Calculation in Time field

Need to calculate values of A & B
Formula ->
A = Round down [A_TIME - A_STD]
B = Round up [A_TIME) - 10 minute + A_STD]
where
A_TIME     VARCHAR2(8)     N     Time           (Format“ HH:MM AM/PM”)      eg “3:50 PM”
A_STD     VARCHAR2(5)     N     Standard time      (Format“ HH:MM”)      eg “1:00”
Allowed values for A & B after round up/down = multiple of 10 ( 11:00,11:10,11:20 etc.)

Hi,
Welcome to the forum!
Whenever you have a question, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT startements) and the results you want from that data.
Since this is your first messsage, I'll do it for you.
The sample data might be:
CREATE TABLE  table_x
(      a_time VARCHAR2 (8)
,      a_std  VARCHAR2 (5)
INSERT INTO table_x (a_time, a_std) VALUES ('3:50 PM', '1:00');
INSERT INTO table_x (a_time, a_std) VALUES ('3:50 AM', '-1:00');
INSERT INTO table_x (a_time, a_std) VALUES ('11:59 PM', '15');and the results you want from that data might be:
A_TIME   A_STD A        A
3:50 PM  1:00  02:50 PM 04:40 PM
3:50 AM  -1:00 04:50 AM 02:40 AM
11:59 PM 15    11:40 PM 12:10 AMOne way to get those results from that data (in Oracle 9 or higher) is:
WITH    got_nums     AS
     SELECT     a_time
     ,     a_std
     ,     24 * 60 * ( TO_DATE (a_time, 'HH:MI AM')
                      - TO_DATE ('01',   'DD')
                 )               AS t_minutes
     ,     (60 * NVL ( TO_NUMBER ( REGEXP_SUBSTR ( a_std
                                                  , '[-+]?[0-9]+:'
                          , '999D'
                                , 'NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = '' :'''
                 , 0
          ) + NVL ( TO_NUMBER ( REGEXP_SUBSTR ( a_std
                                                  , '[0-9]+$'
               , 0
               )               AS s_minutes
     FROM    table_x
SELECT       a_time
,       a_std
,       TO_CHAR ( TRUNC (SYSDATE) + ( TRUNC ( t_minutes - s_minutes
                                             , -1
                          / 24
                          / 60
            , 'HH:MI AM'
            )          AS a
,       TO_CHAR ( TRUNC (SYSDATE) + ( ( ROUND ( t_minutes + s_minutes - 5.01
                                                  , -1
                          / 24
                          / 60
            , 'HH:MI AM'
            )          AS a
FROM       got_nums
;This would probably be a lot simpler if you used different data types, perhaps a DATE or INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND for a_time, and either INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND or NUMBER for a_std. Explain what you're using these columns for. Are there other ways in which you need to manipulate these values?
Always say what version of Oracle you're using.

  • Adding Date/Time Field + X Number of Days - Basic Calculation Question

    I am assuming this is a basic calculation question. New to Adobe LiveCycle Forms.
    I have a simple form containing a table. The table appears as such:
    Text
    Formatted as Date/Time Fields
    Header 3
    Monday
    user wil choose the beginning date (Date/Time) this is DateTimeField1
    Tuesday
    this should calculate DateTimeField1 + 1
    Wednesday
    this should calculate DateTimeField1 + 2
    Thursday
    this should calculate DateTimeField1 + 3
    Friday
    this should calculate DateTimeField1 + 4
    Saturday
    this should calculate DateTimeField1 + 5
    Sunday
    this should calculate DateTimeField1 + 6
    Calculations are performed after the date is chosen for Monday. My mind tells me the simple calculation of DateTimeField1 + 1 is not going to work (and in fact doesn't!) as it needs to change Monday to a number first. I saw on another thread the following:
    Num2Date(Date2Num(Date(DateTimeField1), "DD.MM.YYYY")+7, "DD.MM.YYYY")
    Thought this was going to get me close. No cigars though!
    Any quick help is greatly appreciated. And since I am new to this, details about what needs to be changed would be great too!
    Thanks

    Here an addition for you date field.
    This FormCalc script in the exit:Event will check it the selected date is on a monday.
    If not it will go the days back until the last monday.
    var Selection = Date2Num($.formattedValue, DateFmt(2))
    var WeekDay = Num2Date(Selection, "E")
    var NewDate
    if (WeekDay eq 1) then
              NewDate = Selection - 6
    elseif (WeekDay eq 3) then
              NewDate = Selection - 1
    elseif (WeekDay eq 4) then
              NewDate = Selection - 2
    elseif (WeekDay eq 5) then
              NewDate = Selection - 3
    elseif (WeekDay eq 6) then
              NewDate = Selection - 4
    elseif (WeekDay eq 7) then
              NewDate = Selection - 5
    else
              NewDate = Selection
    endif
    $ = Num2Date(NewDate, "EEE DD.MM.YYYY")
    Hope this helps, too.

