Can Hotspot be set to exclude certain classes/methods?

Hi gurus,
I've got an app which does a large amount of number crunching for which hotspot is a must. However it needs to use a third party library which is regularly crashing the JVM. Does anyone know of a way that I can inform the JVM that it should not compile the troublesome class?
Any suggestions welcome.
Regards
Andy

- Get the maker of the library to fix it.Why should the maker of the library have to fix the JVM?
I don't care how bad/incorrect java code is; it should NOT crash the VM.
I have a simple 44 lines in 2 files pure java app that will reliably crash the VM, using nothing more exciting than synchronized Threads. It apparently causes the GC to go out to lunch.
The short of it is, Server HotSpot definitely leaves something to be desired. I'm not too convinced on Client HotSpot either, and am seriously suggesting sticking with -Xint on everything.

  • Whats the difference between a class method and a instance method.

    I have a quiz pretty soon and one of the questions will be: "How does an instance method differ from a class method." I've tried looking this up but they gave me really complicated explanations. I know what a instance method is but not really sure what a class one is. Can someone post an example of a class method and try to explain what makes it so special?

    Hi,
    1) this foum provides means to format/tag code, no need to manually add -tags
    2) by default, classname start with a capital letter, method names with a lower case letter
    3) where do you want to get the time value to Elist.a? During addEvent()?
    4) what do you want to do with the time value of each event? Sum all values up to make a an overall sum?
    5) where do you want to compare the time value(s)?
    To put it in one sentence: please be more specific with your description and answer.

  • Can I exclude certain file types in the Photo Downloader?

    Hi there!
    I am very new here, so please do correct me on etiquette and if I'm doing something wrong. I've been searching the web for quite a while now but couldn't find an answer or even questions concerning this problem...
    I like using Bridge's Photo Downloader, for the nice renaming and other options it gives me. Usually I want to download all images from a card and then delete them on the card. The problem I am having is that Photo Downloader will not only see images (like .JPG, .CR2 or .ARW) but camera database files and settings (.INT, .BDM, .BIN, ...). This is annoying, since I neither want them stored on my hard drive nor deleted on my card. I also would like to import movies in a different way. The way I can work around this now is that I manually deselect all non-images in the Advanced Dialog and then only download these. But I was hoping that there is a more elegant and automatic way to just exclude certain file types from automatic selection. Or even just a way to mark or unmark the images by file type. This should be very easy to implement and I am really curious if I am missing something obvious here or if this is just not possible yet.
    Has anyone else thought this before? Or are you all using different methods to import images from your card reader?
    Any help or comment is appreciated.

    Sorry, download history is either on or off. There is no preference setting to exclude specific file types.

    I can't find Personal Hotspot or Set Up Personal Hotspot in Settings on my 4s, does it have to be downloaded first? From where? I can't find it in the app store.

    You must be using a supported carrier that supports the personal Hotspot feature, and you must subscribe to a data plan that permits tethering. Your account must be provisioned properly for an iPhone.
    A list of carriers, including which ones support this feature can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937

  • Need to exclude certain risks in Risk Analysis and Remediation (5.2)

    Hello Experts,
    My requirement is I need to exclude certain unwanted risks whenever I execute the simulation for a user or an SAP role. We had this provision in the ABAP version of compliance calibrator 4.0. But we are not able to do the same in the upgraded 5.2 risk analysis and remediation.
    Can anyone please provide a solution to this problem or some workaround. Thanks in advance.
    Best Regds,
    Suyog Chakot...

    Hi,
    there are several options:
    - you can disable single risks in rule architect.
    - you can create a seond rule set that only checks the roles you want to check on
    - you can mitigate certain roles or users to exclude them from analysis
    The options are all there - depends on what exactly you want to do.

