CallStaticVoidMethod won't launch my app

Hi,
I'm trying to create a launcher application for our java app. I'm using c++ in visual studio 2008. I think I was able to load the jvm correctly because I could find the main class and "main" function. But when I execute CallStaticVoidMethod my java app doens't run. I tried changing the return type of my entry point to boolean, so I could check if its actually called and it was, but my app still doesn't run.
I verified that the parameters needed to run the java app is correct (using the command line). It didn't throw any exception so I kinda stuck on what to do next. What can I be missing here, can you give me a heads up on what the problem is?
Thanks,
Dan

Stupid me, I guess I wasn't reading carefully. Calling DestroyJavaVM solves the problem.Huh?
That method doesn't do anything in the Sun VM. Certainly shouldn't help in calling a JNI method even if it did.

Eggshell Design have you tried removing and reinstalling the Creative Cloud desktop application?  You can find the uninstaller in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.

  • MacBook Pro Won't Launch Some Apps

I have a Late 2007 MacBook Pro 17" (Santa Rosa).  For the past couple of months, I cannot launch some apps including:
    - iMovie (appears with a light under the dock but the window to actually use it never comes up)
    - iDVD (crashes with window that says that it quitted unexpectedly)
    - Final Cut Express 4 (crashes instantly)
    - LiveType (acts just like Final Cut)
    - and a whole lot more.
I have tried to reinstall all of these apps but they do the same thing over and over again.  I have also reinstalled Snow Leopard after a complete wipe of the hard drive.  Actually, I have even swapped the hard drive inside the MacBook Pro, but no avail!
So I have done these things:
    1. Reinstalled all of those apps.
    2. Reset PRAM.
    3. Reinstalled Snow Leopard from wiped hard drive.
    4. Reinstalled Snow Leopard after swapping in new hard drive.
After this, I brought the computer to the Genius Bar.  They've also reinstalled Snow Leopard twice and don't know what to do.  Right now I have a half-working MacBook Pro.  I am hoping you and other people on the internet know how to fix this.  I am lucky that the 17" MacBook Pro isn't mission critical because I have just gotten a new 15" MacBook Pro to replace it, but it would be nice to have the 17" working again as a secondary computer.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!
If this helps, there is a little history about this computer - I bought it new and around the second year the graphics card died.  It was the NVIDIA GeForce 8600m with 256mb of dedicated memory.  The logic board had been replaced by Apple and the machine is just over the second year with the new logic board.  Is it time for the second logic board's graphics card to die out?

Have a go at repairing the disk (why didn't it start up, i.e. what did it do/show exactly?)
Start up from your disk, or if on lion the Recovery HD by holding the alt button at startup and selecting it, then click the arrow underneath, select your language once the window comes up and click on DiskUtility at the bottom of the list in the main window.  Then select your Macintosh HD and "repair disk".  It will tell you if it thinks the disk is ok.  If you are starting up from a disk, DiskUtililty should be at the very top (the writing) under "Utilities", not the main window, which will only let you re-install the operating system.
Questions: what operating system?  All apps or just some?  Do you know anything else helpful, like installations, deletions just prior?  Font problems?

  • Mavericks won't launch downloaded apps

    Hi all,
this is my first post, and I'm writing from my new first MacBook!
I just bought it some weeks ago, and most of the time I had problems installing new apps dowloaded from the web.
When I had to install softwares from DMG they have always been working fine - I guess, as far as I remember.
But when it's about .zip files with apps in it, they never worked.
I tried to launch them from the same folder, to move them in Application, to move them on dock..they just won't start!
They don't bounce, they don't have open, they don't give any error message...anything at all!
Do you have any clue about how to solve this?
    Thanks!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • My iPhone 4S Won't Launch Any Apps! Please Help!

Hi there. I have a brand new iPhone 4S 64GB in White which I received direct from the Apple store earlier today in the UK. I upgraded from a 32GB White iPhone 4 which I had upgraded to IOS 5 on my Mac.
The phone seemed to be fine and after spending some time syncing all my apps and music I went to try it out.
Unfortunatly NONE of my apps will open. They just launch and then instantly close again. Only the pre-installed apps will work. EVERYTHING else just opens and instantly crashes.
Please can anyone help? Right now I'm doing a full wipe and restore to see if I can get it to launch anything.
    Not too happy

Just thought I'd update this. It seems my iTunes library file was corrupt, I had to delete it and re-install ALL my apps and re-organise all my music and books but everything seems fine now (touch wood).
No idea why it happened, hasn't happened before and there was no warning, funny that it happened as soon as I tried to use my 4S. I'm just glad the phone seems fine now but just wanted to post the solution on the off chance anyone else has the issue.

