
}Which appears to affect all URL.getStream() calls for http URL's, so works fine.
To get around the offline problem, I'm thinking of implementing my application as a 'proxy', and caching any downloaded DTDs locally. This cache could be seeded with our apps default DTD, and any extensions can take advantage of this as well. This solution has the benifit of not modifying the basic XML parsing routines or doing something undesirable, like just turning off validation (suggested on other forum threads). Would this involve creating a custom URLConnection object and or URLStreamHandler?
Any suggestions or comments are welcome, as I haven't started this, and I'm pretty sure it has been solved before. Does this sound feasable, or insane? :) Any experience shared is very appriciated!
    Thanks in advance

  • SQUID Proxy cache issue in front of Oracle webcache & Oracle Portal 10g

We are having issue with our site designed on oracle portal front ended by webcache and squid proxy. Current our squid proxy is configure to cache site data which is causing the problem.
The problem is, we have website in multiple language (china english and china chinese), when you navigate the site in both the languages and once the navigation pages are cached in our squid proxy cache, the users see the cached data from the proxy cache(ie. they will see china chinese when navigating china english site and vice versa). Following are my questions?
    1. I was wondering anyone of you had similar issues and what did you do to resolve it?
    2. What proxy were you using, name, version etc would be helpful?
    3. Did you have similar issues with Other proxys out there? besides squid? what was the fix?
    Your response is appreciated.
    Thanks,

Did you manage to find a solution to this problem. I'm having the same issue and can't find a solution.

  • Basic Authentication SSO, Web proxy, Rewriter issue

    I have iPS 3.0 SP4.
I have configured the Gateway to do single signon for HTTP Basic Authentication. My external application also requires a web proxy to connect, so I added the proxy to the "DNS Domain and Subdomains" list. My "Rewrite all URLs Enabled" is not checked.
I added a link to the external application in the Bookmark channel. When I click on the link, a new browser window is launched, SSO happened (verified from iwtGateway log), but the contents kept going back to the Portal Desktop instead of the external aplication.
I found out that the external application is using the URL location information of the browser to extract the protocol, host and port info to construct the target page using JavaScript. By the Gateway rewriting the URL, the JavaScript is incorrectly using the Gateway host and port, instead of the application host and port.
How do I setup the Gateway to do Basic Auth SSO, use a web proxy to fetch the content, but do NOT do URL rewriting? Our users have access to the application directly, so we do not need to run the app behind the Gateway. But I need to use the Gateway to to the SSO. Also, since the "DNS Domain and Subdomains" list is used for both proxy definition and rewriting, how do I make them mutually exclusive - i.e. want to use web proxy but do not want rewriting?
Can you also suggest other ways of doing Basic Authentication SSO without using the Gateway? I have seen some discussions on using the Authenticator class and a separate Servlet. Please post me an example.
    Thanks.

Yes, I have already tried the option you suggested. I had previously created a JSP channel that has a link invoking my servlet. This servlet, reads the user profile from an external LDAP and sends the Authorization header on a URLConnection object, just like you described it.
However, I cannot just simply render the returned content on the InputStream of the URLConnection. The browser/client is actually connected to the servlet - so presenting the images and links directly will be relative to the servlet machine, not the external app. So the images and links do not work.
If I do a request.sendRedirect(...), the external application will ask for the auth header again. The browser has not captured the auth header that was sent earlier by the servlet.
How do you tell the browser to keep the auth header for all subsequent request? Is the Gateway SSO approach telling the browser to keep sending the auth header, or is the Gateway programmatically adding the auth header for each request?

  • Why doesn't Sun ONE Web Proxy Server support full replication?

Sun believes caching on-demand is a much more appropriate model for either the World Wide Web or an intranet. Common indexes should be distributed, but data can (and should) be stored wherever is most appropriate on the network. If Proxy Servers are deployed, there will be a 50 percent to 75 percent chance that the document will be cached locally and no chance of getting stale data.
Sun ONE Web Proxy Server uses sophisticated statistical analysis to store the documents most likely to be needed. It also manages document expiry and version control, and by default checks the home server every time a document is requested. Full replication like that performed by other softwares presumes that each document needs to be fully replicated on every server. (Imagine doing that on the Web!) This model limits the scalability of the infrastructure, and requires many more servers, more hardware, and more management complexity. More importantly, it increases the likelihood of getting stale data. A document checked in at one location may take a day or more to be fully replicated around the world.

If you have a support contract, get in touch with a support engineer. We've run into a bug related to following referrals in the "off-the-shelf" version of the proxy server. I believe there is a hotfix that solves the issue.

  • Bug Report: JSSE 1.0.2 & iPlanet-Web-Proxy-Server/3.6

When tunneling through iPlanet-Web-Proxy-Server/3.6 we get a "Socket Closed" exception during the handshake (right after overlaying the tunnel). I got this problem with HP-UX. My browser works fine with that proxy so the problem isn't the proxy. And my code works fine with every other proxies. This proxy does return HTTP 1.0 so this well known issue isn't related.
Anyone from Sun can confirm this issue ?
Anyone else got this bug ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Franois

    Hi all,
When you say tunnelling, are you referring to code similiar to the code in JavaWorld Tip 111?
I am currently trying to debug some issues with that code myself. I get similiar errors when tunnelling through a proxy.
The download works correctly when a HttpsURLConnection is used to connect directly to the same site.
I am using a squid-cache as my test proxy, so I am not sure if the proxy is the problem. (assuming we are talking about the same issue)
I have noticed that a V3 site certificate seems to be more likely to fail though. I have not found a site using a V1 certificate where the tunnelling has failed.
We are also discussing what I think is the same issue in the thread "HTTPS tunneling and V3 certificates".
I have been trying to get this stuff working for a few months now.

  • Web Proxy Server 4.0.6 released

Web Proxy Server 4.0.6 has been released and is available for download.
    http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=4701e042
All users of Web Proxy Server 4.0.x are encouraged to update.

We have migrated several reverse and acl proxy from 3.6 to 4.0.6 and have hit a few issues. If anyone has encountered these we would appriate input.
First, we thought we had caching disabled in the GUI but the server.xml still have it set to "true" in the FILECAHE entry. Will changing the entry to "false" totally disable chaching?
When we started the migrated proxy instances the server hit memory issues with swap being eaten up very quickly.
Second issue is MaxProcs in the magnus.conf. In 3.6 MaxProcs set the number of processes to start and it now for determening the number of processors in the server for threading. We are currently on a server with 6 processors. Should MaxProcs be set to six?
We will be migrating to Solaris 10 and then to a T2000 so we assume the setting will have to change for each of those migigrations.
The third issue is, has anyone run 3.6 on Solaris 10 and then migrated to 4.0 later? Sun site shows 3.6 not tested on Solaris 10 but I am sure some one has tried it.
