Calling external Web Service: PI is looking for a logical port and proxy.

Hi,
My scenario is ECC Proxy -> PI -> External Webservice (WS adapter).
the Web service adapter fails with the error message:

-
- <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">
<SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
<SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">WS_ADAPTER_SYS_ERROR</SAP:Code>
<SAP:P1 />
<SAP:P2 />
<SAP:P3 />
<SAP:P4 />
<SAP:AdditionalText />
<SAP:Stack>System error while calling Web service adapter: Error when initializing SOAP client application: 'error_text'</SAP:Stack>
<SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
</SAP:Error>
When I debug the message processing, it is looking for a port in table SSRVRTCONFIG, finds it(entry created automatically when WS adapter and the corresponding receiver agreement is activated in ID.
Then the program looks for an entry in "SRT_CFG_CLI_ASGN" for a proxy and logical port combination and errors out.
to be able to call an external web service, do we need a proxy to be created? I tried to create but the proxy creation fails because the external WSDL has some unsupported tags.
Also do we need to do any other configuration in SOAMANAGER? I am assuming not because the Web service is external.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Vijay

I already checked that note and made sure that the points mentioned are met. I have a trace set up on the target system and would know if the call reaches them and then fails in authorization. Right now the call doesnt even reach the target system and also from debugging I know that the program is looking for a proxy and then fails.

WS Binding: exception durign SOAP invocation: java.util.NoSuchElementException
Looks like the error is in the data sent to or expected from the service in your composite. Check that audit logs and composite flow to make sure your soap message when using soapui matches what you are working with in soa suite.

• Error calling external web service over HTTPS

Hi everyone
I'm trying to call an external web service over HTTPS, and continually get the following error:
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.wsdl.exceptions.WSDLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: handshake failure
I haven't tried doing this before, so not quite sure where to start. I have a client certificate that must be used to access the remote web service, and I think the problem is associating the client cert with the web service call.
Has anyone else tried this before? Any suggestions of where to look?
I've had a brief look at Key Storage in NWA, but it's not something I'm familiar with - so not sure if it's even the right place to be looking.
Some help on this would be great!
Thanks
Stuart

Thanks Aleksandar
Here's the output from the trace. Unfortunately the SAP forums don't allow attachments, so it may be difficult to read. Please let me know if you see anything that may help.
Thanks
Stuart

• I have a problem calling external web service

Hi all bpel gurus,
Please help me. I want to call a external web service which return "Hello" +parameter1. My web service is ready. And i put it with my partnerlink. When i want to call it from bpel console, i wait for a long time and the bpel instance got time out.
Can you help me how to solve this beginning issue problem?

Hi again,
Firstliy i create a very simple Web service which take a string parameter and return a "Hello" + paramaterName.
Then i drag and drop that web service's wsdl file to .bpel file and i identified the partner role of partner link using
this wsdl. My bpel process a basic simple synhronous bpel process. And i drap and drop an invoke activitiy. And i map
this partner link to my invoke activity. two assign activity. One assign component is before invoke activity and the
other is after invoke activity. Then i used first assign activity mapping input variable-->input_Invoke_Variable, i used
second assign activity mapping output_Invoke_Variable-->outputVariable.
After this, when i write any string into the parameter field of BPEL Console's instance, i wait for a long time, but i
responds "timeout" problem and failed.
I'm in trouble to call any external web service from BPEL. Please help me.
I'm waiting and following your answers. Thanks a lot.

• Calling External Web Service from Workflow

Hello Gurus,
I'm working on a workflow development in which I have to invoke an external web service (non-SAP) from a workflow task. As soon as the work item is created in SAP, I need to send a notification via web service call. So I thought of having a workflow step to call the web Service.
(1) Can I use WF_EXTSRV wihout having a BSP application.? There is no BSP application in my case.
(2) What are the possible options I have to achieve this?
Thanks
Steve.

