Camera stuck on video

Camera stuck on video and unable to switch to photo. Tried switching on and off but no joy :-)

If the app is actually stuck or frozen, the reset suggested by Skydiver should help. If you just don't know how to switch from one mode to another in the camera app, you swipe up or down to get from one mode to another - not left to right.

  • IPad camera stuck in video

While using the camera in video mode I was unable to switch back to normal photo mode. The only way out was to double click then swipe up the camera app to restart it.

Agreed, not sure why they would have made that change, but oh well, what can ya do?.
    Have a great day!

  • HT1414 My new ipad mini does not allow me to switch between modes in the built-camera app. It is stuck on video mode. Can anyone advise?

My new ipad mini will not let me switch between modes when using the built in camera app. It is stuck on Video mode. I am unable to take photos, although I could when I first used it. Could this be a fault with the pad or with the new 7.0.4 update? Can anyone help please?

Have you tried to force quit the app? Double tap the home button. Scroll sideways if needed to see the icon and preview for the camera app. Flip that app up and off the screen to close it then single tap on the home screen preview or single tap the home button to exit the mode.
Try your camera app again and see if you can switch modes.
When you switch modes, you do have to drag the words, not just tap on the video word, if that makes any sense. When you try to go from video to photo, do you try to drag the photo word to the front?

  • Which cable do I need to connect my Mac Book Pro to my Panasonic PV-GS150 video camera for transferring video to iMovie?

which cable do I need to connect my Mac Book Pro to my Panasonic PV-GS150 video camera for transferring video to iMovie?

    I totally understand.
Check some things from here, I have 2 and they have been great so far.
Check here, lots of storage and reasonable prices. Also great support, you get to speak to a person
Clean off your on the G5 drive and off you go.
I suggest buying a second drive and setting it up for a back up, Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper (both "bootable" back up) All searchable on the web.

You can talk to a person for REAL advice, Phone: 800.275.4576  Ask about exporting to your G5 and and exporting to your existing OSX, you may only need a small inexpensive drive for this.
Quick delivery and willing to help.
Hope this makes you back up and running :-)
Do get a back up drive, as it is not ""whether my drive will fail, as much as "when my drive fails"

  • Have old video tapes; compact VHS. Have camera with S-video out

Have compact VHS tape archive. Have camera with S-video out & good VHS player/adapter with S-Video out. Also have old PC with dedicated hardware capture card/cable and Pinnacle Studio. Am considering starting over with purchasing iMac for editing. I could capture on the old PC and move files to iMac. If I want to do it all on iMac, what is the best way to capture and what do i need?

TExcellent suggestion! Read about it, ordered it on Wednesday and I just captured a S-VHS-C through the box from my camera to my old iMovie 6.0.3 on my G4. Worked right out of the box as advertised. Now I can experiment a bit while I muse about that I7/27" iMac I'm going to buy. I also went to the Apple workshop on IMovie/iDVD. It's a long way from my old Pinnacle Studio.

  • Can you move a video taken on the iPad from the camera roll to 'Videos' without syncing through iPhoto?

Pretty simple question that I can not figure out the answer to. Can you move a video taken on the iPad from the camera roll to 'videos' on the go?

I can do it on my iPhone and, according to the iPad manual (p. 58), you can do it on an iPad.
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • CANT GET MY CAMERA TO UPLOAD VIDEO!

So i got a Kodak EasyShare C813, ive already put about 1000 pics on iPhoto but when i try to import my video clips to iMovie it says theres no camera connected. Is the camera too advanced for OS X 10.2.8? or is there something i can do? i dont really wanna spend any money for a new operating system yet and im sure as **** not gonna go get a new camera...
    SOMEBODY HELP!

Suggest you buy (about $10 - $20) a USB memory card reader. Just plug your camera's memory card into it & copy the pic/video files to your Mac. Quicker & easier than interfacing the camera for pic/video transfer.

  • Can't access camera for group video calls

I seem to be unable to access the camera function for video conferencing.  I have a windows 8 , 64 bit operating system and I am wondering if there is a specific thing that needs to be addressed.  Even when I close out ecery other program open and reboot the PC, it says that it cannot access it even though as far as I know it is not being accessed by any other program.  Any suggestions?

