Callbacks help.

I am kinda iffy on what callbacks actually are, and I would like some verification to see if I am thinking correctly.
Definition: 'Master' class that can use the code of a 'slave' class by implementing a 'listener' when an action is made.
Heres some random code to see if i get the idea:
Listener:
public interface listener
public abstract void message(String msg);
Slave:
public class 'slave' implements 'listener'
something.addListener(this);
public vod message(String e)
if (e.equalsIgnoreCase("Something"));
do something here
Master:
public class Master
listener listens;
public void addListener(listener h)
listens = h;
public void something()
listens.message("Something");
}

That's one way.
But it's usual to allow multiple listeners, to supply you "Master" class with addXXXListener, removeXXXListener. Classes.
e.g.
class Master {
     ArrayList  snafuListeners;
    public void addSnafuListener(SnafuListener l) {
       if(snafuListeners == null) snafuListeners = new ArrayList(3);
       snafuListeners.add(l);
   public void removeSnafuListener(SnafuListener l) {
        if(snafuListeners != null)
           snafuListeners.remove(l);
    protected void fireSnafuListeners(SnafuEvent evt) {
         if(snafuListeners != null)
            for(Iterator it = snafuListeners.iterator(); it.hasNext();)
               ((SnafuLIstner)it.next()).message(evt);
         }It's also very common to use small, anonymous classes as listeners, which allows your code to respond differently to the same event type from different sources. e.g.
master1.addSnafuListener(new SnafuListener() {
    public void message(SnafuEvent e) {
         master1Snafued();
     });

  • OO4O and AQ Callback - Help

    Am using AQ (8.1.6). Looking for information on how to implement the callback functionality in VB 6.0...Documentation says that this possible but have found few examples...Have everything else working fine..
    Ron Music

    You have to implement a COM interface in your application (or your own OLE object) that exposes the NotifyMe interface as described in the docs. You then use the MonitorStart method to have the object called asynchronously. If memory serves, the interface was:
    void NotifyMe(LPDISPATCH)
    and the LPDISPATCH pointer was a reference to an OraAQMsg object which contained the message payload.
    Suppose you created your own COM object that exposed this interface and called it MyNotify. You then do something like this:
    Dim MyQ as OraAQ
    Dim Notifier as MyNotify
    Dim DB as OraDatabase
    Dim OraS as Object
    . 'Connect to the RDBMS and init the session (code ommitted for brevity)
    Set MyQ = DB.CreateAQ("TEST")
    Set Notifier = new MyNotify
    MyQ.MonitorStart(Notifer)
    Then your object will have the NotifyMe method invoked as messages are dequeued.

  • Need help: Using JMS to callback a client.

