Calendars for manufacturing and finance

hi,
we have a situation here in which we have gone live on financials with the calendar having 13 periods, periods coinciding with calendar mths. in manufacturing, we are going to have the 4/4/5 calendar: we believe manufacturing calendar cannot be anything but 4/4/5 or 5/4/4.
any gotchas there?
now, the client wants to switch over to the same calendar (4/4/5) for financials also, to have manufacturing and financials reporting in sync. question: is it necessary to do so for the sync to happen? what are the pros and cons of making/ not making the switch?
what could be the possible gotchas in the switch? need your opinions on this.

  • After last icloud backup, unrequested by me public holidays in the UK have been marked on the calendar and I can't find how to delete this. Also, I have been trying to delete a birthday from the same calendar for months and it keeps reappearing.

iPad 2 with iOS 7.01 After the last backup to Icloud, unrequested by me,  my calendar has been filled with public holidays of the UK which there doesn't seem to be any way of deleting. Also, I have been trying to delete a birthday from the calendar for months, this time using all variations of 'delete' and it keeps popping up again!

Are you also restoring from your backup? That sounds like what is happening or someone else has your Apple ID.
A backup to iCloud would have no way to add UK holidays to your calendar. Open Calendar, tap on Calendars at the bottom middle of the page and untick the ones you don't want.

  • Project Resource Calendars for onshore and offshore (different working hours)

    Advice please.
As with many companies we use Project 2010 with onshore and offshore resources.
    Facts are as follows:
    Onshore resource – 09:00 – 17:00 – 35 hour week
    Offshore resource – 08:00 – 18:00 – 40 hour week
These resources are in different time zones; however that element is not an issue.
The problem seems to be with resource calendars.  Resource calendars are setup as per above and assigned to appropriate resources in EPM/Project Server 2010 - however could be local for same issue.
The problem is that work is reflected correctly in hours or days but not both.
So looking at Task usage table.
    For example:
Typing in hours for Onshore and Offshore resources on any task is correct.
So 7 for onshore and 9 for offshore.  However when you can the work view in options so that work is entered in days, its incorrect for offshore.
Same hours for both but incorrect days.  Basically the resource calendar does not seem to have an impact.
The Plan default working times can be set to either schedule but either way one or the other type of resource is out.
For instance :  Offshore resource 9 hours should equate to 1day. However it equates to 1.29 days.
Which would be correct if that resource was on an onshore cal.
    My assumption is as follows:
Set the Project default hours to 08:00 – 18:00 – 9 hour days, 40 hour week.
This allows offshore to work there hours as the project plan is effectively open for business.
Onshore resources should then be restricted to their resource calendar meaning that they only work 7 hours per day regardless of the plan indicating 9 hour days.
    Hope that makes sense...
Any thoughts would be much appreciated…..
    -CL.

    Hi,
Everything you write is right, and your confusion only stems from the misunderstanding of how Project defined the "day" as a time unit.
Matter of fact, Project uses for its calculations only ONE time unit which is the MINUTE.
Of course, that implies the HOUR is a usable unit as well - an hour being 60 minutes isn't questioned by anyone.
OTOH, your post illustrateds tha a definition for  day is not so obvious; Project's definition is that a day is always equal to an hour times the parameter "hours per day" in the options. So what a day is, is totally independent from any calendar, Project,
Resource or Task calendar. Within that definition the values you see are "right".
But the good news is that your other assumption, quote:
Onshore resources should then be restricted to their resource calendar meaning that they only work 7 hours per day regardless of the plan indicating 9 hour days.
That is true. Work is planned according to available working time in the appropriate calendar.
My advice is to not use the day as planning unit in any view: the hour will better allow to understand how Project is planning the tasks.

