CallManager 4.1(2) and AXL

Hello Everyone,
I am new to writing code for CallManager and AXL. I have what I thought would be a simple task. I need to be able to edit the line information associated with a device. In other words, if a device has a line (shared or not), I need to be able to edit anything about, in particular the "external phone number mask" (e164Mask). I can't seem to find the correct AXL syntax to perform this update. I have been successful in updating information at the device level, but not any further down the line.
From what I can tell, updatephonereq/lines/line has the capability to handle my task.
Can someone please show me the correct syntax for updating "anything" about the line for a specific device????
Thanks,
Stu

    Hi
Well - a 404 means 'page not found' typically, so either the AXL service has not been enabled on that server, is not working for some reason, or the user you specified doesn't have AXL rights.
I would check your user rights, and if they're OK try a different CUCM server (enabling AXL if necessary).

  • Callmanager 5.0(4) and NIC redundancy

    Hi,
I am currently installing a two callmanager cluster running 5.0(4).Everything works fine apart from the dual nic config.
I have used the set network failover ena command and both nics flash on the front of the server and the switches report that the link is up.
However when i go into OS admin the callmanager thinks that one of the NICs is down.
    Anyone seen anything like this.
    cheers

What type of server is it. Cisco dont support NIC teaming on IBM platforms. It is supportd only on HP platforms.

  • JTAPI and AXL interfering with each other

This has been driving me crazy today.
I had to write a custom callforward app, which upon setting the call forward, modifies some line properties as well (remove any pickup group that may be present).
To set the callforward, I've been using JTAPI and I've had this operation operational for over a year in a productive environment. Now I've added the updateLine axl command, and all of a sudden, the application no longer does what it's supposed to.
Here is what happens: via the phone interface, I enter the number I want to forward to, then send the request to my webserver. There, the forward is set via JTAPI without exceptions being thrown (since setting / removing a cfwd gets no feedback, getting an exception = it didn't work). Then, I send the updateLine for the lines I've just forwarded. It all works out nicely, the apps comes back telling the user all his calls have been forwarded to number X.
However, no callforwarding is actually made even though JTAPI came through telling me everything was okay. However, the pickup group does get removed from the line.
If you then try the same operation again, this time there's only the JTAPI part as the line no longer is in the pickup group, and now the operation works like as reliable as it has always done before.
Writing a sample app is going to be a bitch because this thing isn't quite so simple (and I'm re-using a lot of class libs of other projects so I can't just send the source code of everything to cisco) so I might not open a case on this but I thought I'd let you know.. and if Cisco employees visit this forum maybe they could spare some time trying to replicate.
Now I'm stick having to rewrite the whole callforwarding via axl which technically isn't a problem, but it's just going to take up time that wasn't forseen in this particular project :(

In order to modify a package, the developer would need to acquire a lock on the package. So Oracle would prevent two developers from modifying a package simultaneously. It would do nothing, though, to prevent two developers from serially overwriting each other's changes. That's one of the many reasons that you use an external source control system when developing any code, including database packages.

  • Is WSDL supported for CM 3.1 and AXL

    Hi,
I am running CM 3.1 and it seems to have AXL support. However, looking at all the code samples, I am note sure if I can use wsdl, to generate a java client.
Is WSDL compatibility a new feature in 4.x ?
    Thanks

AXL SDKs can be found here: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/dev_support/access_level/product_support but they only go back to CCM 3.3. It looks like you have to ask Cisco for a WSDL file for earlier CCM revisions (why on earth haven't you upgraded though? CCM 3.1 is beyond nostalgic ;), keeping in mind that you can never just create proxy classes from the WDSL because Cisco keeps manually hacking those files which of course means they do not correspond to the actual API (and as another side effect can usually not automatically be imported because nobody at Cisco bothers to check for such "trivial" details).

  • CallManager - CTI Route Points and associated DNs

Is there one best way to associate directory numbers with CTI route points?  Is it best to...
    1. Associate only one DN to each CTI RP, creating one CTI RP for each and every DN?
    ...or..
    2. If the DNs server similar functions, can multiple DNs associated with one CTI RP, creating one CTI RP with multiple DNs?
I have seen them configured both ways, and can't figure out which is best, so I'd like to know if there is preferred configuration, and if so, what it is, and why.
    Thank you!

Either option is fine as long as the CTI RP does not need to actually register with CTI app. If this is just a relay point CTI RP then I have done configs with many DNs assigned to the same device.

