Calculating Average on a Pivot table- Not calculating correct

Hello All BI Techie's,
I have a requirrement, which is calculating the average out of a column , this column is aggreated by sum in the rpd.
Month Year      Associate Headcount      Involuntary Termination Count (Associates)
2012 / 07      18878.0      55
2012 / 08      18817.0      53
2012 / 09      18770.0      63
Grand Total      18770.0      17
Now, I want calculate a column which gives the average of Associate Headcount, ( 18878+18817+18770)/3 , how I can achieve that?
I tried, using avg(associate headcount), it not returning correct average, any insight?
Please share your ideas.
Thanks,
Bala

Thanks Srini, The tried your solution but still the problem exists.
I have created a new column, called Avg Headcount and entered condition in the column, I am using pivot table.
max(rsum("Workforce Profile Facts"."Associate Headcount"))/max(rsum(1))
Actual Results
Month Year      Associate Headcount      Involuntary Termination Count (Associates)      Avg Headcount
2012 / 07      18878.0      55      18907.8
2012 / 08      18817.0      53      18878.0
Grand Total      18817.0      108      18878.0
Expected results
Month Year      Associate Headcount      Involuntary Termination Count (Associates)      Avg Headcount
2012 / 07      18878.0      55      18878
2012 / 08      18817.0      53      18817
Grand Total      37695.0      108      37695/2 = 18847.5
Eeven my Associate Headcount, pivots grand total was wrong, my instanceconfig.xml already setted to aggregate enabled.

  • Pivot table not rendered correctly in Internet Explorer

    Hi
We have used Pivot table in the fusion development. The pivot table renderes properly in FireFox, but rendering in IE it gets distored. Is there any know issue with IE, Please me know ?
    TIA
    Anand

Are you sure the problem is the size of the icons? Beginning with version 6.0.2900.2190, Microsoft Internet Explorer stopped displaying the Web Server /mc-icons GIFs. This regression was apparently a side effect of Microsoft's attempts to fix IE's handling of malicious image files.
Apart from not using the buggy versions of IE, I'm not aware of a simple fix. I suspect a future Web Server 6.1 service pack will include a work around for the IE bug, but probably not until 6.1SP7.
I've added tweaked icons to my blog at http://blogs.sun.com/elving?entry=directory_listing_icons_and_ie that IE will display properly. You may wish to copy these into your ns-icons directory.

  • Calculating an average in a Pivot Table column

    Hello everyone,
    I have a Pivot Table..
    One Measure only
    In Rows:
I have 3 fields: FieldA, FieldB, FieldC
    In Columns:
    I have 1 field: Field D
From field D, I have created 5 calculated items (to single out the column values) and a Total calculated item column to sum the 5 calculated items.
I have also enabled the Column Grand Total.
Now, I want to create another calculated item (I think?) to calculated the (Total calculated item column) / (Column Grand Total)
I tried creating a calculated item by doing the following (Total calculated item column) / sum(*), but this does not output anything.

  • Pivot table not displaying the values correctly

    Hi,
I have created a pivot table in which i am using 2 tables. I pulled columns from table A and one column from table B in the measures section to get the grand total. All the rows are comming fine but, its not returning any values for tableB's column(if i pull it into measures).
If the column stays under rows section, the report is comming out fine.
I need the total to be displayed in the report.
Can some body help me with this.
    Thanks

    Hi David,
i have set the column's aggregation to sum, and it is comming out correctly in the grand total, how ever, i have some of the coulmns which i am taking the %
    col3= (col2/col1)*100
col1- aggregation set as Sum, col2 and col3 is set as default
The values for col3 are comming finr in report , where as it is not returning correct value for garnd total row.
    ex: row w--- col1 col2 col3
    row1-----6630 1130 17.04
    row2 6114 994 16.26
    total 23317 3739 56.40(should be 16.2..)
For col3 it is calculating like this(3739-total of col2/ 6630 -first row of col1 *100)
Instead of taking total , it is taking the first row.
I tried different aggregations, but was still unable to get the correct value. Can you please let me know if i am missing anything.
    Can we define custom aggregations.
    Thanks
    Gayatri

  • Excel Pivot Table not working Office 2013 click to run

    Hi
I have a user who is having an issue with Excel pivot tables.
Issue occurs when opening an old excel-file (created with Office 2007) and then saving it with another name (Save As).
When opened the next time, system gives attached error message when trying to update Pivot with "Alt + F5" command.
--> For some reason it wants to find something from that old excel file + Pivot is not updated.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Dan Smith

