Calculation of GW for increase in capitalization

Hi all,
My users will develop an Increase in capitalization and want to consider, not only the common stock but also reserves and Retained earnings prior years generated after the first consolidation until the current year.
I have told them that reserves and RE prior years amounts are distributed between the group and minoritiy interest investee and hence, they shouldn't be use to calculate a new Goodwill as they are distributed every year. Am I right or the situation they are explaining it is also correct acording to SAP?
On first consolidation they used Common Stock + Reserves + RE prior years + RE current year againts Investment to calculate the GW. Now they want to use Increases on Common Stock  + inc.Reserves + incre. RE prior years to calculate a GW for a increase in capitalization when I expected the only used incr.on CStock againts modifications on Investment... Am I wrong?

SAP systems are not advisors or business consultance or auditors.
SAP systems allow almost everything the client wants.
The main problem here is to properly formulate the proper wishes.
Usually, some external (or internal) business consultants or auditors say to client what is right and what is wrong (if talking about consolidation). Especially, taking into account that the companies may conform the different legislations and standards.
So, I fully share Collet's concerns: do you have such skills that you may consult the client from the position, I'd say a consultant from Big4? If no, than this is not your competence to advice the client. You may certainly, use your knowledge in order to discuss some nuances. But you must implement what the client wants.
The worst case when a client has no such experienced consultants, his/her specialists are not sure what is right and what to do is not clear for them. Do not take a responsibility of advising the client. Better leave such project ASAP.

In small companies (as, most likely, is your past experience) the management may listen to consultants implementing some software. Not a big deal.
However, if the company allows itself a consolidation system like SAP EC-CS or SEM-BCS, then it is a big incorporated company that usually has auditors, may hire business-consultants, methodologists and so on (upto guys from Big4). No one would listen to IT-consultants who try to change the consolidation policy of the whole holding. Just because the price of any error might be huge.
When you asked tech questions it was Ok, but when you tried to ask the functional ones (Q abt GW is a such Q) and more than that you said that with these answers to such questions you will try to influence on somebody from the Co management.
So, IMHO, the questions asked by Collet were very logical: who you are, what's your role in the company and what kind of company you work for???
Just for future references: AFAIK, nobody who does not dedicate all the time to SDN is paid for their activities on SCN. It's just our free will to help others. Sometimes this help becomes punished.

    We are running the consolidation activity no.05 that is Increase in Capitalization in which we are mentioning the Equity Data and Investment Data separately with no change in percentage, while running the consolidation activity for the same consolidation unit we are getting the Goodwill +ve as well as the Goodwill -ve  separately, actually the system should post the document by knocking off the equity with investment and the difference should be posted in either Goodwill +ve OR Goodwill -ve and not to the Goodwill +ve AND Goodwill -ve both separately as what the system is doing right now.
    Eg: Cons Unit 4000, FS Item Goodwill +ve 3000007, FS Item Goodwill -ve 1021080, FS Item Equity 1021000, FS Item Investment 2031050
    Assume first conso is already being done, there is increase in investment by cons unit 4000 with no change in percentage in 2000 and increase in equity.
    Now the system should knock off the investment and the equity data and post the Goodwill +ve OR Goodwill -ve, it should not post the document for equity and investment separately creating the Goodwill +ve and Goodwill -ve
    Note: while running the first consolidation with the same type of data with 01 activity, the system posts the difference perfectly in either Goodwill +ve or Goodwill -ve