    Hi everyone,
    I'm having a very frustrating problem. I'm just started to use JMS to overcome callback
    problem with EJBs. I simply want my EJB to send something (pub/sub) to my client so it
    can update some display. I first instantiate my Client and TopicConnection etc. etc. then
    create the EJB, invoke it and the EJB sends some TextMessage back. However, the TextMessage
    never seems to arrive at my Client. The TextListener never seems to deliver.
    Here's the snippet:
    EJB:
    private void createPublisher() {
    try {
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    System.out.println("Server looking up JMS Service");
    TopicConnectionFactory conFtry = (TopicConnectionFactory) ctx.lookup("java:com
    p/env/jms/MobiDTopicConnectionFactory");
    topic = (Topic) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jms/TopicName");
    con = conFtry.createTopicConnection();
    session = con.createTopicSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    publisher = session.createPublisher(topic);
    TextMessage mesg = session.createTextMessage();
    System.out.println("Server is sending message, see anything?");
    mesg.setText("This is from publisher");
    publisher.publish(mesg);
    // Exception catching stuff snipped.
    public void ejbCreate() { createPublisher(); }
    Client:
    public void createSubscriber() {
    try {
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    TopicConnectionFactory conFtry = (TopicConnectionFactory) ctx.lookup("java:com
    p/env/jms/MobiDTopicConnectionFactory");
    Topic topic = (Topic) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jms/TopicName");
    con = conFtry.createTopicConnection();
    session = con.createTopicSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    subscriber = session.createSubscriber(topic);
    subscriber.setMessageListener(new TextListener());
    con.start();
    System.out.println("Connection started");
    // Exception stuff snipped.
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    try {
    ConverterClient cc = new ConverterClient();
    cc.createSubscriber();
    System.out.println("Subscriber is ready");
    Context initial = new InitialContext();
    System.out.println("Looking up the bean...");
    Object ref = initial.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/SimpleConverter");
    System.out.println("Getting the home interface");
    ConverterHome home = (ConverterHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ref,
    ConverterHome.class);
    Converter conv = home.create();
    double amount = conv.dollarToYen(100.00);
    InputStreamReader inputStreamReader = new InputStreamReader(System.in);
    char answer = '\0';
    while (!((answer == 'q') || (answer == 'Q'))) {
    try {
    answer = (char) inputStreamReader.read();
    } catch (IOException e) {
    System.out.println("I/O exception: "
    + e.toString());
    Can anyone spot what's wrong with the code? I've been trying to get this to work for the
    past two days but to no avail. Please help...
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi, thanks for all your reply.
    The TextListener is the one downloaded from this website in the
    tutorial but I used it in different program. Here's the TextListener:
    public void onMessage(Message message) {
    System.out.println("Receiving message in onMessage()");
    TextMessage msg = null;
    try {
    if (message instanceof TextMessage) {
    msg = (TextMessage) message;
    System.out.println("Reading message: " +
    msg.getText());
    } else {
    System.out.println("Message of wrong type: " +
    message.getClass().getName());
    } catch (JMSException e) {
    System.out.println("JMSException in onMessage(): " +
    e.toString());
    } catch (Throwable t) {
    System.out.println("Exception in onMessage():" +
    t.getMessage());
    Strangely, this does not work as it never print the message. Can't see what's
    wrong from a glance though and I'm not getting any error message whatsoever.
    However, I tried my own listener:
    static class MyListener implements MessageListener {
    public MyListener() { }
    public void onMessage(Message msg) {
    try {
    System.out.println("Message received: " + ((TextMessage) msg).getText())
    catch(JMSException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); }
    And this works...I just don't get it. MyListener is a static because I used it in my main().
    Anyone can give any comment?
    thanks,

  • Web Service "callback" setting using setEndPoint - help

    Hi,
    I developed an asynchronous WEB service on a "workshop development machine" WLW8.1
    and then deployed it on a (test) production server" WLS8.1 (workshop enabled!).
    All tests run correctly on the development machine and callbacks are done on http://localhost:7001.
    Fine , but when the WEB service is deployed on the production server it will be
    accessed on -let us say-
    http://productionserver:7001/WebService/test/Service.jws?.EXPLORE=.TEST
    Callbacks should be set to access the external test client.
    I can have access to the WSDL file on the production server from a test client.
    But tests done from the client using the XMLSPY WebService/WSDL test interface
    failed.
    The callback is not working from the production server. I suspect the callback
    URI is not correct and cannot be used as on the Workshop. I see in the workshop
    development environment that the callback is done on: 'http://TESTUI' .
    Questions :
    1- can we change this http://TESTUI using the setEndPoint (URL url) method ?
    2- How can I use the ServiceControl interface setEndPoint (URL url) to set the
    callback in a (JAVA) testClient ? I don't intend to generate a .NET client for
    this test, but need to create a simple JAVA client (build with a third party WSDL
    proxy generator).
    3- Any example available? I read the article "Conversing with non-workshop client"
    but I don't find any practical implementation help.
    Thanks for any help or indication.

    Yves

    Hello,
    You might take a look at this section of the release notes and see if
    this is of some value in your situation:

  • UCCX Callback script help

    Hi Guys,
    My first foray into IPCC based scripting and I've run into a few problems.
    Firstly, what I'm trying to do, is allow a user to press a button during during the queue process, which then allows them to manually input their call back number.
    Once an agent becomes available, the system calls the agent and the callback number and connects them..
    I've attached the script that I'm working with, and the log file.
    What I'm seeing is, I can get one call queued, and it works fine, the agent comes online, the system calls the agent prompts them to initiate the callback (press any key) and then connects them to the user.
    When I have multiple callbacks in the queue I get the "Narky Lady" informing me we have system problems. This happens to all the queued callbacks.
    The second part is I'm getting "Event queue time exceeded" and the call is being dropped out of the queue after the callback has been queued.
    I'm running CUCM 7.0.1.11000-2 & UCCX 7.0(1)_Build168
    Any help would be appreciated, or if someone could point me to a working example?
    Thanks

