Calendar reporting different date to that set in constructor

Hi all, can anyone explain why when setting the date in the contstructor as 1/12/2007 and reading back out to the screen it is read out as "1 / 0 / 2008" ?
Here's the code:
Calendar calendar = new GregorianCalendar(2007,12,1);
          int defaultdate = calendar.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH);
          int defaultmonth = calendar.get(Calendar.MONTH);
          int defaultyear = calendar.get(Calendar.YEAR);
          System.out.println("Default date = "+defaultdate+" / "+defaultmonth+" / "+defaultyear);
          System.out.println("Timezone = "+calendar.getTimeZone());OUTPUT:
Default date = 1 / 0 / 2008
Timezone = sun.util.calendar.ZoneInfo[id="Europe/London",offset=0,dstSavings=360
0000,useDaylight=true,transitions=242,lastRule=java.util.SimpleTimeZone[id=Europ
e/London,offset=0,dstSavings=3600000,useDaylight=true,startYear=0,startMode=2,st
artMonth=2,startDay=-1,startDayOfWeek=1,startTime=3600000,startTimeMode=2,endMod
e=2,endMonth=9,endDay=-1,endDayOfWeek=1,endTime=3600000,endTimeMode=2]]
Cheers in advance for any advice on this.

Months are zero-based, January is 0, ..., December is 11. You can use
the symbolic constant:
new GregorianCalendar(2007, Calendar.DECEMBER, 1);

  • Report deployed on production server show different data from that in debug mode

    Hi,
    i have created a report that use temporary tables and when i get the preview on Management Studio show some data, but when i deploy the same report on the production server i see that the data is different!!!!
    To check this issue i create a simple table on which i transfer the results data before to show it on the report and with my surprise  the number of rows of the production execution is less than the debug execution!!!!
    Notice that i use the same value for the report parameters.
    Any idea?
    Thanks a lot!!!

    Hi ,
      Check in your solution folder and try to find .data file.
      Delete the data .Data file on the same name of your report and run the report from SSMS.

  • Crystal Report Chart Data (Y) Axis setting

    Is there a way to set the Y axis to use a variable for scaling. For instance, I have various units of measure some 1-10, some maybe 100-500, etc.  I'd like to have the capability of setting increments depending on how I want it to scale.

    Thats my problem.  I want the ability to auto based on my own input. in the auto range I can only set 1 range of value. what if i have value that range from 1 to 1000.  my chart will compress to much. so i want to say for this particular phase i want a range of 1 to 10. maybe another phase i want a range of 20-100.

  • Can I change Calendar type to Date type?

    Hi Gentlemen,
    Here is the scenario.
    A user enters a date as string.
    I pass that string to a class named DateStamp
    where I get this string say [s]
    and parse it,then I create a date object.
    here is the code for it.
    public Date setThisDate(String s) {
    DateFormat format = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy/mm/dd");
    Date d=null;
    try{
    d = format.parse(s);
    }catch(ParseException pe) {
    pe.printStackTrace();
    //Calendar date = new GregorianCalendar();
    //date.setTime(d);
    System.err.println(d.toString());
    return d;
    the error I got is,
    Unparseable date
    can some one guide me please.

    Your program is trying (and failing) to convert a String to a Date. So why do you keep asking how to convert a Calendar to a Date? That's not your problem. Your problem is that your SimpleDateFormat expects to be given a String containing a 4-digit year field, a slash (or dash), a 2-digit minute field, a slash (or dash), and a 2-digit day field. That doesn't make any sense, and that's why you get the error. It would work better if you specified a month field instead of a minute field:
    DateFormat format = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy/MM/dd");

  • Not able to edit the report created on different data source.....