  • How add a node of Callmanager to UCCX 7.0

    Hello friends,
    Please i need you help.
My customer have a CUCM 7.1.3 only a Publisher and a UCCX 7.0.1.
Today we will install and add a new callmanager to cluster of CUCM (a subscriber) and i need the steps for will configure this new callmanager in  the UCCX 7.0.
Please indicate the steps that i need to do, for that the UCCX will work with the new subscriber.
    Thanks a lot
    Guillermo Silva B

    Hi
    1) Start the necessary services for UCCX on the subscriber (CallManager, CTIManager, and AXL)
    2) In Unified CM Configuration in AppAdmin, assign the new subscriber in the 'selected' box for AXL, RM and JT
    3) Ensure that the Device Pool assigned to all CTI RPs, Ports etc has a CallManager group assigned that includes both the subscriber and the publisher.
That should be all - the config from the CUCM will be replicated to the sub so nothing else should be needed.

  • Can I use DHCP snooping and IOS DHCP server on the same switch stack

    Hello,
I am shortly going to be deploying a Cisco CallManager solution for a customer whose network comprises stacks of Catalyst 3850 switches.
There is no separate core/server farm switch so the CallManager servers, voice gateways and IP phones will all plug into the same stack and be in the same VLAN (not my choice!).
For security we want to enable DHCP snooping and were planning on using the IOS DHCP server on the Catalyst switch stack.
Will this work? - when I enable DHCP snooping in networks with separate access layer switches I set the uplinks to the core as trusted links.
I am not sure whether DHCP snooping will work in this case. Do I need to set the VLAN interface on the switch as trusted, is this even possible?
Unfortunately I do not have access to a layer 3 switch to test this at the moment.
    Thanks

    Nope.  That's the issue.
They'll sync on a third device acting as a hotspot, but the device sending a signal is not "on" the network it creates so the airport is all by itself on that network.  At least that is what it looks like to me.  Anyone have another take on it?  Seems pretty silly that an iPad can put out a wifi signal, an Airport Express can receive a wifi signal, and yet there is no simple way to get them to communicate under this particular condition.

  • Gateway router + Callmanager Configuration

We have a cisco-2821 router with vic-4FXO card.
We also have cisco callmanager-4.0 with 7940G IP Phones.
Want to configure gateway router in such a way that it connects to PSTN network and
flow of voice call should be from IP Phones behind CallManager to PSTN network and vice versa.
Pls post the configuration required in the callmanager server and gateway router to achieve this.
    Regards

Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP)-controlled backhaul of BRI signaling to Cisco CallManager allows centralized management of remote branch offices with BRI trunks. The ISDN D-channel signal information is backhauled to Cisco CallManager through a TCP session via the branch MGCP gateway. All Q.931 signaling messages are relayed back to the central Cisco CallManager without being parsed by the MGCP gateway.

  • UCCX login failed invalid user name and password

    Dear all,
Recently I removed the Ldap sync and re-established it back but after this I am unable to login into the
uccx appadmin page but am able to login into os admin page, when i checked in uccx service list
uxl and axl service is not running
    can any one guide me?

    Hi Abdul,
When you are able to see the UXL and the AXL service on the UCCX Serviceability, then I think you are running 8.5.1.10000-37 which is the UCCX 8.5.1 base version.
The UCCX AXL web Service and UXL web service has no impact on the Services and was imported from the VOS platform during the initial development of UCCX 8.x. This has no relation to the AXL integration with the CUCM.
To re-establish the AXL connectivity the only workaround is to use the CET tool or modify a file in root to trick the Appadmin to go to the Fresh install stage. Once done, the re-association of the administrators can be done.
Note: This can be done only by TAC as it involves remote account access.
Secondly, from UCCX 9.x, we have the Super User which is independent of AXL/CUCM and hence will be able to login to UCCX at all times.
    Regards,
    Arundeep

  • AIM-CUE and CCME

Good day, we have a new CCME 3845 Router including VIC2-4FXO,NM-HD-2V,EVM-HD-8FXS/DID,EM-HDA-6FXO modules, this will be used for our new project. Is it possible that the CCME Router will work well on IP Phones even without the AIM-CUE, because that is the only remaining device that need to install on the Router and we want to install now the Router at the Site while we are waiting for the AIM-CUE to arrive the IP Phones should work. Thanks and I will wait for your reply.

    Hi Mahmoud,
You should be fine to get started without the AIM-CUE. This will only prevent the setup of the Voicemail potion of the install :)

  • Griffin iMic fixed audio with callmanager 5.0

Has anyone had any luck getting the Griffin iMic USB fixed audio adapter working with CallManager 5.0 linux? Do I need to load any special drivers on the server?