  • I want to do calculation between date/time fields

    Hi, I already post this question a couple of times but I can't make it work.
    IST:I  have converted a date/time field to a field so i can make calculation on it but i don't know ho to convert it to minuts;seconds.
    Starttime        - Endtime           - Convert begin - Convertend - convertsumbegin - convertsumend - difference between31-7 12:39:00 - 31-07 13:08:00   - 123900    -    010800 - 123.900 - 10.800 -  -113.100
    SOLL
    Start time - Endtime - Differencebetween12:39 - 13:08 - 0:29
    If i make this calculation in Excel it's very simple and works perfect. I want this in my Webintelligence report but don't know which functions/script i need to have. Thanks;

    fmonsma:
    Based on the sample data that you provide, it appears that you want to be able to report data based on the number of minutes that have elapsed between "Starttime" and "Endtime".  Looking at the WebI Variable Editor functions in the "Date & Time" functions list, it does not appear that there are any capability to determine elapsed minutes (it appears that the only "time" of the "Date & Time" functions is the "CurrentTime" function, not much else in regards to time...)
    You don't mention the database platform you are using, however, if you happen to be using MS SQL Server, then they have the DATEDIFF function.  Within DATEDIFF the parameters are: DATEDIFF ( datepart , startdate , enddate ), where datepart specificies any of the following facts:  Year, quarter, Month, dayofyear, Day, Week, Hour, minute, second, millisecond
    Bottom line, you will most likely not be able to rely on WebI to determine the elapsed seconds and you'll have to set up an object within your Universe to do the work on the database server and bring it across to your reports that way.

