Camera Updates

Hello Adobe world,
With the use of LR I am a new member of the Adobe family. So I really don't know the answer to this question, please bear with me.... Thanks.
How does Adobe roll out new camera support for ACR and now LR? Is it with program updates? Or does Adobe send out "patches" or the like to support the new cameras?
So in other words, will I have to wait for LR 1.x something for support of the new cameras from Canon? Or will Adobe release a small patch for 1.1 that adds support with out having to wait for the next Point release? Does this make sense?
Finally, after 4 years, I feel there is a camera worth upgrading from my D60 for. But I won't even consider buying it until LR can handle the files. I really don't want a shiny new cam and not be able to use it with my favorite software!! Know what I mean.

Thanks again. So if that is close to the timing than by the time stock will be available for me to purchase the new cam the update for LR may be out as well. Hopefully the timing isn't too close to the next release that the new canons won't be included until the next,next update! LOL

Autofocus and touch focus on 3G 2megapixel camera update needed badly

Well after seeing the new specs of the 3GS, tho the camera is better. i would have still liked to have seen something good for the camera on the 3G model of which i recently brought, only to find the new iphones sudden release. Tho i love my 3G i was feeling a bit disheartened by the new model. But as i feel people who own a 3G would like to see some kind of Camera update and possible video option update on the 3G, as im very sure the 3G can handle the software.
So if you support this idea, please, lets get Apples attention and let them know we would love to see some camera function improvment on the 3G.
i would go as far to pay even a small fee for the update if that was the case.

well yup i had a feeling about that. but what would be nice is some kind of new functions at least. just a pity ya cant buy the camera parts n do it yaself lol
but i cant help thinking that the lens in the 3G has already got the capability of a lens in it. and apple aint telling us jack **** bout it.
aint there some kind of natural focus on lens? as im not all cracked up on camera stuff, lol. i just know how to take piccys.lol. a bit think of me to say, but hey thats why the forums are here.

Will not start even in safe boot after installing latest camera update

MacBook Pro will not start even in safe boot after installing latest camera update.
I started my machine and did a software update. Only the camera update needed. So installed and when required I pressed restart. It restarted and did install. Then restarted again. I expected to get to the login screen and it turned itself off. Tried three more times. Each time shutting off. I unplugged everything, and pressed start waiting for log in window. No it shutdown before the log in window. I then tried safe mode and that did not work either on three more occasions.

I have managed to resolve some issues. I can now restart the machine via a CD boot. If I do cmd C into something like tech tool pro, then restart from that disks menu it restarts every time.
If I try a safe start it shuts down. If I try a normal start it shuts down. I have managed to repair permissions and that cleared up some start up permissions but with no improvement to the boot problem. The only way to load is via the cmd-C boot option. Any other ideas?

Gallery and camera update for Belle FP2.

I just installed the update which is available today via software update using Nokia Suite.
I'm happy that I got back the mark option to send multiple files.
There's an extra preference option provided in camera but it is still taking time for the camera to start after phone is started.

After the recent update of gallery and camera on 808 and 701, which allows finally the multiple selection, I've found on both devices that if you select 2 or more photos in the gallery and then you send them by email, the email app closes suddenly and you can find the message with attached photos in drafts. But just 2 photos. If you select 3 or more, only 2 will be attached. If you choose just one, it works as previously, you open a new message and then you can edit it etc.
Have you the same issue?
Yes, everybody had got this. It's always been there. On the 700 and on the 808, FP1 and FP2. Actually the gallery/camera update has improved it a bit. One can now email 2-3 pics. Before the update even 1 pic rarely worked.
Really serious problem with no organization of the report without album and all photos in one place has been reported ?? course the problem is not solved in any way with the extra apps from the store which is slow without a good support

The issue seems to be caused by the mechanism involved in the Send / Email dialogue which is present in the Gallery app, and in various other apps which also fail the same way.
Whereas if you start up the email app, create a fresh email and then add the pics (as attachments) to it, you can send as many as you like, with the email size limited only by the various SMTP server limits. I have emailed 50MB emails, though most people are limited to about 10MB by their ISP or network.

Has RX-100 Lens correction disappeared again? post RAW Camera Update 4.09

On a fairly new imac running 10.8.5 and iphoto 11 (9.4.3) A further RAW camera Update seems to have returned an issue with a Sony RX100, and lens correction has dissappeared.

RAW support 5.03 is now available and it reports to correct this issue

Red eye removal feature missing in camera update

Is there a red eye removal tool in the new camera update? This was available before the update.

Hi xbee167. I use my phone to take pictures of my family all the time, so I know how important some editing tools may be. The red eye removal is not in a current feature of the camera. Google Play offers lots of fantastic picture editing applications you may find useful for removing red eye among lots of other things. Simply tap your Play icon and then search for key words like "edit pictures" to find all the great applications you can use.