  • Vuescan won't launch since App Store Updates 17 APR

Since installing the Updates released 17 April namely Aperture Update 3.4.4, Java for OS X 2013-003 1.0, EPSON Printer Update 2.14, iPhoto Update 9.4.3 my installed versions of Vuescan freeze on launch.
    Anyone else?

I confirm that Ed Hamrick's updated VueScan v 9.2.14 completely solves the problem. I'd just like to record that his response to my support request was timely, courteous and effective. Well done, Ed!
I have to confess to having got my Mac Pro into a right mess as I attempted by fair means anf foul to revert to a pre-Epson Printer Drivers 2.14 update, with the result that I totally hosed my 'reference' volume and – what's more – even made the 2TB drive of which it is on one partition, not detected!
I've ended up by shutting down and disconnecting power to the Mac Pro and associated devices, emoving the 2TB drive – then on second thoughts putting it back in – and reconnecting power and re-booting. This time the drive and its partitions were seen, but I was plagued by odd Finder and App freezes … so, ended up by re-installing Mountain Lion and updating to current release etc. That done, everything is working as advertised. Took a lot of time, though, as does making bootable backups on one internal and two external drives.
Although my support request to Epson was auto-acknowledged, that has been follwed as yet by … a long silence!
Thanks be to Ed – and to all of you who have tried to help or shown an interest.

    Hi,
Install the v10.6.6 combo update available here. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.6. The combo includes fixes that were not included in the original update.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349
Restart your Mac and try the MAS again.
You can download apps directly from the MAS once you have it running.
Considering the TM backup took so long, make sure there's enough space on your Mac startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space.*

  • My apps won't launch & menu bar missing all top left icons!!!

A strange concurrence of multiple problems:
I am a pretty advanced user and have an iBook G4/1.33 GHz running Tiger 10.4.8, but I am having trouble with my PowerMac G4/500 MHz running 10.3.9 right now. I keep my PowerMac in Panther since it is almost 7 years old and I only have Tiger on my iBook disc.
Suddenly a few things started to happen at once yesterday:
    1) NONE of the top right menu bar icons (OS 9 status, modem status, iChat, monitors, AirPort, Volume, clock, etc. show up upon log-in or restart.
    2) Virtually NONE of my apps will launch from the Dock or the Finder. They bounce a few times then give up, with no error message.
I peformed successful repairs booting from both the OS X Panther disc and TechTool Deluxe. Although recommended, I can't create a TEST User because System Prefs won't launch, can't repair permissions from the problematic drive because Disk Utility won't launch, and I can't clear out caches because Cocktail won't launch.
I made sure the Application Support Folder in my Home Library had read/write permissions for me and applied to all enclosing folders as suggested. I tried trashing the com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist preference in my Home Library also as suggested. However, it wouldn't allow me to remove the Launch Services file in the Caches folder of the main Library Folder as I also read here in the discussions.
Aside from successfully running disc repairs from the startup disc and TechTool, I tried repairing permissions from the startup CD as well (since couldn't launch any apps like Disk Utility from regular startup drive). Every time I try to repair in this manner though, after a minute it tells me "Disk Utility lost connection with Disk Managment" and I must quit and relaunch Disk Utility. However, same thing happens when I do, for both my drives running copies of OS X 10.3.9.
Only thing I can think of is to do an Archive/Reinstall of one of the two OS X systems on two different drives. But does anyone else have a clue what is causing this or what I need to try??? I read similar stories on here but nothing will all these symptoms at once.
I would REALLY appreciate some input, thanks!!!
PowerMac G4/500 MHz (1 GB); iBook G4/1.33 GHz (1.5 GB)   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   (still using 10.3.9 Panther on PowerMac)

