Calling another function from run function

Dear All,
Below is my skeleton of multithread programme. I am now going to implelment a new function to do the processing rather then over crowding my run fuctnion. Where exactly must I define the myNewFunction in the same class as ConnectionHandler or create a new class? What would be right? I saw some place you need to put the word static what is it?
class ConnectionHandler implements Runnable {
     public void run() {
      callMyNewFunction()
}

Dear Jverd,
Basically below is code skeleton. So below the big T is new Thread(new ConnectionHandler(socketConn1)).start(); correct and the small t is the run function correct? So my question is that if via the run function I call some other function will that have impact on the memory allocation or shall I leave all my codes in the run function itself? I hope I am clearer now.
public class commServer {
   public static void main(String[] args) {
      try {
           final ServerSocket serverSocketConn = new ServerSocket(9000);
          while (true)
     try
     Socket socketConn1 = serverSocketConn.accept();
                new Thread(new ConnectionHandler(socketConn1)).start();
     catch(Exception e)
     System.out.println("MyError:Socket Accepting has been caught in main loop."+e.toString());
     e.printStackTrace(System.out);
      catch (Exception e)
         System.out.println("MyError:Socket Conn has been caught in main loop."+e.toString());
         e.printStackTrace(System.out);
         //System.exit(0);
class ConnectionHandler implements Runnable {
    private Socket receivedSocketConn1;
    ConnectionHandler(Socket receivedSocketConn1) {
      this.receivedSocketConn1=receivedSocketConn1;
   //@Override
   public void run() {
      Connection dbconn = null;
      BufferedWriter w = null;
      BufferedReader r = null;
      try {
         PrintStream out = System.out;
            BufferedWriter fout = null;
         w =  new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(receivedSocketConn1.getOutputStream()));
         r = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(receivedSocketConn1.getInputStream()));
         int m = 0, count=0;
         String line="";
         String n="";
         //w.write("$PA\n");
         //w.flush();
         while ((m=r.read()) != -1)
                  ///**DB processing here.
                  n="";
      catch (IOException ex)
           System.out.println("MyError:IOException has been caught in in the main first try");
           ex.printStackTrace(System.out);
      finally
        try
             if ( w != null )
                    w.close();
             else
                  System.out.println("MyError:w is null in finally close");
        catch(IOException ex){
           System.out.println("MyError:IOException has been caught in w in finally close");
           ex.printStackTrace(System.out);
}

    Yes there are some ways. But this question has nothing to do with JSF and certainly not with Java at all. Javascript is an entirely different language, although it has a similar syntax as Java (and unforunately also a similar name, they should never have renamed it from ECMAScript).I think ECMAScript is a renaming from JavaScript. The originally JavaScript was called LiveScript by Netscape. I've heard that the ECMAScript name was deliberately chosen to be unsexy.

    Hi,
    I guess you have changed the properties of screen only.
    I assume you have made a Ztransaction Code.
    When you define a transaction code, you need to specify a screen number for radio option program and screen and you need to specify a screen and not subscreen.( I think so!!)
    You changed only the code without changing the transaction code properties.
    Therefore, i think u r getting a dump.
    If you want to call your subscreen, call it in some screen and then call that screen using your transaction code properties.
    To include a subscreen screen in the subscreen area of the main screen and call its PBO flow logic, use the following statement in the PBO event of the main screen:
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
      CALL SUBSCREEN <area> INCLUDING <prog> <dynp>.
    To call the PAI flow logic of the subscreen screen, use the following statement in the PAI flow logic of the main screen:
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    CALL SUBSCREEN <area>.

    Hi all,
    In our requirement we are calling another program from our current program .
    In the current program( from which we are calling ) we are giving file name in the selection screen
    and when we run the current program we are successfully going to other program but our main requirement is to higlight the file name which we had given earlier .
    Note :  The called program doesnt have any selection screen.

    HI
    use EXPORT and IMPORT key words for passing data from one program to another program.
    as the called program is available in the same session you can use above key words which means you are accessing ABAP MEMORY.
    You can also use SET and GET key words which means SAP memory
    take F1 help there are examples tooo and detailes explanation abou the same

    Basically - you are already are compiling a c file. Replace that c file with all the c files.
    Specifically it depends on the OS, compiler and how you are compiling
    For windows add it the project or compile each file and then add the object fill to the link line.
    For unix add the other c files in to the compile line the same place you have the current C file.

    I do not think you can invoke the current jsp directly using javascript.
    If the effect you are trying to achieve is to reload the page, then you could execute the servlet / code which called the current jsp.

  • Calling java method from c function

    Hi,
    I have been through some forums and tutorials, but nothing helps me yet.
    Here's my problem : I want to access java funtion from c function.
    <code java>
    public class MyClass {
    public int oneMethod() {
    return 5;
    </code java>
    <code c++>
    void main(int argc, char *argv[]) {
    // creation of JVM -> no problem
    cls = (env)->FindClass("MyClass");
    if (cls != 0) {
    // it finds the class
    mid = (env)->GetMethodID(cls, "oneMethod", "()I");
    if (mid != 0) {
    // it finds the method
    intReturn = (env)->CallIntMethod(cls, mid);
    printf("Result of oneMethod: %d \n", initReturn);
    </code c++>
    the initReturn gives me 0, and not 5. So what do you think the mistake is ?
    Should I pass by the GetClassObject() funtion, but in this case, what object would I pass in reference since I'm using a call from c to java.
    Thanks a lot for your response, and Happy new Year to all the comunity.

