Can I acquire data with VB from my DAQCard without using Measurment Studio?

I have the Measurement and Automation Software on my computer and VisualBasic.NET. Do I need any other software if I am receiving 2 analog signals and outputing 1 analog signal on my NI DAQCard-6024E PCMCIA?

The short answer is yes, you can acquire data with VB.NET from your DAQCard without using Measurement Studio.
There are a variety of ways to do it. All of them require that you install either the Traditional DAQ driver or the DAQmx driver in addition to Measurement and Automation Explorer. The DAQ drivers are included on a CD or CDs with your hardware. They are also available on the quarterly National Instruments Device Driver CD.
1) You can use the Measurement Studio DAQmx .NET API. This is far and away the easiest API to use to program DAQ cards in VB.NET and C#. This API is included in the DAQ installer and does not require you to purchase Measurement Studio. However, without Measurement Studio you do not get the benefit of the DAQ Assistant integrated into Visual Studio .NET. The DAQ Assistant, when integrated into Visual Studio .NET, allows you to graphically configure your DAQ tasks, generates the code you need to configure your tasks, and generates a .NET user control (with user interface) that demonstrates how you use the tasks that you created. The caveat to this approach is that PCMCIA cards are not directly supported under DAQmx 7.0. There is, however, a beta versin of DAQmx PCMCIA support as described in this KB article.
2) You can use the .NET P/Invoke services to call the Traditional DAQ or DAQmx C API directly. See MSDN for more information about P/Invoke. If you choose the DAQmx API, you will need to install the beta of the PCMCIA support as described in this KB article. National Instruments does not provide any examples, language-specific documentation, or code generation for this method. You'll need to look at the C API documentation to see what to do.
3) You can use the Measurement Studio Traditional DAQ ActiveX controls. These are included in the DAQ installer and do not require you to purchase Measurement Studio.
The absolute quickest and easiest way to get started using an NI-DAQ card in VB.NET is through the DAQ Assistant and Measurement Studio Professional or Enterprise edition.
Your next best approach is to use the native .NET DAQmx API. This API was designed from the ground up to support .NET languages. There are examples written in VB.NET to help you get started.
If for some reason, you don't want to use the native .NET API (or your hardware is not supported under DAQmx), whether you use P/Invoke or the ActiveX controls is a toss-up. It depends mostly on whether you are already familiar with the C API or the ActiveX API.

  • Iphone sync is making me crazy how can I get data to and from my iphone without syncing?

    I'm a pc user and i'm sick of the iphone sync process jacking up my life when I decide to reinstall windows and the old itunes data is no longer there. how can I etup my iphone to not have to sync but transfer data to and from it like an android?

    The only way to get data onto the phone is by syncing.  To get some photos off the phone you can connect the phone to the computer with USB cable and use windows explorer to view and copy the photos from the phone to the computer.  You could use a program like ibackupbot or something similar on your computer and get data off the phone to your computer using that

    For playing back, may be it is possible to "jar" the jmf along with the application and the upload on the server, then it may recognize all the classes but there can still be problem because JMF depends on many ".dll" files which are stored in System folders, as I have seen. So,........This is correct, mostly. Here goes a captfoss inforant...
    JMF is a collection of Java files (jmf.jar) that perform a certain set of functions, and it's also a set of native library files. You can use the Java JMF stuff with web-start, so the clients wouldn't have to have JMF installed to use the Java JMF stuff. The problem with doing this approach, you always have to ask yourself "Can I do what I want to do without the native library stuff?"
    To answer this question, it's important to take a look at the JMF supported formats page.
    [http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/formats.html]
    If you look in the column "JMF 2.1.1 Cross Platform Version", it'll tell you what you can do in pure JMF, without any of the native libraries. In the case of capturing data, the only thing you can capture without native code is audio through the JavaSound system.
    If you take a look at the RTP formats listed, you'll see a problem...the cross-platform version can't send any kind of video data to itself, which means you'd have to send MPEG1 to a transcoding server to bounce it back to the second client as a JPEG image...and that's if you somehow had the video data you want to transmit, which you cannot get from the cross-platform pack anyway.

    Hi All,
    I am facing a issue while designing a page in MOSS 2007. I can't use custom code as the client doesn't want it to be used.