  • Functions in Calculation and Summary Fields

    Hi,
    I'll give a bit of background to my situation before describing the advice I'm looking for here.
    I am experienced Mac user and I have used AW a fair bit in the past, but since I've been working in a job which has Windows machines and uses a complex custom-written relational database for its main tool, I use it less often than I did, so I am a little rusty. It is the shortcomings of the complex relational database (which I do not have admin rights to) that has led me back to AW and its database module.
    Essentially, I am a complaints investigator, and the relational database provided by my employer is used to keep track of correspondence and various metadata associated with the investigation of the complaint. However, although it is called a Complaints Management System (CMS), it does not help me manage my caseload very well. I've previously tried to create an Excel spreadsheet that would help me manage my work, but it is not a database (or I am not sufficiently skilled with Excel) and I cannot get it to provide me with what I want.
    So, my problems.
    I have complaints (cases) assigned to me to investigate. These cases have differing priorities, which means differing time limits for completion of the investigation. The priorities and time limits are set out below:
    J (jurisdictional issues) - time limit = 1 month
    D (discretion not to investigate) - time limit = 3 months
    1 - time limit = 4 months
    2 - time limit = 6 months
    3 - time limit = 12 months
    The priority field in my AW DB is currently a 'pop-up menu' field, but I could change this to another type if this would be advisable.
    I have a date-type field in which I enter the date the complaint was received. I have an calculation-type field in which I calculate the age of the complaint using the function:
    =(NOW()-'DateReceived')
    This returns an age in days, which I input into a separate calculation field that divides the result of 'age in days' by 30, to give a rough approximation of the number of months old the complaint is (If AW has an equivalent to Excel's 'workdays' variable, I'd love to hear about it). This latter field is the one that I display in the main data entry view of the database.
    Given the priority assigned to the complaint, and the age of it, I am either 'On Target' or 'Over Target' for completing the investigation.
    Each month I have a meeting with my manager to review progress, and since the reports that can be extracted from the CMS are not very useful for this purpose, I want my AW database to help me generate reports that can form the basis of discussion in these meetings.
    Part A of My Query
    At present, I have a manually operated field, in the form of a pop-up menu, to indicate for each record (complaint) whether I am over or on target for completion of the investigation. I would like to make this a calculated field, so that the database keeps track of this for me automatically. Unfortunately, I'm either too dense, or not good enough with the syntax of AW functions, to be able to write a function which essentially does the following:
    IF 'Priority'=1 AND 'Age in Months'<4 THEN 'On Target' ELSE 'Over Target'
    - and then repeats that for the other priority possibilities.  It seems likely that the 'IF' function is what I'm after, but I haven't been able to get the syntax right to combine 'Priority' and 'Age in Months' in the format spelt out in the AW help, which is:
    =IF(logical,true value,false value)
    Getting the syntax of one part of this function right would be a good start. However, I suspect that I have a larger problem, in that I have 5 priorities to measure against and I need the overall calculation (that produces the 'On Target' or 'Over Target' results) to report in one result field. This means nesting the functions that look at the 5 priorities and 5 age limits. I've tried and failed to get the syntax of such nesting right, so advice on this is doubly welcome.
    Unfortunately, I have a sneaking suspicion that unless the answer is much more concise than I imagine it to be, there will be an additional problem: AW appears to have a character limit for the length of a function string in a calculation field which may be too short for my needs.  If you think this is an issue but that it can be solved through the use of intermediate fields (which don't need to be displayed in the main 'data entry' layout), I'm happy to give that a shot.
    Part B of my Query
    Even if the problem above cannot be solved, and I have to manually enter whether a complaint is 'On Target' or 'Over Target', I have a separate but related question for the reports I have to present to my manager.
    On these reports, I would like to have a summary at the top of the first page (in a grand-summary part, I assume) which gives a count of how many complaints are 'On Target' or 'Over Target' for each priority. Below that is a sub-summary part, ordered by the type of action that must next be taken in the investigation. (Getting that right may be a subject of a separate post at a later date.) The report must, of course, only report on those complaints that are still being investigated ('open complaints') and not those which have been completed ('closed complaints'). So, I need a function in a summary field which will present an accurate count of the number of open complaints that are 'on target' for priority J (with separate summary fields that do the same thing for priorities D, 1, 2, and 3), and a separate set of summary fields that will present a count of open complaints that are 'over target' for each type of priority.
    It might look a bit like this table below, with figures from the summary fields populating the cells in the third row:
    Priority
    J
    D
    1
    2
    3
    In / Out of Target
    In
    Out
    In
    Out
    In
    Out
    In
    Out
    In
    Out
    Number of Complaints
    My guess is that it is easier to have the summary field simply count all the complaints that are on or over target for a given priority, regardless of whether they are open or closed, since the report could be based on a saved search (match) which strips out all closed complaints. But if I'm off-beam with that idea, I'm happy to have another way of cracking this nut.
    Many thanks in advance to any Community members that take the time to try and help me with this.
    Andrew
    PS Cross posted in AWUG forum too, if people prefer to answer there.

    Hi Andrew,
    Part A:
    I've done some restating of the question, and distributed the calculations among several fields, not all of which need to be included on the visible layout. Other than formatting the Date fields and moving the 'Completed Date' field and its label, I've left this in the default "Layout 1" produced by AppleWorks.
    Field List:
    Priority: Popup menu with six items: 00, J, D, 1, 2, 3  Defaults to 00
    TL (time limit in months): Calculation:  CHOOSE('Priority',0,1,3,4,6,12)
    Received: Date. Option: Automatically insert today's date (ie. Date Record created) (may be edited)
    Target Date: Calculation:
    DATE(YEAR('Received')+INT(MONTH('Received')+'TL')/12,MOD(MONTH('Received')+'TL', 12),DAY('Received'))
    Remaining (Days): Calculation: INT('Target Date'+1-NOW())  (see revision below)
    Completed: Checkbox. Set default value to Unchecked.
    Completed Date: Date: Entered manually
    OnTarget: Calculation: IF('Completed',IF('Completed Date'<'Target Date',"On Target","Over"),IF(INT(NOW())>'Target Date',"Over","On Target"))
    The On Target field shows the current status of the case while still open, and the state on the closing date when it was closed.
    Having done that, I was unhappy with the Remaining field continuing to calculate an ever larger negative number after the case had been closed. Hence this revision below:
    Remaining: Calculation: IF('Completed','Target Date'-'Completed Date',INT('Target Date'+1-NOW()))
    Shows the number of days remaining while the case is open, the days remaining at completion if the case has been marked Completed and the completion date entered.
    Rsults (and some further formatting of the Layout) below.
    Part B:
    You will need Subsummary parts when sorted on Completed and on On Target. Fields can appear on  a Layout only once, so each subsummary part will need a separate Summary type field for each field to be summarized.

