Call Specs for Java Classes

I have loaded some interdependent java classes in Oracle
successfully, Not sure about how to write call specs for
these as one method of class A needs an object of class B as
input parameter.
TIA
PM

A silly thought just occurred to me. Wouldn't it be
great to have a dictionary of baby names for java
classes? I sometimes have a hard time coming up with
a name for a new class. You know, something other
r than Foo. Be great if I could just look up some
suggestions for the kind of thing I'm doing...okay
back to work. What? I'd rather have a name which is related to what the class does. It doesn't make sense to call e.g. a Date class Jim.

  • Calling Custom XSLT java class from BPEL in SOA Suite 11g

    Hi All,
Morning...need some help with this issue...we are currently on SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.4) version.
Earlier while we were on SOA Suite version 10g (10.1.3.3) we were calling the custom java classes from the xsl mapping for complex transformation and for this we were placing the .class file as .jar file at the location mentioned here $OC4J_HOME/j2ee/home/applib directory and then mentioning the namespace as http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/{$classname$} in the XSLT mapping file.
Now in SOA Suite 11g if we need to retain similar functionality for external custom java calls could someone please help us where do we need to put the .jar file now ..
exactly at which directory location/path and on which instance/server (application server instance or middle tier instance ) we need to put this .jar file
Currently we are stuck and need some help with this.
    With thanks & Regards

    Hi Eric & Anuj,
Thanks for replying , sorry for checking on this now...
    here at this path /opt101/app/oracle/SOAD/SOA11gR1/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1
we got the ora.soa.ext.jar file and extracted it to get the MANIFEST.mf file ..have mentioned below.
Now if we need to link our custom .jar file named customfunctions.jar so we need to mention it as below is this correct :
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.7.1
    Created-By: 17.0-b17 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Implementation-Vendor: Oracle
    Implementation-Title: Oracle SOA EXT
    Implementation-Version: 11.1.1
    Product-Name: Oracle SOA EXT
    Product-Version: 11.1.1.4.0
    Specification-Version: 11.1.1
    Extension-Name: oracle.soa.ext
    Class-Path: classes/
Class-Path:customfunctions.jar classes/ -- is this the way to mention (means we need to add this additional line or we need to add to the existing line at Class-Path: classes/)
    2.
Eric the Alternative method mentioned in your update :
Open a command prompt and change the current directory to the oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1 directory ,
then execute the build.xml file in the oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1 folder using Ant
Now could someone please guide us regards this ANT means how does it work and its relation to the build.xml file and how do we check whether we have ANT utility available or not..
not much conversant with this ANT hence asking here..would lookout for your reply
    thank you

    Hi gimbal2,

can u help me regarding that....
Thanks in advanceI wonder how that would work then. Let's take a fictive example. You have a class com.mycompany.myapp.Foo. This would mean that the class is stored in some directory like this:
c:/webrootdir/myapp/WEB-INF/classes/com/mycompany/myapp/Foo.classTo be able to run such a class from the commandline using Java, you would have to invoke this command:
java -cp c:/webrootdir/myapp/WEB-INF/classes com.mycompany.myapp.FooHow would knowing the exact path to this class help you?

  • How do I call a simple java class from a bpel process?

    Hi.
In JDeveloper 10.1.4.3.0 I've created a simple java class that does an ftp get operation followed by an unzip. The class uses some 3rd part libraries (jars).
I want to use a simple bpel process to schedule a daily execution of this java class, and deploy it all to our SOA-server, - and was looking into using the <bpelx:exec> function.
The java class and the bpel process is all stored in the same JDeveloper project.
How do I put this together so that both my java class and the necessary jars are available to the bpel process?
I've looked into the JavaExecSample.bpel, and it's says something about "...the class com.otn.samples.javaexec.CreditCalculator is locally packaged with this BPEL process".
    How do I do that?
Can I make it and test it all locally from my workstation (only JDeveloper installed, I guess there's nothing that can execute the bpel code?), or do I have to compile class etc (make war-file?) and deploy to SOA server (BPEL-INF/lib or classes?) before anything can be tested?
(I guess all this is simple, once you know how, but being a newbie to this I need a shove in the right direction :-)
    Regards,
    -Haakon-