Thank you George for your reply. The user tried the Analyze-->Change Data Source and this is what was found:
The original file name was ”Kaiken_syyskuu2014_2.xlsx”. (see the pic below)
When I have saved it as “Kaken_marraskuu2014”, it seems that all the pivots are still linked to “Kaiken_syyskuu2014_2”??
In earlier Office version this did not happen.
This excel file must be updated on monthly basis. There is tens of different pivots, so It would be quite nightmare to update the names for every Data Source one by one, every month (actually it is not possible to type name for the data
source, ranges/tables have to be selected manually).
These pivots are not re-created every month. Only the data source gets updated by pressing (Alt + F5)
This problems is solved if the pivot table data source gets updated also (=source is same than new file name) when you give new name for the file (=Save as).
I don’t see the point why pivots are still linked to old file, if you have already gave new file name for the entire excel-file.
    I hope you can help.
    Thanks
    Br.
    Dan

  • Average of two pivot table columns in a 3rd pivot column??

Is there a way to calculate the average (sum of C2/Sum of C1) and have it show in C3 of a pivot table?

If I create narrative view it will be another view. And if I put that in between that two pivot view, it will show the space. I need to remove space between two pivot table within a single report so that it can appear as a single pivot view.
    Thanks

  • Computed Items in Pivot table not working...

    One urgent help please….
We have a pivot table where we have a measure label: Period name, & the measure is COST..
The P-table shows Cost for selected (Prior & Current period) (we have 2 presentation variables for the same curr & prior).
We need to have a computed ITEM in the Pivot which will be DELTA, Cost for Current Period – Cost for Prior Periods & should be shown on the same row.
I tried adding a Computed ITEM in the measure label but I am unable to give the formula.
    ‘@{curr}’ - ‘@{prior}’
but this doesn’t work as its not shown on the display…
Please try giving me some hint….
    Thanks,
    Pankaj

    Hi,
Remember that NULL + x is NULL.
Use NVL (or COALESCE) to treat missing values as 0 when adding them. Do something like this in the main query:
    select  a.*
    ,      NVL (still_contacting, 0)
          + NVL (dud,            0)
          + NVL (no_curr_opp,      0)
          + NVL (cb_later_dt,      0)
          + NVL (meeting_booked,   0)
          + NVL (opp_in_eom,       0)
          + NVL (other,            0)
+ NVL (tbd,            0)     AS total

  • Chart in pivot table not shows computed data

    in the example above,
"market" is put on the "rows"
"brand" is put on the "columns"
"value" is put on the "measures", and set "Show Data As -> Percent Of -> Row" for measure "value"
the table of the pivot table shows correct computed data
but why does not the chart show by computed data (percentage)????
is there any setting to show in term of percentage.
or any alternatives to achieve the goal (show in term of percentage) ????????????
    thank you very much!!!

When you chart pivoted results, what type of chart are you using? You may not be able to display marketwise % in a bar chart. You may want to try out the pie chart where you can display marketwise % values.

Try this without the border images and it will work in all browsers with increased text size. That's assuming eBay supports embedded CSS styles (which I'm not convinced they do).  Inline styles are safer IMHO.

  • Item text in table not printing correctly

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to display Purchase Order Line Item Text in one of the column in a table. I used table to do this, but it is not working correctly, when there is more data (more than one page) in long text.
    Columns using in the table
EBELP MATNR LONG TEXT QTY CURRENCY PRICE Delivery Date
Then, I used Subforms to achieve this, but i have a problem using this also. If the long text overflows then other fields after the long text are printing on the last page.
EBELP MATNR LONG TEXT               - First Page
LONG TEXT QTY CURRENCY PRICE DELIVERY DATE - last page.
But, i am looking for a pattern to print
EBELP MATNR LONG TEXT QTY CURRENCY PRICE DELIVERY DATE
                                       IF IT OVERFLOWS
ONLY LONG TEXT ON NEXT LINES.
Please suggest me how to do this.
    Thanks,
    Kumar

  • Table not returning correct information

We had a problem where doing a select count(*) returned a number, but then when a select * was issued not rows were returned. Many iterations were tried. Some returning rows and others not. Then when trying to truncate FK errors occurred. Does anyone know what might have been the problem? Our solution was to drop and re-create the tables. This was in a test environment, but we don't want this to happen in production.
    Thanks.

