Can I disable the album cover view when I turn the iTouch sideways?

So when you I am listening to music, and I turn the touch on its side, it switches from the player to the album view that you can scroll back from side to side.
I don't know about you guys, but I HATE this. I never EVER use this and I think it super annoying that it comes up all the time. And when when i turn the touch back upright.. there is a delay and it take time to return to the player. I wish there was a way to disable it.. or even better, when you turned the iTouch sideways, it showed a wide music player.
Any suggestions, comments, work arounds?

Double tap the Home Button to bring up multi-tasking. Swipe the bar to the right to bring up music controls. The left button is the Orientation Lock. When it's enabled, you see an icon at the top of the notification tray to let you know it's locked. This locks certain applications in the native view (YouTube videos still play horizontally, Music stays in portrait, and photos stay in portrait).

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

When you add a WiFi you can't get into any websites??? But if you turn WiFi off you can access websites?

I have multiple playlists on my I touch but if you turn it horizontal all lists are on the view.

The iPhone isn't the issue. It's your Apple ID. Whenever you update an existing application, it requires that you use the Apple ID that was originally used to download the app in question.
Did you create a new Apple ID for your new iPhone?

remove case and screen protector- make sure mute swith is off - clean out headphone hole with compressed air
then if no result
reset all settings
settings-general-reset-reset all settings
now reconnect to wifi
settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes
if still persists have repaired

When I turn my iTouch sideways nothing happens....

I have noticed about 2 or 3 days ago that when I turn my iTouch sideways when listening music or navigating in Safari nothing happens. It just doesn´t go into the horizontal mode anymnore. I have tried to restore the system and reinstall the 2.0.2 software but still the same... Otherwise the machine works perfectly. What can I do ?

I've also been having the same problem. Sometimes it doesn't turn at all and sometimes I literally have to turn it sideways and keep it sideways for 3 minutes before it turns (when it's supposed to turn in a second or two). Is there are specific reason for this? I tried looking everywhere for the answer but couldn't find one. If apple support can find a solution to this problem, please do!

There used to be an "i" on the album cover so you could open the album while the main page was still on-what happened?

I would like to listen to multiple albums on itunes when purchases faster. Meaning, instead of going "back" on the screen, I simply want to open the album without closing the main screen like it used to. there used to be an info buttom on the bottom right " i " but it's gone. How can I listen to albums quicker without having to scroll through all the menu's again?

but then it opens the album and leaves the main page. It used to have a small button ON the album to open it but only double it's size and left the main screen visible in the back ground. then to go from album to album was faster.

Album cover view for Radio does not match current song playing

I'm currently listening to the Pop Genre radio station. The play list for this station has clearly been updated recently. I listen to this often and there are many new songs currently on. Something strange has happened with this most recent update. The album cover view no longer matches the song currently playing, so you can no longer use the Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down function to improve the station play list.

Can you try reinstalling Spotify to see if this fixes the problem?
There have been several reports of this recently and everyone was able to solve this by reinstalling.

Album Cover/Title not showing in the List for an Artist with one album.

Hello all.
I have browsed a number of the posts, but nothing close to my particular problem.
I am new to iPod Classic (a couple of months). I like it! Used to be a Creative Zen Vision:M user.
Here is my issue.
I have most of the covers for my albums. Still looking for a few.
When I go to the Artist's menu and pick an artist, if it has more than one album, it shows 'All Songs' and a list of albums with covers, album name and number of songs on a separate screen. You click an album and it shows the tracks, you click a track and away you go. That works just fine.
However, when the Artist only has one album, it does not show the album cover, name and number of songs on a separate screen. It just shows the list of tracks. I would like it to be consistent. I would like to see the album cover/name before I click the tracks to start.
I have worked all my songs in iTunes. I'm pretty sure there is no difference between the one and multiple album artists.
Of course when you click a track to start, the album cover shows on the Now Playing screen.
Is there some sort of setting I might have missed.
Any thoughts on this? What might I try?

I'm not questioning your answer. Just want to make sure before I say OK and let it be. I had heard that iTunes/iPod forces you to do things their way, this is an example, I guess!

Hello. I am a new Mac user. A couple days ago, I purchased a brand-new MacBook Pro, and have become very fond of it. So fond of it, I have become quite obsessed and protective of it as if it is my own child. Lol. Anyways, the only thing I am trying to figure out is how do I make a password come up as soon as I turn on my computer? I already have it set where whenever it goes asleep it asks for the password, but how when I turn the Mac on?

Open the "System Preferences" app and click on "Accounts".
Click "Login Options" at the bottom of the list of users.
If the options in the dialog are greyed out, click the padlock and enter your password to unlock them.
At the top of the dialog you should see an "Automatic login" option: change this to "off".
You should now get the login window when you start the computer.

Based on other posts, the misic videos no longer play in landscape mode. You get the album covers as u describe.

I don't think Finder does this (I've tried).
iTunes does though. Where you can set artwork or the "poster frame"...
This may not be what you want but if it helps, I know 2 ways do this is
Open the video in QuicktimePlayer7 | View | Set Poster Frame (even then, you might need to save it as .mov (ie in a 'mov container').
Drag the file into iTunes and set the artwork (as in http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/adding-album-cover-art-or-images-in-itunes .html)
From there, iTunes will use that frame as the "poster frame" ie the photo/frame that shows when you browse your videos. Which is what you want, but limited to iTunes.
When I do either of these above, the frame I set does not show when exploring files in "Finder" (or in the other Explorer tool I use called "Pathfinder").
So it maybe, that exactly what you want, is not possible.

Using remote app iPhone 5 to play out of iTunes. It looks like it works fine for regular music, but for music videos you can't see your up next unless you go back on the computer to change once you've left the screen. When using the remote app, you shouldn't need to go to iTunes on the PC to view or edit Up Next already added. See first image, you can hit upper right and get back to Up Next (second image). Third image is music video, where you can't get back to Up Next, just swap between full screen and not. I hoped 3.0.1 would have the answer, no luck!

Album cover present when the ipod not locked, but not when locked

I bought a new 4rth generation ipod touch, and I bought new music and synced it. The new 2 albums, when I play the songs, I can see the album cover when my ipod is not locked, but when locked, I only see my wallpaper and there is no album cover...
why is this?

Just wanted to say I'm having the same problem. It's not detrimental by any standards but it does bother my OCD a tad. Hopefully it's a small glitch that can be resolved.
