Calendar utility

Good afternoon;
I hope this finds you well;
I need your help in activating the calendar itility for date fields when the form is in ENTER-QUERY mode.
Why is the calendar utility disable when a form is in ENTER-QUERY mode?
Thank you,
Michel Turcot

In ENTER-QUERY mode a GO_BLOCK() built-in cannot be used - GO_BLOCK('CALENDAR').
This is the reason why the calendar utility is disabled when a form is in ENTER-QUERY mode.

    Hii Javaities
    I need to have calendar in my jsp for choosing dates
    Earlier i was uisng javascript for calendar but now i want to use Java beans .
    Can i use Java beans for calendar ?
    Are there any tag libraries for tht ?

    PDAs ? hmm...sounds interesting
    what technology have u thought of using for your application ?
    java microedition ...[certainly not c++ or .net] ?
    Is it going to be a stand alone application on a PDA .
    OR
    Are you thinking of wireless internet connectivity to the PDA? In this case your application might have to be designed strickly so that it fits the screen size.
    How about a tablet PC? It good for mobile computing and is handy too.

  • I have recently upgraded to mountain lion and I can not get the calendar application to work. I con appears on the side put on calendars. Any suggestions

    I have recently upgrades to Mountain Lion and I can not get the calendar utility to come alive. Icon appears in the tast bar but the application does not launch or appear to be any where else. Any suggestion?

    Did you look in the Applications folder for Calendar? If it is there, remove the item that is in the Dock and replace it by dragging the Calendar application to the Dock.
    If it is not there, did you have iCal located somewhere other than the Applications folder when you upgraded?

  • Calendar enter query mode problem

    I have successfully implemented the calendar utility supplied by
    the demo.
    However, has anyone figured out how to use it when in
    enter-query mode? It doesn't work because you can't navigate
    out of current block when in enter_query mode.

    In your Exit button's WBP trigger, do this:If :System.mode = 'ENTER-QUERY' then
      Exit_Form;
    End if;
    Exit_Form(No_Validate);To get the button to work while the form is in enter-query mode, it must be in the same block as the one being queried, or else you must set its Mouse Navigate property to No.

  • Anyone has experience syncrhonizing Oracle Calendar to ClearSync Palm Cal

    Hello, I have a user who is using ClearSync on their Treo 650 (this is a 3rd party calendaring utility that allows you to have multiple calendars on your Treo) and this user needs to synchronize their ClearSync calendar with their Oracle Calendar. Any experience with that, and how to get that done. This would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pierre.

    Hello,
    This question is more related to the Collaboration Suite than Oracle Application Server, so I am inviting you to post your question to one of the OCS forums, take a look to this page.

  • Desktop Manager cleared all Calendar entries.

    Hello,
    I installed the latest version of Desktop Manager on my new laptop and was checking it out when I pressed the clear button in the Advanced Backup / Restore screen. It was at the time on the Calendar line so it cleared all the entries in the Calendar. No "Are you sure?" no nothing! Just cleared it....
    As my previous laptop was really really slow, my last backup is from February. So before I restore that one, does anyone know of a way to "undelete" the entries? Seeing the speed at which the Desktop Manager cleared it, I was wondering if it didn't simply set the nuber of entries to 0 but didn't actually delete anything. Could that be reset?
    Any help / clues would be really appreciated as this little device is my whole life!!
    Many thanks.

    I also recently started having the problem described above. The Calendar events stopped showing on the Today screen using any of my Today themes. I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 using the 4.5 OS.
    I found that a Google calendar utility was running. I deleted it and then went to Options-->Advanced-->Default Services. The Calendar setting (CICAL) had been changed to point to my Google email account rather then my Yahoo email account. I changed it back to Yahoo and the problem disappeared on all Today themes. The calendar events were now showing on the Today screen.
    I haven't installed anything lately so what I am guessing happened in my case has to do with the QuickPull utility for soft resetting the system.  Recently, the free version of the program has started displaying ads following the reset. If you are not careful to tab to 'OK' you might install whatever is being pushed. I am guessing that I did exactly that and just didn't notice it. The Google app installed itself as a startup program and was probably responsible for changing my Calendar CICAL option.
    There is no need to use the Blackberry Desktop manager when doing the above corrections and a reset is not required.
    Hope this helps somebody out there.