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • I cannot get CS6 to recognize my Sony DCR-TRV340 camera for capturing video from that camera.  CS6 c

I cannot get CS6 to recognize my Sony DCR-TRV340 camera for capturing video from that camera.  The CS6 capture box keeps putting up a message that capture device is off line.  The Sony DCR-TRV340 camera is not listed in the CS6 Device Type  list in the CS6 DV/HDV device control settings box of Sony cameras.  I've downloaded what I think are the correct drivers for the TRV340, and when I plug the camera into the computer, the computer shows it listed in the devices and printers box, but CS6 will not recognize it.  Do I need to install these drivers into a specific folder in the CS6 program?  If so, where do I find these drivers in the windows 7 professional operating system, and into which CS6 file folder would I copy them to?

Most camera's are not listed in Device controle, set it to Sony and generic. Yours is very old its a Digital 8 camera (I still got a TRV210). Johns second link wont work with your camera.
You do not need to download drivers nor do you need to install anything. Most likely its the Legacy driver.
    Read though this document.

General rule is connect camera to pc wait until windows reconigzes the camera.
    Fire up Premiere and capture.
Never connect the camera to pc when the camera is on.

  • Smooth Cam on interlaced video

I am trying to use the Smooth Cam node on video shot at 29 frames a second. I have had good luck in the past using 24 frame footage shot using the P2 cards for the Panasonic HVX-200 but this time I am using footage shot on miniDV. The problem is there is noticiable motion blur. Is there any way to help smooth that out and make it look better?
    Thanks,
    cja

I have followed the steps of the tutorial " Using Shake to Remove the Shakes" that can be found here (for free) : http://www.rippletraining.com/engine/ripplecasts.html with impressive results from dv footage.
If I remember well deinterlacing was requested. Of course results may vary because good and bad's subjective...but it's worth a look!

  • Nikon Camera .mov iPod video

    Hi
I understand that I can utilise Apple's Camera Connector, Belkin's Camera Link or Belkin's Media Reader to move images either directly from my camera / CF Card to the iPod video.
However, in addition to still images, my Nikon shoots reasonable 640x480 Quicktime movies. What I'd like to know is whether any of these devices (or similar) could be used to move .mov video files from the camera/card to the iPod.
I'm traveling to India for a month and would prefer not to take a powerbook with me. I'm hoping I can find a way to get all the media from my CF card directly onto the iPod.
btw. (this would be a bonus but not essential.) If I managed to transer a 640x480 .mov onto the iPod, would it play?

My review for Connector posted yesterday:
"Great Potential but not mature (yet).
Connector is a great idea and interface between our 30Gb iPod (video) and Canon Powershot S80 works basically fine. Connector delivers as promised, but -unlike Apple- the provided software support and functionality by current version of iPod software (v1.0.0) is far too minimal:
    - you can't make a (previewed) selection of images to be transferred. It's ‘all or nothing’ and ‘images only’ transfer (jpeg). Sadfully other camera content like video files, is ignored. Therefore you can only free up the camera memory space used by images. OK, immediately viewing those camera produced avi's is too much asked considering capabilities of current iPod’s and its file type support, but just basic transfer of all camera data as mature backup medium should be (made) possible.
    - Transfer speed is very slow. Even though they both support USB2.0 current throughput is about 15-30 minutes per 1GB (worse than USB1.1 spec!) and drains batteries rapidly. Because of that you run the risk of running out of batteries on either unit before complete transfer is finished, especially with nowadays common but big memory cards. This wouldn’t be that much of a problem if smaller selections of camera content were possible or USB2.0 transfer speed was really achieved (60GB/s)…
If Apple is able to improve compatibility, performance and feature set through future iPod software updates, the usefulness of this Connector is promising.
For now limited use (still need extra camera mem-cards), but cheap ‘gadget’ (modern camera’s come with 2,5” screens for viewing too)…"
Therefore answer to your 1st question if transfer of .mov from Nikon2iPod through Connector will work: Not sure, but unlikely since softwaresupport for Connector within Ipod (Photo & Video) is currently aimed for transferring and viewing photos (Jpeg) ONLY.
2nd question "will 640x480 play on iPod": NO, maximum support is 480x480 mov
Good luck & have fun in India
    Robert
