Calling a javascript on load of jsff page

I have a jsff page which is loaded as a taskflow from region.
i tried to call an alert function on load of jsff page as follows:
<af:clientListener type="load" method="jsMethod"/>
     <af:resource type="javascript">
     function jsMethod() {
        alert("Hi Page loaded");
</af:resource>
If it works fine i intent to call backing bean method from javascript later.
the alert is not being called in this case.
what's wrong with this method?

  • Is it possible to call ActionForm on auto load of a page???

    hi...
    I have a page OrderList.jsp that contains a list of fields(sno, ordername, orderdate).
    These are stored in a database.
    There are three classes.
    Order ActionForm -> OrderAction -> OrderDAO
    I have to display the orderlist, using <action tag>
    by calling OrderActionForm, which calls OrderAction, tht call OrderDAO that has retrieve fields from Database.
    How can I make a call to <action>, there are only text boxes that are to
    be filled automatically on loading of page orderlist.jsp
    Please help me..

    Hi thumper, if you have access to InfoPath, you can add the form to a page using the InfoPath web part. Otherwise, use SP Designer with instructions below:

  • Error when calling a Javascript function loaded as a library

    Hi All,
    I have some javascript functions in a custom js file which is in OA_HTML dir. I have loaded this js library using pageContext.putjavascriptlibrary("ABC","custom.js") in processRequest. When I deploy my code, there is a javascript error in the page. It does not seem to find the javascript function.
    My code in PR is :
    pageContext.putjavascriptlibrary("ABC","custom.js")
    someBean.setOnFocus("javascript: callFunc(this);"); //callFunc(obj) is defined in custom.js
    It works locally when I have my custom.js in myhtml directory. I am getting an error when I deploy the code on to the instance's apps server. Is there something that I am missing?
    Thanks in advance
    Raja

    Raja,
    You can bounce apache , and server cache would be refreshed!I guess then ur updated js function should work. Also,check ur js function works correctly on jdev.

  • Helpservice called with javascript leads to a blank page

    Dear Gurus!!!!!
    First of all thanks a lot for your future answers.
    I am desperatly trying to open a help service within a web template.
    I had a look to the following post
    Unable to Call Help Service Class
    and also to the "enhance web printing" how to document.
    Both documentation were really helpfull.
    The service I call works perfectly.
    The problem is that when I call the service, it leads to a session timeout.
    I do not know what I can do.
    Here is the javascript embended in my web template code:
    The objective is to write the selected date from the drop down box into the table TVARVC (this is what my service does).
    // I get the selected date from the drop down box
    selected_date=document.getElementsByName("FILTER_VALUE_1")[0].options[selectedindex].text;
    //I get the SAP_BW_URL
    BW_URL='<SAP_BW_URL>';
    // I fill the CMD part of the final url
    cmd="&CMD=PROCESS_HELP_WINDOW&help_service=ZTVARVC_INTERVAL&item=DROPDOWNBOX_1&TEXT="+selected_date;
    // I assign the new url calling the service to the document location
    location.href = BW_URL + cmd;
    <strike>When I execute the web template, the date is correctly set into the table TVARVC but the session always times out.
    "400 Session timed out - please log in again"
    </strike>h
    The html page result is a blank page and the web template result disappear.
    To sum up, I just would like to write the selected date from the dropdown box into the table TVARVC without affecting the template result html page.
    Can you please help me?
    Thanks a lot!
    regards,
    Cyril Naudes.
    PS: no need to ask for valuation... I will do it of course valuate the helpfull answers!

    I have found a temporarily solution which consists in opening the location in a new window and to close it just after... It is not really what I want to have, but it will solve my issue.

  • Call javascript function in an html page, how to?

    How can i call a javascript function in an html page were my flash catalyst swf is?

    I think you will need to import the catalyst fxp into flash or flash builder and add action script to invoke the javascript.

  • How to call a javascript method after table load on JSFF Fragment load?