    Barry

  • Problem with Date/Time field in Adobe LiveCycle

    I am trying to create a form that has a check-in and check-out dates. I want the user to enter those dates and then have the form automatically compute how many nights the user intends on staying.
    I have two fields, CHECKIN and CHECKOUT, set up as text fields. My third field, NIGHTS, has the following script to do the calculation:
    var strStart = CHECKIN.rawValue
    var strEnd = CHECKOUT.rawValue
    if(strStart.length && strEnd.length)
    var dateStart = util.scand("mmm d, yyyy",strStart);
    var dateEnd = util.scand("mmm d, yyyy",strEnd);
    var diff = dateEnd.getTime() - dateStart.getTime();
    var oneDay = 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000;
    var days = Math.floor(diff/oneDay);
    this.rawValue = days;
    else
    this.rawValue = 0;
    NOW...this is fine if the user inputs a four-digit year. If not, it's trouble. SO, what I want to do is change the CHECKIN and CHECKOUT fields to the date/time field so they select the date off the pop-up calendar.
    When I make the changes, I can't get the script to work for the NIGHTS field.
    CAN ANYONE HELP THIS NEWBIE?

    Make sure the format of the date strings provided by the calendar is what you are expecting. Or use the "formattedValue" for the input strings.

  • Automatically displaying date and time in a date/time field on form initialize

    Good day all;
    I am trying to have the current date and time automatically be generated in a “date/time” field when the form is opened.
    I went through the forum and found an entry from Srini “ xfa.host.messageBox("" + Date());” . Of course this brought up a system message box with the date and time.
    I then tried “DateTimeField1.rawValue = (“”+date())… This also gave me a system message box with the date and time…
    Please let me know where I am going wrong
    Chomp

    Found the answer... And yes... in was in the "help" section... What can I say I was making it a lot more crazy than I needed to.
    You can use a date/time field to automatically show the current date by using the Runtime Property option in the Value tab of the Object palette.
    When using a current date field, the date updates to reflect the system’s current date each time a user opens the form.
    1.
    In the Library palette, click the Standard category and drag a Date/Time Field object onto the form design.
    2.
    In the Object palette, click the Value tab and select Calculated - Read Only from the Type list.
    3.
    Select the Runtime Property option.
    4.
    View the form in the Preview PDF tab.

  • Merging seperate date and time fields into a unique text field.

    I have a dropdown Calendar Date field and a dropdown Time Field in a form and I want to create an additional Text Field that displays the combination of these two fields as a unique form field that would look like this...
    Arrival Date: 1/27/2009 Arrival Time: 11:30 AM
    Record Number: This would be calculated from the two fields as (012720091130)
    Also when you press the submit button the XML file name would be the Record Number (this would be a coded filename to correspond to the time of arrival).
    Any Ideas?

    Creating the Arrival time string should be easy. Its a case of adding a number of strings together. Assuming the date is held ina field called dateField and the time is in a field called timeField the javascript expression woudl look like this:
    TargetField.rawValue = "Arrival Date: " + dateField.rawValue + " Arrival Time: " + timeField.rawValue;
    To get the recordNumber you will have to parse the unwanted chars out of the strings then add the two together just like above.
    The data file name will be the same as the PDF file that it came from. You cannot change the name of it easily without certifying the document (and that brings in its on set of problems).

  • Calculating total time.

    I'm somewhat new to using spreadsheets. Basically I just want to keep track of the time I spend doing a particular job. So I'm tracking my start time, end time, and then I want to calculate the total time spent. Thanks.

