Call to ECC table from BI

I have this routine in a BI transformation routine
select single CONTACTNAME INTO RESULT FROM THREIC_CONTACT WHERE CONT_GUID =
source-system-cont-guid.
Error : THREIC_CONTACTNAME not recognised
Any ideas how to call the table.

BI and ECC are different systems. You can not just call the table from outside of the BI system that way.
What you can do is simply:
create one datasource in your ECC system using THREIC_CONTACTNAME table.
Then load data to an ODS or some master data.
Now, you can refer to the table ( active data table of the ODS, or P/Q/X/Y tables of the master data) and use select statement.
Another possible way can be, if you are trying to write this routine for some data you extract from ECC, you can enhance your datasource to make this control in R3 side.
May be Guru's have another idea.

In your case, the idea is to call a java class inside the xslt mapping. So to access the ECC table, you can use a Java Mapping Class so that it would be easier to implement an RFC lookup.

Error while connecting to ECC tables from Crystal

I am trying to create a crystal report on the SAP ECC tables directly, when I try to create a new connection from u201CSAP Table, Cluster, or Functionu201D option in crystal reports 2008 I get this error" Logon Failed. Details: you don't have necessary rights to design reports against the SAP system. please contact your administrator"
Now my question is where are my rights missing, is it on BO side or SAP side, I see that I have access to SAP tables when I try to logon through the SAP logon pad it works, I could see the tables.
Please let me know your thoughts.

part of the ABAP Transports from the SAP Integration Kit are also specific authorization objects. Take a look at the Installation guide for the SAP Integration Kit in the appendix.

Data Reflection in ECC table from CRM table

Dear All,
I have two Z tables. One in CRM and the other is in ECC with the same structure.
I want the data to be transferred in ECC table whenever there is a new entry created in CRM table.
For Eg : If I create an entry say XYZ in CRM table either through SM30 or through a upload program then same entry XYZ should be entered in ECC table the moment I save the entry in CRM table.
Please let me know the possible ways to achiev this. Its a bit urgent for me.

Actually we are accessing an Application Type CONTDURA in our IPC User Exit, we have overrided the
overwriteScaleBase method of ScaleBaseFormulaAdapter class.
in the mentioned method we are getting the value of CONTDURA application type like this.
also as you mentioned we have already populated this attribute in BADI CRM_COND_COM_BADI.

While debugging we found out that instead of CONTACT DURATION, blank String is returned.

How to call Multiple Decision Table from another Function ?

I have requirement where depending on a value of a variable I need to call Different Decision tables .
Example :
If value 1

otherwise if value 2
go to decision table 2
I am not finding a way to do it .

Send data to ECC table through RFC Call function from SAP B1 via b1if

I have created scenario in B1if which triggers from SAP B1, now I have to send this data in to ECC table, so I have created scenario for that with inbound SAP B1, outbound void and in process RFC Call atom is there but I am not getting data in receiver and also how to write xml to send data in RFC function. Function for RFC has configured from ECC end and have access of that function.
So please help me to send data to ECC table through RFC Call function from SAP B1 (9.0) via b1if

HEllo Experts,
This is my first time in ccBPM and require your expertise in gaining some insights onto calling an RFC FM using ccBPM.
I am typically implementing the scenario as it is mentioned in this blog: /people/mitesh.parekh/blog/2008/12/01/receiving-aleaud-as-acknowledgment-in-ccbpm in order to generate acknowledgements from ECC.
I have created the IR and ID and I am successfully able to exceute the BPM till step2. Step 3 is the ABAP mapping part for which i have specified teh required properties and Operation mapping too.
My concern is that how do i proceed from Step 4 i,e how do i trigger this RFC call to ECC and receive it in BPM again?

I am developing a scenario which looks like this MDM ->PI ( BPM) -> ECC.

I am posting MATMAS from MDM which is received in first step(receive step) of this BPM.
2nd step (Send step - BPM) will send this MATMAS05 Idoc to ECC and Pi will have a message id generated for this message.
3rd step of BPM (ABAP mapping) - which will read the actual PI Idoc number from system tables based on the message id from step 2.
4th step: Idoc number retrieved is to be sent in the requset message of RFC ZALEAUD4XI.
5th step: Response of ZALEAUD4XI RFC is to be received in PI and sent for further processing.
Do i need a mapping between the requset output of ABAP mapping and the input RFC requset message of step4?

How to call a ECC 6 Function module from BI 7 process chain

Hi BI Gurus
I wann to push the data from infocube to ECC 6 ( Tcurr) table on a daily basis, and we have a function module written in ABAP and this FM is in ECC 6 sytem and we need to call this function module from BI inorder to update the TCURR table.
I used ABAP programm in Process chain but i failed as i dint see any functionality for FM. i could see only abap programm.
I need any you advise on this.