    Hello,
    The usecase is to invoke a javascript method after table is done loading (fetching data) when user lands to a JSFF fragment. With JSPX pages I can achieve that by using PagePhaseListener. I have tried with RegionController as follows, and the problem i face is that I cannot prevent multiple calls to the Javascript call when user presses a tab or button in a screen, or changes drop-down value with autosubmit on.
    import javax.faces.context.FacesContext;
    import oracle.adf.model.RegionBinding;
    import oracle.adf.model.RegionContext;
    import oracle.adf.model.RegionController;
    import org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.render.ExtendedRenderKitService;
    import org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.util.Service;
    public class MyListener implements RegionController{
    public MyListener() {
    super();
    @Override
    public boolean refreshRegion(RegionContext regionContext) {
    int refreshFlag = regionContext.getRefreshFlag();
    System.out.println("Render flag is: "+refreshFlag);
    if (refreshFlag == RegionBinding.PREPARE_MODEL)
    initializeMethod();
    regionContext.getRegionBinding().refresh(refreshFlag);
    return false;
    public boolean validateRegion(RegionContext regionContext) {
    regionContext.getRegionBinding().validate();
    return false;
    public boolean isRegionViewable(RegionContext regionContext) {
    return regionContext.getRegionBinding().isViewable();
    public void initializeMethod() {
    FacesContext f = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ExtendedRenderKitService service = Service.getRenderKitService(f, ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    service.addScript(f, "myJSFunction();");
    @Override
    public String getName() {
    return null;
    I need the javascript to be called only once after the table is done loading when user lands to a fragment (jsff).
    Any ideas appreciated?
    JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.5.0
    Thank you.

    One of the requirements is to compare every row with the next row and highlight the changes. There are other requirements as well where JavaScript solution is used.
    The question remains the same. Is it doable or not without changing the solution from JavaScript solution to server-side solution ? Can we call a JavaScript only once when the user lands to a jsff fragment ?
    Hope that is clear.
    Thanks.

  • Looking for hook into a mb method on page load of jsff with auto query on view criteria.

    Hello,
    I have a View Criteria that is set to Query Automatically (showing data to match today's date).  The target table has a detail table and there is a control that shows parsed XML from the current row in the detail table into a table that I build dynamically. The main table and the detail table show the proper data on page load but the table for the parsed XML is empty.  The dynamic table is bound to a managed bean where the parsing is done and data is created.  I have the control refreshing properly on a row change of the main and detail tables and on a queryListener for the view criteria.
    This is for a jsff page. I have been trying a bunch of approaches with no success.  The detail table has a ppr to the main table and the query.  I am looking some event on either the query, the main table or the detail table where I can make a call to my managed bean to parse the XML, build the table and refresh the control.  I have an attribute binding to the XML data (when I placed it in a control as plane XML it refreshed properly).  I only need this on initial page load or first time the tables are populated, I have the other use cases covered.
    Running JDev 11.1.2.4
    Thank you
    Rudy

    ok but where?
    i have read a topic about "setRefreshOption", but i need a component to execute it.
    i have read a topic about a false criteria (1=2), and when i want search, i remove it, but again, i need a component to execute it.
    i have read a topic about ${adfFacesContext.postback == true} to write into iterator proeprty, but i haven't this view into my appmodule.
    i'm really sorry, but please, can you explain me a little ?

  • How to refresh JSFF page only when page loaded using ADF 11g

    Hi
    I am facing an issue with prepreModel() usage in the .jsff page fragment. I want to invoke executables only when the specific jsff page get's loaded. I tried using 'prepareModel' as a refresh condition, but I can see always executables are getting executed. Does 'prepareModel' behaves differently for .jsff when compared to .jspx ?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    ADF Regions have a slightly modified lifecycle. However, prepareModel behaves the same. Its marking a specific time in the ADF request lifecycle when the iterators are refreshed. Try prepareModelIfNeeded

  • How to use Javascript to load random pages?

    I wonder if anyone knows how to use Javascript to load a list
    of links stored in the text file.
    Every address will take a line, and the Javascript will
    randomly select one of the addresses to load.
    The user will click the button "random" and access the page
    randomly selected by the script.

    Addition note:
    I forgot to say this because my computer froze......(how
    lame)
    I got the code for random accessing the links.
    But now the problem is, is there anyway to parse a text file
    into the array in Javascript?

    Hi,
    I think the error message is clear:
    +The expression "#{bindings.servicesBTF2.regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "r2") evaluated to null.+
    +This is typically due to an error in the configuration of the objects referenced by this expression.+
    +If it helps, the expression "#{bindings.servicesBTF2}" evaluates to "null".+
    +If it helps, the expression "#{bindings}" evaluates to "com_syniverse_entprov_iotdms_view_agreementDetailsPageDef". Now using an empty RegionModel instead.+
    Have you checked the configuration in the parent page PageDef file (the page that launches the popup)?

