Calculation of respone time in Web Test

Hi Team,
We do use think time and some web test plugin before/after web request.
When we run the webtest, Is think time and time taken by web or load test plugins added to actual response time ?

Response times are the intervals between sending a request and receivng a response. Think times are intervals between receiving one response and sending the next request.
Plugins normally run very quickly. I do not know where their execution time would be accumulated but I would expect that normallly it would be too small to notice. If you are worried about execution time of plugins then you could look in the load test
results at the counters Overall => Test =>
% Time in load test plugin and Overall =>
Test => % Time in Web test code.

Hello,
My application generates report in different formats, such as: Adobe, Excel, XML, CSV and HTML
I have a webtest that makes all preparations, then generates a report.
In my application I have an option either to save the new generated report or open it.
When I try to open the new report, the web test doesn't see it and therefore not allows me to test it.
Please refer me to knowledge base or let me know how to resolve this type of issues.

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Since this web performance test is used to verify the Http request/respond work correctly in VS, and the browser session is then displayed as a list of URLs in the Web Performance Test Editor.
However, as you said that you want to test a generated report in my application by using web performance test in VS2012 Ultimate. If the report is not as the Http format, so I think that it is not possible to test a generated report by using web performance
test.

How do I create a 1d array that takes a single calculation and insert the result into the first row and then the next calculation the next time the loop passes that point and puts the results in thsecond row and so on until the loop is exited.

The attached file is work inprogress, with some dummy data sp that I can test it out without having to connect to equipment.
The second tab is the one that I am having the problem with. the output array from the replace element appears to be starting at the index position of 1 rather than 0 but that is ok it is still show that the new data is placed in incrementing element locations. However the main array that I am trying to build that is suppose to take each new calculation and place it in the next index(row) does not ap
pear to be working or at least I am not getting any indication on the inidcator.
Basically what I am attempting to do is is gather some pulses from adevice for a minute, place the results for a calculation, so that it displays then do the same again the next minute, but put these result in the next row and so on until the specifiied time has expired and the loop exits. I need to have all results displayed and keep building the array(display until, the end of the test)Eventually I will have to include a min max section that displays the min and max values calculated, but that should be easy with the min max function.Actually I thought this should have been easy but, I gues I can not see the forest through the trees. Can any one help to slear this up for me.

I didn't really have time to dig in and understand your program in depth,
but I have a few tips for you that might things a bit easier:
- You use local variables excessively which really complicates things. Try
not to use them and it will make your life easier.
- If you flowchart the design (very similar to a dataflow diagram, keep in
mind!) you want to gather data, calculate a value from that data, store the
calculation in an array, and loop while the time is in a certain range. So
theres really not much need for a sequence as long as you get rid of the
local variables (sequences also complicate things)
- You loop again if timepassed+1 is still less than some constant. Rather
than messing with locals it seems so much easier to use a shiftregister (if
absolutely necessary) or in this case base it upon the number of iterations
of the loop. In this case it looks like "time passed" is the same thing as
the number of loop iterations, but I didn't check closely. There's an i
terminal in your whileloop to read for the number of iterations.
- After having simplified your design by eliminating unnecessary sequence
and local variables, you should be able to draw out the labview diagram.
Don't try to use the "insert into array" vis since theres no need. Each
iteration of your loop calculates a number which goes into the next position
of the array right? Pass your result outside the loop, and enable indexing
on the terminal so Labview automatically generates the array for you. If
your calculation is a function of previous data, then use a shift register
to keep previous values around.
I wish you luck. Post again if you have any questions. Without a more
detailed understanding of your task at hand it's kind of hard to post actual
code suggestions for you.

How to capture all the values(occurrence) using Extraction Rules(correlation) in VSTS web test?

I am using VSTS 2010 for performance testing and have a question about Extraction Rules functionality. Requirement below.

we need to capture all the values with same left and right boundary. Along with the number of occurrence from the response. We need pass a random value in the
index where the index value will be between 0 - count of values with same left and right boundary.

You can achieve your requirement as below
Create context attributes TIME_LEFT of type TIMS & DELEY of type I
Create a text view eleemnts to show the time left value and
Create a TIMED_TRIGGER ui element and bind the property delay to the context attribute DELEY and create an action REFRESH, bind it to the event onAction
Set the initial values of context attributes TIME_LEFT & DELAY like below
TIME_LEFT = '01:20:00'
delay = 1
Hence, timer ui element refresheshes each second and you can reduce the value of TIME_LEFT by 1 second to see on application

An implementation of Webdynpro based UI could be estimated by a 'standard' technique like any other U:
1. Try to count the number of views/screens/popups in your application. The estimation time will be proportional to the quantity.
2. Try to count the number of external interfaces would be used in the application. For example, quantity of necessary BAPI invocations (RFC), quantity of Web-service invocations or EJB calls. Also quantity of native JDBC queries if any.
Test = Nviews x Hview + Nint x Hint, where Hview & Hint time in hours for average implementing of one UI view and time for adding of average service invocation.