  • Deviation in oracle 10g

    Dear all,
    how would we do deviation in oracle 10 g?
    i search some links, they said for a folder name oraclehome\ocommon and lnt files, but i did'nt find it.
    Thanks

    sorry EdStevens
    may be i am mis-spelling the word DEVIATION, somehow, for example,
    i am here in saudi arabia, i need the saudi arabia governament calendar in the forms.
    the saudi arabia local calendar is OMMOL QORA.
    when i select this type of calendar, some dates are missing, because the OMMOL QORA calendar is
    working on moon. so some months may have 29 days and some have 30.
    Since Hijrah month is based on the moon complete revolution around the sun, Hijrah
    Calendar has different number of days in a year than Gregorian; therefore some manual
    deviation adjustement might be needed for the conversion to/from Gregorian. In other
    words HIJRAH calendar is Lunar based, corrections need to be made every so often.
    oracle give a solution for that which is called deviation. it is ;
    Edit/create lxecal.nlt a file which is called lxecal.nlt , put it into for Oracle 8 up to 9i $ORACLE_HOME/ocommon/nls
    for Oracle 10g and up $ORACLE_HOME/nls
    shutdown the database
    do correction to the deviation file, an example is available on
    [http://www.club-oracle.com/forums/nls-setting-in-oracle-10g-database-t1370/]
    Run the NLS Calendar Utility lxegen to register your modification to Oracle calendar
    system, this utility generates lxecalah.nlb file in the same directory mentioned above.
    startup the database.

    Is any one using nls_calendar='Arabic Hijrah'? Its working fine but the only problem that we are facing is, oracle shows arabic date which is exactly less than one day of arabic date. i.e. if arabic data is 14th, oracle shows 13th. Any one have idea about this? I heard the same problem from so many people, is there any solution for this.

    1.How to set Calendar to "Arabic Hijrah" ?
    Answer
    Set NLS_CALENDAR parameter in one of the following ways:
    1. In the Current session :
    SQL> alter session set NLS_CALENDAR="Arabic Hijrah" ;
    2. All applications for a specific client:
    Set NLS_CALENDAR Variable in client OS environment.
    <e.g: On NT: set variable in the registry
    On Unix: set UNIX environment variable in .profile/.cshrc>
    3. Within SQL function:

    2.How to display both Hijrah and Gregorian dates in the same select statement?
    Answer
    select

    to_char(sysdate,'day dd month yyyy','nls_calendar=''English Hijrah'''),
    to_char(sysdate,'day dd month yyyy','nls_calendar=''gregorian''')
    from dual ;
    to make things a bit more clear:
    alter session set nls_calendar = 'Arabic Hijrah';
    gives the names of the Hijrah months in Arabic
    so you client needs to be configured to display Arabic. -> Note 179133.1
    alter session set nls_calendar = 'English Hijrah';
    gives the names of the Hijrah months in english.
    alter session set nls_calendar = 'gregorian';
    gives the names of the Gregorian months (jan-feb-etc).

    5. Adding ONE day in the lxecal.nlt gives TWO days added. How to workaround?
    Answer
    SQL> alter session set nls_calendar = 'Gregorian';
    SQL> select d from d;
    D
    07/06/05
    08/06/05
    SQL> alter session set nls_calendar = 'English Hijrah';
    SQL> select d from d;
    D
    29 Rabi' Thani 1426
    01 Jamada El Oula 1426
    07/06/05 needs to be 30 Rabi' Thani 1426
    so you add this to the lxecal.nlt
         DEFINE calendar
    calendar_name = "English Hijrah"
         DEFINE calendar_deviation
    deviation_data = {
                             <"Jun-07-2005 ad">:1
    ENDDEFINE calendar_deviation
    ENDDEFINE calendar
    and run lxegen
    SQL> select d from d;
    D
    01 Jamada El Oula 1426
    02 Jamada El Oula 1426
    * the date is now 2 days further!!! this is due rounding problems in the algorithm
    used for the calendar conversion a workaround is to substract FIRST one day in lxecal.nlt
         DEFINE calendar
    calendar_name = "English Hijrah"
         DEFINE calendar_deviation
    deviation_data = {
                             <"Jun-07-2005 ad">:11
                             <"Jun-07-2005 ad">:1
    ENDDEFINE calendar_deviation
    ENDDEFINE calendar
    and run lxegen, this gives:
    SQL> select d from d;
    D
    30 Rabi' Thani 1426
    01 Jamada El Oula 1426
    make sure that you substract first (= ":11") and then add (= ":1")
    in the lxecal.nlt for the date

