Omit a certain class from displaying Alert Dashboard

We have a couple of dashboards that a particular "NOC" type team is responsible for looking at. We are using the default "All Alerts" dashbaord (which is anything not closed/resolved) and a "New Alerts" Dashboard (which is anything
not assigned a "resolution" state which we are using for assigning alerts). Basically they are looking at all new alerts coming in, and assigning them to different "views" for other teams.
We have a couple MPs that are very noisey and not tuned, nor will be tuned any time soon. This NOC team has been assigning them to different views, but every day has to sift through dozens of these to assign them out so they don't appear in the alert dashboard.
Is there a way to OMIT certain classes or alerts generated from a specific Management Pack from appearing in a Alert view? I see how to INCLUDE certain alerts generated from classes, but not a way to EXCLUDE. We have too many MPs to create a dashboard that
INCLUDES everything but the couple we don't want.
Is this a limitation of SCOM's dashboard? Or am I missing something?

Hi,
I would like to suggest you create a group of all servers except for those objects that belongs to the certain class, and then create an alert view that targets that group.
Or when create alert view, we can choose to display alerts created by specific sources, we may select all alert source and then uncheck those sources that belong to the certain management pack.

Yan Li

  • Removing some of the wagetypes in evaluation class from display in HR forms

    Hi,
    I need to remove few wagetypes from evaluation class, which is used in group of a window from displaying.
    Window x1 which has a group G1,
    Structure of G1:
    Table  ID
    RT  **01
    Now **01 contains 100 wagetypes out of which I have to do not want to display 4 WT.
    Please suggest how to get the required result.

    I do not want to touch the evaluation class, my requirement is that I have to print rate for these 4 WT and only for a group of people, also if rate is 0.00 then do not print text for rate.
    I have defined three rules one is for ee-subgroup, one for rate not equal to 0 and the third for the 4WT.
    For 4WT rule is  RT LGART eq xxxx    TEXT,  where text resembles nothing.
    Now in the line layout for the rate text field rule written is XRT BETPE ne 0, thus rate text field will not appear.
    And for the group in window rule specified is WPBP PERSK eq xx.
    Please let me know if more information is needed.

  • How to create an array in one field and have another field display certain elements from that array?

    I am making a form in Acrobat XI pro.
    In one text field, I created an array of several elements. I want other text fields to display certain elements from that array. For instance, one field should display the 3rd element, another field should display the 13th element, etc.
    The Javascript for making the array is very long, and so I don't want to have to re-calculate the array every single time (in order to reduce rendering time when I open the form on an iPad). This is why I'd like to only have to create the array once, and simply refer to it throughout the form.

    What code are you using to update the array currently? Are you completely rebuiding it when an element changes, or just changing specific elements for certain fields? I'm still not sure what exactly you are trying to do, but something like this in a document level script will create your array:
    var myArray;
    // Call 'updateArray' to initialize array
    updateArray();
    function updateArray() {
         // Code here to create/update array
         myArray = new Array();
         myArray[0] = "Value 1";
         myArray[1] = "Value 2";
         myArray[2] = "Value 3";
    Then, for each field that needs to update this array, you can add a call to 'updateArray()' in the appropriate event. This will rebuild the array completely; if you just want to update specific elements, then you can access them directly.

  • How can we display Alerts based on Exceptions in BI7

    Hi,
    <b>How can we display Alerts based on Exceptions in BI7?</b> My requirement is a dashboard kind of scenario where the alerts will be displayed using WAD in Portal.
    In 3.5, we used to schedule the alerts from the Reporting Agent and display that using the Alert Webitem in Web Application Designer. But I couldn't find the Reporting Agent and the Alert Webitem in BI7. I would like to know how we can do Exception Reporting in BI7. I appreciate your suggestions/comments. Thanks in advance.

  • Invoke a method in one class from a different class

    I am working on a much larger project, but to keep this simple, I wrote out a little test that would convey the over all theory of the program.
    What I am doing is starting out with a 2 JFrames and a Class. When the program is launched, the first JFrame opens. In this JFrame is a label and a button. When the button is clicked, the second JFrame opens. This JFrame has a textField and a button. The user puts the text in the textField and presses the button. When the button is pushed, I want the text that was just put in the textField, to be displayed in the first JFrame's label. I am trying to invoke a method in the first JFrame from the second, but nothing happens. I have also tried making the Class extend from JFrame1 and invoke it from there, but no luck. So, how do I invoke a method in a class from a different class?
    JFrame1 (I omitted the layout part. I made this in Netbeans so its pretty long)
    public class NewJFrame1 extends javax.swing.JFrame {
         private NewClass1 nC = new NewClass1();
         /** Creates new form NewJFrame1 */
         public NewJFrame1() {
              initComponents();
              jLabel1.setText("Chuck");
         public void setLabels()
              jLabel1.setText(nC.getName());
    private void jButton1ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
         NewJFrame2 j2 = new NewJFrame2();
         j2.setVisible(true);The class
    public class NewClass1 {
         public static String name;
         public NewClass1()
         public NewClass1(String n)
              name = n;
         public String getName()
              return name;
         public void setName(String n)
              name = n;
    }The second jFrame
    private void jButton1ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
         NewClass1 nC = new NewClass1();
         NewJFrame1 nF = new NewJFrame1();
         nC.setName(jTextField1.getText());
         nF.setLabels();
         System.out.println(nC.getName());At this point I am begging for help. I have been trying for days to figure this out, and I just feel like I am not getting anywhere.
    Thanks