    I will give you following example
    Parent -4000
    Subsidiary -2000 with 100% held by parent
    Firest consolidation is over and Goodwill+ ve is already created by knoking off the investments with Equity
    Afterr subsequent consolidation Year is over and carried forward the balalnce
    Next year there is increse in Share capital as well as Investments however no change is there in % COI activity number 05
    Now the system should after the AFD must read the earlier goodwill posted last year and post the necessary entries in the same Goodwill+ ve but it is not doing so
    It reads the increse in share capital and puts the same amount in Goodwill -ve different FS item
    like Equity DR
    TO Goodwill -ve CR FS item 1021080
    similarly it reads the investments data and puts the same amount in Goodwill +ve
    like Investments CR
    TO Goodwill +ve DR FS item 3000007
    It should in real senese knowk off the Equity and investments and post the difference in one FS item only and not Two as just explained above
    It should post the Documnet as follow
    Equity DR
    INvestments CR
    and whatever differnece will come it should post it to either
    FS item 1021080 or FS item 3000007
    but it is not doing so
    IT IS not reading investment and equity data together

    The only strange thing is the MDX script, I would have used this one instead (sse below) - but if this is not the issue, I would suggest you to isolate the issue in a simpler MDX script removing any other calculation.
    Also take a look at the DateTool solution for these calculations - I really don't like the wizard provided by the development environment, it has other issues but not something that should affect your calculation:

  • Issue in Calculation schema determination for Scheduling Agreements

    Dear All,
      I am facing an issue in Calculation schema determination for Scheduling Agreements. The issue is -
    "Appropriate calculation schema is not being determined when a scheduling agreement is being created"
    The required settings which have been maintained are - The Calculation Schema (ZEIC31) has been created, Vendor Schema group has been created, Purchasing Organisation Schema group has been created, They both have been assigned to the Calculation schema in Schema determination, The Vendor Schema group has been assigned to the Vendor Master Record in master data creation.
    When I am creating the scheduling agreement, the system is by default choosing the calculation schema - RM0002. Thus I am not able to put the manual condition types which have been assigned in the calculation schema - ZEIC31.
    1> On what logic is the system picking that calculation schema?
    2> What settings can I do to make it pick that calculation schema only which has been assigned with POrg Sch Gp and Ve Sch Gp?

    As per "Define Schema Determination" in spro Purchasing document should pick the Pricing Procedure .
    After creation of scheduling agreement have chacked your values in Scheduling agreement (Purchase ORG ,Schema grp in Vendor)
    2> What settings can I do to make it pick that calculation schema only which has been assigned with POrg Sch Gp and Ve Sch Gp?
    Check in Vendor mater is there any Plant specific Purcahsing data maintained.If it is plant specific Check purchasing data for that Plant.

  • Model Binding and Calculated Field Syntax for "class" Attribute

    Hi,
    I tried to use the calculated field syntax from SAP UI5 to change the CSS class attribute of an element based on some model property, i.e., I wanted to change the class in the corresponding formatter function based on the currently bound value. However, my formatter function is not called. When I use the same syntax on a text attribute, it works.
    I also tried to use normal property binding, but it did not work on the class attribute either (it just put class="{property}" in the rendered HTML).
    Is there anything I missed or is it just not possible to use property binding and calculated field syntax for class attributes? Did anybody try something like this before?
    I think it is a standard use case to change the CSS class based on some model property. So, if anybody knows how to do that, could you give a short example?

    They have a class property. At least, I can do the following in an XML view:

    I would expect the following to work as well, but for me it did not:

    It seems like the class attribute is something special although I don't see a reason why. Other HTML templating engines, for example, support things like that.

  • MRP RUN for increased qty of SODS PR for complete qty instead of increase

    While doing MRP RUN for increased qty of SO No line item 10 to 20,System is making PR for complete qty instead of increased qty.
    Sales order  - 0001
    Line item - 10 Qty - 10
    Line item - 20 Qty - 15
    MRP run against the sales order for line item 10 & 20 PR / PO raised for qty 10 & 15 respectively.
    After that qty has increased in sales order.Again we run MRP system generates totla no of PR insted of Increased qty .
    Sales order  - 0001
    Line item - 10 Qty - 10 + 5 = 15
    Line item - 20 Qty - 15 + 5 = 20
    Plz help

    There are few questons here:
    - when you increase the amount of the sales order item, is the newly added amount confirmed with the same date / schedule line? You can check the schedule lines for that SO item.
    - have the purchase requisitions, which were generated after the first MRP run (before the modification of the SO items), been modified manually (are they firmed?) / processed? In this case MRP cannot modify (delete) them (and create new ones)...
    - did you check the MRP control settings in material master
    Remark: even if you get several PRs, you can create one PO from them.