    Yes, I thought about that. But if you start at say
    9pm and end at 2am you would get the incorrect result
    of 7 hours. I think I have to convert the time to
    something else before the math takes place. But I'm
    not sure how that would work.
    I'm not sure how you managed to subtract 9pm from 2pm and get 7 hours. When I try 2am - 9pm, I get #VALUE!, as AppleWorks reads both 'times' as text, and cannot use Text values in a formula that requires numbers. AppleWorks is a bit fussy on what it considers to be a number.
    Using the default alignment, you can recognize what AppleWorks thinks is a number—it will be aligned to the right of the cell—and what AW considers to be Text—it will be aligned to the left of the cell. In the case of Time, you're better off using the 24 hour clock, and entering one minute betore 2pm as 13:59.
    The Mac clock's unit of time is the (24 hour) Day, and all times entered are regarded as the portion of one day that has elapsed up to that time. When you do the subtraction, the result is also a time of day. For start and end times within the same calendar day, simply doing the subtraction will give a result that can be read as the (correct) elapsed time. For the example times you gave, the 'correct' result is also visible:
    02:00 - 21:00 = 05:00
    But the actual numbers behind that 05:00 result and the two times used to get it are the portion of the current day that has passed up to each of the times entered, and the difference obtained when you do the subtraction:
    0.0833 - 0.8750 = -0.7917
    If you only want the (readable) result for a single day, that's not a problem. But if you want to add the results to get a total time for a week, you need to (make AppleWorks) do some additional math. In simplest terms, you need to add 1 to the end time if the end time is on the calendar day after the start time. There's an explanation of this below, which you should read for a better understanding of Time and the Mac, but which isn't necessary to use the formula.
    The formula assumes your start time is in column B, your end time in column C, your formula reporting time worked is in column D, and that you will enter times in rows 2..6, and calculate the week's sum in D7
    Enter in D2, and fill down to D6: =IF(C2,C2-B2+(C2<B2),"")
    Format these cells to display as Time.
    Enter in D7: =24(SUM(D2..D6)) —to report the result in hours (eg. 25.678)
    Format the cell to display as Number, General.
    or
    Enter in D7: =INT(24(SUM(D2..D6))&":"MINUTE(SUM(D2..D6)) —to report the result as hours and minutes
    Note that the second option for D7 produces a text string which will not be useable in further calculations.
    This is Text, so no Number formatting is necessary.
    Regards,
    Barry
    Time and the Mac
    The Mac clock tracks time in Days and Fractions of a Day, starting at midnight, January 1, 1904.
    Nine PM today, May 8, 2006, represented as a decimal number, is 37383.875. Two AM tomorrow, May 9, 2006, is 37384.0833333333.
    An AppleWorks spreadsheet cell (or database field) formatted to display as Time will ignore the whole number part of those numbers, and interpret the decimal fraction part as Time of Day, and display the result in the Time format you have chosen for the cell.
    A cell (or field) formatted to display as a Date will ignore the fractional part of the number, and display the whole number part in the Date format you have chosen.
    When you enter a time, the result is the time of day on January 1, 1904. When calculating elapsed times where start and end times cross the midnight boundary, you need to add 1 (day) to the result to compensate for the change in day and get a result that can be used in further calculations. That's what the "+(C2<B2)" part of the first formula above does—adds 1 if "(C2<B2)" is TRUE or adds 0 it it's false.
    If you add times, the result is 'correct', but if the total reaches 24 hours, the displayed result will appear incorrect as a Time formatted cell ignores the whole number part of the actual result (eg. 27 hours, or 1.25 days), will display as 03:00, the same as 3 hours, or 0.25 days. You can convert the result to hours and fractions of hours by simply multiplying the result by 24, and displaying it as a Number rather than as Time.

  • Add 1 hour to date/time field in list

    I need some help understanding the Date/Time fields in SharePoint Online. I've created a list with 2 date/time fields... StartDate and EndDate. I want the StartDate field to default to the current date/time. I want the EndDate field to default to the current
    date/time + 1 hour. I've tried numerous formulas in the default calculated value for these fields, and couldn't get it right. I finally got it, but I don't understand why. Here is the scenario:
    ***Note: Time Zone is set to UTC+5 (EST). Current Time is 8:45am
    Attempt 1:
    StartDate - Selected "Today's Date" for the Default Value
    EndDate - Selected "Calculated Value" for the Default Value. Entered the formula
    =now()+TIME(1,0,0)
    Actual Results - StartDate: 5/28/2014 9:00am  EndDate: 5/28/2014 6:45am
    Attempt 2:
    StartDate - Selected "Calculated Value" for the Default Value. Entered the formula
    =now()
    EndDate - Selected "Calculated Value" for the Default Value. Entered the formula =now()+TIME(4,0,0)
    Actual Results - StartDate: 5/28/2014 5:45am  EndDate: 5/28/2014 9:45am
    Attempt 3:
    StartDate - Selected "Calculated Value" for the Default Value. Entered the formula =now()+TIME(3,0,0)
    EndDate - Selected "Calculated Value" for the Default Value. Entered the formula =now()+TIME(4,0,0)
    Actual Results - StartDate: 5/28/2014 8:45am  EndDate: 5/28/2014 9:45am
    So on attempt 3, I finally got the results that I was looking for. However, I don't understand a couple things:
    1. Why does selecting "Today's Date" for the default value, not select the current time?
    2. Why do I needed to offset the hours by 3 to get the current time?
    Thanks in advance,
    cflbasser

    The now function in my environment gives me the time in which the server is housed. If I change the regional settings it does not have an effect on the time. I'm guessing this means that your server is hosted in the UK or somewhere near there and the regional
    settings don't have an effect.