    So, how do I invoke a method in a class from a different class?Demo:
    public class Main {
        public static void main(String [] args) {
         Test1 t1 = new Test1();
         Test2 t2 = new Test2();
         int i = t1.method1();
         String s = t2.method2(i);
         System.out.println(s);
    class Test1 {
        public int method1() {
         return 10;
    class Test2 {
        public String method2(int i) {
         if (i == 10)
             return "ten";
         else
             return "nothing";
    }Output is "ten".

  • Use in class as display?

    Please tell me if this is a viable vision for buying a MacBook.
    I teach high school history and have a number of Keynote presentations I've run from my Mini. But this year I share three classrooms, so I would be shutting down and starting up.
    So- if I get a basic MacBook, I can walk into class, put it under the class computer monitor, plug in the macBook and display my screen while the MB sits inconspicuous on the cart.
    I have a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, so I can run the presentation and class from the back of the room.
    I can even have kids hold the keyboard and take notes during class as part of the skills I'm developing.
    My question- is there something I am missing or need to watch for? (My other questions regarding the best ways to present info are for another forum.)

    Yes, I think you have it right. Some things to consider or watch out for, if you have the MacBook running from it's battery, you are somewhat limited in the ways you can use it with an external monitor, but probably not in a way that affects what you are trying to do. You can certainly use it in mirror mode, meaning the MacBook screen and the classroom monitor will have the same picture on them.
    Are you sure you will be able to see the classroom monitor from the back of the room? That may be a stretch. Other than that, I think you have thought of everything.

  • Vertical lines in calendar gone from display

    The most common format for calendars is for each day to be bordered by horizontal and vertical lines, in Month view. This is indeed how my calendar month looks when printed. However, vertical lines are gone when viewed on my MacBook Pro display (Calendar v. 7.0 and OSX 10.9.5). It bothers me, in the same way a wristwatch with tic marks, instead of numbers on the dial, requires more attention. Someone said to me " I have vertical lines on my calendar." Did Apple omit the vertical lines from Calendar month view or is this abnormal. Can I get my vertical lines back?
    Thanks
    H

    No,  very uncommon.  Only seen same on a very few older Airs.   Possible break in the monitor cable to your LCD LED backlit monitor. Also possible is bad connector at logic board to monitor cable on female connector on logic to cable. Also possible is bad GPU (still logic).  Either way its only 2 possibilities on parts.
    If you're in warranty. thats great.
    Backup ALL data to external HD....and make a call for warranty work on your Air.
    The Air is very easy to service to replace parts for same.  Your down time should be minimal.

  • ClassNotFound in case of class from jar in lib folder

    Hello,
    I get an application that I have to deploy on Weblogic AS. It is big ear with couple of wars inside. Let's say it is bigApp.ear.
    It is deployed and state is Active. When go to browser and try to run an application I get an error. In logs I found ClassNotFoundException. The error is related to a class, let's say: com.some.package.Abc - I have this class in a jar file, let's say someFile.jar and it is in a folder WLS_FOLDER\samples\domains\wl_server\lib where:
    - WLS_FOLDER is my WLS installation folder
    - wl_server - name of my domain where I deploy an application.
    I wrote a small application (simple form), let's say simpleApp.war. The application uses the class com.some.package.Abc, but the class is not put into the war (WEB-INF/lib) of my small aplication (I use Maven and dependency to someFile.jar has scope provided, so simpleApp.war does not contain it). The result is that simpleApp works fine and there is no error in logs. It creates an instance of com.some.package.Abc and correctly display toString() of the instance of the class in a browser. So this means that application simpleApp is able to see and use classes that are inside jars in WLS_FOLDER\samples\domains\wl_server\lib folder.
    So my guess is that there is something in bigApp.ear but I don't know where to search. I read about class loaders hierarchy in Weblogic and Class Loader Filtering. But I have looked inside every weblogic.xml in bigApp.ear and wars that are inside and there is no filter on "com.some.package" or "com.some" or "com" only different packages.
    Is there any other mechanism in Weblogic that could block the visibility of classes from jars from lib folder of domain to the applications that are deployed in that domain??
    Regards

    Hi,
    Place that something.jar file under Domain_Home / lib folder and restart the server it will included with in the classpath and your app will able to pick the class without any issue.