VS2010 does not record file upload process for web test

I'm trying to record the process of uploading a file to the system for web performance test.
The problem is when a new browser opens for uploading a document, the visual studio is not recording the URL (....Attachement/Upload.aspx) or POST and related Form Post Parameters.
Is there any settings to able to record when a new browser pops up?
I'm using VS2010 ultimate and the system is on MS Dynamics CRM platform.

Maybe you could use the Fiddler tool to record a web performance test, check the result.

Proxy Auto Config Web Test Plugin - VS 2012

Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me with my problem. I've currently created a number of web tests which require a web test plugin in order to run. The issue that I am having is that our company proxy is via Proxy Auto Config file.
But I cannot find anything about passing this in to the WebProxy object.
Is there another option for me to pass the config file or url to the file so that my web tests will run correctly?

Setting timeout for all the web test scripts in the solution

Hello,
I have around 16 web test scripts (using VSTS 2010 ultimate version) in my project (in a solution). By default the timeout set for each request is 60 sec. I need to increase the timeout to 180 sec. Currently, I am clicking on each request and modifying
the timeout parameter from the Properties window.
Is there any common setting for timeout available which would be acting across all the scripts?

We only can set Timeouts for a separate request in Visual Studio Web Test. There is no way to set Timeout for all requests in VS IDE. But you can write you own logic code using
Timeout Property in a web test plugin to set Timeout for all requests in a web test.

Cess on TDS is not calculating at the time of F-47 (vendor Down payment Requst)
Mean system is deducting TDS amount only, not deducting Cess amount on TDS . at the time invoice posting Cess & TDS calculating in this company code (1111)
But in other (2222) companycode,system calculating cess on TDS at the time F-47 . both company codes under the same system. if we apply perticular notes on above issue is there any affect to other (2222)company code settings ?

In the withholding tax settings Define Withholding Tax Type for Invoice Posting
and Define Withholding Tax Type for Payment Posting for CESS ,check whether you selected in <b>calculation part</b>: tax amount as base for calculation and selected inherit base.
If this is not done system will not calculate the Cess.

SCOM 2012 - Visual Studio Web Test - Cannot retrieve downloaded test results / share not configured

I am trying to get my Visual Studio web test to work in SCOM 2012. I have configured the run-as account, and set the correct overrides for the Alert attachment file share discovery. I followed this guide to the T: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj899889.aspx
When I Select the site that I want to download the test result file for, The results pane shows the following error:
"The share does not seem to be configured in the Alert Attachment Management Pack"
When I attempt to download the result file without manually entering creds, it fails. When I do enter creds, in the "task history" it shows as succeeded, but I get no results. All subsequent automatic "Retrieve previously..." fail. In
the "task history", the "Run As" column is blank (unless I manually enter the credentials, which doesn't do me any good, anyway)
My "Alert Attachment" MP is inside another MP I created, along with the "System Center Global Service Monitor VS Web Test" MP and two other System Center MPs. This created MP is the one that my Alert Attachment Overrides are attached
to.
My Run-As account has the needed permissions to the file share, so I am lost as to why this isn't working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Execution time for web reports

Hello every one,
How to calculate execution time for web reports, for query execution we will go through RSRT, by giving query name and press execute + Debug button then select statistical data & Do not Cache buttons then press enter, after getting output press on back button, we will get duration of the query.....
But my question is , can we calculate execution time for webreport, if so can you please guide me.
and can you also tell me , if there is any RRI for one report, how to calculate execution time for these queries.
Ex : Query ABC have XYZ as its drilldown report , i need to calculate execution time for XYZ report via ABC report.

For reports executed in java web you can add the parameter &PROFILING=X
to the URL in order to record the execution time. Please have a look at SAP note 1048691 for further information.

Varinace calculation taking more time

When calculating the variance through T.Code KKS1, it is taking longer time for variance calculation. Previously time taken for variance calculation was not so much even when there were similar number of production orders being processed. Could you please comment on the possible reasons for this.

Run Time Engine Web Service

Hello Gents, Anybody knows why I can't access to VI (*.exe) on remote PC. On remote PC has been installed only standard 8.6 Run Time Engine. Do I need to install additional parts like NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine Web Server or/and LV Web Server? And is it possible to communicate through this using RTE on both sites?

Sure, with LabVIEW installed it works properly. But questions is "how I can to view VI interface on PC with RTE installed via Web browser in case when this VI has been uploaded on this PC?".
It is mean that we are using Web Server for this. Are you sure standard LabVIEW Run-Time Engine contains this? And as I’m understood I need to copy *.html files to somewhere…. on this PC? Thank you for support and advices