  • Lead Time for manufacturing and its corresponding Quantity in Material Mast

    Hi all ,
Do we have any feilds in SAP Material Master
    which are useful for
    1) Lead Time for manufacturing
    2) Manfactured Lead Time Quantity
if the mateials are produced inhouse.
    thanks
    ksr

    Dear,
There are no such a fields in material master, But in MRP 3 view you will get theotal replenishment lead time field.
Which use for the produced in-house if the replenishment lead time is included in the availability check:
This is nothing but the  in-house production time and, if available, the goods receipt processing time.
Also refer this link to calculate the in-house production time correctly,

  • ATP for manufactured and procured materials

We have a scenario that we have essentially a make-to-order process but occassionally, due to setup costs, manufacture more than what is needed to satisfy the sales order line item that triggered the planned/production order.
In other words, when sales order ATP executes, we would like  to first check for unrestricted inventory to supply the order.  If there is available inventory, it should be used on the sales order line item.
If there is no inventory on hand, we want MRP to run and create an order using the Make-to-order process.
    Can someone help wtih this?
    Thank you,
    bak

    Hi Bak,
The only way i have seen this done in the past is to create two materials codes for the sames material one is the stock item and the second is MTO, so when you have stock you can use the stock material code or there is none in stock to use the MTO material code.
The second option is too have one material that is MTO but when the order is placed to check if there is available stock and then to do a Stock to sales order stock material transfer. then when you run the ATP check the stock is available and no production is generated

  • Sync Calendar for pop3 and exchange in entourage.

I have about 6 pop3 emails with my website and one exchange email. how can i send myself an invite to a meeting or calendar event on my iphone. when I receive my email to my iphone it gives me an icon that says meeting.ics but it cannot read it. how can i go around this.

I sync the calendar from Entourage (but not contacts).
In Entourage, Preferences, Sync Services, you have to turn it on. After that, you should see info magically show up in iCal and Address Book, and when you sync the phone via iTunes (or MobileMe), it should sync to the phone.
It is prone to glitches, though, I think, so do some backup first. But you'll get better info with a search/question on the Entourage forum--many more iPhone users there than Entourage users here:

Are you saying that you could not even see the calendar in the DTPicker?
If that's the case, it is strange, because I can pick a date even without running the VI.
Which version of LabVIEW are you using?  Can you show the Front Panel after you open the VI, and without running it?
See screen captures of the Front Panel without running the VI.

  • Shared Calendars / Room Lists and automatically forcing them to users based on Security Group Membership

    Good morning all,
I need some help achieving the following in our Exchange 2013 Environment.  First off, we have Exchange 2013, but all our clients have Outlook 2010.
Here's what I would like to be able to do:
    1) create/manage public calendars / rooms in exchange 2013
    2) force these shared public calendars / rooms to users' calendars who are members of particular security groups
    3) give edit permissions / "booking" permissions for the shared calendars so select users are able to make changes to the shared calendars, as well as accept/deny requests to "book" shared room calendars
Any one got any resources they can give to point me in the right direction?
I have already created two mailbox room resources, and have them set up in a room list in AD.  But need to know the above as far as creating a shared calendar for events, and forcing these calendars / room lists out to users based on security group
    membership.
I don't want my users to have to know how to add a shared calendar...that would be a nightmare explaining.  I just want it to show up.
Any help on this is greatly appreciated, thank you!

    1) I recommend using Room Mailboxes for resource calendars because it just works better.
    2) This is a standard feature of a Room Mailbox.
    3) You're pretty specific here, but I think this is also more or less available with a Room Mailbox combined with folder rights.
I don't know any way to just make them "show up".  You'll have to teach them.  Well written instructions can work wonders.