    I have a query regarding Report in OBIEE - reports developed from BI Publisher are specific to data source on which they have been created ??
    i have a sample report that was created on different data source, i have the corresponding RPD also. I changed the data source according to my DB and when i try to update/edit the report,
    on Analytics for adding a new column, it is generating a seperate new Query from QueryBuilder for that additional cloumn rather than adding up the new query with the previous one(existing report query). Is it because of mismatch of data source on which report had been created and on which it is being update ?? if it is the case, where do i need to make changes related to JDBC connection or others ??
    when i try to create a new sample data set and try to update it, it adds up the extra edited things to original query and works perfectly fine. can ny 1 help me for the same ??

    Hi Denis,
    Normally,what we do is once we provide access to webi users group for each user from BO supervisor module, user(s) will able to refresh/edit the existing report from Full client BO.His colleagues have had no problem editing all his reports from their machines but he is not able to edit any report from his machine and BO is getting freeze.
    He also reinstalled BO and cleaned out everything on his Computer and re-built it but the issue is not yet resolved
    Can you please tell me how to resolve this issue

  • Report using two different data sources won't work.

    I'm trying to build a report that shows information from a production table and an archive table.
    Tables are in different databases, which are defined as their own Data Sources in Publisher.
    Two data sets containing the same query but using different Data Sources are defined in the Data Model.
    When selecting option 'Concatenated SQL Data Source' the report never completes.
    If any of the two Data Sets is selected as the Main Data Set, the report shows information related to that source only.
    Any hints on how to make this work would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    ccastillo

    More details on this issue:
    The production database has a synonym pointing to the archive database. I build a query using a UNION ALL statement linking both tables.
    For the same set of parameters, this query completes in a couple of minutes outside BI Publisher, but never ends (I cancel after an hour) inside Publisher.
    Is there any special considerations for the use of synonyms inside Publisher?

  • Reports fail when run against a different data source

    Hello,
    We have a VB.NET 2008 WinForms application running on Microsoft .NET 3.5. We are using Crystal Reports 2008 runtime, service pack 3 -- using the CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer in the app to view reports. In the GAC on all our client computers, we have versions 12.0.1100.0 and 12.0.2000.0 of CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, CrystalDecisions.Shared, and CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.
    Please refer to another one of our posted forum issues, u201CCritical issue since upgrading from CR9 to CR2008u201D, as these issues seem to be related:
    Critical issue since upgrading from CR9 to CR2008
    We were concerned with report display slow down, and we seemed to have solved this by using the Oracle Server driver (instead of either Microsoft's or Oracle's OLEDB driver).  But now we must find a resolution to another piece of the puzzle, which is:  why does a report break if one data source is embedded in the .rpt file is different than the one you are trying to run the report against, in the .NET Viewer?
    Problem:
    If you have a production database name (e.g. "ProdDB") embedded in your .rpt file that you built your report from and try to run that report against a development database (e.g. "DevDB") (OR VICE VERSA -- it is the switch that is the important concept here), the report fails with a list of messages such as this:
        Failed to retrieve data from the database
        Details:  [Database vendor code: 6550 ]
    This only seems to happen if the source of the report data (i.e. the underlying query) is an Oracle stored procedure or a Crystal Reports SQL Command -- the reports run fine against all data sources if the source is a table or a view).  In trying different things to troubleshoot this, including adding a ReportDocument.VerifyDatabase() call after setting the connection information, the Crystal Reports viewer will spit out other nonsensical errers regarding being unable to find certain fields (e.g. "The field name is not known), or not able to find the table (even though the source data should be coming from an Oracle stored procedure, not a table).
    When the reports are run in the Crystal Reports Designer, they run fine no matter what database is being used; but the problem only happens while being run in the .NET viewer.  It's almost as if something internally isn't getting fully "set" to the new data source, or something -- we're really grasping at straws here.
    For the sake of completeness of information, here is how we're setting the connection information
            '-- Set database connection info for the main report
            For Each oConnectionInfo In oCrystalReport.DataSourceConnections
                oConnectionInfo.SetConnection(gsDBDataSource, "", gsDBUserID, gsDBPassword)
            Next oConnectionInfo
            '-- Set database connection info for each subreport
            For Each oSubreport In oCrystalReport.Subreports
                For Each oConnectionInfo In oSubreport.DataSourceConnections
                    oConnectionInfo.SetConnection(gsDBDataSource, "", gsDBUserID, gsDBPassword)
                Next oConnectionInfo
            Next oSubreport
    ... but in troubleshooting, we've even tried an "overkill" approach and added this code as well:
            '-- Set database connection info for each table in the main report
            For Each oTable In oCrystalReport.Database.Tables
                With oTable.LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo
                    .ServerName = gsDBDataSource
                    .UserID = gsDBUserID
                    .Password = gsDBPassword
                    For Each oPair In .LogonProperties
                        If UCase(CStr(oPair.Name)) = "DATA SOURCE" Then
                            oPair.Value = gsDBDataSource
                            Exit For
                        End If
                    Next oPair
                End With
                oTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(oTable.LogOnInfo)
            Next oTable
            '-- Set database connection info for each table in each subreport
            For Each oSubreport In oCrystalReport.Subreports
                For Each oTable In oSubreport.Database.Tables
                    With oTable.LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo
                        .ServerName = gsDBDataSource
                        .UserID = gsDBUserID
                        .Password = gsDBPassword
                        For Each oPair In .LogonProperties
                            If UCase(CStr(oPair.Name)) = "DATA SOURCE" Then
                                oPair.Value = gsDBDataSource
                                Exit For
                            End If
                        Next oPair
                    End With
                    oTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(oTable.LogOnInfo)
                Next oTable
            Next oSubreport
    ... alas, it makes no difference.  If we run the report against a database that is different than the one specified with "Set Datasource Location" in Crystal, it fails with nonsense errors