    1. You are - apparently - trying to call a method of a java object.
    2. But you are instead making the call on a class.
    3. You can do one of the following:
    o Pass a reference to the object as you call C.
    o Call some other java method (maybe static) that gets you a reference to a java object.
    o Use JNI to call a java constructor to create a java object.
    o Change your code to get the class object and call a static method.

    That depends on the nature of your parameters. I guess you calculate the params on client and then want to submit them. In this case and if you don't want to use Ajax simple add some <input type="hidden"> elements (of course there correspondend components dependent of your framework) and store the params there. If the javascript isn't invoked by a button click, you can use a button nevertheless. Set visible="false" and call
    document.getElementById('client_id_of_my_hidden_button').click();
    (or maybe doClick() dependent on your framework).

  • In Captivate 7, how can I call another action from within an action?

    I have a conditional action called FakeSuccessRewind. Now I need to call another function called ShowGrayBalloons02 from within its Else statement, but I couldn't find something like "Execute Advanced Action." Can anybody share some tips here? Thanks!
    Below are screenshots of my two actions:
    1) FakeSuccessRewind (if/else). Here I need to call the 2nd action from the Else statement, underneath the statement Go to the next slide.
    2) ShowGrayBalloons02. Note this function has five seperate runs when the variable is decrementing from 5-1.
    Thanks a lot!

    You can't, you need to add the other action into the first one.

  • Calling another report from a report

    just wanna explore the possibility...
    i have a.bat which will call a.rep.
    in a.rep, a function will loop and call b.rep.
    is this possible?

    Hi KLC
    This is prasanth again. In reports we can call a report from another report which is called "drilleddown reports"
    If ur requirement is this one, then we can do this by using SRW builtin called srw.run_report.
    syntax is srw.run_report(reportname,<arguements if any)
    Place a push button in report 'a' and put this code in that button.
    I think this will solve your problem. I dont know exactly what requirement you have. Because for ur last question regarding distribution not clearly understood, so i suggestion is incorrect. any way i am trying to distribute the date based on sql model and i will suggesst you soon, Since i am also a developer,please try my suggestion but i am not sure that will work 100% correctly.

    Hi
    The sample acme video demo in JDeveloper does something similar.
    It has main Servlet "WebAppServlet.java" which overides the
    doPost and doGet methods and this methods calls someother java
    classes do perform some specific business logic which return a
    html page in a String format to "WebAppServlet.java".
    Open the samples directory in JDEveloper 2.0 with WebApp_81.jws
    to look at the source code.
    Steps to run the sample are included in the help system.

  • How to create Instace of another process from running process.

    Hi,
    I want to create an instance of another process from my running process. Along with this i want to pass a business object as input parameter to this instance. Please help me to do this !!!

    This and other ways to create an instance in another process was described in Re: create new process instance
    1. Here's how you can create an instance in a process using logic in an Automatic activity's method. This uses the "Fuego.Lib.ProcessInstance.create()" method shown below inside a process:
    // "argsIn" is an associative string array (Any[String])
    argsIn as Any[String]
    // this assumes that the Begin activity has two argument variables
    //   named "nameArg" (a string) and "myBpmObjectArg" (a BPM
    //   object variable) and you're setting them
    //   to the previously initialized variables "name" and
    //   "myBpmObject" respectively
    argsIn["nameArg"] = name
    argsIn["myBpmObjectArg"] = myBpmObject
    // logic here to determine the name of the process to create an instance in
    idOfProcess as String
    idOfProcess = <hard coded string that has the id (not the name) of the process to instantiate>
    ProcessInstance.create(processId : "/" + idOfProcess, arguments : argsIn,
         argumentsSetName : "BeginIn") ProcessInstance is in the Catalog inside Fuego.Lib.
    The processId parameter (the "idOfProcess" variable in the above logic) is the thing I most commonly screw up with this. It is the text you see when you right mouse click the process in the Project Navigator tab -> "Properties". Look at the value in the "Id" field and not the "Name" field here (the name without any space characters). Prefix it with a "/" as is shown here and if you've deployed this using an organization unit (OU) then prefix this to the string also.
    The third parameter is almost always "BeginIn". Begin activities in a process can have many incoming argument mappings, the default is "BeginIn". To see yours, double click the process's Begin activity and look at the mapping's name in the upper left corner of the dialog.
    "argsIn" is the set of incoming argument variables you want passed into the process. A common mistake is to type in the names of the incoming argument variables without the double quotes like this:
    // this will *NOT* work
    argsIn[nameArg] = name
    argsIn[myBpmObjectArg] = myBpmObject
    . . .Here is the correct syntax:
    // this *WILL* work
    argsIn["nameArg"] = name
    argsIn["myBpmObjectArg"] = myBpmObject
    . . .In this example, the process has two argument variables. It does not matter if the incoming argument variables are primitive type arguments (e.g. String, Integer, Decimal...) or BPM Objects, it is always done the same way. In this example, there is a String incoming argument called "nameArg" and a BPM Object incoming argument called "myBpmObjectArg".
    2. A process can create a new instance in another process using the Subflow activity which synchronously creates an instance in a child subprocess and waits for the result to return once the instance in the child subprocess reaches the End activity in the process. From the parent process, you'd match the incoming and outgoing argument variables of the called child process with instance variables in your parent process.
    3. A process can create a new instance in another process using the Process Creation activity which asynchronously creates an instance in a child subprocess (fire and forget) but does not wait for the child to respond to the parent. Once the child process begins, the parent continues its flow. From the parent process, you'd match the incoming argument variables of the called child process with instance variables in your parent process.