    There are several items that could be causing the issue. I'm assuming that the Place Call step is calling a route point and ultimately a script that is placing the call in queue.
    How many sessions do you have available for this second queue application?
    Prior to your Place Call step, you need to dequeue the call and terminate the original call leg.
    Remove the Set Contact Info step from the Wait For Agent section.
    I'm not sure why you have the Play Prompt after the call has been connected. I would play the caller in the Get Digit String under the Wait For Agent section.
    Those changes should get this to work as long as my original assumptions are correct.
    You may want to consider some additional factors in your next revision of this script:
    -What if an agent hangs up on the queue callback request? You can use the On Exception Goto and catch the ContactInactiveException to work around this issue.
    -You will need to handle the busy, invalid, and unsuccessful nodes in the Call Redirect step. I would suggest creating a loop and having it requeue the call again up to 3 times.
    -When you get the callback number, make sure to get 7 or 10 digits depending on your requirements. You amy also need to prepend a 1 to those numbers outside of your local area codes.
    -This script may be strange for agents to handle because they don't have the name of the caller. You could have the caller record their name and play it in the callback loop with the phone number.

  • Help me! Use CallBack in Outbound at UCCE

    Hello everybody. I want to know how can I enable the call back button, because i started an outbound campaign and everything as well, but i don't know how to use the callback utility.
    I read the official outbound guide from cisco, but i don't know how to enable the callback. When the outbound call arrives, i accept the call but the calllback button still disable.
    I tryied to see in Cisco Administrator Desktop but didn't help.
    Anyone can help me?

    Hi,
    the call must be established with the customer in order to have the Callback functionality available.
    If you have preview campaigns, it means: first the reservation call arrives. Accept it. The system will dial the customer. Customer picks it up. You talk. Then you may be able to shcedule a callback.

  • PLEASE HELP on how retrieve async callback

    Hi all,
    I have some question on calling and retrieving results from BPEL processes
    First of all I would like to know the meaning of http://set.by.caller written on service port in the WSDL's process.
    Why can I see these info (service & binding) only after deploy, and not in design phase?
    And above all, how can I set it and use? How can I redirect the result of a process to a service, I've read on Dev Guide that it is possible, but i've found nowhere how!!!
    I've implemented a service and then I've invoked my process through a java client, inserting in the header MessageID and ReplyTo as specified by WS-Addressing, but the process seems to ignore it!!
    Furthermore I've seen in 113.ABCARouting example an operation "receive" on WSDL's process, I've attempted to do the same thing and then to call that port using a java class, but i get a Fault as a result,
    <faultcode>soapenv:Server.generalException</faultcode>
    <faultstring>Cannot find binding operation definition of soapAction 'receive' in http://...
    no binding for receive operation. But it works in 113.ABCARouting, where is the sorcery?!
    Thanks in advanced for help... I really need

  • Help with callback from script src= with jsp processing

    I am trying to understand several different ways to get dynamic content into a system I am building. These include:
    1. <script tags to fetch text from a jsp page
    2. <img to fetch images from a jsp page
    3. AJAX to fetch text from a jsp page.
    (In all cases, the jsp pages will eventually get the data from a MySql database, but right now I am using static code.)
    I am having a problem understanding how to use the <script option.
    I am starting with an html page with a javascript callback function and a <script with the callback passed as a parameter. The callback function is based on a sample that I found that works, but I don't have the code for the called jsp page.

       baos.writeTo(os);
       os.close();
       System.out.println("TestWS1.jsp: done");
    %>When I run TestWS1.jsp, I get the expected entries in the system log and the expected output:
    "TestWS1: This is the returned string as HTML <br> This can be any HTML code.<br>"However, when I run the TestWS1Call.html, I get the entries in the system log but nothing fires the javascript function.
    What am I missing?
    Thank you

    I found a solution to loading dynamic content using the <script src= tag.
    This approach seems to be useful (a) for situations in the jsp content is dependent on client-side characteristics
    (such as window size) and (b) because it seems to work on any browser with javascript and does not require an
    ActiveX for older versions of IE.
    I wrapped the output of the jsp page inside a javascript call to the callback function
       ps.println(callback+"(\"TestWS1: This is the returned string as HTML <br> This can be any HTML code.<br>\")");I also changed the content type to javascript.
       response.setContentType("text/javascript");Now, when the script tag is found, the jsp page returns a javascript function call to the callback function and passes
    the desired content as a single parameter. The callback function then places the content in the appropriate
    location on the page.