    Thanks for the reply, Ludek.  We have made some breakthroughs, uncovered some Crystal bugs and workarounds, and we're probably 90% there I hope.
    For your first point, unfortunately the information on the Oracle 6550 error was generic, and not much help in our case.  And for your second point, the errors didn't have anything to do with subreports at that time -- the error would manifest itself even in a simple, one-level report.
    However, your third point (pointing us to KB 1553921) helped move us forward quite a bit more.  For the benefit of all, here is a link to that KB article:
    Link: [KB 1553921|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333533353333333933323331%7D.do]
    We downloaded the tool referenced there, and pointed it at a couple of our reports.  The bottom line is that the code it generated uses a completely new area of the Crystal Reports .NET API which we had not used before -- in the CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer namespace.  Using code based on what that RasConnectionInfo tool generated, we were able gain greater visibility into some of the objects in the API and to uncover what I think qualifies as a genuine bug in Crystal Reports.
    The CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ISCRTable class exposes a property called QualifiedName, something that isn't exposed by the more commonly-used CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table class.  When changing the data source with our old code referenced above (CrystalDecisions.Shared.ConnectionInfo.SetConnection), I saw that Crystal would actually change the Table.QualifiedName from something like "SCHEMAOWNER.PACKAGENAME.PROCNAME" to just "PROCNAME" (essentially stripping off the schema and package name).  Bad, Crystal...  VERY BAD!  IMHO, Crystal potentially deserves to be swatted on the a** with the proverbial rolled-up newspaper.
    I believe this explains why we were also able to generate errors indicating that field names or tables were not found -- because Crystal had gone and changed the QualifiedName to remove some key info identifying the database object!  So, knowing this and using the code generated by the RasConnectionInfo tool, we were able to work around this bug with code that worked for most of our reports ("most" is the key word here -- more on that in a bit).
    So, first of all, I'll post our new code.  Here is the main area where we loop through all of the tables in the report and subreports:
    '-- Replace each table in the main report with new connection info
    For Each oTable In oCrystalReport.ReportClientDocument.DatabaseController.Database.Tables
        oNewTable = oTable.Clone()
        oNewTable.ConnectionInfo = GetNewConnectionInfo(oTable)
        oCrystalReport.ReportClientDocument.DatabaseController.SetTableLocation(oTable, oNewTable)
    Next oTable
    '-- Replace each table in any subreports with new connection info
    For iLoop = 0 To oCrystalReport.Subreports.Count - 1
        sSubreportName = oCrystalReport.Subreports(iLoop).Name
        For Each oTable In oCrystalReport.ReportClientDocument.SubreportController.GetSubreportDatabase(sSubreportName).Tables
            oNewTable = oTable.Clone()
            oNewTable.ConnectionInfo = GetNewConnectionInfo(oTable)
            oCrystalReport.ReportClientDocument.SubreportController.SetTableLocation(sSubreportName, oTable, oNewTable)
        Next oTable
    Next iLoop
    '-- Call VerifyDatabase() to ensure that the tables update properly
    oCrystalReport.VerifyDatabase()

