Can anyone introduce me a tutorial on "yield" and "interrupt" of Thread?
Hello, everyone!
I am learning JAVA Thread. I have read all the parts of section "Threads: Doing Two or More Tasks at Once (Essential Java Classes) " of the tutorial "The JAVA Toturial" on java.sun.com but failed to find anything about the usage of functions "yield" and "interrupt".
Can anyone introduce me some tutorials or simple source codes dealing with the usage of the two functions?

yield is used when you want to let another thread run. Its particularly useless as the scheduler will handle this anyway. Its especially useless in a JVM where the behavior of the scheduler is unpredictable. In a language such as c/c++ where it only runs in one place generally, you can understand the scheduler and help it a bit with yield, but in Java you really do not know for sure where your code will run, and any improvements yield will bring probably can be directed toward inefficiencies in the Thread scheduler of the jvm.
interrupt is basically a request. It only works on certain methods that are checking for it. So you can't have your thread doing just anything and think you can "interrupt" it. For instance, if you are blocking on a socket operation, interrupt will probably not do anything.

Plugged in Apple TV, Apple symbol appears the a view of the rear of the box with a USB lead going to an iTunes symbol? Can anyone shed some light on this oh and it doesn't go past this point
You need to grab a micro usb cable and restore via iTunes

I can't find preferences for the notes app. and every once in awhile some of my notes just disappear at start up, I see the name and then it refreshes and they are gone, very annoying. Can anyone tell me why it does this and how to stop it? thanks

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings

When I switch libraries I "lose" the majority of the material in my main library (or at least I can't see it) and can only restore it by repairing the database. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can resolve the problem? Thanks
I seem to have found a way around it. Rather than switching libraries by going into files/switch libraries I used Aperture Preferences to change them. I've done it a couple of times and it appears to work OK.
That is an interesting finding. It suggests, that your "Preferences" file "com.apple.Aperture.plist" may have been corrupted and you fixed it this way. Can you now switch between libraries the usual way? If not, I'd try to remove the "preferences" file from the user library to the Desktop and relaunch Aperture.

Your iTunes Digital Booklet should appear on the PDF shelf in iBooks.

Can anyone tell me what this messsage means and how to fix it?
I use CS3 to prepare a black and white newsletter for our village onmy MAC and frequently change colour photos to greyscale. However when printing on my HP Colour Laserjet 2550L the photo shows as a dark green colour. I've tried everything imaginable, new drivers etc. but still get the green print instead of greyscale.
The ColorSync Utility had just appeared on my desktop with the following message:

Don't really want to uninstall and reinstall but expect that's the only answer. Is it? Can anyone help?The driver is one the Apple Mac store downloaded for me.
I attach the print summary which might give a clue. When converting
files to grayscale, I use Image>Mode>grayscale. The other thing is
that I can't print in Photoshop, so I do all my editing in Photoshop
and print through Indesign. Printing in Photoshop is just a page of
text.
The other odd thing is that coloured pdf files printed in Adobe
Acrobat are just a mass of colour, no recognisable picture but if I
change the print option in Acrobat to print in grayscale I get
pictures! I just feel I'm overlooking some checked option, but I've
tried to restore to default without success. I used to use Pagemaker
6.0 to do my newsletter on my PC but had to change to Indesign when I
changed to MAC and the printer hasn't worked properly since!!!

Does anyone here use the play mode called Repeat Folder?
I have selected this play mode and it works fine, but how do you
then change/skip to another folder?
If I try then the unit gets confused and goes from
my folder called DireStraits of 2 to DireStraits 2of2
instead of to U2 2 of 2. Sometimes I can get it to skip
to another folder by scrolling in the other direction but
basically it does not allow me to skip to another folder.
So, what I have to do is change to Normal mode say,
then skip to another folder (which works just fine) and
then turn the play mode back Repeat Folder.
I think this is a buglet?
Can anyone else confirm this behaviour or confirm that they
get normal behaviour once the play mode is set to Repeat Folder.

jumps a folder or misses one or goes nowhere sometimes, and if I select the folder
it does go to, then it show the track name, but I cannot play it, hitting play
pause play does nothing. If I scroll to the left then I sometimes can get to the folders
it does not show when I scroll right, but again, if I select the folder presented to me
the track will not play. Also I think sometimes it gets confused and does not know whether
to scroll along folder by folder or scroll along track by track within a folder.
Any ideas?

I just purchased a mac and bought Logic Pro X. I have used fruity loops a little bit but this is completely different. Can anyone help me on getting started to make basic beats or anything?
Just a suggestion. You can pick up Apple Pro Training Series Logic Pro 9 & Logic Express 9 (iBooks or Amazon). It will be a good start as the versions are somewhat similar. It may be a while till something more current and specific will be out for learning Logic Pro X from the ground up.
