Call Manager Device Profile - Change Product Type

Does anyone know if you can change the product type in the device profile once it has been created.
Example: Profile was a 7960 now we want to migrate the profile to a 7962.
Thanks

Hi,
I don't see an option to do so, however you can check the 'Extension Mobility Equivalency' feature as it is quite useful in such scenarios:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_6_1/ccmfeat/fsgd-861-cm/fsem.html#wp1386088
Extension Mobility Equivalency
Cisco Extension Mobility (EM) equivalency eliminates the phone-model dependency of phone button templates. The following factors determine the model equivalency among the various phones:
•Various features that the phone models support
•Number of buttons that the phone models support
EM equivalency supports these features for the Cisco Unified IP Phones:
•Feature Safe on Phone Button Template—Phones can use any phone button template that has the same number of line buttons that the phone model supports.
•Size Safe on Phone Button Template—This feature allows the user to use any phone button template that is configured on the system.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager enhances the existing Extension Mobility (EM) equivalency mechanism to work across phone types as follows:
•Feature Safe on Phone Button Template—For both SCCP and SIP protocols, the following Cisco Unified IP Phone models support the Feature Safe feature: 7931, 7941, 7941G-GE, 7942, 7945, 7961G-GE, 7962, 7965, 7975. For the SIP protocol only, the following Cisco Unified IP Phone models support the Feature Safe feature: 8961, 9951, 9971.
Note Be aware that the Feature Safe on Phone Button Template feature does not support using an EM profile that is configured for a newer model on the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7960 or 7940.
•Size Safe on Phone Button Template—For both SCCP and SIP protocols, the following Cisco Unified IP Phone models support the Size Safe feature: 7906, 7911, 7931, 7941, 7941G-GE, 7942, 7945, 7961, 7961G-GE, 7962, 7965, 7975.

Is there a way that I can retrieve the name of the owner of a Cisco Call Manager device? I can retrieve back the IP address of the device or the device number("SEP"), but can I get the name of the owner device?

An executeSQLQuery with a query like SELECT LoginUserid FROM Device WHERE Name = '" + deviceName + "'" should do the trick. It'll give you the owner / logged in em user

  • User device profile change

    Hi,
I have a UDP created by 7911 phone type for 400 users, now we are changing the phones to 6945,
User will able to login (EM) without issues but  the problem is in 6945 phones but they will not get the additional "4" lines becz their UDP was created by 7911,
If i want to change the UDP type from 7911 to 6945 without changing the user setting is there any way
    OR
the only way is i have to export all UDP and their recreate a BAT file according to the exisitng setting of the users on the line and import in CUCM.
    Thanks

    Dear
    yes good hint,
I have migrated from 6.1 to 9.1 so the customer will go live with the existing data which has been brought forward from 6.1, when there are no issues with the back restore than only he will delete the old phones and old udp,
so the alternate solution is to add some common name in each UDP for example,          old udp name is abc then new udp name will abc_new,
when i will delete the old udp then i can rename the abc_new to abc i hope it will not effect the settings and the login of the user.
    please confirm
    thanks

  • Call Manager and AD authentication

We change our AD administrator passwords periodically. We recently had callmgr 4.1 installed on our servers. We can't login to the Administration pages of call manager since we changed the AD admin password. How do I fix this?

When you install the Active Directory plugin for CallManager, you must supply a user account with certain read privilegs to AD. This user account is used to bind to AD and check for valid credential sets when you login to CallManager via MLA, CCMUser etc etc.
So, if you change the password for the account which CallManager uses to bind to AD w/, it breaks.
You're not completely out of luck though. When you install MLA, you configure an account with full admin access that you can use at any point that does not authenticate against AD. Most of the time this account is ccmadministrator and the local administrator password of the box, but could have been altered during install. Refer to the following doc for more detailed info: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/4_1/sys_ad/4_1_3/ccmcfg/b07mla.htm.
Moving forward, I'd recommend creating a service account (denied interactive login to any boxes on your network) for the sole purpose of CallManager binding to LDAP. Make the password complex, mark it never to expire, user can't change, and you shouldn't have to change the password in the future.
    Hope this helps!

  • Product type 56A-Posn cash flows Sec Acc Class-Calculation stops after 2017

    Hi All
I created product type 56A with a security class ID repaying finally in January 2020 & with interest conditions of 5.5% throughout. But I see the position cash flows in FTR_EDIT for that product type only showing interest flows till 2017 instead of till 2020.
Is there anything that I need to do to get this calculated till repayment date?
I checked my calendar & it is active till 2050 for the currency USD.  My company codes local currency is USD.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Morgan

    Hi All
This reply may not wholely relate to your issue, but we faced similar issue with Securities - Debentures, we had created the transaction till 2020 but the we were able to see the flows only till 2014, later when we checked with SAP, they gave us the solution that under following config we need to maintaine blank or zero in the field CM period (Cash Mgn.), then it worked.
    The path is
    IMG->Financial Supply Chain Management->Treasury and Risk Management->Transaction Manager->Securities->Master Data->Product Types>Define Company Code-Dependent Settings for the Product Type.
Also we had to run tcode FWUP for the particular transaction and then check with tcode TPM13 to check whether flows exits.

