Can anyone help? iMac wont boot

Hi, I have a G4 iMac (dome) and I use my Air most of the time, so I have decided to give it to a friend who REALLY needs a computer... I haven't ever had any problems with it and I needed to wipe it clean to give it away. So I powered it up (it had been a long time) and it did the normal Apple chime, then a screen came up that said to restart. So I did that, then I got the Apple chime again, followed by three beeps, then nothing... Black screen, fans running and powered up, but nothing.... I iopened it up, reset the PMU, along with re-seeding the RAM. I'm out of ideas!! Can ANYONE please offer any advice? I'll try anything!!!
Thanks!!!

A dead PRAM battery can sometimes cause startup issues.
If the iMac was left unplugged for a few years, it would drain the battery. PRAM is where some of the hardware parameters (settings) are stored, the battery maintains the settings. Unlike other settings stored in preference files, some of these parameters are access immediately upon startup.
On the iMac G4, changing the PRAM battery goes beyond normal user access, but there are instructions online, such as this one

OWC sells the battery for a fair price

If you have a voltmeter, you can check the current battery first (should be between 3.3 and 3.7 volts).