Pro camera update on Lumia 1020

Hi all
Just downloaded the pro camera update for the Lumia 1020 and am impressed, Macro seems considerably better, if you switch to macro mode they seem to fixed the issue where it popped out of focus, it also seems a lot faster to shoot as well.
One slight gripe I have is that I can't find any release notes for the new app, I want a list of what's been fixed and what's been added but I can't find anything apart from the little demo when you start it up. But I want detail lots and lots of lovely techy detail.
Also saw the tweet about RAW support coming after Christmas...awesomeness continues...

When I did the update for my Lumia 1020 from Pro Cam to "Nokia Camera" I lost the ability to zoom & reframe images.
Did they change the way they save reframed images or are other people experiencing the same issue?

The C7 lacking autofocus is not a problem of software but the camera itself. The camera module lacks the moving parts for autofocus, thus no matter what you do, you wont get autofocus.
For those who are complaining about paying for the phone with no autofocus, then you shouldn't have bought it. Its been published almost everywhere that the phone has no autofocus.

RAW Camera Update 3.1 crashed and destroyed disk

I installed RAW Camera Update 3.1 on my MacBook Pro. (I had previously installed it successfully on another computer.) After going through the usual installation screens, an alert reported that the installation had failed and I should try installing again. I decided to restart the computer first so that I would have a clean boot to work with. On restart, a progress indicator appeared while the Apple icon was showing in the center of the screen; then the progress indicator restarted; then the computer shut down. This now happens every time I try to boot from the internal startup disk.
So I restarted from a 10.6.2 external startup disk. An alert reported that the internal startup disk was invalid, that I can still copy files from it but cannot save files to it, and that I should reformat the disk and reinstall everything. Typically, for me, this is a task that takes about a week, and I would like to avoid having to do it.
Is there any other solution? What happened?

Disk Utility and TechTool Pro could not fix the startup disk, but Disk Warrior saved the day!

Install Camera update

Hello.
I have updated my N8 few days ago and now i´m trying to install the camera update but i get and error like: "can not install the update is already installed".... but i have not autofocus etc.
Any help?

WARNING: Camera update breaks the Encore

You may want to skip the current camera update released via Windows Update, at least with the Encore 1. If you've already installed it, go into Device Manager and roll back the driver. Your camera will suddenly work again. You may want to hide the update in Windows Update because if you tick it again by mistake your camera will fall over again.

Since doing the roll back and restart I haven't been able to see the cameras anywhere, in any apps that I have got. Does anybody know where the drivers are kept on the Toshiba site?

As many of you noticed, the current version of the camera update for N8 doesn't have 30fps enabled: the frame rate is left unchanged at 25fps. This comes from a configuration mistake. We are really sorry about this mistake and are working hard to address it.
We will update the package very soon with the 30fps functionality enabled. And we will let you know as soon as that fix becomes available.

N8 camera update erro

i accidently uninstalled 'camera application' file from the application manager.
when i again installed the beta lab update its give a error "update error .. component is built in"
and now i cannot update to 9.32(6)
what to do ??
i've already reinstalled the whole firmware but still not able to install it ..

Missing 30fps & autofocus in the N8 camera update

I have updated my N8 with the cam update from Beta Labs. Restarted the N8 and the only changes that I can see, are the UI tweakes.
No autofocus option, no 30 fps after filming.
What can I do, Nokia ??? I think that this is really a beta test, not that lie you told that you don't want to put this in a Nokia update.

4.7.2.5 Camera update causing problems on 1020

Anyone else experiencing issues with the latest Nokia Camera update? Here's what I'm running into:
-OneDrive integration isn't functioning correctly. I have my 1020 set to auto-upload at best quality. If I take a picture while connected to my WiFi network, I can't reframe pictures. It usually crashes the app, or the reframe doesn't save. I think it's because OneDrive locks the file down, but this wasn't an issue before the update.
-More OneDrive problems: Since the update, OneDrive is uploading the 34/38MP version of the file, NOT the 5MP copy. Before the update, the 5MP files went to OneDrive and the 34MP files stayed on the phone.
I think there's some inconsistent behavior with Camera and the Photos app. You can't go from the Camera to the Gallery correctly anymore, and I'm not sure if this is part of the problem?
I'm asking for help, but I don't think anything can be done until the app is updated again. Is there a way to revert to the previous version of Nokia Camera?
Running 8.1 preview, BTW.

No, I had 8.1 on the phone prior to that, it wasn't until the 4.7.2.5 Camera update that problems arose. They changed the way you "reframe" the photos with that update, and it seems to really mess with OneDrive syncing. Pictures I've reframed get auto-uploaded in the original (not reframed) format. Both picture files appear on the phone, but the copy that ends up on OneDrive is a 9-10MB file (versus the usual 2-3MB). Oddly enough, the uploaded pictures don't end in "_highres" despite being the 34MP version.
It is very odd behavior.