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a Requirement for calculating the cost for Subcontracting  Non stock items N as it is getting calculated in standard functionality for subcontracting items of Type L.
    This will be done in CK11n ( used to calculate the standard cost estimate of the product) for header as well as component materials.
    please suggest the user exit or Badi where i can change.
    Please refer the below logic-
    BOM for the material 2000500 as Header and 1LPL0835298AB as a component and this component has an assembly with 7008508 as a component and this component is an Sub contracted item and this has an assembly with component 1LBA182151-3.
    Price calculation for the material 7008508 (Item Category as N). Since this is sub contracted item the price will picked from field EINE-NETPR.
    In EINA, pass the material (MATNR=7008508) to fetch the list of info records (INFNR) created for that material.
    Then it has to input those info records to EINE table along with Purchasing organization (EINE-EKORG=PT02).
    From the output of EINE table, it should compare the price (EINE-NETPR) of the PIR and should take the least price from those PIR`s.
    If the currency is other than PLN, then it should be converted to PLN based on conversion charges.
    For Material (MATNR=1LBA182151-3), it should pass the material number to table MBEW along with valuation area (BWKEY = WERKS).
    From the output, it should check the Price control (VPRSV) ‘V’ or ‘S’
    If ‘V’ the price will be picked from the field “VERPR”
    If ‘S’ the price will be picked from the field “STPRS”
    Also from the output, it should check the Price unit (PEINH) ‘1’ or other than ‘1’. If it is other than ‘1’ it should divide the VERPR or STPRS by PEINH. Then this is the price of the Material “1LBA182151-3”.
    The material (MATNR=1LBA182151-3) should be passed to table “MARA” and will take the Base unit of measure from that table “MEINS”.

    Following are the details about my client requirement:
    1. My client has a depot plant dealing with trading material and no manufacturing activity.
    2. Present Scenario:
    Material Purchase price: 100
    Excise Duty: 14
    Sec E.D: 2
    Hr.Sec E.D: 1
    Material Sales Price: 200
    Excise Duty: 28
    Sec E.D: 4
    Hr.Sec E.D: 2
    3. Expected Scenario:
    Material Purchase price: 100
    Excise Duty: 14
    Sec E.D: 2
    Hr.Sec E.D: 1
    Material Sales Price: 200
    Excise Duty: 14
    Sec E.D: 2
    Hr.Sec E.D: 1
    For the above the price will be changed at a Condition record level.
    There are no standard functionality available in standard SAP kindly advice on some workaround for the above requirement.

    Let me thank you for the response. The excise calculation as pointed by you is right. For material price of 100 (BED = 14; SE Cess  = 0.28 & Hr.Sec Edu Cess = 0.14).
    Now my query is when there is a Material price increase in case of trading material Which is 200 (BED = 28; SE Cess = 0.56 & Hr,Sec Cess = 0.28). Presently system calculates Excise duty on 200.
    Since it is a trading material there is no value addition to the material Excise duty should calculate on Rs. 100.
    Is there any workaround available?

    Total stock is also calculating in report only. So it wil get divide by differnce between the date range.
    How can we do that?

    Using formula variable you can find difference between 2 dates .
    -create two formula variables for 2 dates .
    -create a formula to differenciate them
    -create formula variable and divide that by stock it will give the average stock ..

Now my user wants to change this all future months calculation would be same except for September every year. Now What function do I use in condition for calculation to check if month is September than do a different calculation.

