Can a javascript rollover in html call an external .swf?

I would like to change the code below to replace the target image with an external .swf.
It is now replacing the target with a gif, homePrintImage0.gif.
Is this possible?

<a href="#"onClick="MyWindow=window.open('popup.html','poppup','toolbar=no,location=no,direc tories=no, status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=no,width=500,height=500,left=50,top=50'); return false;">

Thanks in advance.
Karen

I was just thinking that if it's a super simple animation, a gif would work. of course if it's more complex, you might want the flash. Maybe you could make your whole menu flash?

• Place button rollover image on top of external swf

I have a menu that when you click on a button, an external swf is called up. However I would like for the buttons in the Over and Down state to show an image on top of the external swf with a description of what the video is about (Basically when they rollover the button).
The problem is that the image shows behind the external swf. I cannot get it to appear on top of the external swf. I have tried putting the buttons layer on top of the actions layer but that doesn't work.
I have not been using Flash for very long but I need to know if there is ActionScipt that can solve my problem or any other way to solve this issue. Please help. Thank you.

This is what appeared now in my Output panel.

• XML TREE calling external .swf

Thanks to some research and the help from you guys, I am
getting the hand of
this XML tree business for Flash 8.
Now, my question to you is this:
How can I create a clickable link for (let's say) my nome
Fornecedor 1.
I would like to click on this link and call an external .swf,
which I would
load into an empty MC.
Thanks again!

• How can HTML call a Flash movie?

Greetings Everyone!
I'm sincerely hoping that someone has the answer for me. I'm
a newbie, but trying so very hard to understand... :) I've read
books, pages & pages of this forum, 'net searches - I haven't
found a complete answer to my challenge so far - thanks in advance
for any help you can give...
Here's where things are:
1) I've created a series of swf Flash movies that loop (at a
particular size so they can play inside of an html table cell)
2) I've created html buttons in another cell
What I'm trying to do:
1) Like a swap file in HTML (where you click a button and an
image changes elsewhere on the page, click another button, and that
image swaps to a different image file)
I want to have a flash movie play on a click of a button, click
another button, and a different flash movie plays in the same
spot.
The challenge is the interaction between Dreamweaver and
Flash and getting HTML to talk to Flash.
Here's the code direction I've been heading ...
...IN MY HTML code...
I have a onMouseClick event for each button link. In this
code I set some variable names inside it.
onMouseClick="setFlashVariables('sendmovie','myMovie=activeMovie1')"
---- this would be for button 1.
onMouseClick=
"setFlashVariables('sendmovie','myMovie=activeMovie2')" ---- this
would be for button 2
onMouseClick
="setFlashVariables('sendmovie','myMovie=activeMovie3')" ---- this
would be for button 3
Basically, I'm setting a 'myMovie' variable to 'activeMovie1'
or 'activeMovie2' or 'activeMovie3' when one of the buttons is
clicked.
If 'myMovie' variable is equal to 'activeMovie1' by clicking
a link, this will tell a flash movie: (" Hey flash! Variable
'myMovie' is equal to 'activeMovie1'. Act accordingly."). When the
2nd button is clicked, 'myMovie' will be equal to 'activeMovie2'
and so on.
I need to declare the 'myMovie' variable in my flash movie -
how do I do that?
...IN FLASH...
1. I need to create one variable which will act as a variable
receiver from HTML. (What I called "myMovie")
2. I gather I need to create an IF statement so that
"myMovie" is set to which "activeMovie" ( it could be
activeMovie1/activeMovie2/activeMovie3 etc ) ,
----->Question:
Where should the IF statement be and
How should it be written?
Admittedly I don't know Action Script 3 very well.
if myMovie is equal to "activeMovie1"
then load a movie. (This movie will be a movie related to my
1 Button.)
else if myMovie is equal to "activeMovie2"
then load a movie. ((This movie will be a movie related to
your 2 Button.)
else if myMovie is equal to "activeMovie3"
then load a movie. ((This movie will be a movie related to
your 3 Button.)
Here's where I'm stuck....
1) If I've already made my movies into swf files where does
an IF statement go?
2) I'm missing the mechanics of how to connect the dots here
- how do I get button 1 to load movie 1 and start playing
automatically? When I click button 2, movie 1 is replaced by movie
2 and starts playing automatically.
It's a detailed explanation (I know) - I'm hoping someone has
an answer for me that's equally explicit. Thanks so much much for
taking the time to read it!!

Anybody?

• How can I detect in Business HTML that the app was called from portal?