  • Help with bootstrap callback function

    Hi,
    I've designed a basic animation and I'm trying to edit the html file using the js.
    The code I've used is:
    AdobeEdge.bootstrapCallback(function(compId){
        $('body').css('height','10000px').append('<p>debug</p>');
    It isn't working.
    Any suggestions why?

    Hi,
    You can try: sym.$("body").css(...
    If you want to know what happens:
    try {
    AdobeEdge.bootstrapCallback(function(compId){
    $('body').css('height','10000px').append('<p>debug</p>');
    catch(error){ alert( error.toString() ) }; // or: catch(error){ console.log( error.toString() ) };

  • JVMTI ClassLoad callback function help

    Hi, In my ClassLoad function I'm tyring to get the class name from the jclass that is passed to the function so that I would have something like this:
    static void JNICALL
    cbClassLoad(jvmtiEnv *jvmti, JNIEnv* jni, jthread thread, jclass klass)
        const char *class_name;
        class_name = (*jni)->GetClassName(&klass);
    }Is something like this possible? I've been searching for a while but I can't find anything usefull.

    GetClassSignature should do what you want:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/jvmti/jvmti.html#GetClassSignature

  • An error has occurred:Invalid postback or callback argument in InfoView

    Hi Friends,
    When i try to change the parameter values and click OK button while scheduling a report in InfoView, i am getting the following error:
    An error has occurred:Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager. RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.
    Till now i have not find any good solution for this. Please help in providing any better solutions to fix this.

  • A little help with rutorrent

    Hi comrades,
    I use rtorrent in terminal without problems but recently I got interested in rutorrent.
    I've been following the rtorrent wiki and rutorrent wiki to get to this point.
    First of all rtorrent is working fine in terminal, but with rutorrent I only get to this far: http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu93 … 1403737709
    As you can see in the upeer right of the image it's trying to connect and in the log section is throwing me this:

    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
    ; PHP's initialization file, generally called php.ini, is responsible for
    ; configuring many of the aspects of PHP's behavior.
    ; PHP attempts to find and load this configuration from a number of locations.
    ; The following is a summary of its search order:
    ; 1. SAPI module specific location.
    ; 2. The PHPRC environment variable. (As of PHP 5.2.0)
    ; 3. A number of predefined registry keys on Windows (As of PHP 5.2.0)
    ; 4. Current working directory (except CLI)
    ; 5. The web server's directory (for SAPI modules), or directory of PHP
    ; (otherwise in Windows)
    ; 6. The directory from the --with-config-file-path compile time option, or the
    ; Windows directory (C:\windows or C:\winnt)
    ; See the PHP docs for more specific information.
    ; http://php.net/configuration.file
    ; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and lines
    ; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably guessed).
    ; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
    ; they might mean something in the future.
    ; Directives following the section heading [PATH=/www/mysite] only
    ; apply to PHP files in the /www/mysite directory. Directives
    ; following the section heading [HOST=www.example.com] only apply to
    ; PHP files served from www.example.com. Directives set in these
    ; special sections cannot be overridden by user-defined INI files or
    ; at runtime. Currently, [PATH=] and [HOST=] sections only work under
    ; CGI/FastCGI.
    ; http://php.net/ini.sections
    ; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
    ; directive = value
    ; Directive names are *case sensitive* - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
    ; Directives are variables used to configure PHP or PHP extensions.
    ; There is no name validation. If PHP can't find an expected
    ; directive because it is not set or is mistyped, a default value will be used.
    ; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or M_PI), one
    ; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an expression
    ; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), a quoted string ("bar"), or a reference to a
    ; previously set variable or directive (e.g. ${foo})
    ; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; ^ bitwise XOR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
    ; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
    ; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
    ; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
    ; sign, or by using the None keyword:
    ; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = None ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = "None" ; sets foo to the string 'None'
    ; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
    ; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension),
    ; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the extension.
    ; About this file ;
    ; PHP comes packaged with two INI files. One that is recommended to be used
    ; in production environments and one that is recommended to be used in
    ; development environments.
    ; php.ini-production contains settings which hold security, performance and
    ; best practices at its core. But please be aware, these settings may break
    ; compatibility with older or less security conscience applications. We
    ; recommending using the production ini in production and testing environments.
    ; php.ini-development is very similar to its production variant, except it's
    ; much more verbose when it comes to errors. We recommending using the
    ; development version only in development environments as errors shown to
    ; application users can inadvertently leak otherwise secure information.
    ; This is php.ini-production INI file.
    ; Quick Reference ;
    ; The following are all the settings which are different in either the production
    ; or development versions of the INIs with respect to PHP's default behavior.
    ; Please see the actual settings later in the document for more details as to why
    ; we recommend these changes in PHP's behavior.

