Can config.bin be "restored" from a command prompt?

After trying to find ways to configure the router using batch commands, I've realized that configuring the router with port forwarding enabled and backing up the router to config.bin, and then configuring it with port forwarding disabled and backing up the router to config.bin, I now have an ON and OFF. If there is a way to load config.bin to the router via command prompt it would achieve what I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Terry

Sure.
The Messenger project at Jakarta already has Producer and Consumer classes that can be run from the command line to send / receive messages via JMS. So you don't even need to write any code ;-)

    Thanx in advance.
    Best regards,

    Hi
    You can run this code from the command prompt in the same way as you run any other simple java program. The only thing is you need to set the Home and Local interfaces in the classpath.And obviously if u had deployed the bean in ur app server container, then its all over.
    And one more thing is that u need to set the provider URL in the InitialContext created in the client program.
    Thanks

  • Can't print to LPT1 from a command prompt - WIN XP

    I have an HP Deskjet 722C hooked straight up to the computer via a standard parallel printer cable (DB25 to Centronics) to the machine's parallel port. OS is XP Pro on a single user system with no network involved. For example, I load a file in DOS EDIT, go to File, Print, Print to LPT1, and it acts as if it printed but the printer doesn't respond. I can however print straight from any windows app with no problem. No other printer is directed to the LPT port(s). Tried the NET USE command (which I am quite familiar with) to redirect LPT1 to itself, no use. Deleted and let Win XP re-install the printer's driver, no use. Went into the machine's BIOS and tried every combination of EPP, ECP, etc., to no avail. The only logged in user to this machine has administrator rights.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks !!!!!!!!!!

    Can you print from XP? If not maybe the wrong driver is associated with the printer. There may information in this document which could help:

    If that doesn't help, are there any error message at all?

  • How can I pass a value to the command prompt?

    I was wondering how can I pass a value to the command prompt with Windows and Linux? I'm more interested in Linux's system than Windows though. Is there a way to return info from the command prompt?

    Here is a snippet from http://mindprod.com/jglossexec.html that explains how in detail.
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("myprog.exe") will spawn an external process that runs in parallel with the Java execution. In Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP, you must use an explicit *.exe or *.com extension on the parameter. It is also best to fully qualify those names so that the system executable search path is irrelevant, and so you don't pick up some stray program off the path with the same name.
    To run a *.BAT, *.CMD, *.html *.BTM or URL you must invoke the command processor with these as a parameter. These extensions are not first class executables in Windows. They are input data for the command processor. You must also invoke the command processor when you want to use the < > | piping options, Here's how, presuming you are not interested in looking at the output:
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("command.com /E:1900 /C MyBat.bat" );
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("cmd.exe /E:1900 /C MyCmd.cmd" );
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("C:\\4DOS601\\4DOS.COM /E:1900 /C MyBtm.btm" );
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("D:\\4NT301\\4NT.EXE /E:1900 /C MyBtm.btm" );
    There are also overloaded forms of exec(),
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("command.com /E:1900 /C MyBat.bat", null);
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("command.com /E:1900 /C MyBat.bat", null, "C:\\SomeDirectory");
    The second argument can be a String [], and can be used to set environment variables. In the second case, "C:\\SomeDirectory" specifies a directory for the process to start in. If, for instance, your process saves files to disk, then this form allows you to specify which directory they will be saved in.
    Windows and NT will let you feed a URL string to the command processor and it will find a browser, launch the browser, and render the page, e.g.
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("command.com http://mindprod.com/projects.html" );
    Another lower level approach that does not require extension associations to be quite as well set up is:
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler http://mindprod.com/projects.html" );
    Note that a URL is not the same thing as a file name. You can point your browser at a local file with something like this: file://localhost/E:/mindprod/jgloss.html or file:///E|/mindprod/jgloss.html.
    Composing just the right platform-specific command to launch browser and feed it a URL to display can be frustrating. You can use the BrowserLauncher package to do that for you.
    Note that
    rundll32.exe url.dll,FileProtocolHandler file:///E|/mindprod/jgloss.html
    won't work on the command line because | is reserved as the piping operator, though it will work as an exec parameter passed directly to the rundll32.exe executable.
    With explicit extensions and appropriately set up associations in Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP you can often bypass the command processor and invoke the file directly, even *.bat.
    Similarly, for Unix/Linux you must spawn the program that can process the script, e.g. bash. However, you can run scripts directly with exec if you do two things:
    Start the script with #!bash or whatever the interpreter's name is.
    Mark the script file itself with the executable attribute.
    Alternatively start the script interpreter, e.g.
    Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec (new String[]{"/bin/sh", "-c", "echo $SHELL"}";