  • Pointing a report to a different data source

    Post Author: RPatel11
    CA Forum: Administration
    We have to .xls files that are exactly the same.  The layout, content, and data are the same items.
    We initially built a bunch of reports around one data provider, however we needed to create that data provider on a different drive due to some restrictions that came up.  Instead of recreating the reports how can we get those reports to point to the other data provider that is the exact same file but now housed at a different location?
    Used data provider 1(a) to make BO Reports
    Copied data provider 1(b) to another location
    BO report still pulls from 1(a) till it gets deleted
    We need BO report to pull from 1(b)

    hi,
    you said u have one set of reports and u would like use the same reports
    to  different locations and it should pick data based on the location  is it right?
    i would like to know one thing  are you using same database for different locations?
    If you are using different data bases, then u have to change the data base connection
    in the Universes>Parameters>connection and then refresh the reports.
    In case it the reports are free hand sql reports u have to change the data base connection
    and then refresh the repots.
    I think this will help you....
    Thanks for your patience.

  • How to process reports with two different date fields

    Morning all,
    This question is somewhat similar to what I asked few days back. I created two different reports for two different departments (Credit Control and Free of Charge Control).
    These two reports pull data from two different date fields and has different status check ups.
    Few days back my director requested me if he can have both reports in one report. That is when I asked question from all of you regarding two reports.
    Anyhow, that was created by implementing two sub reports however, the director asked me to combine the two different reports into one in such a way that the output records should be added up with each other hence one single report with all combined data of Credit Control and Free of Charges (not two sub reports in one report).
    The problem here which I am getting is that, both reports uses two different date fields. I can live with two different statuses as that can be easily done within formula/RT however how to create a report with Report Selection Formula condition which looks in both date fields and produces results accordingly?
    I have tried this by not putting any condition in report selection formula and ran the report, it produced total results from past 6 years.
    Any ideas how to produce combined report which has two different date fields?
    Many thanks in advance
    Regards
    Jehanzeb
    What I

    Charliy,
    No the both dates are from two different databases, tables and fields. The Credit date field is from KLAB database under max table where as the FOC date field is from SAE database under maxmast table. Klab date is under credit2 table where as foc date is under order header table.
    So its more like this:
    Klab->Max-Credit2--->Credit_date
    Sae->Maxmast->Order_header---Date entered.
    two dates totally different tables, dbs
    however, I will try your idea too and see if that works.

  • Printing Multiple Reports in a Single Request Set to Different Printers

    We are running on 11.5.10 and have three reports in a single request set.
    Two of the reports are standard laserjet compatible reports and we would like these sent to whatever printer is specificed in the request set when it is executed. The third report is a shipping label report and we require that this report always print to a specific (tractor feed) printer while using a partiuclar style we have defined for this printer.
    When we set the label report in its concurrent defininition screen to print only at the label printer and the request set to print to a nearby laserjet the request fails on the first job (one that should be sent to the laserjet) with an error indicating that the style defined for the label printer (ie. "RAW") does not exist on the laserjet printer (which it does not, but it does not need to be).
    Is it even possible to have two reports in a single request set print to different printers?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    We never bounce the concurrent manager process when we update the concurrent program define. There has never been a need to do so. But, regardless, it bounces twice a week anyway and it has had no effect.
    I do not think this is possible without using a 3rd party/custom solution (ex. Optio).
    The requirement is pretty simple really: We have a report that MUST ABSOLUTLEY ALWAYS_ print only to a single, particular printer. And, if it is in a request set that contains other reports and it is defined to print to a different printer they all should go to the "correct" printers.
    If anyone has a method to do this please post!