Hi,
I don't see a reason why you should necessarily use WF_EXTSRV.
Just create ABAP class in SE24, for example ZCLASS. Add interface IF_WORKFLOW to the interface tab. Implement the interface methods. Actually you don't really even have to implement them, just go into the methods and activate them. Now you have a workflow compatible ABAP class.
Now create new static&public method to it, for example CALL_WEBSERVICE. Add any importing and exporting parameters that you need (what info you need from workflow to call the web service and vice versa). Code your web service call from this new method.
Create new task in PFTC. Call your new method ZCLASS->CALL_WEBSERVICE. from the task. Add the task as a new step into the workflow in a suitable place.

• Using Client Side Extensions (SWF) to call external Web Service

Hi,
I'm using .swf files to extend my CRMOD application, and one of my requirements is to be able to show information on a custom applet using the Client Side Extensions. This information is coming from an external system, so i'm trying to call this external web service using .swf.
When i create my swf application and i run it locally, i can access the web service and receive the results into my browser, but when i do the same call from the custom web applet in CRMOD i don't get any results.
Can someone tell me if this is possible? And if so, how to do it?

• Configurations to be done when calling external web service

Hi,
Do we need to do any configurations in SAP when we want to call any external web service from sap.
I have created a proxy based on URL (WSDL) and I have searched this consumer proxy in soamanager transaction.
I found the result and when I click on Apply Selection it is giving some errors in the soamanager screen at the top.
The error is " Error : Internal error" . When I click this error link no error text is available.
How to check the errors displayed in soamanager.
Can anyone explain on how to resolve this issue. Once these errors are rectified then only I can create a logical port.

You have problems with authorizations when you try to create logical port.

• Failing to call external web services

We are hitting a problem invoking services deployed on an external machine.
Our setup is straight forward. We have two machines setup. One is running JBOSS (machine name MyMachine1), and the other is running OAS (machine name MyMachine2). Both are on the same development LAN.
We then deployed a service called ConstructLetter onto JBOSS and tested that we could see this service from within IE on the OAS machine.
Then I created a simple orchestration in BPEL PM that does an assign and then calls the ConstructLetter service.
I deployed this onto OAS and tried to initiate the orchestration from the BPELConsole. The Assign works correctly, but the Invoke is highlighted in RED.
Viewing the error from BPELConsole gives the following error :
<remoteFault>
<part name="code" >

HTTP

</part>
<part name="summary" >

when invoking endpointAddress 'http://MyMachine1:8080/ConstructLetterService/services/ConstructLetter', (500)Internal Error

</part>
<part name="detail" >
<detail>AxisFault faultCode: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}HTTP faultSubcode: faultString: (500)Internal Error faultActor: faultNode: faultDetail: {}:return code: 500 <html><head><title>Error</title></head> <body><h2>Error</h2> InterScan HTTP Version 3.81-Build_1032 $Date: 05/05/2004 14:39:0037$</p> Connecting to ybes273084: Host not found</p> </body></html> {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}HttpErrorCode:500 </detail>
</part>
</remoteFault>
I have added in the machine running JBOSS (MyMachine1) into my JDeveloper->Tools->Preferences->Web Browser and Proxy settings and it
makes no difference. I have tried to update the partnerlink to the IP address, again no joy.
When we run this from the same physical machine, i.e. copy the JBOSS session onto the OAS machine so it is all locally, the invoke works correctly.
The fact I can view from IE would imply to me that BPEL PM is still trying to use the proxy, but I have added the neccessary data into the configuration files to bypass the proxy for these machines.
I have also tested this with a local BPEL Process Server with the same result.
Any ideas?

I had a seemed problem, but I was using OC4J and my LAN has a proxy server.
I was not able to acess any WebService deployed on other machines. The error message was "Connect refused'. So I edited the file <ORACLE_HOME>\integration\orabpel\bin\obsetenv.bat (or obsetenv.sh for linux)
in the section ':set_proxy', adding the machine names and it gets work....
