Call forms 5.0 from forms 6i

Hi,
I use FORMS 6i (RUNTIME) and need to call modules, compiled on FORMS 5.0. I
need to use RUN_PRODUCT (can not use HOST). How can I do it?

you'll have to use the host command to start an older version of the runtime.
Why don't you just upgrade the Forms 5 to Forms 6?

Use web.show_document instead of Run_Report_Object. If the jsp contains a paper layout you can still use Run_Report_Object, but you have to specify the filename extension .jsp along with the filename.

On the Web you can call the workbook with URL and parameters by using web.show_document in forms.

Use web.show_document for calling the reports. Check out forms online help for syntax and example of web.show_document.

How to call OAF standard page from form by passing parameters?

I have a requirement where I need to call a standard OAF page from Oracle form, I was able to call the page through personalization, but I also want to pass a parameter to the OAF page and query the OAF page using that parameter, could anyone please help?
Note: Under the forms personalization I wrote the below code for parameters

My requirement was calling the OAF page from standard form (menu), below are the steps that I followed,
1) Get the OAF page function name
2) Personalize the form, by calling the OAF page function
a) Function Code: Give the OAF function code
b) Parameter: Here pass the parameters
example: ='contractLineId='||:OKS_LINES.ID
Note: If you are calling from a custom form you can also try using fnd_function.execute to call the OAF page

How to call a web service from forms 9i

Hello all, I was trying to run the example on this website that shows how to call a webservice from forms, and I recieved an error. I am at the last step, where it tells me to create a button and add a when button pressed trigger. Here is the code I am using from the example:

It gives me an error on"Exception_.tostring" component must be declared. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am trying to figure out how to call an external WS from a form. Thanks.

IN forms Builder under Import java classes
Change the Import Classes field to java.lang.Exception and press Import. This will create a PL/SQL package for the Exception Java class. While this is not essential, it does make error reporting easier. Now press Close to dismiss the dialog.

Calling a Web Service from forms

I'm trying to call a web service from within forms (10gR2). I have generated a stub from the wsdl via jdeveloper, and imported the appropriate classes to my form. My problem is that the webservice requires 2 java objects passed to it. The first is a simply "row" structured object which is no problem, but the second object is an array of "record structures". I have created a pl/sql table of ora_java.jarray and populated the elements and rows of this table accordingly (using the java classes generated), but I have no knowledge of how to convert this pl/sql table to the java object that is to be passed to the web service. Could anyone propose a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The java generated provides the following classes
hdrobjuser1 which is a structure consisting of string, string, decimal, string, date, string (the first parameter of the webservice call),
dtlobjuser1 which is a structure consisting of string, string, decimal, string, string, string, decimal
dtlobj1 which is an array of dtlobjuser1 (the second parameter of the webservice call)
The problem is that I have methods to generate and populate both the hdrobjuser1 and dtlobjuser1 classes, but there is no method that I can use to create array elements within the dtlobj1 array

However, when I try to compile it, error prompt :-

Calling server side procedures from forms

Hi
I am trying to add a server side procedure to a form. The procedure is held in a package which resides on a remote database and I have set-up database links to this database.
When I run the form, calling the procedure, the oracle forms runtime session closes without displaying any error messages.
I have successfully called the procedure from database triggers in different databases.
Does anyone know whats going on?
I am using forms 5.0 with a oracle 7.3 database

RUN_PRODUCT built-in.
even though we can pass like
report=xyz.rep&destype=screen ....
If there is '&' in the paramtere value , how should we take
care of this. If any one knows solution, please let me know

Run Reports using Run_product tool by passing all the parameters
reqd. for your report and save it as a file in *.pdf format(
recommended) then call the saved report in WeB.Show_document
which will call your saved report .

Calling Reports on Web from Forms 6

Hi
The problem I have when I am calling Reports from Forms is, if I am calling 3 reports from the Forms the first report called is never shown in the browser while all the others are shown in the previewer.
Is there any property setting I am missing! Please Help!

hello,
please check the DESTYPE and DESFORMAT settings of the report that does not show up. if you do not pass these settings in you parameter-list the report uses the default values set in the report definition. if these are set to DESTYPE=FILE or PRINTER then the report never shows up.

How to use parameter forms with run_report_object from Forms?

Hi,
I would like to run a rep report from Forms 9i. I have 9iAS R2 with a rep_<maschine_name> report server.
Untill now I run reports with run_report_object and then used web_show_doc to display the PDF output. Now I have to display a parameter form first and only then can I run the report. Currently I am a bit lost and do not know how to do this? Could some one please point me to some examples or docs?

Forms not running from Forms Builder

I am trying to run forms module developed in Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2) by clicking on Run button (Green Traffic Light Icon) through Forms Builder. It then opens IE browser but doesn't display anything in the browser. All it displays is text 'ORACLE FORMS'. Also, funnily enough, in the address bar it shows the URL as http://127.0.0.1:1330/ and some long character junk string after that. e.g. http://127.0.0.1:1330/23939sdsfsldjwerlerwelj
I am wondering where does the Forms Builder picks up this IP address 127.0.0.1 as it is not the IP address of my PC.
However, if I run the same form by opening IE and entering the URL as http://hostname:8889/forms/frmservlet? , it is running the form perfectly.
I have also entered the same URL in Application Server URL by going into menu
Edit -> Preferences -> Runtime but still it doesn't help.
Any thoughts what's wrong with my Forms 10g ?

I am wondering where does the Forms Builder picks up this IP address 127.0.0.1 as it is not the IP address of my PC.It's your IP address of your Pc.
Check in your hosts file C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc and see if 127.0.0.1
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
This will have the effect of
# redirecting any requests to that host to your own computer

Hello,
It means that the user you are connected do not "see" this package.
You'd probably have to connect as SYS or SYSTEM, then grant EXECUTE on this package to your user.