  • Omit a certain class from displaying Alert Dashboard

    We have a couple of dashboards that a particular "NOC" type team is responsible for looking at. We are using the default "All Alerts" dashbaord (which is anything not closed/resolved) and a "New Alerts" Dashboard (which is anything
    not assigned a "resolution" state which we are using for assigning alerts). Basically they are looking at all new alerts coming in, and assigning them to different "views" for other teams.
    We have a couple MPs that are very noisey and not tuned, nor will be tuned any time soon. This NOC team has been assigning them to different views, but every day has to sift through dozens of these to assign them out so they don't appear in the alert dashboard.
    Is there a way to OMIT certain classes or alerts generated from a specific Management Pack from appearing in a Alert view? I see how to INCLUDE certain alerts generated from classes, but not a way to EXCLUDE. We have too many MPs to create a dashboard that
    INCLUDES everything but the couple we don't want.
    Is this a limitation of SCOM's dashboard? Or am I missing something?

    Hi,
    I would like to suggest you create a group of all servers except for those objects that belongs to the certain class, and then create an alert view that targets that group.
    Or when create alert view, we can choose to display alerts created by specific sources, we may select all alert source and then uncheck those sources that belong to the certain management pack.

  • How can I restrict a vendor with certain value limit?

    Hi Gururs,
    How can I restrict a vendor with certain value limit?.
    Scenario is like this
    If my company was decided to purchase goods from a particular vendor upto Rs.1000, if cross the rs.1000 limit don't allow the Posting the PO and get the Message as warning/error.
    Give the configuration setting's and T.codes
    Thanks and regards
    G.N.Rao

    Hi
    Go to T.Code oms4 and then select the material status BP (Blocked for purchasing)
    Click on Details
    In that under Purchasing select the option A= Warning or B=Error
    Click on Save
    Thus by doing this no further purchasing function for that material can be done. So the PO can not be issued
    So as and when the value limit reaches see that purchasing option is blocked
    So no further PO are generated in the future
    I hope this helps you out
    If found useful reward accordingly
    Thanks

  • Under F110 t-code, I need to exclude certain vendor #'s in this range. How

    Hi,
        Under F110 t-code I generally pull in a range of vendor #'s (ex: 850000-999999) and have come across a situation where I need to exclude certain vendor #'s in this range.  Need to know if we can get get an exclusion parameter.
    Pls let me know what could be the procedure to come out from this type of situation.
    Please let me know what can be done or if there is currently a way within F110 to do this without skipping vendor on proposals.

    hi,
    After entering the company code and Vendor number Execute it and u can see all the vendor balance Invoices and select the Invoices which u want to clear the amount.After this u run the APP, the only opn invoices can be cleared......
    OR
    In F110 while running the Payment Proposal click on that and u can see the list of the invoices Or to which Vendor u want to clear the amount and Double click on it. Again get back to the previious page and press enter .
    Hope this solution is enough.....

  • Can someone tell me how I can use a Vector to access my class?

    I wrote a class that will need to be instantiated with unknown instances later. I decided to use a Vector to do this. However when I created the vector:
    <CODE>
    Vector user = new Vector(1,1);
    user.addElement(Users());
    user.elementAt(0).name="Test";
    </CODE>
    I'm really not sure how I can set this. The class is of course Users and I want to set user as the Vector but specify Users as the Object Type. Any help? By the way I heard Java has a dynamic array feature is this true? I heard you had to use Vectors for Java. Also how can I free up the memory when I'm done with the class?

    Suppose class User looks like this:
    public class User
      public String name;
    }then you could do:Vector users = new Vector(1,1);
    users.addElement(new User());
    ((User)users.elementAt(0)).name="Test";BTW - Java is NOT C++, you always need to use the new keyword for object creation!

  • Exclude certain objects in OM when using the report RHSTRU00

    Hi,
    I'd like to inquire if there is a way to exclude certain objects from appearing in RHSTRU00?  For example,
    Organization XYZ contains 3 org units:
    Organization A - contains Position A - Employee A
    Organization B - contains Position B - Employee B
    Organization C - contains Position c - Employee C
    Organization XYZ - contains Position XYZ - Employee XYZ
    When using the eval path O-S-P with root object Organization XYZ, is there a way to exclude Position XYZ - Employee XYZ from the report output?
    Thanks!

    Hi Kristine Tan ,
    Yes, You can exclude the Position when executing the Report RHSTRU00 using Evaluation Path O-S-P.
    Click on "Change Structure Conditions" Push button and give the following under structure conditions (Object Filter)
    Check Object Type     -      Root Object Type        -     Root Object ID     -   Evaluation Path       -   Status
           S                          -              O                         -          XXXXXXX      -     O-S-P                    -    1
    Click on Continue.
    Then execute.  You can see the Positions are not displayed in the report.