How can I detect in Business HTML that the app was called from portal?
I need to distinguish whether the application was called from portal (URL iView) or by using an URL outside of portal.
So what I'm looking for is a variable or function that can be used like this:
`if (~within_portal==1)`
do this if called from portal
`else;`
do that if not called from portal
`end;`
For example, can I check in the program that there is a SSO2 cookie from the portal?
I'm using Integrated ITS in Basis 700.

Here is the trick:
if (sapwp_active=="1")
in portal
else
without portal
end;

• ...can HTML call out a Flash element? (swf)

Greetings!
Haven't had success so far in finding an answer to this -
huge thanks in advance if you can help ...
Here's where things are:
1) I've created 5 swf Flash movies that loop (at a particular
size so they can play inside of an html table cell)
2) I've created 5 html buttons in another cell
What I'm trying to do:

button, and a different flash movie swaps places with it and starts
to play automatically.
Can this be done?? If yes, please how do I do it ???
The challenge seems to be the interaction between Dreamweaver
and Flash and getting HTML to talk to Flash - and when a movie
loads
that it's active.
Thanks again.

Best bet will probably be to do the whole thing in Flash.

• Can a page On Load process call Javascript API?

I am trying to use $s_Hide for some page items when the page loads. Can an 'On Load' page process call $s_Hide API? if yes, share code example please?! If not, what is the right way to accomplish it?
Thanks,
Yivon, Newbie in JAVA

Normaly, you can put this script into the region footer. However, you can wrap it into a PL/SQL block like in this example:

I've been currently searching and I've found JSNI which can write
javascript code in the java, but i can't seem to get it work the right
way.
Thank you in advance.

Steve,
Webflow is a server side technology. The only way to affect the invocation of
webflow from the client side is to change the origin and event parameters sent
to the webflow engine. These parameters must be passed via a request. There simply
is no way to interact with the webflow engine without a request/response.
OK, you may be able to hack something together using an Applet, RMI, and by using
internal webflow APIs. But you don't want to do that; that's not really an option.
Is there a way to call javascript methods
from BEA's tag libs? No.
Do I need to write my own tags and make
references to the objects that are used for webflow?I assume you mean that you would create custom JSP tags that would invoke directly
IPs and PCs. This would not accomplish what you want and would defeat the webflow
architecture.
Here is what you can do:
1) you could create your own custom JSP taglib that would insert JavaScript into
the HTML form along with the tag. I don't know how hard this would be.
2) you could forget about using JSP tags, and simply use a JavaScript library.
You would need to code your HTML properly to use this technique. I did a search
on www.google.com and found a good article on exactly how to do this:
http://www.zdnet.com/devhead/stories/articles/0,4413,2326270,00.html
Post back if you have more questions.

Okay, webflow is cool and all, but I'd like to be able to do both client-side
and server-side validation. Server-side is taken care of with the InputProcessors,
but there's not a way to do onSubmit or onChange using the proprietary
webflow tags.
Question: How do I do this? Do I need to write my own tags and make
references to the objects that are used for webflow?
I'd really like to be able to encapsulate all this at once.
Maybe I just need to ask this: is there a way to call javascript methods
from BEA's tag libs? Maybe there's a trick I don't know.

• Calling method from SWF file wtih javascript, when swf file is not loaded in any browser

Hi There,
I have a question regarding flex and javascript integration:
1. We have created certain components and bundle them in swf. these swf file uses webservice to connect to backend code written in java.
2. We have deployed swf file and backend on the same tomcat server.
3. Backend server send some datapoint to UI and plot graph and displyaed to user.
4. Now if user generate graph from datapoint and want to export it, we are tranferring image of that graph from UI to backend. No issues in this process.
5. Now the question is. let say user has not open any swf file in browser and backend scheduling job want to generate the graph. How we will connect to swf file.
6. Is ther any way we can connect or call method of swf from java/jsp/html/javascript code in this scenario without loading swf file in browser??
Please help me!!!
Thanks
Sonu Kumar

Both test sites work just fine for me.
The "Update plugin" message is exactly what would be displayed if no .swfobject file at all was found... so it may not be the "version11" thing but rather, perhaps something else is messed up with the .swfobject file.
File can be found in both folders:
http://www.pureimaginationcakes.com/test/Scripts/swfobject_modified.js
http://www.pureimaginationcakes.com/Scripts/swfobject_modified.js
and file does download when downloading the html page (just check the cache).... but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working.... Hummmmm????

• How can I embed an DOCTYPE HTML Form from Adobe Forms central into a responsive html5 page?