    Hi,
    you need to make the necessary changes to the %odi%\bin\odiparams.bat config file, under the "Repository Connection Information" section so that startscen knows how to extract metadata from your repository.
    You apparently have left the default settings to the Hypersonic demo repository. Is that the technology your repository is hosted on?

    to see if the network adapter has registered with OPMN run: opmnctl status
    the 6200 message is a timeout which can be set in opmn.xml, the reports server(s) and other processes managed by OPMN should still stop.
    Try opmnctl stopall or opmnctl shutdown
    Does the timeout shows up regularly ie can you repeat it?
    After the stopall or shutdown try to start everything up again and try to stop the single reports server process again.

    If you are using a recent version of Java (5 or later) you can use Scanner:

    That page has some example code on it, too.

    System.in DOES read from the command shell that you start the app in.
    What you don't have is a prompt.
    You should know about Java Almanac. There are code samples for simple things like I/O that everyone should know about. There's an example there to help you.

  • How to read multiple lines from a command prompt?

    I usually read from a command prompt like this:
    String answer;
    System.out.println("Please enter the required data");
    try {
    BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    answer = reader.readLine();
    reader = null;
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("There was an exception trying to read " + e);
    answer = "";
    This has worked fine for years when all I wanted was one line answers.
    Now I am trying to prompt for multiple line answers. Is there a way to read into a string array rather than just a string? What class would I use for that?
    Thanks a lot!

    The easiest approaches would be to read a line at a time until you've read enough lines, whether by a known fixed line count, or a token count, or by reading some sentinel toek, OR read a token at a time using Scanner.next() until you've determined you're done. Which one is more appropriate depends on your situation.

    resources included in the mail.jar file.
    You need to look further in the debug output for the source of your problem.
    (I assume you've included mail.jar in your CLASSPATH when running
    your program from the command prompt. See README.txt included
    with JavaMail.)

  • I upgraded to ios6 on ipod touch and after I completed a sync on my PC but I suppose it did not sync, because now it will not restore from a back up and wants to restore from another account that I have saved.  Can I some how restore from the apps?

    I upgraded to ios6.1.3 on ipod touch and after I completed a sync on my PC but I suppose it did not sync, because now it will not restore from a back up and wants to restore from another account that I have saved.  Can I some how restore the apps to avoid having to pay for them again and having to recreate settings?

    As I said, the backup that iTunes makes does not include apps (and music) if those items where not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you restored they will not be on the iPod.
    You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • CAN THE IPHONE BE RESTORED FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER?

    I plugged in my iPhone to my Windows 7 computer through the USB port.
    iTunes ran and I proceeded to update the OS. This failed. Not Apples fault.
    Rather, it's Microsoft's fault because there's a bug in their last Windows update where it disables USB ports.
    The bug is: if I plug a device to a USB port, it's not recognized at all (nothing happens).
    If the device was already plugged in when I turned on the computer, the USB port works.
    However, if I then unplug that device and plug it back in, it doesn't work.
    The USB where my iPhone was plugged in stopped working because I think the iTunes update turns the USB
    port on and off.
    Since the OS did not get installed, iTunes told me I must restore my iPhone to the factory settings.
    That did not work because of the USB port problem. I could not even turn on my iPhone. It was totally non-functional.
    I then went to my sons computer and did a restore, but because all of my data is on my computer,
    I lost EVERYTHING. Or is it lost? I copied the music\itunes folder from my bad computer to my sons computer,
    but when restore ran, it did not recognize this data, instead it recognized my sons iPod data.
    My Question is: Is there a way to copy the iPhone data on my stricken computer and transfer that to my sons
    computer where I can then do a restore using that data?
    Can I just manually copy a folder from the broken computer to the good computer?
    Thanks.

    Actually, never mind. I was able to get the procedure for using the terminal to format partitions of a specific size, and found out that the EFI partition is automatically generated when partitioning the drive, so I only had to create a 400 MB Recovery partition (although I couldn't get it smaller than 528 MB), a 900 MB OSBoot partition, and the rest as Media. Using Disk Utility, I recovered the downloaded disk image to the OSBoot partition, reconnected the hard drive, plugged in the AppleTV and let her rip.
    Flashing question mark gone, although for some reason it initially booted in recovery mode, where I was supposed to be able to restart, run diagnostics, or restore firmware to factory resets. Diagnostics ran fine, but I was not able to restore to factory resets. Nevertheless, when I restarted again, the AppleTV worked fine. I even downloaded a couple of updates, viewed some trailers, etc.
    This was fun! Thanks for your help!