    As u need to exclude the spetemner month you need to add the code in of clause.
    If
    new condition
    Month(row) = 9
    result row
    else
    result row.
    Inthe result row u can do ur calcualtions...
    You can do this in a new step  for the exception you want to maintain.Hope this will help you.

    We made some new different tax code and attached with JVCD , its calculating in PO but in MIRO calculation part not done but for other condition type ,JVRD,JVRN system calculating well...

    We totally agreed with you and already we checked our configuration part is OK.Actually we want to map some process where we captured excise in GR but no need to take credit i.e. to post the excise in J1IEX,so we do not have to post our cenvat/modvat entry in MIRO but we need to calculate VAT whether it is deductible or non deductible.So far this thing is concerned,we made separate tax code which we use at time of MIRO posting and in configuration we did not attached the tax code in logitics-basic excise -assign to company code. Because once we attached here , system asking to make to pass furst RG part2 entry then it allows to post MIRO entry which we do not want .So please understand this scenario is different and we got the success for JVRN/JVRD for VAT but getting issue in case of capital VAT where system does not calculate tax for JVCN/JVCD .....where we want to process MIRO without posting J1IEX..

  • How to define calculated key figure for more summerized level ?

    Hi,
    I'm new with Query and client ask me Ito calculate  % of WorkHrs / Plan Hrs.   I was able to calculate the % for all selected employees.  There're no problem .
    But when user drill on Time Code, they lost the % calculation because plan hrs is not presented at that detail level. User will see X at % calculation field as system can not perform the calculation.   PlanHrs is present at more summarized level only.  User still want to see that % calculation possible at detail level.
    I`ve tried different calculation, summarization but none of them work.  It works only for one employee but using SUMRT () but It doesn't work if there`re multitple employees in the report.
    My question is how can I do calculation at detail level if data existe only at more summarized level ?
    Could someone help me to make this calculation possible ?

    The 3 rd KF column is the calculated ratio which is =>  2nd Column (Work Hrs) A% 1st column (PlanHrs)
    Right now, I cann't get % at detail line (they're now shown as X, because PlanHrs is not null at detail line.
    I'd like those X should be calculated as =>  WorkHrs (at that line) A% PlanHrs (of that specific employee) .
    For example: 16 A% 1827 = 0.875%
    It seems soo eassy but I coulnd't do it.

    The Financial Accounting program cannot process the document.
    Procedure
    A system error has probably occurred in the application you called up. Check the data transferred to item "0000000001" of the FI/CO document
    I am not able to understand where I mistaken.

  • Calculation of Depreciation for Tax for India

    Hi
    In India, there is a requirement that the Depreciation for Income Tax should be calculated based on the date of Acquisition. If an asset has been acquired before or on completion of 180 days of a Financial Year, than the calculation of Depreciation is allowed for full year. If the asset has been acquired after 180 days , depreciation is allowed only for 180 days. Hence for an asset acquired on 25/09/2009, system should allow calculation of depreciation from 01/04/2009, assuming that the fiscal year starts from 01/04/2009 and ends on 31/03/2009. However, if the asset is acquired on 07/10/2009, the system should allow depreciation from 01/10/2009. Sap has delivered standard depreciation keys for the same in reference chart of depreciation for India 0IN.
    But if the asset has been acquired on 01/10/2009, still the asset has to be depreciated from 01/04/2009, since the asset has been acquired for less than 180 days into the fiscal year. The system is working fine for asset capitalized on 25/09/2009 and 07/10/2009. But we are not able to map the same if asset is capitalized on 01/10/2009 and 02/10/2009. For these two dates, the depreciation should start from 01/04/2009.
    I have checked the period control setting and calender assignments and everything seems to be in place. How can we tackle the issue?

    The same has been resolved.I Created a new assignment in Period Control IT for my fiscal year variant. For month 10, i added a new line item with no of days as 2 in addition to no of days as 31 for month 10.
