Can I disable an "edit link" that is a column in a report?

Hi -- I have a report page whose first column is a link -- it links to a form to edit the selected row.
When the user's privileges are insufficient for editing, I want to display the link column, but disable
it. I can completely NOT display it (using conditions) but don't like this option.
I've tried setting both the item attribute and the link attribute to: id='EditRow', and then using
a conditional region to disable it: document.getElementById("EditRow").disabled = true;
This approach is working for HTML buttons, but not for this report column. How can I do this?

I think that I had a similar requirement of a report where the user wanted links to display on certain records and on on others. I got this to work by putting the link HTML code in my SQL query. Here is a simplified version of my SQL:
SELECT id
     , description
     , CASE WHEN nvl(l.letter_seq,0) = 1 then
              '<a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:<APEX_PAGE_TO_NAVIGATE_TO>:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::<Page Item Parameters>:<Parameter Values>"'
            ELSE
              NULL
       END my_link
FROM my_table
WHERE ...
So, if my LETTTER_SEQ=1, then I display a link, else I don't have a link. This way, you can also have links to different pages, based on the CASE statement. You don't need the double-quotes around the "f?p=" stuff, I couldn't get the string to display correctly without the double-quotes. Sorry for all of the editing and re-posting.

If you don't want a :hover state to show in the phone css of a fluid grid layout, you would remove it from the global settings and only include it in the tablet and desktop media queries.
Or are you trying to do something else?

The SMS links thing is highly annoying. You don't have to copy/paste however. You should see an icon like this: (>) to the right of the text bubble with the link. Tap on that, the in the screen that opens, tap "Visit".
Alternatively, you can tap twice directly on the link, then hold your finger down after the second tap.
Still unnecessarily difficult, but not as bad as copy/paste.
What I don't get is why can't I find any mention of this change or how to fix it (if even possible) elsewhere online?

You CAN'T download published files and then edit them in iWeb because iWeb can't open them - it has no import facility so is unable to open any html or css files - a previously published site.
You can download these files yes, but you'll need to use them as a guide or to cut and paste text from there whilst you re-build your site in iWeb.
The only other way is to download the files and then open them with an html editor such as TextWrangler or use one of the other web design programmes out there that is capable of importing html and css such as Dreamweaver of Flux 4.
These are your only alternatives as iWeb can't import and if you want to continue to use iWeb, then you'll have to re-build your site from scratch. If you do just remember to back up your domain.sites file this time around - it is found under your User/Library/Applicaion Support/iWeb/domain.sites.

It depends on your version. I hope you are on CP6 or later. In that case you have two possiblities:
a shape button on the main master slide (and be sure that all daughter master slides have the objects of the main master slide)
a shape button on the first slide, timed for the rest of the project.

No, Firefox is user choice rules over the "wants" of individual websites as far as disabling contextual menus and the keyboard commands.
Placing a transparent image over the image will keep the less technical user from saving the main image. If they do try to save it all they'll get is the transparent image overlay.

After uninstalling Firefox and clicking the box that asked about uninstalling bookmards too I can't open my old links that I've had for years.(IE) Please help!

The only links that are usable are the ones I had on a Yahoo toolbar on my IE homepage which I never deleted or changed during this whole process. I've tried System Restore and a ClickFree Restore. All the Clickfree did was put hundreds of icons on my desktop that look like they go on from here to timbuck two. System Restore said the restoration failed - numerous times. Not sure if I should use Recuva - I'm a little gunshy now to try anything. Please help. Thanks SO much!

The Solution: Tools - Internet Options - Program Tab ... and there was the Default Web Browser option. It said that IE was NOT the default browser. I changed that and IT WORKED.

How Can I Disable "Live" Web Links in a PDF

I have a pdf which is assembled from a variety of original documents, including one document that has a dozen or so "live" url links to websites. I didn't create the document in question, and I don't have access to the original word processing file.
I need to upload the whole document to a website that will not accept pdfs with live links. (It's a filing in a legal action, and the website is operated by a court.) The website support people have told me to remove or disable the links.
This ought to be easy, but I can't figure it out. I can't edit the source document to deactivate the links, (i) becasue I don't have it, and (ii) because it's a part of the record that shouldn't be modified without some form of formal process.
I tried scanning the pages with the links, with the thought that I would replace the original pages with scanned pages. But the court requires text searchable documents, and the OCR process identified the links as urls and created live links.
If there's a basic setting that turns deactivates web links in the text, I haven't found it.

Thanks for the thought, but the document in question has already been reviewed by the technical department of the court's website help desk. They have identified the website addresses in the text as the reason why their system won't accept it and directed me to remove them. They refer to the addresses as "hyperlinks," which led me to believe that there was a separate link object involved.
However, from what I've learned here tonight, the problem is Acrobat's default behavior in parsing a text string that begins with "http:"
There are a number of ways to handle the problem, all of which involve a little bit of busy work, but it's not a big deal.
It's just it would have been easier if there were some preference I could enable before re-saving the document that did the trick. Now that I think about it, a programmer could probably create an external routine (I assume such things exist for pdf files?) that would "mask" the http string from the parsing engine, or otherwise instruct the application not to generate a live link. But such a routine itself would probably be rejected as as "code which may cause an external action," and there's probably no way to distinguish "good" external routines from malware.

Can Contribute add, delete, edit links in this photo gallery?

I'm not having much luck getting Contribute CS4 to delete or add photos, with correct nav, to the gallery below.
It takes them out, leaving a blank page, or adds them in, not linked to the buttons. Replacing the photo with a new photo also gives a blank page.

How would I get Contribute to add a new photo into the set or delete a photo from the set, with correct navigation?

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Now try editing them again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

How can I properly embed deep links that contain http: twice

We have an online bookstore where we need to embed deep links to a booktopia page. I have tested the links given to us by the affiliate program (DGM performace) and they work perfectly but when I embed them into muse and hit publish they give me a server not found page.

You can't have two http in a URL. Why do you have two? Try taking one out.

Can I delete the automatic links that pop up in the address bar? I don't really like the suggestions that come up as I'm typing a web address because they are usually not helpful!

For example if I am trying to type in an address, the address bar fills in immediately with a prior-visited address that has a similar name (it thinks it's helping me) but that's not the link I want. Can I clear out or cancel this feature of firefox?

Create a hyperlink or button with the mailto: format. In the Overlay Creator panel, change the settings to allow the hyperlink to leave the application and open an external browser.