    Menu Bar Problems ..........
Check the following link for OS X troubleshooting steps. When doing so, following all steps in the order provided:
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/repairprocess.html
1 If resetting permissions doesn't help, you may have a corrupt preference file... Delete....
    Delete ~/Library/Caches (folder)
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.systemuiserver.xxx.plist
where 'xxx' is a 12 digit (hexadecimal) numeric string
    • Then log out and back in again. You may need to go to System Preferences to put back the menu items you need to display.
    • Removing systemuiserver.plist will cause the right half of the menubar back
    its original pristine default state.
    2. Check Preferences Thoroughly;
    - Navigate to ~/Library and drag the "Preferences" folder to the desktop.
    - Restart and test your applications.
    • If this does not work, move the "Preferece" folder back to ~/Library
    • If this works, delete the old preferences folder. (You'll have to go through some of your System Preferences and apps to set the preferences back to how you like them).
    3. Navigate to ~/Library and drag the "Fonts" folder to the desktop.
    - Restart and test your applications.
    - If they work start adding the fonts back few at a time.
( A likely suspect is Time RO, also if you do not use Classic you can trash the classic fonts.)
    4. Check Permissions Inside Home Folder
    - Navigate to ~/Library.
    - Get Info (Command + i) on the "Applications Support" folder.
    - Open the "Ownership & permissions" flippy triangle.
    - Make sure you are the owner, with "read and write" access.
    - Click on "apply to all"
    - If this is correct, open the "Applications Support" folder and do the same procedure (Command+I) for the folders with the names of the applications you are having trouble with.
Note...The reason to check this is because repairing permissions with Disk Utility doesn't touch permissions inside your home folder.
    • Create a new User.... go to System Preferences/ Accounts and click on "+" at bottom left of window..... and test the apps in this new account if they work the problem is isolated to your User
    (~ means your home directory)

  • CC Apps won't launch in OS X 10.10 (CC itself works fine)

Hi - I've recently updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite (not by choice I might add).
I hadn't used CC or any of the CC apps since upgrading last week, today I try and launch Illustrator - no joy. The icon bounces in the dock once, the dock widens momentarily as if another application was trying to launch, but nothing happens. No splash screen, no error message, nothing.
I tried to open other installed apps - InDesign and Photoshop - no joy.
I've since uninstalled EVERYTHING by adobe from the Mac, reinstalled CC and downloaded fresh versions of Illustrator and InDesign. Unfortunately this hasn't fixed the issue.
I've scoured the forums and although I've found fixes for problems with CC loading itself, I can't find anything to help me figure out why the apps themselves won't launch, and how I can fix it.
Any help much appreciated - I've been trying for about 2 hours now and am seriously starting to get behind on my work!

...Turns out the ONE obvious thing I hadn't tried was to go into the CC App itself, into preferences, then log out of my Adobe account and back in again - fixed the issue!
I couldn't believe its so simple and feel a bit stupid - but I had completely uninstalled the main CC App then re-downloaded it from Adobe, it downloaded already logged in as I was logged in on the website.
I hope this helps someone else with the same issue, as I had scoured the forums and the Adobe FAQ pages and hadn't found any solution. I stumbled across this whilst waiting for an agent to answer on the live chat!

  • Windows 10 Apps won't launch

It seems like none of my Win10 Apps want to launch and load up. I hit the icon for the app and it appears to start but it closes itself around 1s after launching. Xbox, Mail and others won't start. They were working fine until I changed some settings in

  • IPhone 3rd party apps won't launch anymore!

After updating the iPhone software to 3.1, a host of 3rd-party apps won't launch anymore (appear for 1 second, then revert back to the apps icons page).
I've tried upgrading to iTunes 9, uninstalling then reinstalling ALL apps on the iPhone via iTunes, hard rebooting my iPhone, restarting my iMac, etc etc, but nothing works.
On a iPhone 3Gs page on the Forums, I saw many others having similar difficulties and blaming it on the XX upgrade. One solution proposed there was to download a free app from the App Store and install it. Tried that, and it didn't work for me.
I hope Apple will give this attention, because it's basically disabled my iPhone's business-sensitive functionalities (like 1Password) on the eve of a 2week business trip ... and on business trips, I don't have my iMac with me! >:-(
In case it helps the OS is showing as 3.1 (7C144) on my device.

    Hi!
I may have a solution to your problem. I updated to Firmware 3.1 today and couldn´t open any application i downloaded. I seems the updated version of iTunes handles apps a little different from before. When you connect your iPhone and it pops up in iTunes, right click on it to enter your configuration area (for the iPhone). At the top bar you have a row of options like music, pictures, podcast and somewhere in the middle you have the option "Programs". Click on that and you will see a list of all the programs you have downloaded in iTunes. Unfortunatly you have to recheck all the boxes at the left side of the program you want to be synched to your iPhone. Check these boxes and click "Apply" at the bottom right and iTunes will now transfer them to your iPhone. Easy breasy when you know how to do.
    Best of luck, Cheers!