  • Accessing a variable defined in one class from another class..

    Greetings,
    I've only been programming in as3 for a couple months, and so far I've written several compositional classes that take MovieClips as inputs to handle behaviors and interactions in a simple game I'm creating. One problem I keep coming upon is that I'd love to access the custom variables I define within one class from another class. In the game I'm creating, Main.as is my document class, from which I invoke a class called 'Level1.as' which invokes all the other classes I've written.
    Below I've pasted my class 'DieLikeThePhishes'. For example, I would love to know the syntax for accessing the boolean variable 'phish1BeenHit' (line 31) from another class. I've tried the dot syntax you would use to access a MovieClip inside another MovieClip and it doesn't seem  to be working for me. Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks,

    I would approach it in much the same way as you would in java, by making getters and setters for all of your class variables.
    Getters being for returning the values, Setters being for setting them.
    So you would make a get function for the variable you want to access ala:
    function get1PhishBeenHit():boolean {
         return this.phish1BeenHit;
    Then to access the value of that variable from outwith the class:
    var result:boolean = ClassInstanceName.get1PhishBeenHit();

  • Check  File Existence and display  alert message

    Hi,
    I have a servlet which uploads file to server. Below is my code and is working file. Now, I want to check if the file uploading by the user is already exists. If so , I have to display a message to user "The file you are trying to upload already exists. Do you want to overwrite" with YES or NO actions.
    How can I display this alert message from user.
    //item.write(tosave);
              FileItemFactory factory = new DiskFileItemFactory();
              boolean isMultipart = FileUpload.isMultipartContent(request);
              System.out.println(isMultipart);
              Map fileDetails = new HashMap();
              ServletFileUpload upload = new ServletFileUpload(factory);
              List items = upload.parseRequest(request);
              Iterator iter = items.iterator();
              while (iter.hasNext()) {
                   item = (FileItem) iter.next();
                        if (item.isFormField()) {
                                       String fieldName = item.getFieldName();
                                       String fieldValue = item.getString();
                                       fileDetails.put("fileName",item.getString());
                        else {
                                  fileDetails.put("path",item.getName());
                                  cfile=new File(item.getName());
                                  onlyFileName = cfile.getName();
                   if (! folder.exists()) folder.mkdirs();
                   if(cfile.exists()){  //THIS CHECK THE FILE EXISTENCE.  HOW CAN I DISPLAY ALERT MESSAGE TO USER HERE.
                        System.out.println("File Already Exists Path is ");
    Can anyone suggest me on this.

    It won't work like that because JavaScript will run either before the form is submitted or after the page has been generated. In either case, you can't really communicate between the server side code and client side code.
    What you can do is use Ajax to communicate with a servlet that checks for the duplicate file and responds accordingly. You can then perform the appropriate action on the page. This should be very simple to setup, take a look at this basic tutorial [1].

  • Pass Input Values to BI Publisher Report Layout from BI Answers Dashboard

    Has anyone been able successfully pass user input values from a BI Answers dashboard prompt into a BI Publisher report? I'm trying add user inputted text (notes, comments) into a report he/she runs.
    I've been trying with no success. I've matched the name of the presenation variables in Answers to the parameter definitions in BI Publisher.
    I've declared the parameter in the RTF template as below:
    1. Declaration
    <?param@begin:param1?>
    2. retrive value:
    <?$param1?>
    If i run it directly from BI Publisher, there is no issue. When I pass the value from an Answers dashboard, the text is never displayed in the report?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

    I do not see a constructor in the XercesChecker class that accepts a String.

  • Best way to display executive dashboards on the IPad?

    In your opinion, Apple, what is the best way to display Executive dashboards using the IPad?
    Our company purchased IPads in hopes that they would be able to display the our Web-based Dashboards, but they cannot. The dashboards render fine in the Safari for PC, but in mobile safari they do not. Is there any way to change mobile Safari's user agent?
    Is there any other avenue you suggest?

    First, Apple will not respond here. We're all just fellow users participating in these forums.
    As to your question, what exactly are these "dashboards"? What technology is used to generate them? If it's either Adobe Flash or Java, then they will not work from an iPad and quite likely never will. If they're being generated by standard HTML and JavaScript, then it's possible one of the other browsers, such as Mobile Opera, might work (though with Opera there may be security issues you'd have to investigate before you adopted that as a solution).
    Without more detail as to the site(s) you're trying to access, it's difficult to offer more specific suggestions.
    Regards.