  • Help with Date/Time Field

    Hi,
    I'm very new at using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.0. For the past little while I've been using it to create a bunch of interactive forms. The only problem I've run into so far is a date and time stamp I've put in that is a Calculated - Read Only field. Only users with Adobe Reader and Professional can see this field. All other users with Adobe Standard can not see this field. Has anyone run into this same problem and know what I'm doing wrong?
    The field is using a Runtime Property for the current date and time, instead of a Calculation Script

    Thanks Niall,
    The format of date and time is fine. When I open the file up myself (in Adobe Professional, not Designer), the form looks great and when others who only have Reader can also see this form fine. For some reason, it's only people with Adobe Standard that don't see this field and this field only in the form. Btw, we are all running Adobe 7.0 currently, but have plans in the future (hopefully soon) to upgrade.
    Thanks again.

  • Calculating End Time

    CA Forum: Formula
    I have a Start Time field (24 hour format) and Duration field (in minutes) and want to calculate the End Time of a meeting. I have not been able to figure out which Time variable to use to make the calculation. Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    This formula will display the End time as 11:30:00AM.
    timevalue() + ( * 60);
    If you want the end time displayed as 11:30 AM then;
    totext((timevalue() + ( * 60)), "HH:mm tt");
    Where the start time is of the format "10:45" and Duration is the minutes which is numeric.

  • Calculate one month prior to user entered date by a Date/Time field

    Hi All,
    I am currently pretty new to Live cycle and have no idea about Java scripting, i have been using this site a lot for my forms and have used the FormCalc for expanding tables and so on but this one is proving difficult. I am currently designing a form that requires a calculation of one month prior to a user entered date by a Date/Time field. I have looked at multiple posts on how to do this but none have worked (they are using the Date2Num).
    Is anyone able to enlighten me please?
    I currently have:
    Date/Time field Date Due
    Date/Time field Planned Date of Review
    I need Planned Date of Review to be calculated to be 30 days prior to Date Due. How do I go about doing this? Is it incorrect to use a Date/Time field as the field type for the calculation?
    Cheers
    Brad

    You can use FormCalc to compare the user input.
    Put this script into the exit:Event of the date field.
    if (Date2Num($.formattedValue, "MM/DD/YYYY") ne date()) then
    $host.messageBox("The entered date is not todays date!")
    endif

  • How to find differene between two time fields??

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to find difference between two time fields,  I have created two formula variables by using replacement path for the two time fields, I have taken dimension key NUMBER, because of this time format is converting to numbers for example if the time is 13:20:10 then it is converting to 1,32,010 then it is calculating, I am getting wrong values.
    Is there any options to find out the difference between two time fields.
    Thanks in advance,
    Venkat.

    use COPF_DETERMINE_DURATION. Its better you do it in data model itself.
    If you have date and time seperately use command
    use CONVERT TIMESTAMP command and
    then use this function module to get the difference in
    timestamp
    CCU_TIMESTAMP_DIFFERENCE
    us this in conjunction with the below function module
    DAYS_BETWEEN_TWO_DATES

    Hi priya,
    do this:
    declare in your itab a field like sy-uzeit.
    as example.
    move sy-uzeit to itab-uzeit.
    In fieldcat do this:
        MOVE  'X'                        TO   WA_FIELDCAT-NO_ZERO.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to show a time field in a form portlet

    Hi,
    I am not familiar with PL/SQL and I was wondering how I could show a time field on a form portlet.
    I have a date column in my database that stores the time and date together, but I do not know how to separate them into date and time fields. I also do not know how to concatenate them when a user inserts a new record, or how to query on a date alone.
    At present, the user has to type the date and time following this format mask hh:mi am DD/Mon/RR
    I also have a problem with one of my hidden id fields. I have set the default to a sequence.nextval (#qtc_app.seq_visitor.nextval) and then hidden it since
    it is irrelevant to my users. However, I can no longer use the query function since the sequence is always generating a new value. How would I only generate
    a new sequence no. when a user inserts a record??
    Thank you!
    cheers, Kim

    Hi,
    Each colunm in the form has a format mask associated with it. For the date column make the format mask like this DD-MON-RR HH.MI. This will show the date along with the hours and minutes.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila
