Can dreamweaver (CS3) play the middleware between flash AIR as 3.0 and MSSQL
I have developed a Flash AIR AS3 form, 7 input text fields, one submit button. I know that Flash can't communicate with a server unless a PHP script is in the middle. Sadly, I am on microsoft sql server 2008 not mySQL. Does anybody out there, know of a tutorial that will teach me how to write the php script in dreamweaver to act as the middleware so AIR will send the data from the text fields to the database on the MSSQL. The goal of this is a learning experance, nothing more, I have never tried to talk to a server or database before....SO i beg please be gental, with me.

You can't declare the same variables/function more than once in a given timeline. That's what all the errors are telling you. The two options that Rob identified will work.
What you can do is extend the actions frame for the length of the occupied timeline so that variables/functions you declare in frame 1 are available in all frames along the timeline. To do this, you have the code in keyframe 1 and go to the end of the timeline and choose the command to Insert Frame. You should see the timeline between the first frame and the last becomes one large white frame area.
I will often have two layers dedicated to actionscript. One for the code that lives in frame 1 that gets shared along the timeline's length, and another for the commands that are specific to certain frames only.
If you need need text to appear/type-out in different frames then you just call the function that performs the typing while sending it the text that it needs to type. If you need to type it into a different textfield, then you could pass that to the typing function as well so that it targets the desired textfield.

I am trying to reinstall Dreamweaver CS3 from the CD after having computer issues. Now getting error "You can only install one Adobe product at a time. Please complete the other installation before attempting to install ......." There is no other Adobe product installing. Absolutely not. You are misinterpreting things. The activation check never happens when just running the installer, only much later. It means what it says - there is another "install" pending/ active on your system, meaning somewhere there is an (invisible) process still blocking things. Either way, since you haven't provided any real technical info, we can't advise specifically. if you are on Windows, you may want to check your task manager and terminate any setup.exe and msiexec.exe processes plus potentially may need to manually fix/ delete some registry keys. For anything beyond that you will have to be much more specific.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps. -

I have had a similar problem before. Sound would occasionally be controlled by ALSA and occasionally be controlled by pulse (the pulseaudio-alsa package did nothing). As far as symptoms, sometimes other applications would not produce sound while a flash video was playing and vice versa. Ultimately, I just removed everything pulse/ALSA-related, deleted (and backed up) my configuration files, and installed all related packages anew. It works now. I still don't really know what the problem was. -

I am new to Apple and am enjoying the experience thus far. My only unanswered question is how can I re-play the tutorials that popped up the very first time I opened an application? i.e. The first time I opened "Keynote" a window opened that gave me the opportunity to see some video highlights, I chose not to watch thinking I would get to it later. However, now when I click on the "keynote" icon it takes me directly to the application - no video tutorials offered. This is true of all the applications in iwork. I have found tutorials on-line but can I still get them on my computer?
ThanksThe only tutorial videos are online -- if you go to the Help menu and choose "Video Tutorials", that will take you to the appropriate section of the Apple site (and the "Welcome to Keynote" item will give you that window that popped up the first time you ran Keynote).
If you want a basic overview of iWork (and a very nice demonstration of what Keynote can do), then the Help item "iWork Tour" is highly recommended. -

ThanksYou might want to ask someone in the Keynote forum. It may be in one of Keynote's support documents in your Documents or Library folders, or it may be inside the package contents of the Keynote application itself. Since I don't have the most recent Keynote, I can't say I'd know.

I downloaded a show on itunes and it will not play the last 15 minutes. It just stops and will not go any further. What can I do? I am using a pc.
I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item. -

Well, you say xy graph, so this might be a more complicated problem.
For a waveform graph it's trivial. Simply get the two cursor indices (property: cursor index) and apply them to array subset of the data. Is that all you need?
Here's how the above code would look like. using cursor.index instead of cursor.x elimnates the need to include scaling information.
For an xy graph, there could be multiple segments (e.g. imagine a spiral that passes the desired x range multiple times from both sides). This would neeed significantly more code for a general solution.

I am now sticking on it. The first one runs great in my project, but it is deprecated. The remaining two return wrong answer I need. Can anyone expain what the difference between them? Really appreciate the help, thanks in advance.It seems like the first one translates each byte into one character. The other two use the default character encoding to translate possibly more than one byte into each character. Look up Unicode character encodings to understand the difference.
