Call all user info using wwsec_api.person_info

I want to call all user info using wwsec_api.person_info and then place this info into a new table. I can call the current users info and print it out with this code. But how do I call the info for all users and either send them to some kind of array or put them directly into a table.

When you upgrade the operating system, all users are upgraded to be used with the new version, so you won't have to upgrade OS X each time for all your users

Hi do we share the same itunes in all of our i=user accounts on our imac using OSx Lion?

Two approaches. Do you mean a single library (as in what you see in iTunes, playlists, etc.)? Or do you mean the same media but each person has different libraries?

Can apps be used by all users on my mac?

If I install an app using my lMac login name, say Mac1, can user Mac2 be able to use that app as well?

Welcome to the world of Macs.
If the application requires admin privileges to install, and most do, then all users can use the application. Other users may have to drag the image to their own dock, but should be able to find the application in the Applications folder under Finder.

I am using this code to retrieve user info. But here the employee id retrieved is not correct. I have set the information in the general information portlet and want to retrieve data from that portlet. How do I do that???

I'm not sure if this is what you need, but in remote portlets I get all user information using users' object manager and by querying an extended data. Here is an example (in VB)

thanks for helping out on this issue.
Is there a way to set all users on your system to have the same working environment? I believe, as root you can edit the /etc/profile. But when I looked at the file, I was confused. I had no idea where to add stuff because it was a script.
Please if anyone can help me explain how to customize system wide working environments, I will be very grateful .

It's not clear what you understand under system wide working environments ?
/etc/profile it's one possible solution.
Another way - put custimozed .profile to all users and use customezed */etc/skel* for new users.

System object with same credentials for all users?

Hi everyone
I would like to create a system object in Portal, which can be used by users in a specific group. However, I want all users to use the same credentials for this system. Is this possible?
I've tried creating systems, but they all seem to require user mapping to work correctly. Is there some way I can create a system object with the credentials as part of the object, and then just assign permissions to it as required?
Please let me know if this raises any questions.

i dont think it is possible to create a system object for all the users with same credentials.anyways you are trying to create system object for some users who belong to a particular group.so you need to do only one time user mapping for that group
go to user administration-search for the group-go to user mapping tab-give username and password..

How to move IDCS3 prefs to "All Users" ??

I have a querstion about InDesign prefs. and moving them so that all users that log into a computer get them when they launch Indesign CS3.
asically I am using Norton Ghost to create 20 identical PC's, I want all users to log in with a standard set of prefs. set for indesign. So I created all changes in indesign and closed ID. I open it up my changes stick and all is good.
When I log in as a differant user though, none of the prefs are there?....I even moved the user profile that I used to create the prefs and save them to the Default User profile of the computer.
Right now I assume the prefs are here:
C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 5.0
Adobe does not recomend just copying the InDesign folder in this path to another computer.
Anyone know where / how to get everyone that logs into the computer to use the prefs I have created?

But in answer to your question, there really is no way to insure that all users are using the same set of preferences other than locking down the computers using something like Altiris Deep Freeze.
Preferences are user-specific, and they are written to the user profile every time the application closes. You can start all users with a common set of preferences by copying the InDesign Defaults file in the folder you mentioned, along with the InDesign SavedData file you'll find in C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 5.0\Caches, but you can't prevent anyone from making changes.
If you want everyone to have access to a particular custom workspace, copy it to C:\Program Files\...\Adobe InDesign CS3\Presets\InDesign Workspaces.

I think there might be information there on how to reset Time Machine to do a full backup. I think you basically have to reset it and start over.

Creating a new webpage using PhP based on user info

Hey all! I'm going to try and explain this the best I can, I dont think it's too complicated but we'll see
On my website, what I want to have happen is when a user registers (First name, last name. username, password, email) and hits the "register!" buttton, a new webpage is created that has all of the users info displayed (well, almost everything )
example is someone browses to my website at www.slaughtergaming.com , goes to my register page, and creates an account with the name 'nyius'. a webpage is then created using the users username (so something like www.slaughtergaming.com/nyius) in which anyone can visit and see all of my info (username, first and lastname, email, etc)

how would I check to see which user is viewing the page, then load all of the relavent users info?
Right now when the user logs in, their username and password is saved in the session, so I assume i just need some script that checks who is logged in and then load their info respectively?

New Server: How do we aim ALL users email accounts to use the new addresses

We have a new server which we are using for mail (incl. smtp), we need to be able to make it so when a user logs in and loads mail (just like they would have done before) it finds their new email account as seamlessly as possible.
In a windows environment (*i know i heard the groan before i said it but thats the system i know*) i know exchange would force all of the new settings through to each user remotely. Does apple have a solution like this or are we really going to have to login as each user and setup their accounts for them. This would take literally weeks.
I'm pretty sure there is a way to do this, but i couldn't find any previous posts about it.... hope this is in the right place edit:now and i will be extremely grateful to anyone who can help me with this issue.
Other Info: Mac OSX server environment with approx 260 Macs on Tiger, Mail version 2.1 and over 900 users. 100 of whom have been transferred manually by setting the accounts up and entering settings in each of the users mail applications. each user is using roaming profiles so when it's done once it's done over the entire network.

Thanks for the feedback am trying to work on a script now but can't get enough info about applescript, There is a setting in workgroup manager which says email when it is activated and we type in the users email address it should be feeding through from the next logon. This isnt the case for some reason.
All mail is backed up and ready to reinstate if necessary, our other problem with documentation or any kind of user input is that we are a primary school with an entirely MAC network with only two technical support and i was based from a windows background...... *** to be us at the moment. lol
If this was exchange we'd just link to Active directory and be done with it.......

E-mail portlet - using OID user info

I am looking to write or re-use a portlet for sending e-mails.
I want the e-mail 'From' to be automatically populated by the Portal
user's definition in OID.
Is this information available through the Portal APIs ? The plsql API
wwsec_api.person_info looks in the Portal user table, which is no longer
populated as we use OID (right?).

Call Pickup - Users experience One Way Audio when using Call Pickup Orbit to pickup internal calls with internal Lync 2010 Callers

Noticed an issue where when using Call Park Function with users you receive one way audio when answering the call
The scenario is
1) If a user is internal and is homed on Lync 2010 Pool and calls an internal user who is homed on a Lync 2013 Pool and another internal user homed on a Lync 2013 Pool picks up the call with Call Pick Up orbit, Lync 2010 users only hears one way audio and
same for user who has picked up call
2) If the scenario is an External PSTN call or another Lync 2013 user these calls are fine
In Lync Tracing logs a SIP/2.0 481 Call Leg/Transaction Does Not Exist error is returned
Is this a known bug or expected behavior - Call Pickup is basically useless until all users are migrated to Lync 2013 as there is no way of a user knowing whether call is internal or external and if the user is on Lync 2010 or 2013, obviously in my
large organization 2000 users no an overnight thing
Coupled with the fact no Team Call Group\ Simultaneous Ring can be in place for Call Pickup to work im thinking Call Pick Up is not going to happen for awhile