How can I embed an DOCTYPE HTML Form from Adobe Forms central into a responsive html5 page?
-Luis

Hi,
You can embed the form on your website, but you need to make sure that javascript has been enabled in the browser. You need to copy the embed code and add it into your HTML code. If you would like FormsCentral to generate embeded HTML form without using javascript, you may post a feature request and vote it. Hope it helps! Thanks!

• Can Data Be Written To A Called PDF When Using Adobe Reader 9?

Can data be written and saved to another called pdf when using Adobe READER 9?

You'll have to expand on your description for a full answer - but all things considered, it would be possible.
If the "called" (this is one of the things you need to clarify - do you mean a PDF opened via the JavaScript openDoc method?) PDF discloses itself, then the "calling" PDF can execute an importXFDF or similar call on that PDF as long as they are Reader Extended.
Past that, you'll need to give us more information on exactly what you're trying to do.

• Javascript in offline html

Hallo.
I have a simple question.
Is javascript in offline html supporteted in DSP?
I tried to place very very simple html with one row javascript into my article. Updating article to the server takes hours!!! .
DL from server to iPad is impossible

I have gotten it to work without a problem. I create an folder for the page and save the inDesign file within that folder, additionally I include a folder named "html" and within that folder I structure the files just like I would on a server, images, js and css folders all linked within the .html. I have used Javascript to embed web pages within the inDesign/DPS workflow that serve as multiple choice quizes, fill in the blank questions and displaying of Twitter feeds. You can even use javascript along with the localstorage function in HTML5 to store answers to questions so that when the iPad is turned off the user's answers are remembered. I have never had a problem uploading, downloading and testing in the content viewer. You may want to delete your pages, recreate and upload.

• Is there a CUCM API which can be used to see what calls are in progress?

Hello All,
I am trying to build a basic monitoring application which will display a list of calls in progress along with endpoint information such as IP address etc
Is there a CUCM API which can be used to see what calls are in progress?
Thanks
Matt

Matt,
It looks like another person had a similar question before, see the following thread:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/9697836/can-use-axl-or-other-api-get-calls-progress
Also, according to the comments seen on that post, I was able to find the JTAPI developers guide, see more information below:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/jtapi_dev/8_6_1/jtapidevguide/overview.html
If this still does not satisfy your question then, the best you can do is post this inquiry on the Cisco Developer Network on the following link:

Hope this information helps,

• [AIR] Drag Problem (parent & children can receive d&d and HTML Control)

Hi,
I have a problem regarding drag and drop in AIR. The d&d involving parent & children that can receive d&d event and the children can contain HTML control. You might want to copy and paste the code below to get a better idea.
The objectives are:
1. If you drag the green object and drop it in the black area, it should alert "Parent Drop"
2. If you drag the green object and drop it in the magenta (purple) color, it should alert "Child Drop"
3. If you drag the green object and drop it in the white (HTML control) color, it should alert "HTML Drop"
The problems:
1. drag green object to black area, to magenta area, and back again to black area. Drop it, the alert is not shown
2. drag green object to the white area (HTML control). Drop it, the alert is not shown
Many thanks.
The Code:

<mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="init()">

DragManager.doDrag(dragInitiator, ds, event, dragInitiator);

DragManager.acceptDragDrop(event.currentTarget as Canvas);
public function onParentDragEnter(event:Event):void
trace("onParentDragEnter");
DragManager.acceptDragDrop(event.currentTarget as VBox);
public function onChildDrop(event:DragEvent):void
trace("onchilddrop");
Alert.show("Child Drop");
public function onParentDrop(event:DragEvent):void
trace("onparentdrop");
Alert.show("Parent Drop");
public function onHtmlDragEnter(event:DragEvent):void
DragManager.acceptDragDrop(event.currentTarget as HTML);
public function onHtmlDrop(event:DragEvent):void
Alert.show("HTML Drop");

</mx:Script>
</mx:WindowedApplication>

The parent drop issue is because there can only be one drag acceptor and you don't get another dragEnter event when the mouse leaves the child (since technically, it never left the parent). This isn't as big an issue as it might seem, since generally you wouldn't have both a parent and a child that could take the drop. The ways to fix this are to use the dragOver event in addition to dragEnter or you could handle the dragExit event dispatched by the child and set the drag acceptor back to the parent.
The HTML control issue is a bit trickier. HTML content has its own drag-and-drop system that operates a bit differently than the ActionScript version. I don't think there is a way to intercept the events before they are handled by the WebKit HTML engine. You can accept a drop in HTML/JavaScript code as described here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/dev/WS6717AA0A-2B7D-4728-86DC-7D60F919E6B4.html.