    Plesae help me to find any alternative so that I can easily style my page with the dynamic content. Is there any way using Content editor webparts? Can we get List data in Content editor html as this can be easily styled. I googled and tried it by using javascript

  • Can a Stored Procedure be called from a Rule (not using Scripted JDBC Adap)

    Hello smart people,
    Question: Can a stored procedure be called from a Rule without using the Scripted JDBC Resource Adapter?
    What's Desired: The project has very strong sql developers and average at best Java developers. We have been successful at implementing the scripted JDBC Resource Adapter which makes use of Java Bean shells. The custom Java Bean shell contains code that calls a stored procedure. We are cool with that process.
    However we would like to be able to set up a Rule that calls a Stored Procedure without jumping thru the Java Bean Shell layer. The Stored Procedures we will be developing will not access the tables in the Waveset database. Instead the Stored Procedures will be accessing custom tables in a custom database. The custom DBase will be housed on the same dBase server as the Waveset database.
    Environment: Identity Manager 7.1. Oracle 10i, and Unix OS.
    It seems to me that this task is possible, but the posts in this forum make it sound like perhaps it is not.
    Do any of you smart people agree that it should be possible or better yet has anyone implemented such an approach?
    Thanks.

    We did this by putting all of the JDBC calls into a Java class, then instantiated that class and called the methods from within a rule. An example of a rule we used is this:
    <Rule authType='UserMembersRule' name='List UserType'>
      <block>
        <defvar name='adapter'>
          <new class='com.waveset.adapter.ScriptedJdbcResourceAdapter'/>
        </defvar>
        <invoke name='setResource'>
          <ref>adapter</ref>
          <invoke name='getObject' class='com.waveset.ui.FormUtil'>
            <ref>context</ref>
            <s>Resource</s>
            <s>Banner</s>
          </invoke>
        </invoke>
        <defvar name='jdbcHelper'>
          <new class='edu.bates.JDBCHelper'>
            <invoke name='getConnection'>
              <ref>adapter</ref>
            </invoke>
          </new>
        </defvar>
        <defvar name='userList'>
          <new class='java.util.ArrayList'/>
        </defvar>
        <invoke name='addQueryToList'>
          <ref>jdbcHelper</ref>
          <s>SQL QUERY HERE</s>
          <ref>userList</ref>
        </invoke>
        <ref>userList</ref>
      </block>
      <MemberObjectGroups>
        <ObjectRef type='ObjectGroup' id='#ID#Top' name='Top'/>
      </MemberObjectGroups>
    </Rule>

  • How open a report with Viewer 2008 without using Visual Studio and Java

    Hi,
    There is a way to open a report (with parameters) save in a web server with Crystal Report Viewer 2008 without using Visual Studio or Java ?
    I've an asp page and i want to open this report using some command (I know asp, vbscript and html)
    In the past it was very easy because we use CR 9, but now it's already many days im looking for a solution but seem impossible.
    I know the craxdrt.dll is not included with Crystal Reports 2008.
    It seem me i can use OpenDocument, but i'm not sure. Someone has some easy example to help me ?
    Remember i have only Crystal report viewer 2008 on the server and on the clients.
    Thanks in advance

    If you are looking to create a web application or view report through a web server using only Crystal Reports then you do have to either use Java, or .NET.
    If you have Crystal Reports server or Business Objects Enterprise you can use OpenDocument to view managed reports but this does require one of our server products.

  • How can i import data to ipad from pc ?

    how can i ımport data to ipad from pc ?

    It would help if you said what sort of data you want to transfer - documents, spreadsheets, powerpoint, etc .
    In order to transfer files to the iPad you will first need one or more apps on the iPad that supports those file types - without an app the files cannot be saved (apart from as email attachments), as unlike 'normal' computers the iPad doesn't have a file system and files/documents have to be stored/associated with an app. Once you've got an app then, depending on what it is, transfer might be done via the file sharing section at the bottom of the iPad's apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, via wifi, email attachments, Dropbox etc.
    If you want to transfer/support Word and Excel documents then Documents To Go is one option (http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/documents-to-go-office-suite/id317117961?mt=8) and how to transfer to/from it is described on this pagehttp://support.dataviz.com/support.srch?docid=14497&pid=198 (the 'premium' version of the app also supports editing Powerpoint files instead of just viewing them)
    Apple's Pages app supports Word documents :http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pages/id361309726?mt=8 (how to transfer files http://help.apple.com/pages/ipad/1.4/#tanb5b5c055)

    iPhoto is a Database. Before it can work with any data it must be imported to the database, so yes it is necessry to import them.
    Can't I see the pictures from the media without importing?
    See above.
    If not, is there any application with this functionality?
    Hundreds. Any image viewer will do the job. On your Mac the Finder has QuickLook and there is the Preview app as well. Online you can download any of these:

  • Where we can see  receipt date with reference to Schedule lines in SA

    Hi,
    where we can see  receipt date with reference to Schedule lines( not with reference to Items) in Schedule Agreement
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Kapil.

    Table EKET is schedule line table and it consists only the Scheduled and statistical delivery dates, the Open and GR Qty but not the receipt date against the schedule lines.  The receipt dates are stored in the EKBE (History per Purchasing Document) tables but this dates are stored against the Purchase doc item number but not the schedule line no.
    System generally fills the scedule lines in the chronological orders based on the GR qty.