To create a java class and dependent jars inside the BPEL process project you need to do the following:
    1. Right click on your BPEL process project and select New and then Java Class from the Items.
    2. Make the BPEL process project, JDeveloper would compile the java classes and add them into the BPEL suite case jar, see the output folder and check the BPEL suite case jar file for java classes and dependent jars.
You can test your Java classes from JDeveloper IDE, no need to deploy the classes on SOA server. When you make the BPEL project it compiles .bpel files and Java classes. You can test your classes once .bpel file and java classes compiled successfully.

  • {@inheritDoc} not working for Java Classes

    Hello,
i am using {@inheritDoc} for inherting super class's JavaDoc for a perticular function..
It is working, if super class is my own class. i am able to see all JavaDoc in child class.
But when i use {@inheritDoc} for extending JavaDoc of java class it is not working.
    i.e. if i am writing {@inheritDoc} in public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) method..
    It wont show any javadoc..
How to add it? Do i need to give source of java classes too???
And if it is Yes, then where to specifiy. and where to find source of Java classes, do they come with JDK? or NetBeans?? (If yes then where it is in JDK or Netbeans???)
    Thanks,
    Nachiket.

Yes, you need to have the Java source, with the -sourcepath option, as described here:
Inheriting Comments from J2SE - Your code can also automatically inherit comments from interfaces and classes in the J2SE. You can do this by unzipping the src.zip file that ships with the SDK (it does not contain all source files, however), and add its path to -sourcepath. When javadoc runs on your code, it will load the doc comments from those source files as needed. For example, if a class in your code implements java.lang.Comparable, the compareTo(Object) method you implement will inherit the doc comment from java.lang.Comparable.

If you want the full Java source get it from here:

MatthiasThis is not very pretty, so I think you should redessign, but you can open a URLConnection from your class pointing to the URL of the servlet. As far as I know you can't invoke a servlet directly, because you can't get a reference to it, it can only be invoked by the container...

  • Java Program in MDM to call a standard java class

    Hi All,
In MDM- GDS, (Global Data Synchronization), we have a scenario where, once we register the Items , it will be transported to a Data Pool called 1SYNC through SAP PI.
There is a standard Java PRoxy(Kind of java Class) in MDM, which will be triggered once we register the Item in MDM-GDS.
That Java Proxy will send the Item INfo as a XML message to PI.
So we would like to know whether its possible to automate this process.
Like,Writing a new Java Program which will check all the new items and trigger the Java Proxy and send these items as XML Messages to PI.
I m new to MDM. So it would be really helpful, If i could get some inputs on this. Like, is it possible in MDM. If so, how?

    Aarthi,
you can acheive this from MDM itself, and need not to write any Java proxy.
    you may consider following logic.
Create a field with the Name Status and Initilize it with Value "new". Now define syndicaiton Map to syndicate records which holds value "new" in the status field.  define a workflow with syndication step, using maps defined earlier. After syndication step, execute an assignment to change Status field value from "New" to "Syndicated".
    Revert back if any question.

  • Circular reference calling the ImportFileGeneratorTask java class

    Hello,
I am facing an issue when I generate in my build.xml the import file with the ImportFileGeneratorTask java class:
Unable to sort files due to circular reference: ROLE-R_ALL_G_T_USER.xml -> ROLE-BR_ALL_G_T_USER.xml -> ROLE-R_ALL_G_T_USER.xmlIt occurs in the ObjectDependencySort java class because a Business Role contains an IT Role.

you can just get rid of the ParentRoles tag in every Role. This does make the circular reference to disappear and roles are still contained in each other correctly as far as I tested it.