  • How to report on 2 different dates in one report?

    Hello,
    I need to have Date in a sales report represent both Actual Goods Issue Date and Planned Goods Issue Date depending on the  sales order status (i.e. shipped or still in process).
    The report format is like:
    Date--Sales--
    Orders
    Jan 1                                    $0                         $100
    Jan 2                                    $50                       $150
    Jan 3                                    $100                     $300
    Sales is defined as shipped items. Orders are just all incoming sales orders.
    I need Date for Sales to be Actual GI date, and for Orders to be Planned GI date.
    In a customized DSO we have both these dates available, and currently, Calendar Day, Calendar Week are pointing to Planned GI date.
    Thanks.

    For those who might come across this note, the design issue was solved by incorporating Rule Groups.
    Problem:
    Need to have 2 different Date references for 0calday, based on the key figures. For example for Sales key figure date it would reference to Actual GI Date. But, for Intake key figure I needed the date reference to be Planned GI date.
    Solution-- applied to the transfer rules of the desired cube:
    1. In the starndard rule group delete the transfer rule for the appropriate key figures. in this case (sales key figure)
    2. In the same rule group map all time characteristics from the cube to Planned GI date from DSO
    3. Create a new rule group in the transfer rule between the DSO and the Info Cube
    4. In the new rule group, create a new rule for the appropriate key figure i.e. sales
    5. In the new rule group, Map the date/week/month/fiscal period to Actual GI date
    6. save/activate
    This solution eliminates the need for changing the data model, which makes everything almost transparent to the report users.
    Hope this helps someone.

    Hi Wendy Fu,
    Thanks for your feed back. I could see Microsoft.ReportViewer.ProcessingObjectModel.dll to add as reference to my project. Actually I can open generated rdlc in designer, at run time I get error. I could not make out where is the exact mistake out of three
    options flashed.
    The definition of this report is not valid or supported by this version of Reporting Services.
    The report definition may have been created with a later version of Reporting Services
    or contain content that is not well-formed or not valid based on Reporting Services schemas
    Details: Data at the root level is invalid
    My web config has following references
    <add assembly="Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845DCD8080CC91"/>
    <add assembly="Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845DCD8080CC91"/>
    May be I have to change these versions to 9 or 10.
    First I will try adding Microsoft.ReportViewer.ProcessingObjectModel.dll .
    Once thanks for your reply.

  • Reporting on data that is not there

    Hi,
    I have an infoprovider and a Query. I have created a variable to filter data from the query. Is there a way to report that some data is not there??
    If I enter value "123" in the CODE variable, and there is no record according to this, the system will say "no data found". Is there any way to get the system to say "True"/"False" wether this found some records or not?
    EJ.
    CODE/DATE
    123/200701
    124/200701
    125/200701
    If I enter "124" in the CODE variable, the system will say "True".
    If I enter "987" in the CODE variable, the system will say "False".
    Is this possible??
    thanks for the help.
    Mauricio.

    Dear Mauricio,
    The usual way to report on "non existing data" is to set up a MultiCube which combines your InfoCube and the InfoObject for which you miss records in the InfoCube.
    A query based on such a MultiCube will give you empty key figure values for all records for which InfoObject values do not correspond with an InfoCube records.
    As far as I know there is no way to adapt the variable screen logic, which would allow to see "True" or "False" there.
    Geetings,
    Stefan