Something doesn't sound right to me. I haven't seen this happen in our Oracle databases but have seen this happen with a DB2 database
when an index was corrupt. The solution was to rebuild the index in that case. I'd issue a statement to validate the structure of the table
    and its indexes:
    analyze table table_name validate structure cascade;
    From the 8.1.7 SQL manual:
    VALIDATE STRUCTURE
Specify VALIDATE STRUCTURE to validate the structure of the analyzed object. The statistics collected by this clause are not used by the Oracle optimizer, as are
statistics collected by the COMPUTE STATISTICS and ESTIMATE STATISTICS clauses.
For a table, Oracle verifies the integrity of each of the table's data blocks and rows.
For a cluster, Oracle automatically validates the structure of the cluster's tables.
For a partitioned table, Oracle also verifies that each row belongs to the correct partition. If a row does not collate correctly, its rowid is inserted into the
    INVALID_ROWS table.
For a temporary table, Oracle validates the structure of the table and its indexes during the current session.
For an index, Oracle verifies the integrity of each data block in the index and checks for block corruption. This clause does not confirm that each row in the table
has an index entry or that each index entry points to a row in the table. You can perform these operations by validating the structure of the table with the
    CASCADE clause (described below).
Oracle stores statistics about the index in the data dictionary views INDEX_STATS and INDEX_HISTOGRAM.
See Also: Oracle8i Reference for information on these views
Validating the structure of an object prevents SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE statements from concurrently accessing the object. Therefore, do not use this
clause on the tables, clusters, and indexes of your production applications during periods of high database activity.
If Oracle encounters corruption in the structure of the object, an error message is returned to you. In this case, drop and re-create the object.
    INTO table
Specify a table into which Oracle lists the rowids of the partitions whose rows do not collate correctly. If you omit schema, Oracle assumes the list is in
your own schema. If you omit this clause altogether, Oracle assumes that the table is named INVALID_ROWS. The SQL script used to create this table
    is UTLVALID.SQL.
    CASCADE
Specify CASCADE if you want Oracle to validate the structure of the indexes associated with the table or cluster. If you use this clause when validating a
table, Oracle also validates the table's indexes. If you use this clause when validating a cluster, Oracle also validates all the clustered tables' indexes,
    including the cluster index.
If you use this clause to validate an enabled (but previously disabled) function-based index, validation errors may result. In this case, you must rebuild the
    index.

  • I have a problem with a table not resizing correctly in some browsers

    Hi,
I am using the fluid grid layout in DW. I have created a table to hold some images and text. I have the table set to 100% instead of a fixed width.
The table and images resize correctly at my smartphone breakpoint in DW and Crome. They do not resize correctly in IE10 or Firefox.
I hope somebody can point out the error of my ways.
    Thanks
    http://cupcakemary.skeeterz71.com/_cm_mockup/menu.html

Tables do not work well in Fluid Grid Layouts because table width is always going to be determined by combined width of the content inside it.  As such it won't re-scale past a certain point no matter what you do. I typically avoid using tables for layouts anyway.  But especially in FluidGrids.
If you build your FluidGrid layout correctly from the start, there's little reason to use tables.
    LayoutDiv 1                 LayoutDiv 2                      LayoutDiv 3
      float:left                        float:left                            float:left
On smaller displays, these divs will naturally stack vertically.

    LayoutDiv2
    LayoutDiv 3

  • Tables not rendering correctly in Firefox

I recently switched from Dreamweaver 8 to CS4. I also
recently updated my Firefox to 3.06. I have had this website for
years, and it just started not rendering tables correctly in

Let me say up front, I know the page is antiquated (created

to be updating it soon, but for now I need a fix to get the pages
    to work correctly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to everybody's nightmare . IE, FF & Safari can vary on how they handle margins, position, padding, overflow and such. I have ended up modifying CSS classes as well as the attributes of divs, frames and such based on active browser. I would look for a couple of books that talk about this and try their suggestions. Be ready for lots of trial and error . You fix one thing and something else goes out of whack. Sigh.

I don't know for sure, but I imagine that your CellEditor and CellRenderer return the table when they should probably return the JScrollPane that contains the table. I suppose I should be more worried seeing as the fate of the world depends on this very problem. You know the president called me just the other day asking the same thing. I realize that we might run out of clean air or water if this is not solved, but I got some other things to do right now...
