Call a BI Publisher Report URL with parameters

Is it possible to call a BI Publisher URL from a form but pass the parameters along so the report can run with the user having to fill any parameters in? If so, how do you pass the parameters in the URL? We are trying to do some Proof of Concept work on a new project and would like to introduce BI Publisher into the mix instead of using Oracle Reports.

What I want to do is to have an extra column or use the id column as a link (which says Print Report) to call an BI Publisher report. This call should pass over the id and open the report in a popup window.
For certain reasons I do not want to use the built in report queries and layouts in apex, just call the report straight for BI.
I call other BI reports in my application, but always from a button.

Hi,
All that such a button does is submit the page and branch to page zero passing in the request field something like this:
PRINT_REPORT=my_report
So, to do the same in a dynamic action, use an "execute javascript code" action with something like this in it:
location.href = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=my_report';

We've seen this bug on machines running IE6 with a certain security patch (I forget its number). There's a thread in the Metalink reports forum about it. It appears to be somewhat tied to another problem where IE runs the report twice (you can see that in Showjobs. You're seeing the problem in 6i; I believe it persists in 9i.
The workarounds are (1) set Acrobat so it doesn't open within IE or (2) switch to a different browser, like Netscape. For workaround 1, Start Acrobat Reader, Choose File -> Preferences -> General, Uncheck Web Browser Integration
There's some evidence that it occurs more often with urls that include single quote characters. I think it's worse with XP, but I don't have any proof.
If you check Adobe's site, you will see this isn't just an Oracle Reports problem. I think we're waiting for Microsoft on this one, so don't hold your breath for a quick fix.

I'm building a ADF Mobile application and would like to call remote URL with parameters however there is no concrete example of this in the developer guide. I would like to call www.google.com?q=queryParam where queryParam is an user input.

I think you need to first define a white list of sites and this will allow opening the page in the web view instead of a separate browser see:

I'm able to open a url in a browser from my application, but I want to open a url with parameters.
for instanse http://mypage.asp?parameter=a
You get a file not found. Is this possible?
I'm currently using
Runtime.getRuntime().exec( "cmd /C start " + url);

Found the answer -- you have to put the url in quotes lest the ampersands parse the end off.

Lauching URLS with parameters Form Personalization

At Crawley Borough Council we wish to use FP to launch urls with parameters; this would really enhance how CRM is used at Crawley BC. There values are taken from the contact centre customer block e.g. CUSTOMER_HEADER_BLK.CUST_FNAME would could be translated to the value of FRED.
I can launch URLs without parameters ok, as soon as I add parameters I either get a url that does not translate the parameters or get an ORA error on vaildation.
Can somebody please advise me the correct way to proceed.

Calling Transaction SP01 (Display spool requests) with parameters via URL

Hi,
I would like to be able to list all spool requests of a certain title via a URL.
Unfortunately ITS does not seem to work. A URL constructed like this
http://host:port/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/!?sap-system-login-basic_auth=X&sap-client=500&sap-language=EN&transaction=SP01&S_RQTITL-LOW=Testing123&okcode=CRET
causes a short dump that SP01 (Program RSOSP01NR) is a Module Pool.
I am therefore considering the following options:
1. BSP Program
2. Java WebDynpro
3. ABAP WebDynpro
Ideally, I want to be able to enter in my browser something like
http://host:port/<BSP_or_WebDynPro_stuff>&~title=Testing123
and for this to show in the browser a list of all spool requests that are named "Testing123".
Can someone advise whether any of the above options are preferable?
Also, whether such a program should call transaction SP01 with parameters (skipping first screen) or look to using the associated function modules.

I am having requirement from client to send SMS using URL for which mobile number and text are the parameters.
Now i want to call this in sheduled job using abap program,
one of the person suggested me HTTP_POST for the same.
But how to pass the parameters for this.
Or is there another way to call this.

Bi publisher report issues with selecting multiple parameters.

Hi there I have a Bi publisher report when I query it for a single parameter it works fine and gives me the result.
But when I select multiple parameters Lets say I have selected 3 parameters and try to view the results it does nt give me a proper report. It leaves me some blanks and gives me negative values.
The report is working finr for one parameter In order to select two parameters I added the following code in the sql query
and ( coalesce(null, :JOB_ID) is null
or c.JOB_ID in (:JOB_ID)) .
Can some one please let me know if this is correct or should I have to add anything else in the query.
Even if I hard code it by saying JOB ID IN ('x','y','Z') and try to run the report it is not giving me exact values.
BUt when I run the same query in database am getting correct values..
Can anyone help me with this issue please??

How to call the XML Publisher Report thro Standard PO Output for Comm.

We need to call our custom report(XML Publisher Report) from the standard PO Output for Communication Report.
There is a parameter(Purchase Order Layout) in PO Output for Communication in which we can see no. of standard reports. We want to add our custom report in that list so that when we will run this standard report by selecting our custom report for Purchase Order Layout parameter, we should get the output as per our Custom report.
Since PO Output for Communication is a Java Concurrent Program, we are not able to place our custom report in the list of Purchase Order layout Parameter.

Calling a BI Publisher Report in EBS 11.5.10.2

I have created a custom BI Publisher report in OBIEE 10.1.3.4. This was developed on my desktop. Now i want to implement this report in EBS 11.5.10.2 application. What are my options. Also I think i need to install an OBIEE Server in an environment that EBS can access, right? Appreciate your inputs as I am working on a customer PoC.

I do not believe you will ever be adding in OBIEE to EBS. You can create the report template outside of EBS and then publish it within EBS (assuming the format is valid, etc.).
Yes the Custom Report is Built with a Custom RTF Template. Now how do I get to this BIP report to be called from EBS

I'm already able to call a particular WoC view via URL by passing the app.component and app.inport parameters.
Is there also any way to pass specific filter values, e.g. a customer id?

yes, you can pass the parameter of the Inport as well.
An example is the Sales order QAF for 'New Sales Order' which has an inport ContactIDWriteBackIn. This inport allows passing an parameter called ID which is then mapped to the Contact ID of the UI.
The corresponding call is:

Calling a xml publisher report from Ebs - question

Hi,
I know how to call a xml report from ebs using concurrent manager. But i want to open it from a form in application.
My situation is this:
There is a form in the payables modelue, where i search for all the invoices.
There is also a button action in this form wich take the id of the row in wich it is my position and open a rtf raport with this id.
What i need to do is to call my xml report in this button . To pass my raport the id of the row in wich i am and open my report with paramateres.
Can this be done? Has anyone tried this before?

Calling a XML Publisher report from FND_SUBMIT_REQUEST

Hi,
I need to submit a XMLP report from FND_SUBMIT_REQUEST.
The report will have say, 4 templates for 4 seperate languages.
Now, when i call the report from submit request, i need to give the name of a template that will get attached.
Does anybody have any idea which parameter in the submit request parameter list takes the name of a template?