Character conversion problems when calling FM via RFC from Unicode ECC 6.0?

Hi all,
I faced a Cyrillic character convertion problem while calling an RFC function from R/3 ECC 6.0 (initialized as Unicode system - c.p. 4103). My target system is R/3 4.6C with default c.p. 1500.
The parameter I used in my FM interface in target system is of type CHAR10 (single-byte, obviously).
I have defined rfc-connection (SM59) as an ABAP connection and further client/logon language/user/password are supplied.
The problem I faced is, that Cyrillic symbols are transferred as '#' in the target system ('#' is set as default symbol in RFC-destination definition in case character convertion error is met).
Checking convertions between c.p. 4103 and target c.p. 1500 in my source system using tools of transaction i18n shows no errors - means conversion passed O.K. It seems default character conversion executed by source system whithin the scope of RFC-destination definition is doing something wrong.
Further, I played with MDMP & Unicode settings whithin the RFC-destination definition with no successful result - perhaps due to lack of documentation for how to set and manage these parameters.
The question is: have someone any experience with any conversion between Unicode and non-Unicide systems via RFC-call (non-English target obligatory !!!), or can anyone share valuable information regarding this issue - what should be managed in the RFC-destination in order to get character conversion working? Is it acceptable to use any character parameter in the target function module interface at all?

I had a similar experience. I was interfacing between 4.6 (RFC), PI and ECC 6.0 (ABAP Proxy). When data was passed from ECC to 4.6, RFC received them incorrectly. So i had to send trimmed strings from ECC and receive them as strings in RFC (esp for CURR and QUAN fields). Also the receiver communication channel in PI (between PI and RFC) had to be set as Non unicode. This helped a bit. But still I am getting 2 issues, truncation of values and some additional digits !! But the above changes resolved unwanted characters problem like "<" and "#". You can find a related post in my id. Hope this info helps..

Extracting data from ECC tables in BODS

Hello all,
I'm trying to extract data from ECC tables. I have created a data store and imported the necessary tables(FAGLFLEXT) that i will be using. I have used the table in a job as a source and tried to execute the job but i was only able to extract 28 records from the extractor when there are many more records present in the table and also when i view the data in BODS i can only see 28 records.
Plz help me in resolving this. How to extract the whole data?

The table layouts can be found in the [documentation for EPMA|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-data-models-11121-354684.zip] . If this doesn't work, there are other options to export hierarchies to text files. You can use life cycle management or the [EPMA File Generator|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epma_file_gen_user/launch.html].

Calling a local Webservice from ECC ABAP - Am I on the right track?

In my NW2004s landscape I have an ECC system (ABAP 6.40, Java not configured/linked) and an XI system (6.40). My requirement is to call a Webservice (WS) from the ECC system.
I've converted an existing Java class (that contains 3 methods) to a webservice (WS) using NWDS. This WS has then been deployed to the XI system as it is the only one with a JAVA system. I'm able to view and test the WS methods using the Web Service Navigator on the XI system. The wsdl for the WS that was generated has the following format "http://<server>:<port>/<webservice name>/<configuration name>?wsdl (No .asmx extension as per most of the examples on SDN...not sure if this matters).
My understanding is that I should be able to create a client proxy in my ECC system (via Enterprise Services in SE80) using this wsdl and I can also configure a logical port throught txn LPCONFIG. I should then be able to utilise ABAP to call this webservice?
I've found the blog "/people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/11/17/bsp-a-developers-journal-part-xiv--consuming-webservices-with-abap detailing this (for a 6.40 system)... but when I attempt the program I get a soap 111 error code Unallowed RFC-XML Tag(SOAP_EINVALDOC).
Am I on the right track? Is it possible to call the Webservice from ECC ABAP?
There are no dumps for me to analyse and I've also tried putting on RFC trace with no success.
Could it be that the WS is not correctly formed even though it works fine when tested from the WS Navigator on the XI system?

Hi,
There's a remote-enabled function module (think it's either RFC_READ_TABLE or RFC_TABLE_READ) which you can pass a table name, some selection criteria and a list of fields to be returned. That should allow you to read those table entries from the remote system.

How to access data from SAP Tables from a Webi report

I have a webi report for financial data and from a Bex query which is build on a Cube (this has data from 2 SAP ECC systems)
i want to build a functionality where in i can call some SAP Table data from this webi report. i should be able to pass information or some hard code where it can understand the source system it has to pick data from.
in SAP BI, we have this ption wherein we can achieve this through RRI..
is this possible in Webi ?

Create a universe on top of SAP Tables and create a webi report.
Using hyper link /open doc we can call this report from the webi report created on top of your Cube .