  • Alert Log Content

    Hello!!!
    I want to see the alert log content for a specific date. But whenever I select a date window (date from.... date until) using the calendar utility there is none to be displayed!!!!
    Without search criteria the utility displays the last 10000 lines of the alert log content.
    Why this happens????
    Simon

    Hi ,
    When I say 'a window (date from... date to)' I mean a date period for example 01/01/2006 until 03/01/2006.
    On Enterprise Manager Console 10g there is the capability to select this date period using the built-in calendar (on right of each text item where I can write down the dates (begin/end date)).
    The answer you gave me means that I cannot search the log file content giving specific criteria , as I want?
    Thanks for your help !!!

    DEFINE calendar
    calendar_name = "Arabic Hijrah"
    DEFINE calendar_deviation
    deviation_data = {
    <"Sep-29-2000 ad">:1
    ENDDEFINE calendar_deviation

  • FINAL CUT "HIDING" & NOT COMING BACK??

    How come when my FCP "hides" it does not reappear. I can not save or anything, its very frustrating!! I have to force quit and then reopen my project whether it was saved or not! why does this happen?
    i've had this happen intermittently before and i never knew the reason.
    please help!
    thx
    seth shapiro

    it ABSOLUTELY should not be happening and it is ABSOLUTELY a problem, but one of the things that WE could be doing here is to figure out if there are other similarities in our systems.
    one of my observations over the years is to remember that in a computer system "everything effects everything"... so you may think that some 3rd party calendar utility "shouldn't" effect my Final Cut application not returning from being Hidden, but it may, you never know... (BTW... I have no idea if I should be using "effect" or "affect"... I'm not a writer)
    I have the same problem on one of the machines I cut on...
    it has a Kona LE and a bunch of OWC ram we got almost 2 years ago
    we also use Magic Bullet Looks.... that app takes over the screen so maybe it has some voodoo to it...
    those are things that are unique about that system because the Hiding problem does not come up on any other systems...
    Ok... thats my 2 cents... anyone else have any thoughts?

    Below is my code so far
    import java.util.Date;
    import java.util.Scanner;
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    public class DateFormatter {
         public void displayNow()
              Date todaysDate = new Date();
              SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MMM-dd HH:mm:ss");
              String formattedDate = formatter.format(todaysDate);
              System.out.println("Today's date and time is: "+formattedDate);
         public void calculateDifference(Date startDate, Date endDate)
              /* This is whre i need help! */
         public static void main(String[] args)
              DateFormatter df = new DateFormatter();
              Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in);
              df.displayNow();
              System.out.println("Please enter a date: ");
              String date1 = sc.next();
              System.out.println("Please enter another date: ");
              String date2 = sc.next();
    }The methods displayNow() and calculateDifference(Date startDate, Date endDate) are essential and cannot be skipped out.

    Dude. I've tried doing assignments under pressure, and it doesn't work. Here's a piece of free advice. Start earlier next time, don't put "urgent" in the title of your post b/c it just pisses people off around here--and is a sure sign of an overdue homework assignment which no one around here likes helping with, and try to ask intelligent questions--don't just say "Help me!"
    Of course, it takes some time to learn what the intelligent questions are. You have my sympathy. Try asking questions about how to do a particular task, instead of asking people to tell you what to do. It starts to get easier after a while.
    actually dude i started on this on monday.. but there were so many other stuff to do along with this.. and i did try referring up the Calendar utility but it was a bit confusing actually.. it was only after that did i come to this forum.. nor am i very good at Java.. anyhoo thanks for your sympathies :P