I went through the Griffin iMic issue a month ago for an existing CCM 4.1 deployment.
After seeing on Griffin's website that their iMic is/was only certified for Windows XP and Mac OSX, I contacted their tech support. Below is their response to the Cisco MoH URL.
"That page is a Cisco document, not a Griffin document. We have never claimed compatibility with that system on our website or in any of our documentation. We have contacted Cisco a number of times asking them to remove the document because it has not been authorized by our company. If Cisco says they support it, then perhaps try contacting them, but we do not support the use of iMic in any other systems than Mac OSX and Windows XP SP 2."
I contacted the TAC and was given the same information that was found in the MoH documentation. No clarification.
I then contacted Cisco's PDI help desk and received the below responses.
Initial response: "The iMic cards that were supported are no longer in production. If you were able to get an older iMic card that supported Windows 2000, it will work with on the CallManager 3.3 servers, and will be supported by Cisco TAC. But the newer iMic2 cards are not supported."
Final response: "Since those cards are no longer available, we do not have a supported sound card for CallManager 4.x. I'm not sure if this is a valid option for you or not, but in a few weeks Cisco will have it's own sound card for CallManager 5.0, you could upgrade your CallManager."
    Hope this helps,
    Jason

  • Reporting and Report tools for CCM

Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some suggestions on reporting in CCM. To be a little more specific; for example if a few users complain they are tryin to make outbound calls, and getting a busy signal, is there any reporting tool that I can use to pinpoint the problem or eventually be able to say, hey we need another phone line, etc...
Also. User calls can complains that the calls they are making lack in quality, how do I report on this or research?

In order to determine if there are any records in the Structured Query Language (SQL) database, complete these steps:
Choose Start > Programs > SQL > Enterprise Manager > Microsoft SQL Servers > SQL Server Group.
    Choose Publisher Server > Databases.
Choose CDR > Tables. Right-click the CallDetailRecord table.
Choose Open Table > Return All Rows. Determine if there are any records.
If many records appear, complete this procedure to remove records from ART:
Choose Programs > SQL Server > Query Analyzer. Log in and choose ART database.
    Run these queries:
    delete from Tbl_Load_History
    delete from Tbl_Dump_PkID
    delete from Tbl_Error_Id_Map
    delete from Tbl_Billing_Data
    delete from Tbl_Billing_Error
    delete from Tbl_Dump_CallDetailRecord
    delete from Tbl_Dump_CallDetailRecordDiagnostic
This forces ART to get all the old CDRs into ART in the next scheduled loading time. By default, CDR data is loaded every day from midnight to 5 a.m.
Restart the CDR Insert and DBL Monitor Services from CCM Administration > Application >Cisco CCM Serviceability >Tools > Control Center.
Refer to the How can I manually purge the ART database? section of CallManager Issue Resolution with CDR and ART FAQ for more information.
Note: Information deletes from the ART database but not from the CDR.
Note: If you do not see any records, there are no CDR entries for that time and date range. Determine if conditions are met for CDR generation. CDR records are generated in these circumstances:
The service parameters CdrEnabled and CallDiagnosticsEnabled are set to True.
The call is established and has a talk duration greater than 0.
The call fails and has a cause code that reflects the error.
In order to set the service parameters, choose Service > Service Parameters, and make sure that the service parameters CdrEnabled and CallDiagnosticsEnabled are set to True in all of the Cisco CallManager servers, both publisher and subscriber.

  • 9951 and settings password

    Hi,
I had a 9951 on a callmanager 9.1.2 and I always could get in the administration settings menu of the phone.
The same phone is now registered on a CME 10 and suddenly there is this password to access the administrating settings menu.
In the CME I don't use any password in the SIP configuration (uses MAC for security)
I tried 'cisco' but it doesn't work.
Is there a default password, and how can I disable this password.
Using SCCP phones you can use the "service phone" command
Is there something similar for Cisco SIP phones?
    Thanks,
    JH

    Hello Karthik,
Thank you for your quick reply.
    Yes this is working, thanks.
Can I have the settings menu without password?
It is not really a big problem, just would like to know.
It seems that in CME (10) the default is that the administration menu is password protected, when I reregister the phone on callmanager 9, I can access the menu without password.
    Thanks,
    Jan

  • QOS for Switches - CallManager

CallManager 4.0 installed and i want to collect QOS statistics, we have Cisco 500 switches and 2950 switches which run QOS, however, when i check callManager there are no Statistics collected,
    please assist,

If your Gateway is H.323 all the calls that use that GW will be cataloge as NA since H.323
do not has the ability for QOS reports.
    1. if the endpoint device does not support CMR data (packet loss, jitter, etc.) This
includes all h323 devices, some mgcp, and some sccp devices
    2. if the call potentially matches multiple rules it may result in N/A:
If that is not our case make sure to enable the CMR records in the CCM Service Parameters, those records are the ones used for the QoS reports.