  • Call a jsff page in an bounded task flow.

    Hi,
    Am using jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
    I have a bounded task flow named welcomeTF.xml which calls another bounded task flow named LeadsTF. The LeadsTF bounded task flow contains 3 jsff pages(named lv.jsff, lv1.jsff, lv2.jsff).
    WelcomeTF(Bounded TaskFlow)------------------------------------>LeadsTF(Bounded Task Flow).
    When my user runs the jspx page the Welcome page(from WelcomeTF) renders which has 3 buttons (named Button1,Button2,Button3). These 3 buttons should call the LeadsTF Bounded task flow but with different jsff pages.
    Button1  ------------------------------->  LeadsTF(lv.jsff)
    Button2  ------------------------------->  LeadsTF(lv1.jsff)
    Button3  ------------------------------->  LeadsTF(lv2.jsff)
    How can i achieve this? Please help me with the samples.
    Regards,
    Prasad K T.

    You can define a TF parameter for the LeadsTF and use this parameter to route the navigation to either lv.jsff, lv1.jsff or lv2.jsff when entering this TF:
    Add a TF parameter (e.g. call it "InitialTarget" and map it to #{pageFlowScope.initialTarget})
    Add an ADF Router activity as a default activity in LeadsTF
    Configure the router activity to navigate to the appropriate JSF fragment depending on the value of #{pageFlowScope.initalTarget}
    Make the buttons in the parent TF set different values of the TF parameter when calling the LeadsTF

  • Call a javascript function (in ASPX) page from a javascript file

    I have a javascript file (viewer.js) situated in Scripts/viewer.js My
    default.aspx has a javascript functions that calls a c# function in the
    default.aspx.cs ( it sends a http webrequest)
    Now I want to call from the viewer.js the function in default.aspx which calls the c# function.
    How can I handle this in my viewer.js?
    I need to do this because I work with 3D objects and the select event is on the viewer.js
    When I select the 3D object it needs to call the function in default.aspx...
    Scripts/viewer.js
    function ClickPickItem(item) {
    $("#properties").show();
    /*Call function App() */
    Default.aspx
    function App() {
    PageMethods.Connect(callback);
    Default.aspx.cs
    [WebMethod]
    public static string Connect()
    string rsp = DigestAuthFixer.GrabResponse("http://<username>:<password>@nextbus.mxdata.co.uk/nextbuses/1.0/1");
    ... CODE TO MAKE HTTPWEBREQUEST}
    Sorry if I'm not clear enough
    I don't see another option like this
    What I need to do?
    Thanks!

    If my understanding is not wrong, you are trying to call a Javascript function in a separate script block from a linked Javascript page. rite?
    When it comes to Javascript, all scripts will be posted to the client side browser and we can access any method between pages provided those JS files are linked to the page.
    So you can directly call
    App()
    function from your
    ClickPickItem()
    function.
    Please try and let us know your result.

  • Call to Jasper Report from a jsf only? Or can v use a jsff page?.

    Hi,
    I am new to JDev and ADF. I have a application using ADF . I have created Jasper reports as well and trying to  Integrate the Reports .
    If i make a call to the Jasper Report with a small dummy application it works.
    But if i do the same from within the application it doesn work.
    Should we make a call to the Jasper Report from a jsf only? Or can v use a jsff page?.
    Waiting for answers. thanks in advance

    Should we make a call to the Jasper Report from a jsf only? Or can v use a jsff page?.
    This usually doesn't matter.
    You will probably need to post some code so we can see how you generate and display report.

  • Calling the javascript  FM and R/3 FM in BSP page

    HiExperts ,
    I want to know how can I use the javascript code and  function modules(R/3) in bsp ., please let me know how can i call the function modules and javascript in my bsp page,
    Please provide me a sample piece of code for calling the javascript function module and r/3 function moduless.
    Thx in advance,
    Kiran

    Hi,
    These are 2 very different things.
    Function modules are called on the server-side in the BSP controller or event-processing... No fancy thing here, this is only ABAP.
    Javascript is used on the client side and called from the view of your BSP. You can write Javascript code directly in a BSP view or use MIME repository to store your .js files
    In advanced aspects, you can use Javascript to call server using AJAX but you should get familiar with the basic aspects first.