    ; Output buffering is a mechanism for controlling how much output data
    ; (excluding headers and cookies) PHP should keep internally before pushing that
    ; data to the client. If your application's output exceeds this setting, PHP
    ; will send that data in chunks of roughly the size you specify.
    ; Turning on this setting and managing its maximum buffer size can yield some
    ; interesting side-effects depending on your application and web server.
    ; You may be able to send headers and cookies after you've already sent output
    ; through print or echo. You also may see performance benefits if your server is
    ; emitting less packets due to buffered output versus PHP streaming the output
    ; as it gets it. On production servers, 4096 bytes is a good setting for performance

    ; Error handling and logging ;
    ; This directive informs PHP of which errors, warnings and notices you would like

    ; directive is through the use of the error level constants and bitwise
    ; operators. The error level constants are below here for convenience as well as
    ; some common settings and their meanings.
    ; By default, PHP is set to take action on all errors, notices and warnings EXCEPT
    ; those related to E_NOTICE and E_STRICT, which together cover best practices and
    ; recommended coding standards in PHP. For performance reasons, this is the
    ; recommend error reporting setting. Your production server shouldn't be wasting
    ; resources complaining about best practices and coding standards. That's what
    ; development servers and development settings are for.
    ; Note: The php.ini-development file has this setting as E_ALL. This
    ; means it pretty much reports everything which is exactly what you want during
    ; development and early testing.
    ; Error Level Constants:
    ; E_ALL - All errors and warnings (includes E_STRICT as of PHP 5.4.0)
    ; E_ERROR - fatal run-time errors
    ; E_RECOVERABLE_ERROR - almost fatal run-time errors
    ; E_WARNING - run-time warnings (non-fatal errors)
    ; E_PARSE - compile-time parse errors
    ; E_NOTICE - run-time notices (these are warnings which often result
    ; from a bug in your code, but it's possible that it was
    ; intentional (e.g., using an uninitialized variable and
    ; relying on the fact it's automatically initialized to an
    ; empty string)
    ; E_STRICT - run-time notices, enable to have PHP suggest changes
    ; to your code which will ensure the best interoperability
    ; and forward compatibility of your code
    ; E_CORE_ERROR - fatal errors that occur during PHP's initial startup
    ; E_CORE_WARNING - warnings (non-fatal errors) that occur during PHP's
    ; initial startup
    ; E_COMPILE_ERROR - fatal compile-time errors
    ; E_COMPILE_WARNING - compile-time warnings (non-fatal errors)
    ; E_USER_ERROR - user-generated error message
    ; E_USER_WARNING - user-generated warning message
    ; E_USER_NOTICE - user-generated notice message
    ; E_DEPRECATED - warn about code that will not work in future versions
    ; of PHP
    ; E_USER_DEPRECATED - user-generated deprecation warnings
    ; Common Values:
    ; E_ALL (Show all errors, warnings and notices including coding standards.)

    ; it could be very dangerous in production environments. Depending on the code
    ; which is triggering the error, sensitive information could potentially leak
    ; out of your application such as database usernames and passwords or worse.

    ; paid for the registration of these arrays and because ENV is not as commonly
    ; used as the others, ENV is not recommended on productions servers. You
    ; can still get access to the environment variables through getenv() should you

    ; useful when running scripts from the command line. When this directive is

    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
    ; PHP's initialization file, generally called php.ini, is responsible for
    ; configuring many of the aspects of PHP's behavior.
    ; PHP attempts to find and load this configuration from a number of locations.
    ; The following is a summary of its search order:
${foo})
    ; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; ^ bitwise XOR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
    ; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
    ; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
    ; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
    ; sign, or by using the None keyword:
    ; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = None ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = "None" ; sets foo to the string 'None'
    ; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
    ; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension),
    ; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the extension.
    ; About this file ;
    ; PHP comes packaged with two INI files.
We recommending using the
    ; development version only in development environments as errors shown to
    ; application users can inadvertently leak otherwise secure information.
    ; This is php.ini-production INI file.
    ; Quick Reference ;
    ; The following are all the settings which are different in either the production
    ; or development versions of the INIs with respect to PHP's default behavior.
    ; Please see the actual settings later in the document for more details as to why
    ; we recommend these changes in PHP's behavior.