  • Remove device and profile from call manager

Is there any documentation on how to remove phones and EM, RDP, CSF profiles from call manager in order to free up some licensing??

EM does not take any licenses, but the way you want to do this (assuming all associations are correct and dependencies would prevent you from doing it anyway):
    delete UDP
    delete CSF device
    delete RDP
    delete desk phone

  • Is it possible to separate call forward unregistered & busy on a device profile?

I've got the following situation cropping up a surprising amount at our site:
User has 2 jobs within our institution. Works 3 days a week on job 1, 2 days on job 2. Each job is billed to a different cost centre, and the user doesn't want to be getting calls for job 1 when they're supposed to be working on job 2, and vice versa.
As such, we've created them 2 device profiles. When they log into the phone at the desk of whichever job they're currently working, they get prompted for which profile they want to log in to. The other device profile (if still logged in to the phone on the desk of the other job) is then forcibly logged out.
When profile 1, for job 1, is logged in, but the user is already on a call, they want incoming calls to that extension to be directed to their voicemail (i.e. set Call Forward Busy [Internal|External] to send to voicemail). They can then check voicemail and follow up on the call as soon as they're off the current one.
When profile 1/job 1 is logged *out*, i.e. they're currently working job 2, they want incoming calls to job 1's extension to be immediately diverted to a colleage within the same job 1 team.
I thought I could do this by utilising Call Forward Unregistered [Internal|External], but this does not seem to be the case. When a device profile is not logged in to a device it seems like the busy trigger just gets treated as 0 so the value of Call Forward Busy is followed. I can't see any situation where Call Forward Unregistered is ever utilised if an extension is only associated with a device profile.
Is there any way to do what I want (without massively convoluted configuration on Call Manager)? If not, do people think this is worth raising as a feature request (or bug in expected behaviour) for later versions of Call Manager?
We're currently on CUCM 8.5, FYI, in case this is something that's already been updated in version 9 or later.

Some progress on second idea. Saved a copy of universal access plist with cursor set to large then set the cursor to small again. Replacing the plist file had no effect until I went into the UA pane and changed a setting at which point it must rewrite the file and refresh because the cursor size also changed at this point.
Tried the same again and restarted Finder, no effect. Also tried altering another pref pane instead with no effect. Need a way to force the computer to look at the plist files, no idea how though. :-)

  • Call manager and type of Voip phones

Just wanted to thank everyone for the help.
My background is Telepresence and minimal on Call Manager 8.
Just wanted to ask if I can somehow pull a list of all type of phones connected to the call manager - we currently have 7942 and 7975. I need the list which phone number is using which type of phone.

    Hi Mark,
    Here are 3 suggestions:
    1) Goto Device > Phone, add the 'Directory Number' and 'Device Type' as search criteria and click 'Find'. This is limited as it can't be exported.
    2) Run the following SQL Query:
SELECT d.name, n.dnorpattern, dn.numplanindex, m.name as Model FROM numplan AS n JOIN devicenumplanmap AS dn ON n.pkid=dn.fknumplan JOIN device AS d ON d.pkid=dn.fkdevice JOIN typemodel AS m ON d.tkmodel=m.enum JOIN typeclass AS c ON d.tkclass=c.enum WHERE c.name="Phone" ORDER BY m.name, d.name, dn.numplanindex
    3) Use a 3rd Party product to extract and export the required data such as PhoneView from UnifiedFX
PhoneView is the most advanced endpoint management product available including the ability to gather extensive device/user information and then interact and export that data.

  • Aging out user profiles in Call Manager

If a user profile is deleted in AD what is the length of time before that user is “aged out” / removed from the CUCM and CUC user DB?
Is there a difference between how it works in 4.1 with Cisco Customer Directory Configuration Plug In vs. LDAP Synchronization in later version?
My understanding is that in 4.1 the Plug In extends AD database to Call Manager and it is not embedded in Call Manager as it is in 5.0 and later. Not sure how that plays on removing users from CUCM through synchronization.
Additionally, my understanding is when a user profile is removed from AD, it gets flagged during Synchronization and that could take a minimum of 6 hours after sync for the user profile to be removed in CUCM or whatever the synchronization is scheduled to.

    Oli,
It all depends on your sync frequency. If you remove users from AD, CUCM will mark them as "delete pending".
CUCM garbage collector will rip these out 24 hrs later.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_configuration_example09186a0080a57c4c.shtml
Every night at 3.15 am, an internal process called the Garbage Collector service runs. This process permanently deletes any account that has been in the
Inactive – Delete Pending state for over 24 hours. The Cisco Unified Communications Manager does not sync Active Directory passwords. Cisco Unified Communications Manager has no knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory encryption mechanism. Instead, in Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5.0, a default password of ciscociscoand a default PIN of 12345are assigned.
    cheers