  • Setting styleable properties & pseudo-class state to controls in JavaFX 2.2

    Hi All,
    Greetings!
    Can anyone please let me know how to create or set styleable and pseudo-class state properties for custom controls developed with JavaFX 2.2.
    I found a very nice wiki regarding this. (https://wikis.oracle.com/display/OpenJDK/CSS+API+to+support+custom+UI+Controls)
    But this seems to be with JavaFX 8 version. As i cannot find PseudoClass in the current version of JavaFX 2.2.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sai Pradeep Dandem.

    There is no public API in 2.2 for adding adding styleable properties and pseudo-class state to controls in JavaFX 2.2.
    The implementation between 2.2 and 8.0 changed significantly in terms of API, class names, etc. The model is roughly the same, but if you implement something in 2.2 using the private implementation APIs, it will not work, and may not even compile, in 8.0.
    // A pseudo-class in 2.2

  • Can you accelerate depreciation on a whole class of fixed assets ?

    Can you accelerate depreciation on a whole class of Fixed Assets, so that they are written down to final Residual Value in one go?

    Hi Simon,
    I know this reply is 6 years since your question but none the less, let me try and help resolve the query.
    There are options of manual depreciation and write downs but they are for individual assets.
    If there is a legal change that necessitates accelerated depreciation after a certain number of years, you may configure a new depreciation key having a multi-level method that can help here.
    If the number of years of life for the asset class in question is not the same for all assets, you can configure two phases in the depreciation key. The phase changeover can be done using the standard options provided by SAP or by using the custom changeover methods using BADI or Exit depending on what business functions are activated in your system.

  • Regular Expression Exclude Certain Characters

    I am building this with Apex 3.2
    I have a validation on a page item of type regular expression
    Validation Expression 1 :   P13_TARGET_BMI
    Validation Expression 2:    ^[[:alnum:]-]*$
    This allows all characters, number and the - symbol
    Now I need to exclude certain alpha characters, ie German letters Ä Ü Ö
    and spaces if possible
    Basically if the user types in Ä, Ü, Ö, the validation should fail
    Cheers
    Gus

    Hi, Gus,
    The most efficient thing would be to list all the acceptable characters instead of using [:alnum:].
    REGEXP_LIKE ( str
                , '^[a-z0-9A-Záéíóúæ... -]+$'
    If you can't do that, then use a separate test to check for the exceptional alphabetic characters
         REGEXP_LIKE ( str
                     , '^[[:alnum:] -]+$'
    AND  str = TRANSLATE ( str
                         , 'xÄÜÖ'
                         ,'x'
    You can use regular expressions for the Ä Ü Ö testing, if you want to.
    There's nothing tricky about spaces; by default, they have no special meaning in regular expressions, and they never have any special meaning inside square brackets.

  • How to exclude certain playlists from being shuffled?

    I have Video IPOD and would like to know how to exclude certain play lists from being played when the "shuffle song" function is on?
    Appreciate your help.

    Going back to the beginning I think I misinterpretted your original question. I thought you wanted to be able to turn on the Shuffle Songs function of the iPod and when you played any playlist it would shuffle normally but you wanted to have some playlists that would play without shuffling without having to turn off that function.
    Now I think what you wanted to say was you want to shuffle song when playing your library on the iPod but if certain songs exist in your "do not shuffle" playlist, they would be skipped, right?
    If that is the case, you can do it with some Smart playlist manipulation. First create the "Do Not Shuffle" playlist and put everything in there that you do not want to show up when you are shuffle playing your library. Now create a new Smart Playlist where the rules are "Playlist IS NOT [do not shuffle]". Make that the only rule, check live updating and only checked songs. What will happen is that playlist will contain your entire library EXCEPT the ones you don't want shuffle played.
    Now when you listen to your iPod, you can use the Shuffle Songs option turned ON and play that smart playlist which will basically let you hear anything and everything in your library shuffled EXCEPT for those songs you designated to not include.