  • Possibility of giving match code  for Manufacturer in Equipment Master

    Hi -
We can have a field exit on fieler HERST of Equipment Master.
Is there any possibility of giving a match code on this filed? so that we can maintain a table for manufacturer and user can select any one entry from this table.
We do have activated filed exit for manufacturer check, but need to further restrict the entry so that there is uniformity of entry maintained in this field.
    Kindly advice.

    hi narendar,
    some information :
In addition to the above mentioned exit we have also created a custom match code for this field in one of our project ... the exit gets triggerred whenver user hits enter and the value entered here is used in selection criteria that displays the custom popup window ... the data is picked from vendor master table the selection createria we used was vendor name and description and vendor acount group MNFR - for manufacturers would be defaulted and displayed. So you can go with creating a custom match code which is invoked whenever user selects F4...

  • Can't enable calendaring for some users in WGM

    10.5.6 server
OD set up and working fine
I'm trying to get going with iCal server for the first time
The 3 accounts that I initially enabled for calendaring seem to work fine, but now I can't add any more. If I enable calendaring for a user in WGM and save the record, if I go to another record and then back to the one I changed, I see that calendaring is disabled for that user.
It continues to work for the initial 3 users.
iCal server error log did have some messages about "Record disabled due to conflict: <OpenDirectoryRecord..........."
I read on another post that this indicates a problem with duplicate UIDs/GIDs
I found one each UID ad GID that were both duplicated in local and LDAP records, so I changed those in WGM. On top of that I found that groups "Open Director Users" and "Open Directory Administrators" had the same GIDs in both local and LDAP domains, but guessed that I had better leave these alone. There are no other duplicate UIDs or GIDs.
    Stop and start iCal server.
    Problem remains.
    Any ideas please?
    Many thanks......

    Dear All,
I have the same problem, i can't active the 'web calendaring' for groups and for users, the checkbox 'enable calendaring' don't stay checked if i close and open the workgroup manager...
    Someone has a solution?

  • Generate Calendar for Cumulations

    Hi Guru's,
Can u explain clearly what does this step means Generate Calendar for Cumulations  I have read this step many times in F1 help but i couldn't get the correct information. Can u please explain in detail where it is used.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi,
use the report RPUCTP10 (Generate calendar for cumulations and deductions) to define the assignment of payroll periods.
Ex: this we will use this report for deduction like I want to deduct wage type amount quarterly basis,  the wage type amount in  IT0014 accordingly time intervals  (for example, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly).
For this deduction and cumulation we need to define the payment models and periodicities, for that payment models we have to assign the period parameters like monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly.
This payment model again we have to assign MODDE feature.
If do you want understand easily go to path:
Personnel Management-> PA->Payroll Data->Recurring Payments and Deductions->Payment Models-> Define deduction periods - before this node we have to generate the RPUCTP10 program.

  • How do you setup workgroup calendar for everyone?

I am not quite certain how to setup a shared calendar for everyone - like one general office calendar.  Is the only way to do this is to use a fake user in my ODM?  I have a calendar for myself, and I see how there are calendars bound to wikis, but the documentation isn't clear on how to setup a calendar for a workgroup.
    Thanks.

    Hello;
You can do that is Measurement and Automation Explorer (the blue NI logo at your desktop screen). Then, you create a virtual channel, configure the channel as a voltage input, and enter the scalling for that particular sensor. You can probably get all the information as far as scalling from the sensor vendor.
After you enter those numbers, you should be all set to start your acquisition.
    Hope this helps.

  • Calendar for vendor

    Hello experts,
Someone knows if it exists a calendar for vendor and It is possible to use for calculating the delivery date?
    Thanks for your help!
    Regards.
    XeviG.

    No
You cannot have vendor's calender in your system. You need to include their holidays in vendors planned delivery time in info record.

  • I am using my MacBook for person and work purposes.  Will I overload it and cause it to crash? And how can I finance a new one without paying all upfront?

I am afraid that my computer won't be able to hold all of my files for work and personal use. Will it?  And if I get a new notebook strictly for work, how can I finance it without paying all upfront?

It would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
Rather than buying a MacBook Pro to replace your MacBook you can just get a bigger hard drive. You can get a 1tb drive for around $100 and they are easy to replace in a MacBook.