    ; By default, PHP is set to take action on all errors, notices and warnings EXCEPT

    ; means it pretty much reports everything which is exactly what you want during
    ; development and early testing.
    ; Error Level Constants:
    ; E_ALL - All errors and warnings (includes E_STRICT as of PHP 5.4.0)
    ; E_ERROR - fatal run-time errors
    ; E_RECOVERABLE_ERROR - almost fatal run-time errors
    ; E_WARNING - run-time warnings (non-fatal errors)
    ; E_PARSE - compile-time parse errors
    ; E_NOTICE - run-time notices (these are warnings which often result
    ; from a bug in your code, but it's possible that it was
    ; intentional (e.g., using an uninitialized variable and
    ; relying on the fact it's automatically initialized to an
    ; empty string)
    ; E_STRICT - run-time notices, enable to have PHP suggest changes
    ; to your code which will ensure the best interoperability
    ; and forward compatibility of your code
    ; E_CORE_ERROR - fatal errors that occur during PHP's initial startup
    ; E_CORE_WARNING - warnings (non-fatal errors) that occur during PHP's
    ; initial startup
    ; E_COMPILE_ERROR - fatal compile-time errors
    ; E_COMPILE_WARNING - compile-time warnings (non-fatal errors)
    ; E_USER_ERROR - user-generated error message
    ; E_USER_WARNING - user-generated warning message
    ; E_USER_NOTICE - user-generated notice message
    ; E_DEPRECATED - warn about code that will not work in future versions
    ; of PHP
    ; E_USER_DEPRECATED - user-generated deprecation warnings
    ; Common Values:

  • Help needed for Notifications

    After compaing many prducts in the category I went with Forms Central because overall it looked like it had the potential to be the best, and I still think that, but I am now very dependent on it and need a few answers if possible.  First of all FormsCentral doesn't seem to show up on Adobe product lists when phoning in for help or in some on-line places.  Is FormsCentral considered an Adobe core product that they are committed to long term?  I've tied phone support 3 times now - and left a callback number and each time they call back and I jst get the recording with music on hold and have waited over an hour each time and still have not had anyone pick up the phone.
    But specific questions related to the product:
    1.  Why can I not have notifications go to an e-mail other than the one registered on the account.   For confirmations you can specify a co-author's email for the reply to field, but why not the same for notifications back to the form owner.  And how can you specify not to use a reply-to addresss at all?
    2.   What kind of backup does Adobe offer on forms and their data in the event of some disaster on the form owner's part.  Is there a way to retrieve the forms and data from a prior date if need be?
    3. When publishing a response results table to a web addreee, how can I put a pssword on it to be required to open it?  I know it has a very unique address and not likely to be seen accidentally by anyone but I have a client who insists on that befoer he will use it.
    4.  A unique ID field option would be nice
    5.  A hidden field on the form results that captures the form filler's IP address would really help too.
    Overall though great product and if you can keep the enhancements coming this product will be tops.
    Many thanks.

    We apologize for the poor experience you had with our call-in support. We are definitely committed to FormsCentral. If you ever have any questions do not hesitate to post them on this forum or send an email to [email protected] Both I and the entire product team monitor the forum and that email alias. We are here to help you... your feedback also helps us to build a better product.
    Regarding your questions:
    I wrote up a FAQ on how others can receive e-mail notifications. You can read it here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1424I'm not sure what you mean by this "And how can you specify not to use a reply-to addresses at all?" E-mail notifications only have a no-reply address and submission receipts have an option to turn it off.
    The form file has a history. Click the clock in the lower right corner to see it. You can roll back to an earlier version. If you are really worried about data loss you should also save the data out as an Excel file on occasion.
    There is no way to put a password on a published form file. You should just share the form file with him and make him a Reader. He would need a username and password to access it and he would see the same thing as the published file.
    Good feedback. If you haven't already, you should vote on that in the idea section - someone else has already asked for this feature. This helps us to prioritize.
    Why do you need to know the IP address?
    Thanks for your feedback!
    Randy
